With fantastic acting and excellent direction, this biopic hits a lot of high notes, with plenty of inspiring and touching moments.

A thriller that is well-directed, well-acted and all around, a very interesting movie. It has a dark and chilling atmosphere, along with some very suspenseful and intense moments.

"Gone Girl", directed by David Fincher, has really dark themes and a disquieting atmosphere. It's a very gripping movie that requires your attention at every second.

The drama is gripping, it's very brutal in places, but this is a very good film that deals with murder and mystery.

Thoroughly engaging and riveting, solidly acted and flawlessly scripted, "The Social Network" is an extraordinary film that offers us an insightful look at the social media we all use and love.

Colin Firth arguably gives his best performance in his career in this masterfully directed film, loaded with humour and poignancy.

Though it's no Silence of the Lambs, it manages to capture most of what made Hannibal Lecter so terrifying and is still a pretty damn haunting film.

Though having some really cheesy dialogues and corny storytelling, this movie is surprisingly not that bad, with some pretty intense disasters happening on screen and The Rock being charismatic and likeable as always.

This is the true sequel that Die Hard fans deserve. Bruce Willis returns to form as John McClane, delivering clever lines, eye-catching action and some great chemistry with Samuel L. Jackson.

It's a pretty overrated film, but "The Hurt Locker" does contain one very suspenseful sniper sequence and some intense bomb-defusing scenes, and a cast that know exactly what they are doing.

This is a lazy and preposterous sequel that will leave audiences wondering where John McClane's charisma went, and why this movie was even made in the first place.

Bigger does not mean better. Although our compelling hero is back in action, "Die Hard 2: Die Harder" has quite a few absurd conveniences sprinkled in different places that really takes viewers out of the movie.

Certainly a classic action film. "Die Hard" has a very charismatic hero and a very likeable villain, and has fantastic action scenes that still live up to its standards today.

This is probably one of the craziest films ever made, filled with nudity, exuberance and downright hilarious sequences that will leave audiences laughing their asses off.

If you thought the previous two films were terrible, you haven't seen anything yet. This third instalment is god-awful, with terrible direction, wooden acting, and a plot that was most likely made up as they went along.

This movie is extremely gory, sick-minded, that if you were eating popcorn while watching this trash, you will most likely end up in the same sick mess.

Terrible. Disgusting. Ridiculous. Those are the first three words that comes to mind. This whole damn thing is just a sick-minded mess.

"Rio" has some great music, great animation and great fun, in general. However, does this film live up to Pixar standards? No, absolutely not. Nevertheless, if you want something to watch with your family, "Rio" is a great choice.

The second half felt disappointingly underwhelming compared to the first half, where there was plenty of intensity and excitement.

Even though it doesn't quite live up to its classic original, it does provide ample intense and fight scenes, and proves that Chris Pratt can deliver great performances in these types of movies.

This film falls heavily short, to the point where certain scenes are laughably bad and ridiculous.

While it's darker and scarier than its predecessor, with more realistic-looking animatronic dinosaurs, however it doesn't capture that magic and spark of the first film, which was what made it so great.

It's got intensity, excitement, great visuals and humour - pretty much everything you expect from a Spielberg movie.

Though not always moving at a fast pace, "The Gift" delivers psychological thrills and a great deal of effective suspense throughout, as well as a haunting performance from Joel Edgerton.

Nobody can deny that "Transcendence" looks really stylistic, that's for sure. Also, the movie does have some thought-provoking moments. The problem with this movie is that the story gets to the point where it becomes preposterous and you just don't buy it.

The last 30 minutes or so of this film really is intense, and is what "Crimson Peak" should have been like throughout its entire runtime. However, the first hour of the movie really is bogged down with slow-pacing and bland characters, albeit having gorgeous set pieces.

This is a not-so-great found footage monster movie. It does have some scares and cool visuals, but it has some really slow scenes, especially at the start and parts in the middle.

Although it is preposterous, "Non-Stop" is an exciting and suspenseful thriller, with a fine performance from Liam Neeson.

The animation here remains top-notch, however the film is bogged down with unnecessary characters, dull scenes and a boring villain.

Tom Hardy gives a truly fantastic performance, portraying two twin characters. The film, however, does have some sloppy pacing and unnecessary scenes that seemed out of place.

A harrowing picture that showcases the talent from some very renowned actors, whilst providing some breathtaking cinematography and visuals.

The first half is, without a doubt, far more superior than the second half, which essentially dissolved into clichés. However, a sense of dread and anxiety lasts for most of the runtime.

This is a tense and claustrophobic film with solid acting and some very intense sequences. However, the film can be a little monotonous at times and its ending is slightly disjointed and dissatisfying.

With generic special effects and a cheesy romance, "The 5th Wave" is a movie that has potential to succeed, but in the end is a tedious, slow-paced snoozefest.

This movie has wonderful acting and moments of greatness, however it sometimes trudges along in a mostly sluggish pace.

It's not as entertaining as the previous two instalments, but it still manages to deliver thrilling action and fast-paced adventure.

With a fantastic direction and brilliant performances, "Argo" is a tense and nail-biting thriller that proves Ben Affleck is one of the greatest working directors to date.

Yes, it does have some interesting and thought-provoking themes, but I could not stand the tedious pacing of this movie.

An improvement over its predecessor. Once again, I really liked Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes, but I especially love Jared Harris as Moriarty, who was a much better villain than Mark Strong's.

It is a slow burn but it's filled with tension with superb performances from Domhnall Gleeson and Oscar Isaac, and brilliant ideas that explore artificial intelligence in a fascinating way.

This is one of those films where you either love it or you hate it. Interestingly enough, I am somewhere down the middle.

A great performance from Robert Downey Jr., who was perfect to play Sherlock Holmes. I liked the cast, I liked the intrigue, but the villain was unfortunately rather generic.

This silly and predictable fourth installment is just utterly disappointing. You can't cheat death, but you can cheat audiences over and over again.
