Time travel is a deep and peculiar idea that comes up as the fundamental piece due its ability to describe social processes and suggests communication possibilities amidst the most brutal social dilemmas. Overwhelming wars, deadly clashes, excruciating disagreements, smashing confrontations, feels like time-travel movies may approach all these themes and is exactly that X-Men: Days of Future Past manages to do. The movie’s plot manages to draw our attention and contains very engaging scenes entangled with mathematical expertise. And it stands out consciousness as a fundamental product that must appear in the most breath-taking time travel proposition that may be filmed. Consciousness is the guiding element that makes such movies advance, because she executes a mind-bending role in all of these forms of plots. No one may agonize for the past. Everyone must to combat for the future. X-Men: Days of Future Past manages to expose this idea through so many precision and engaging scenes, bringing the movie to life echoing and shining, guiding its most fundamental aesthetic conception, building a powerful and consistent link between the piece and the public that contemplates it. And this is the reason why the movie resonates and vibrates so groundbreaking.

Greetings from Lithuania."X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014) is very solid flick, with a big budget and even bigger stars it delivers what it promises. It's a very good X-Men movie, but for me, not as good as "X-Men: First Class". Settings, special effects are great, you can clearly see that lots of effort was put into making of this movie. Don't have to say anything more actually. Acting was good by everyone. I liked the overall idea of this movie that clearly borrow from "Terminator" series. I liked how a screenplay managed to incorporate actors from both X-Men universes - past and new into a single story. Not many movies manage to do so that well. Overall, 9/10 for "X-Men: Days of Future Past", a very good, entertaining X-Men movie with one slow motion standout sequence which you will want to see many times. Great film.

This is the direction we have all been waiting for the studios to take and it does an excellent job on all fronts. That's it. Just go watch!

I really enjoyed Days of Future Past and believe it's one of the better X-Men films. Blending both the original and new school casts together in a time travel scheme, the results are entertainingly good. It also retcons a lot of the previous films in a good way, which sets the slate clean for the franchise moving forward.

X-Men: Days of the Future Past is probably my absolute favourite X-Men film. Most of the characters are already established and they are very well-used. The new characters are also great. The enemies are not completely stupid or evil. There is at least some sense to what they are doing. Overall the stakes are very high, but they managed to balance the serious and funny moments really well. There are also great little twists that I love. At first I didn't like how it ended, but having sit on it for some time, I'm completely positive about it now. The direction and the cinematography are the best they've ever been in the franchise. This is Bryan Singer's finest work I've seen. The editing is out of this world for a superhero movie. It doesn't have the right to be as good as it is. The visual parallels between the timelines are so cool. The visual effects are beyond amazing too. The stuff with Peter is mind-blowing. The cast is close to being as enormous as any Avengers movie. The performances are superb even though not many actors got enough time to shine. This time there wasn't a single performance I thought was cheesy or weird. X-Men: Days of the Future Past has no right to be this good, although I don't get the post credit scene. It teases the next film, but after this film the audience can't connect it to anything.

I really liked this film, I thought it was definitely the best in the series of x men films until that point. The future world was awesome and terrible. The action scenes in the future were great to watch. I loved going back to the early 70s, and the amusement that could be had. I really liked the guy who could move super-quickly - some of the best scenes in the film had him in. Peter Dinklage was fantastic as the villain! The story was great! I'd definitely watch it again.

What an interesting idea! I'm not a huge fan of time travelling, but the creators nailed it in this case. It has memorable scenes, a well-constructed story and awesome fights. Sadly, this is the last time the past timeline actually worked. So, the movie is a nice concept well executed.

A film with a classic plot for its genre but well developed and which stands out for the excellent intensity that it maintains from beginning to end both for the plot content and for the action. The connection with the past differentiates it positively from the other films in the saga

Does it resemble the same story arc from the comics? Not in the slightest. Does that matter for this film? Absolutely not. The pace and editing of the past and future timelines are top-notch and create great amounts of tension. Centering the movie around Logan was a brilliant choice commercially and creatively, and, aside from his titular film later on, this might be the best Jackman performance we have, which is saying something considering how much he has to stand out among the large cast. Everyone is great. Fassbender is genially brutal, and the prison break-out scene is one of the best in the series. This is the one movie where the J-Law Mystique clicked for me - she captures both her ferocity and her wounded spirit. The scene where she limps away from a jeering crowd after being shot is heartbreaking. The future stuff hits all the right notes. This is a crackerjack movie and everything a superhero film should be. It's not half-baked like some of the later entries - there's stakes, there's melodrama to spare, everything feels heightened and epic.

