A committed performance by David Harbour can't save this movie from being absolutely atrocious. The montages of sequences can't even count as a plot and a grotesque second act will melt your brain. Bury this film and may it rot in piece.

This is the quintessential Transformers film. Breathtaking visual effects, standout performances by Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry, and a tragic backstory for the franchise's two iconic characters make Transformers One the best entry in the series. This is a fantastic watch!

A step down from its immediate predecessor, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is a fun time due to its mix of awesome visuals, intense action, and great performances across the board. Not even a predictable plot can keep this film down.

I thought the Transformers films were dead. I was proven wrong with Bumblebee. This film shines with gorgeous visual effects, grounded action, and an incredible performance by Hailee Steinfeld. Bumblebee revs up the engine of Transformers back to life.

Amplifying everything wrong with the franchise to an 11, Transformers: The Last Knight is the painful swan song to Michael Bay's film series. Not even Peter Cullen's performance is enough to make up for a nonsensical plot and one-dimensional characters. May this series rest in peace.

The Transformers movies are back and somehow worse than Revenge of the Fallen. Transformers: Age of Extinction is an exhausting film that is watchable due to the impressive visual effects, decent action, and a fantastic Peter Cullen. This is definitely the movie to turn your brain off to.

A slight improvement of its predecessor, Transformers: Dark of the Moon is the perfect popcorn flick. The insane visuals and high-octane action carry the plot into an explosive final act. If the film series ended here, it would've made for a mostly-satisfying run.

The writer's strike of 2008 is clear in this film. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen features a non-existent plot, thinly-veiled characters, hollow performances, gorgeous visual effects, and awesome action all at once. Peter Cullen and Hugo Weaving are amazing as usual. The good and the bad cancel each other out to make an okay movie.

Michael Bay is at his absolute best in Transformers. The by-the-numbers plot is countered by committed performances from the cast and an even greater portrayal of Optimus Prime by Peter Cullen. Insane visual effects and breathtaking action make this the quintessential summer blockbuster.

A childhood classic and source of generational trauma, The Transformers: The Movie is the pinnacle of 80s cartoon flicks. Fast action, good characters, a decent plot, and brisk pace make this an enjoyable watch. This is easily among the best of the Transformers films.

Mostly frustrating and if at all hilarious, Matt Walsh's film about a timely topic in America is a snooze fest. When his humor hits, it gets extremely repetitive. Am I Racist? feels like a significant step down from superior movies like Borat. If you're looking to own the libs and melt your brain into mush, this movie is for you!

James Cameron's nearly two-decade long franchise is back. Bolstering intoxicating special effects, realized characters, fantastic performances, thrilling action, and a somewhat familiar, story Avatar: The Way of Water is Cameron's best work yet. Just don't make me wait another thirteen years for the next one!

Sinners

Sinners is Ryan Coogler's first original film and a foray into the Southern gothic genre. While a vampire film on the surface, it's so much more. This movie is an incredibly resonant piece of the way in which both music and superstition are interwoven in the southern Black culture. Incredible performances from Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, and newcomer Miles Caron stand out among great performances from everyone else. Ludwig Göransson's beautiful score, incredible visual flair, and Coogler's masterclass in directing elevate this to the top of genre films. Sinners is a perfect film that you won't want to miss!

A Minecraft Movie surpised me in many ways. It has wonderful performances from the two leads and good ones from the rest of the cast. Great visual effects, humor that hits *most* of the time, and even a dash of Jennifer Coolidge make for an amazing time at the movies!
