A middle-of-the-road theatrical experience from 2009 that delivered a fair amount of entertainment, earning a solid three-star rating.260312 (3.0)I caught this in the theater back in 2009, and it sits comfortably in the middle of my viewing history. A 3.0 rating for me signifies a film that was competent and enjoyable for its duration, but perhaps lacked that specific spark or emotional resonance needed to become a long-term favorite. It likely had its merits—maybe some solid visuals or a cohesive plot—but it didn't quite push the boundaries of its genre or leave a lasting impression once I left the cinema. It remains a reliable, pleasant memory of my 2009 movie-going year—a film that served its purpose as a balanced piece of entertainment.

Visualmente é um show.

The writing in this movie is absolutely horrendous! Has Michael bay ever interacted with a real human being ever? None of the human interactions in this movie are based in reality.

The writer's strike of 2008 is clear in this film. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen features a non-existent plot, thinly-veiled characters, hollow performances, gorgeous visual effects, and awesome action all at once. Peter Cullen and Hugo Weaving are amazing as usual. The good and the bad cancel each other out to make an okay movie.

Transformers 2 fails to capitalize on the successful first outing Michael Bay brought us. It is mind numbingly stupid and you will find yourself fighting to stay awake throughout it.

Not good in terms of jokes and action, but the acting is ok and the CGI is still good.

Despite the good CGI and action scenes, the film remains boring due to a poor script and exposition issues. There are nonsensical shifts in scenes, intentions, emotions, and information. In the first movie, Sam carried the Allspark, but in this film he touches a piece of it, everything becomes chaotic. Compared to the previous film, Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox delivered better performances, but the side characters were annoying, especially the mother and roommate Leo, who were **** comic relief doesn't work, and the emotional scenes fail to leave any impact. Poor dialogue and weird scenes like the college lecture hall, dog sex, Turturro’s ass and robot humping, make this already lengthy movie a miserable one. Overall it's a badly written and poorly directed visual noise.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a staggering misstep in the franchise, epitomizing the worst excesses of modern blockbuster filmmaking. The convoluted plot is nearly impossible to follow, drowning in contradictory storylines and unnecessary subplots that leave viewers bewildered and frustrated. The titular villain, The Fallen, suffers from horrendous character development; his motivations for exterminating humanity are flimsy and poorly articulated, rendering him unthreatening and forgettable. Shia LaBeouf delivers a solid performance as Sam, capturing his character's youthful energy and determination, yet his efforts are largely undermined by an atrocious script that feels hastily written and riddled with cringe-worthy dialogue. The military characters serve as average archetypes, contributing little to the narrative's depth, while Megan Fox's character is disappointingly sidelined, lacking agency and purpose. The film's tone leans heavily into crude humor and sexual innuendo, creating an uncomfortable sense of horniness that permeates nearly every scene. This is epitomized by the bizarre moment of Wheelie humping Mikaela’s leg, which distracts from the plot and undermines any seriousness. Adding to the overall weirdness is the female character who transforms into a robot; her overtly sexualized presentation feels jarring and gratuitous, amplifying the film's unsettling sexual undertones. Even more perplexing is the depiction of robot testicles, which contributes to the film's strange fixation on crude humor and objectification. Instead of enhancing the narrative, these elements create a disorienting atmosphere that suggests the filmmakers prioritized shock value over coherence. While the Autobots’ voice acting remains a bright spot, consistently delivering strong performances, it cannot salvage the film’s numerous flaws. The humor largely falls flat, relying on desperate gags that lack wit, and characters like Leo, played by Ramon Rodriguez, are more irritating than entertaining. The twin characters further exemplify cringe-worthy racial stereotypes that detract from the viewing experience. Amidst this chaotic mess, the one redeeming aspect is the forest battle featuring Optimus Prime, which stands out as a rare moment of clarity and excitement. Ultimately, Revenge of the Fallen stands as the one of worst Transformers movie and an insult to the franchise's legacy that leaves viewers yearning for a more coherent, respectful, and engaging narrative.

This is a bad movie. The villain is cool bad execution I don’t know why megatron is back if they focus on the fallen. Also the story is really messy same with the characters I feel like the only thing that’s carried this movie was the forest sense and the pyramid sense. But this is a mess of a movie so overall transformers revenge of the fallen is 3/10

This movie is still watchable, but it starts to tear at the foundation of the first film. Introduces several plot holes to the series.