Wolverine gallops through time and space to deflect an ugly outcome for all of humanity, pausing frequently to give old cast members the time to wink directly into the camera and strut off the stage. I'm somewhat ashamed to admit I thought it was a gigantic mess. The story had a lot of potential, especially in the unusual settings of both timelines, but it somewhat predictably gets tangled in the tripwires often associated with a time travel flick and spends far too much time delivering fan service when it should've been examining character motivations and further world-building. Trask and his sentinels barely play a supporting role in the proceedings, patsies at best, and I'm still struggling to comprehend Magneto's decision-making in the third act. Days of Future Past retains all of the unease-inspiring puns and goofball moments that I'd hoped the series could shed, making it feel dated and slightly pandering... a significant backtrack from the progress made in First Class. Even the built-in fireworks of two heavyweight casts, finally meeting face-to-face, doesn't really work as well as it should. Seeing the new guys (McAvoy and Fassbender) alongside the old guard (Stewart and McKellen) didn't result in a torch-passing or spotlight the nuanced efforts that so delighted me in the previous picture, it just made me yearn to see more of the older guys. I mean, it's not all bad - the effects work is wonderful, it's a lot of fun spotting all the little love notes scattered about, and the action roars right along for a two-hour Candyland cruise - but I had trouble shutting off my brain when earlier chapters hadn't been nearly so demanding in that department.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is one of the better time-travel movies that just happens to be a superhero movie as well. Another movie that I always rewatch at least once a year. It's not perfect, there are a few moments that could been better but you can easily overlook them due to the overall experience.

will go for 1 time, ordinary superhero movie, but for 2014 will go..............

X-Men: Days Of Future Past Makes Suffering through the previous Films worth it. Its a Genuinely good Film even with Its few downsides.

This where they should of stopped with the X-men. It wrapped up everthing up nicely. So this is my personal head cannon end for sure to the series.

It was incredibly gratifying to see an X-Men movie with realistic fight scenes for the first time. Both scenes that pit the X-Men stand outs against the cartoon-famous Sentinels were highly entertaining, CGI done right. The fact that Sir Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart were kicking asses in what could be their final reruns of their legendary roles added to the sorrow. Story (and the usual mutant-human melodrama) has its moments. The only downsides in my opinion, JLaw's forgettable acting and James Mcavoy's constant pained expression. Both are rather overplayed and exhausting.

As far as the Fox cinematic universe goes, this is the best X-Men adaptation ever made. There is everything and more, everything a fan would like to have and everything he has always dreamed of. The story of time travel, although it is always a very risky move in the cinematographic field, even if we are talking about a superhero and therefore science fiction film, is incredibly coherent and well done and this gives that extra something to the film just enough to make it very good and almost memorable. It has only one flaw, it ends. And then it continues with Apocalypse and The Dark Phoenix...

X-Men: Days of Future Past. There is little time left. A great meeting of the old and new generation of X-Men. Bryan Singer repeated the success of his first two films and gave the audience a great sequel.

Wish this was the series finale instead of the one we got with Dark Phoenix/New Mutants fits perfectly as the finale.

With the help from some of the original X-Men member cast, especially Hugh Jackman, X-Men: Days Of Future Past is making the new X-Men member cast such as James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and even Nicholas Hoult performances way more convincing than before, the movie also fills with again great visual and special effects, better action while it's not epic, but it's still great, and the original X-Men cast performances that are still great too, overall X-Men: Days Of Future Past is a great, fun, exciting, and entertaining continuation of the X-Men franchise and i'm excited for next.

The best traditional X-Men movie before Logan blew the entire franchise away, X-Men: Days of Future Past is a first-rate sequel to First Class. Mixing both the old cast with the new, this is as much a terrific time travel movie in the spirit of the Terminator franchise as it is a great superhero movie.

