In a lot of ways, the movie itself is a lot like the kitchen that Tony primarily takes place in. It's crass, it's loud, it's messy, and yet, you end up with something profound, beautiful, and exciting on your plate.

here's a tightrope walk here that Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers deftly pull off in their script, and Cretton translates flawlessly into a motion picture. Do I wish there was maybe a little less going on? Sure. Spider-Man doesn't need this much happening around him to make a great movie (as we've seen for more than two decades). But if the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues marching forward, this should be the blueprint for how to set up a future without sacrificing your present.

Sure, the revenge story itself doesn't reinvent the wheel, but the no-dialogue approach and emphasis on sound and visuals make it even closer to the Buster Keaton movies that the John Wick franchise repeatedly pays homage to. It feels like another logical step in Ritchson's career as an action superstar, and one that will undeniably recruit even more of a dedicated following.

It's not groundbreaking, nor is it going to live in the ranks of the greatest sports comedies of all time. But it offers enough laughs and charm to keep you entertained for much longer than a pickleball match.

Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender may be just as stunning if not even more visually appealing than the other Avatar franchise it often gets confused with. However, like that franchise, its narrative is just serviceable enough, especially if one isn't already invested in this complex world. Regardless of its narrative issues, which are overall minor compared to other big legacy sequels, the film is so visually riveting that it truly deserved a wider theatrical run.

Glossy, dramatic, but always big-hearted, it is the kind of teen drama that offers an idealized glimpse of the future for queer youth at a time when that is sorely needed. It may not be especially revelatory, but it serves as a feel-good conclusion for a beloved show that will no doubt be many people’s comfort watch for years to come.

Nolan prides himself on being a storyteller, and here he pays tribute to the medium that made him a prolific figure in pop culture. He wouldn't be here without a story to tell, so it's only fitting that he has told a story that has endured throughout the eons as only he can. The fact that he executed it at this level is certainly a feat that others will tell their own stories about.

The characters have depth, the action, scares, and comedy are all in line with of Sam Raimi's signature style, and it has a third act that is nothing short of unforgettable. In truth, there is one word and one word only that can accurately describe Evil Dead Burn: Groovy.

Despite a few fun, solidly executed musical sequences and a nice tribute to Polynesian culture, Moana ultimately fails to capture the magic of its animated counterpart. Everything it does well, the 2016 version already did better.

Couture poses as a rare character drama centered on a middle-aged woman. But while Maxine is a complex character, Couture isn't a character study. Instead, Winocour (who has made memorable movies about complex women before) goes for a critique of the fashion and film industries that ultimately has little to say about either.