I saw the first Transformers when it first came out, and didn't care for it much. The battle sequences were noisy and confusing. I found I couldn't tell the "good guys" apart from the "bad guys." I admired the effects overall, and the film certainly gives sound designers and editors a nice showpiece. But I never really desired to see any of the sequels. The other afternoon, I had some free time on my hands, and wanted to watch something mindless. I sure picked the right film. I mean, where do I start in running down the reasons this film is stinker?!?! #1: Script/plot. What a mess. In typical form for director Michael Bay, scenes of more than a few seconds are rare. He must have and assume we do too, the lowest attention span of anyone on the planet. It creates a frantic pace that's exhausting to keep up with and never worth it. The dialogue is INANE, where characters are sketched in moments and then forever locked into their type. Many don't even have a real character developed at all: I mean, Josh Duhamel has been in two of these, ostensibly in a major role, and yet I have ZERO idea what kind of character he is. The story bounces all over and little is rationally explained. The film basically wants us to just watch little chunks of storytelling and not worry about how it ties together. #2: The action. It's what we're really here for, isn't it? And it's as bad as the first film. Again, I couldn't tell the transformers apart readily. The Fallen (what a DUMB name) looks a lot like the good guy with the Liam Neeson accent. When they fight, no one can tell them apart. It's just a bunch of clanking grey metal. And there is no consistency as to what kills one of these creature/machines. Some get huge holes punched right through their middles and keep going. Others are flung against a wall and die. They seem to be easy to kill or indestructible at will. I can only imagine the work the special effects team put into all this, and it looks pretty spectacular until you try to make sense out of the combat. The climactic scenes, set near the ancient pyramids of Egypt (one of which is utterly destroyed!) are confusing locations. The camp where our GIs await Sam Witwicky (our hero, played by Shia LeBeouf) seems to be near the action at times and FAR away at others. Sam seems to be right there, and then he seems to be far away still. It's all so stupid. #3: Acting. Terrible. Shia LeBeouf is clearly barely interested in this role, and he's the best of the bunch. It ranges from generic, I'm-here-to-get-paid (Josh Duhamel or Tyrese) to frantically over-the-top (John Turturro, trying his best to be comic relief but instead just being annoying) to unwatchable (Megan Fox). Megan Fox is simply the worst actress I have ever seen. Sure, she's built like a **** she brings not one single second of believable character or emotion to the film. She has no comic timing. No ability to connect with those around her, making her "love" scenes with Shia truly cringeworthy. Simply awful. Awful, awful, awful. Wow, she's bad. #4: Humor. Well, the first film succeeded in being entertaining early on with some amusing bits where the world gets introduced to Transformers. There were some cheap but at least genuine laughs there. NOW, all attempts at humor are forced. LaBeouf has lost virtually all his natural charm in this film, so you don't even enjoy his energy. There are two little "jive talking" transformers who are merely uncomfortable and unfunny racial stereotypes. It's all ham-fisted and not funny. #5: Sound. The film sounds great. If you have a surround sound speaker and good sub-woofer, get ready for the windows to rattle. Again, these guys do a great job in the service of a bad film. They are the only reason the film isn't one-star. REVENGE OF THE FALLEN is simply amateurish and insulting. Insulting to our intelligence and pocket books. Why, oh why, did I watch this?

Though nowhere near as bad as some of the franchise's latter installments, "Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen" is most certainly inferior to its predecessor, what with its grating humor, confusing plot and a third act that's just absolutely devoid of any memorability. My issue with Michael Bay's direction in this is the action, of course. It's just so difficult to trace what's going on for the bulk of every set piece. So many Transformers are thrown our way in this one that it left me feeling like a 55-year-old dad taking his kids to see this. "Which ones are the Decepticons again?" "Who's shooting at who?" "Is that Megatron or Starscream onscreen right now?" Every action scene feels needlessly impersonal, with so many repeated beats and visual cues. I cannot tell you how many times characters will run towards the camera in slow motion, with explosions/Transformers following them from behind. All that said, there's some charm here and there — all of it mostly nostalgia-based, by the way — and a few impressive effects (considering this thing is nearly 15 years old now). Make no mistake, though, this is bottom of the barrel fare and not what blockbusters should be like.

