Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker1
Apr 9, 2026
The characters go from point A to point B, something happens, they go from point B to point C, something else happens, they go from point C to point D, something else happens, they go from point D to point E, something else happens, they go...

Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi5
Apr 9, 2026
It was watchable. A passable way to spend a couple of hours. Slightly more interesting than the Force Awakens, but with more flaws, and ironically despite trying to move the story into a new direction, I'd say it wasn't daring ENOUGH.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens4
Apr 9, 2026
It was watchable. A passable way to spend a couple of hours, marred by some annoying choices. I'd give it a 5 if it wasn't a sequel to one of cinema's greatest trilogies.

Logan Lucky9
Apr 9, 2026
Honestly a perfect film. Fun and hilarious. (I'm just giving it a 9 instead of a 10 because I reserve 10s for approximately my top 10 films of all time.)

Black Bag6

This is a difficult one to review. Without getting into specifics, it kind of felt like... a movie trying to be more intelligent than it actually was. Could've been one of the spy movie greats, but sadly wasn't. Sadly Soderbergh has done much better.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever3
Apr 9, 2026
Black Panther was one of my utmost favorite MCU films. This film captured none of its magic. The plot falls flat, as do its characters. I know Coogler was handicapped by the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman, though I still don't know how he bungled this. Speaking of Boseman - he died from the same cancer I've been fighting for the last couple of years. Please, please, take this message to heart: If you start to poo funny
Go get a colonoscopy! They're not as bad as their reputation would have you believe, and early detection will give you the best chance of survival. **** cancer.

Thor: Love and Thunder3
Apr 9, 2026
Unlike Ragnarok, which was both fun and hilarious, this film didn't have a single funny moment. The only good part was a visually arresting scene in black-and-white with Christian Bale.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness2
Apr 9, 2026
An absolute waste of time that also stomps on the character of Wanda after her wonderfully mixed portrayal in Wandavision, and creates a complete non-character in America Chavez (literally - she has no characteristics).

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle9
Apr 9, 2026
Every bit as good as the original, with yet more delightful impressions throwing in Danny Glover and Danny DeVito into the mix.

Jumanji: The Next Level9
Apr 9, 2026
Legit one of my favorite comedies. Just a ton of fun throughout, with Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and even the Rock all doing great impressions that fit perfectly within the story's structure.

Hell or High Water9
Apr 9, 2026
Best thing Chris Pine has ever been in. Perfect plot; stirring story; memorable and one I'll always keep coming back to.

The Handmaiden10

The ROMANCE. The PLOT TWISTS. The THRILLS. This movie has absolutely everything a movie should have. Absolute masterpiece.

I hate this movie with a burning passion and I can't understand why anyone would enjoy watching this. It seems like an exercise in masochism from the director (a director who, btw, has given me one of my favorite movies of all time!) or an exercise in sadism from the viewer.

Final Destination: Bloodlines7
Apr 9, 2026
So much bloody fun -- and surprisingly clever, with surprisingly believable and likable and funny characters. Absolutely the best form that a Final Destinations movie could be - 7.5 / 10

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse8
Apr 9, 2026
Everyone already knows: This was a REVOLUTION in animated art style, unlike anything anyone had ever seen before, and for that alone it deserves all the props. But also, who doesn't like Miles?

Predator: Killer of Killers9
Apr 9, 2026
Visceral, cool fun. Then: Absolutely gorgeous. Then: Wild and stupid but beautiful and fun. And then finally: Surprisingly touching. This was 100x better than it had any right to be.

Mickey 178
Apr 9, 2026
So much fun! The final act of the film goes on a bit too long for what it provides, which is a bit of ham-fisted allegory, but the rest of the film is good comedic fun anchored by Robert Pattinson's enchanting performance(s).

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald2
Apr 9, 2026
Absolutely dull and dreary from start to finish, an absolutely gigantic drop from the first film, which was mediocre but cute.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them6
Apr 9, 2026
Decent, but not the kind of movie that's captivating enough along any one dimension that I'd want to watch it again.

Superman9
Apr 9, 2026
One of James Gunn's best, absolutely fun from start to finish, exactly what a good superhero film should be, and no complaints!