I'm gonna be a little too honest here: I bingewatched all the X-Men movies, so I often forget about this movie. Many times I get confused when someone mentions a scene from this movie, and I'm like, "wait, it happened in THIS movie? I thought it happened in First Class/Apocalypse!" And I'd prefer admitting that it's my fault than it being the movie's fault. X-Men: Days of the Future Past is what I'd call the movie that bridges X-Men: First Class with the other canonical movies, and at the same time also helps in eliminating the bad movies like The Last Stand and Origins. The movie begins with, as usual, mutants being attacked and eliminated. So to save all of them, Wolverine goes back in time and stop Mystique from killing Bolivar Trask, a defence contractor. Wolverine reached the 1970s, when he was still a mutant without vibranium. And to set planes in motion, he has to find Charlex Xavier, Magneto, Beast and Mystique. Bolivar Trask used Mystique's powers to create Mutant Hunting Robots. In the beginning they were only meant to be used to fight in the Vietnam war, but seeing how Mystique and Magneto revealed themselves, they decided to use the robots to hunt down the mutants itself. They didn't see whether mutants are also sentient beings or not, they just wanted to have them eliminated. And that's when the roles of money and power play. It was on the order of President Nixon that Bolivar decided to make those robots, which President Nixon had ordered only because of Bolivar's influence. So in a way it was a loop of blame. And when Professor X, Wolverine and Quicksilver reach Magneto to save him, we finally get to see the fabled Quicksilver scene, where he takes down all the prison guards single handedly. It was the most iconic moment from the movie, and no amount of appreciation can praise it as much as it deserves. The modern day scenes were also adding to the tension, and in the end when Mystique is left with the choice whether to kill Bolivar or not, it is a quite tense moment whether the mutants in the modern time will survive or not. In the end we see that all the mutants who had died in the previous movies had also come back to life, and the franchise was brought back to where Bryan Singer had left it in X2. Normally it is very difficult to reboot a franchise (read Sonic 06). Not only do you have to understant the major events that need to ve removed in order to fix the franchise, you also have to make the reboot-turning movie really good, otherwise it will just contribute to being the hot garbage that the other movies of the franchise are. And that's the reason why I believe this movie is underrated. It single handedly fixed a failing franchise, joined the acclaimed prequel into the main timeline and became a success both critically and financiallly. It deserves to be one of the most iconic X-Men movies.

The best part of the franchise in my view: The movie shows a loft of conflicts of the x-men and make the characters deep and interesting. Especially I like the wolverine here, because he is wiser and more quiet. The actors are also brilliant, as usual I like Michael Fassbender. Also the story is good, because you need at least a bit of brain to follow it, because it mixes sci fi story with politics, what I already liked in X-Men First Class. The visual effects are stunning. Respect to Bryan Singer.

Very good movie from start to finish enjoyed this xmen alot well done story

This is the best X-men movie. It was full of action and it was pretty easy to understand.

I am not very used to films that have characters from the comic book universe as their theme, but the quality and impact that some have had makes them a mandatory visit. So, even without knowing much about the characters or their fictional stories, I decided to watch the X-Men franchise films. This decision was followed by some reading about the characters and the films. I tried to follow more or less the chronological sequence of events starting with prequels. This film begins in the relatively near future where Humanity has gone to war against mutants, seen as a real threat to the future of the world. And they are winning! There are fewer and fewer mutants thanks to the Sentinela Program's hunting robots, created decades earlier with the mission of developing defenses in an eventual large-scale war. Isolated in what appears to be an inaccessible spot in Tibet, the surviving X-Men allied themselves with Magneto and what remained of the Mutant Brotherhood in a kind of last stronghold of combat. Here, when using their gifts and abilities together, they decide to send Wolverine (the most resistant and the only one capable of self-regeneration) on a risky mission to the past, in order to interrupt the chain of events that would give rise to the Sentinel Program and waging war before it even starts. The film is excellent in every way, but it is necessary to be attentive to understand well, given that it takes place at the same time in the present (which corresponds to a future close to ours) and in the past. Brilliantly directed by Bryan Singer, the film has a very pleasant pace and there are no dead moments or scenes that feel out of place. Everything works like clockwork. Of course, the action is an essential part of the film. The script is original and creative, but accessible enough to be understood without having to think too much. On the one hand, it gives a logical follow-up to the events of the previous films, and on the other hand it creates a temporal paradox where the whole story is corrected, so the films that will come later will focus on this new line of events. I believe that one of the most symbolic moments of this film is the short conversation that young Xavier has with his older alter-ego of the future, a truly anthological moment. The cast is massively inherited from previous films and is composed of great actors. The majority, therefore, are already familiar with the characters, and there are many characters and a large number of great actors. The quality of the material given to the actors was reflected in the quality of their work, which is really good. Hugh Jackman has all the prominence in this film and knows how to use it. The character Xavier appears in its two cinematic versions (the mature Xavier by Patrick Stewart and the young Xavier by James McAvoy) and the same goes for Magneto/Erik (the young version is brilliantly played by Michael Fassbender while the mature version belongs to the impeccable Sir Ian McKellen). Jennifer Lawrence shone in the role of the cruel and cold Raven/Mystique and Halle Berry finally managed to find herself as Storm after a series of average performances. The film also features Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, Peter Dinklage, Shawn Ashmore, Omar Sy, Evan Peters, Josh Helman, Famke Janssen and James Marsden. In addition to these merits, the film has excellent production values that should be highlighted. Its a Marvel film and there are huge millions of dollars involved, which is quite evident from the beginning. Visually it is a show in itself, with great visual effects and the best CGI that money could buy. The scenes and action sequences are great and the effects are a bonus, although the final fight sequence against the robots sometimes seems excessive. As happened almost always in this franchise, the film has excellent sets and costumes and there is a pleasant feeling of time in the scenes from the Sixties, thanks to all the details that we are observing. Cinematography is good and uses color and shadow well. The editing work was impeccable. I think it is fair to also greet the makeup department and the great soundtrack by John Ottman.