I didn't have high expectations for the first movie given prior Michael Bay movies, but I was pleasantly pleased by its visually arresting storytelling and well crafted characters. Unfortunately, there was a serious chemical imbalance in Revenge of the Fallen. Unfortunately, this sequel's fight scenes were only longer, louder, and less inventive than the highly praised ones from the first film. Although Shia la Boeuf's performance in this movie was once again laudable, I wouldn't completely recommend it. The majority of the battle scenes were filmed in slow motion since the filmmaker needed to provide a more dramatic effect, however after nine or ten of them, it can start to grow tiresome before becoming humorous.

Okay, let's just get everything straight, the first half of the movie was ok, the visual and special effects are dazzling all the way through, the performance are also ok, and the rest of Revenge Of The Fallen was just an utterly boring sequel fills with uninteresting story, a way too long movie that end with the most boring and super long final battle sequence that last like forever, literally i just cannot believe on how long it is and if it's exciting it surely will works but because it's not exciting at all it's boring and tiring to watch, explosion here and there, there goes another one, my ears like bleeding man!, lot's of cheesy moments and dialogue, i really really try my best to still keep up with the film in the first half and i did it, i still thought it was ok, and again the rest after that was just a disaster, overall Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen is mostly a boring, unexciting action film that goes way too long fills with dazzling effects and ok first half but a tiring, boring, and exhausting second and last act.

The first movie was an absolute blast for me. Be it the action, the plot, the music. Everything. It was an original action movie, which I can't say about the sequel. Since the main characters are already familiar with the Autobots and we know how everything works, there's almost none of that epic surprise moment. Where the first one scored points, it doesn't do so well here. What makes this film good is the action, which is still plenty and still awesome, even if it still remains far behind the finale from the previous installment. Besides, there is less of it here as the film slows down the pace. From a certain point on, it became quite uninteresting for me and downright drawn out towards the end. The plot is quite weak. Unfortunately Transformers as a franchise failed in my eyes. The first was revolutionary and great, but this one is "only" good. It's still good though and for someone looking for action I can recommend it.

Transformers Revenge Of the Fallen: I remember this being so much better as a kid. Ugh it hurts because the other ones are so much better than this one. The only thing it really has is the fights but it gets ruined also because Optimus dies but he comes back to life. But the whole thing with Sam seeing a bunch of stuff because he touched the All Spark it’s so dumb. If you want to see it just look up the fights online that is all it has going for it. Also Megan Fox is hot.

The action is great again, in the end even crazy. **** characters are not well written, some are even annoying, especially in the beginning. The story is also typical for a mainstream AAA movie: told too fast to show only action, suspense and emotions. Boring. And the humour was also bad and childish. A more serious and adult atmosphere would fit better to Transformers. Also the US military propaganda is so obvious

I really wanted to enjoy this movie just like the first one, but unfortunately it's very weird and there are so many dumb jokes. There is some action in some parts I guess, but most of the time it's just uninteresting dialogue, as if the movie doesn't take itself seriously at all, very underwhelming and boring.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I will rise and you will fall. Even bigger, cooler and explosions are everywhere. The film is more realistic than the first part. If everything there was twisted around the relationship between the guy and the robots, then in the second part it is already a war for planet Earth.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a typical sequel. There are more explosions and battles. But the plot as it was not so and not. And the second time this is not so impressive. Delirium in history has become even more. The main point in the sequels is to give something new to the story. Adding even more explosions is unlikely to satisfy viewers over 14 years old.

