Pet Sematary: Bloodlines

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines tastes a bit better than a nothingburger, but lacks seasoning that you’d hope for from something tied to Stephen King’s bibliography.

It’s competently acted and made – her direction easily trumps her writing – and while there’s nothing close to suspense, there are some effectively visceral moments of gore.

Memorable? Hardly. Entertaining? Somewhat. Ultimately, the film will resonate with the people eager to devour more Stephen King-inspired projects; sadly, there is nothing genuinely inspired to enjoy.

“Who asked for this?” is the question such projects invoke, and Lindsey Anderson Beer’s film never comes up with a satisfying answer.

The generic moniker proves accurately foreboding for the run-of-the-mill film, one that desperately latches onto the goodwill of a familiar title but has nothing meaningful to add to its legacy.

First-time director Lindsey Anderson Beer and her co-adapter Jeff Buhler have some nice ideas that never quite gel.

All the emotional beats from start to finish are just completely unearned — it's as if every foundational aspect of a good horror story has been washed away, too.

I don't know this seemed quite boring in general and like very predictable and nothing new. I managed to watch it, but didn't feel like I enjoyed that I did it.

The movie is an uninspiring film that adds nothing new to the original story. The director's attempt to extract a narrative from King's original tale using Timmy has resulted in a subpar film that is unlikely to be remembered in the future.

Once again, we are faced with the surprisingly poor results of a prequel that it is hard to imagine that anyone would have enthusiastically wished for.Back in 2019, I voiced my criticism because the new adaptation of Pet Sematary had not mentioned anything about Timmy Baterman's character. Especially since his tragedy was posited as an essential element in conveying to Louis Creed the consequences of burying his daughter in the **** is paradoxical that that story was omitted, considering that it's precisely the one that brings this prequel to **** the results? Nefarious. The movie is slow and poorly structured. Filled with ludicrous and ineffective **** had the story, didn't know what to do with it, or rather didn't know how to do anything worthy with it, resulting in yet another disappointing entry to the film realm under the name Pet Sematary.

There's nothing to like here, it's not scary or compelling. it just has a general mediocre feel from start to finish. This franchise should just stop already.

Never seen a Pet Sematary before but this all seemed incredibly stupid. Not sure what was going on with the lore, no scares to speak of. Blah.