I love X-Men Days of Future Past. It's the best X-Men movie of all time. I love the whole time travel plot

Une marvellerie qui aligne ses stars comme à la parade même si en 2014 elles n'étaient pas aussi connues que maintenant pour nombre d'entre elles ! on y trouve même notre honte nationale, notre infâme bouffon Omar le connard, si, si ! heureusement, c'est un tout petit rôle... mais c'est déjà trop. Malgré sa débauche de très jolis effets spéciaux, cette marvellerie dégage un ennui qui n'en finit pas mais ce n'est pas tout : elle dégage aussi une bêtise à des lieues à la ronde ainsi qu'une maladresse, voire une niaiserie à l'image de tout le reste : c'est en effet désespérément, affreusement, inéluctablement... bête ! Jamais rien vu d'aussi bête et ennuyeux à la fois...! non seulement c'est bidon mais plus on regarde, plus on tente de regarder (on serre les cale-pieds à fond) plus la bêtise et l'ennui augmentent à vitesse grand V : c'est le TGV de la connerie ! et ça en devient totalement ridicule de A à Z. Ah si on pouvait remonter le temps pour annihiler définitivement tous ces X-cons, ce ne serait pas du luxe !!

I felt they did a surprisingly decent job with the plot of blending both the prequel and main films together into one. It was, however, still flawed and I felt the pacing really didn't help things either as it was very inconsistent at times. The cast did a great job though, Although that isn't surprising considering how stacked it was. While Days of Future Past is far from perfect, It's an OK sequel. First Class was far superior though and I wish they had just developed that storyline before throwing it all away for a mash-up in this one.

At the time I thought really great, but now that time passed and writing this review I am downgrading my mark a bit.

Como um todo, acredito que seja sim um bom filme. Porém, o roteiro/direção falha em passar emoção nos momentos mais dramáticos. Os furos no roteiro incomodam quem é um pouco mais atencioso quanto ao universo, e algumas atitudes dos personagens são "duvidosas", fazendo com que não haja uma empatia genuína para com os espectadores.

Other than Logan this the best X-men movie in my opinion. Great action scenes and characters are well tolledand fleshe out. ALso the movie was good overall.

The best that X-Men has to show for since the dawn of their inception in 2000 with X1. It's not the time travel that makes Days of Future Past an instant smash hit, it's the consistency of true storytelling and resonance that it poses throughout, and the fact it's taking itself and it's franchise seriously (when much of the recent X-Men installments have not) while still having tremendous fun. A serious rewatchable superhero extravaganza and worthy any price of admission.

Has some strong scenes and acting but but a terribly uninteresting plot and screenplay problems.

A great goodbye to the old cast and a great welcome to the new cast. I liked the movie very much. They gave a good amount of backstory to every character and even the villain instead of relying on action alone. Its a great step to a bright future for the x-men series.

An excellent x men movie that blends old and new. The cast do really well bringing the story to life and it does a lot to repair the damage from x3. Good set pieces and once again Logan, Magneto and Prof X carry the movie.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is a great sequel to X-Men: First Class. Similarly to the comic book story of the same name, the X-Men are being hunted and exterminated by Sentinels in a bleak future, so they have to change the past in order to survive in the present. Wolverine is sent back in time in the early 1970s so that he may prevent Mystique from assassinating Bolivar Trask, an event that proved to be fatal for the mutants. We see a disillusioned Professor X who needs to be convinced about caring for others again, and Magneto first deciding to do the right thing and then returning to his criminal tendencies. We are introduced to Quicksilver who gives us one of the most spectacular slow motion scenes ever. Magneto steals the show when he tears a whole Stadium from the ground, flies in the air with it and then throws it around the White House, surrounding US President Nixon and Trask with the intent to kill them. The movie's real protagonist though is Mystique, who must be logically and emotionally convinced to not assassinate Trask, instead of just being forced to do so by Professor X's telepathic powers. Days of Future Past also served as a sort of retcon for the X-Men movie franchise, changing the characters' backstories established in the old X-Men movies. Thanks to that, 20th Century Fox are now making a new movie themed around the Dark Phoenix saga, to make up for the disappointing X-Men: The Last Stand.

Bryan Singer returns to direct this seventh X-Men instalment, giving us the best X-Men movie to date. This movie has incredible action, strong emotional stakes, great acting, and it pretty much is a flawless movie.