When I had heard everyone say that Transformers movies keep getting worse as time moves on I was actually very hesitant to watch this. I really liked the first movie so there was no way I could believe that THIS franchise could possibly be bad (although I did see that later on, I didn't see it here). In my review of the first movie I said how I got interested in the Transformers franchise after watching it, since I didn't know this was actually a toys company and not an anime series. If that movie was just the introduction, this was where the real action takes place. I saw Revenge of the Fallen on Amazon Prime soon after the first one. I only had one week left before my Prime subscription would expire, so I had only decided to dedicate this time to watching all the Transformers movies so that I could understand what this franchise is all about. Unlike the future movie this one actually expanded on what was established at the first movie. Although the human characters were not as interesting as the previous movie and the story was also pretty much empty, the action scenes completely made up for it. As usual the CGI and action was very good. The new characters introduced were fun to watch. I really like to see it when new characters are brought in and given their own character development as they transform into cool cars. However not everything about this movie was good. Like I said above the human characters were not as interesting. The entire blood about Sam going to college and his parents continuously pestering him was very annoying. This was the last time we got to see Mikaela, which is also something very sad IYKWIM. This movie was able to explain very well the entire concept of Transformers, something that the prequel fail to do so. Before I used to think that Autobots and Decepticons are supposed to be cars, but now I know that they are actually robots which can turn themselves into whatever they see in front of them. I would definitely give a rewatch afterwards sometime in the future whenever I have to show this franchise to a new generation.

This may be controversial, but I believe Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is one of the best films in the franchise. This film is slightly messy, but only if you don't pay attention. The movie isn't finished yet, and you can tell; there are some funny awkward jokes strewn around, and there are a few minor narrative holes here and there, but I can see where they're heading, and I LOVE it. The plot is very interesting to explore, including the history of Transformers and the lasting effects of that legacy that transcends time. Also you will not find better action in any other film than in this one; the action is nonstop and visually appealing and it will keep you at the edge of your seat. All in all, my childhood favorite and an actually enjoyable watch.

I wrote a longer review before, but I think I had site problems because it isn't showing up. The shorter version is I had fun at some parts, but overall I didn't have a great time. Mostly the dialogue for the humans didn't sit right with me and I wish the transformers had more screentime. The Fallen felt to me like a generic villain though. In my perspective I found many scenes beautiful with well constructed visuals and cool action, but I didn't have the most fun. I do understand why many like this movie, but it's not for me.

I saw this yesterday (finally!) This is one heck of a sequel. I was absolutely amazed. I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. The good: the effects (zowie!), better jokes and Sam's mom was hysterical. The "twins" also added some great humor. The bad: filming crews tend to forget that when they film with their backs to the sun, they can still be seen. In several scenes, you could see the film crew shadows. Also, in the opening scene, the action was so fast it was hard to tell who was who and it ended too quickly. The ending also screeched to a halt. It could have used a little more cool-down time. The ugly: I also took my two kids (8 and 6). There was, unfortunately, more language in this one and a lot more sexual jokes-- good thing the kids are too young to understand them. There was one scene that I had to cover their eyes because it was a little gross for them. But overall, they loved it. Then I started talking to some people and some are calling it racist. Personally, I have no idea where they're getting that from. But you'll always find people who complain no matter what. These are probably the same people that said "The Lion King" was racist too. This is a perfect summer flick: amazing effects, well-timed humor and characters you could feel for. All in all, I loved it and I'll definitely see it again.

This movie is a mixed bag for me. I don't think it is an atrocity against humanity like so many critics do. Having said that, I don't think it is that great either. Easily the best thing about this movie are the action sequences; the opening scene in Shanghai, the forest battle and the throwdown in Egypt (for the most part) save this movie from being a total fail. But, the story is at best the second-worst in the franchise (maybe the Last Knight is worse). Plus, this movie is unnecessarily sexual, and John Turturro's cheeks... just why, Bay? Yeah, this is a mediocre movie with some phenomenal action.

This one was so much worse then the first one that I had to leave the theater and make sure I wasn't dreaming. First off, this film is very VERY racist in so many parts. Also there are so many sex euphemisms that I'm surprised it never received an R or even an X rating. The plot, oh wow, did someone never even study up on Transformers lore for this, has to do with The Matrix and blowing up the sun... what? This was the last Transformers movie I ever went to see, predicting that others would follow the same formula. That's right, after the first one they all just follow the same plot structure and don't do anything different.

Very Disappointing Though Revenge Of The Fallen has beautiful visuals, Fun action (Especially the forest fight), A badass soundtrack, and the performances of Cullen and Weaving. Sadly it is a massive disappointment with a poorly written script, annoying human characters, humor that is unfunny 85% of the time, and questionable stereotypes.
