Well this was a logical and natural sequel to the first movie. But when you look at it with perspective, no major scenario or important events are happening. Just protagonists fighting creatures... the apparition of Cillian Murphy was a plus

Some great acting, especially from the deaf actress again. Another good, suspenseful film in this franchise that kept me watching to the end, and made me crave for more. Well worth watching.

A Quiet Place Part II is a great sequel to Part I. Sequels are usually not as good as their predecessor, and this is accurate here, but the difference is not big. Both of them are enjoyable movies. The story is simple and I like that they showed us their version of Day One in the beginning, so that we would remember who we had lost in the first movie. Emmett is a great character, it's very realistic that a person like him would be selfish. The acting is still on point from every one of the actors, especially of course Emily Blunt. The cinematography is very stylish, the same kind of shots are repeated throughout to film, but they are very good, this stylishness creates a tone. The sound effects still continue to be awesome. John Krasinski wrote the film in a way to make it as tense as possible and this caused some awful character decisions, which frustrated me in a few occasions. A Quiet Place Part II has its flaws, but it's a great sequel to the first movie.

The beginning is okay, though rushed. One second, baseball, the next second, monsters. And everyone figures out to be utterly silent almost immediately. The rest of the movie is trying to be quiet as though your life depends on it, and not being quiet at every opportunit. The worst is the son, the kid who is wide eyed, nostrels flared, simpering or crying in every scene. I wanted to slap him. Too bad, could have been a cool movie but just too formulaic.

Part 1 of A Quiet Place is one of the freshest post-apocalyptic horror dramas I've watched in recent memory; Part 2, remarkably, manages to carry that atmosphere forward, imbuing more frenetic action thanks to a bigger budget. Louder than its predecessor, Part 2 still has masterful sound design and character arcs, especially for the young ones in the cast. Anchored by Emily Blunt's fantastic, measured performance, the Abbott family's second fight for survival weaves a surprising tale of heroics in spite of futility. Cillian Murphy is an excellent addition, but his character's introduction is clunky and his use as primarily a chaperone is the first real misstep the film takes before ending on a high but jagged note. Overall, the themes of isolation, loss, and survival are as potent as ever, and Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe deliver stellar performances that embody the core story of taking back control regardless of the dangerous horror they'll have to face on the way.

This is purely a continuation of the first film, it's basically the same. It's very stressful with every positive moment almost immediately destroyed and any hope crashes. The production is incredibly high value and very well made. The acting, writing and visual effects are especially good. It's the stress that loses some marks for me, the tone is just too bleak. Worth watching, especially if you liked part one as this does expand the world and continue the story. If you didn't like or haven't seen the first film then don't even think about this one!

John Krasinski is able to pull of a worthy continuation of his previous work with a greatly directed film. Plot is not as strong, with a couple of holes that interfere with the worlds premises, altough character development seems cohesive. Acting is, once again, brilliant. Can't wait for part III.

Decent movie. The story is so --so, scoring is great, visual is decent, and the voice is also great

I thought it was a good movie, the acting overall was great, the cinematography and set pieces were great, but I feel like this film needed an extra 40 mins to flesh out the charecters and story more, as I didnt really feel much connection with them.

One of the best monster horor films i ve watched in a long time.Really liked the first one but i liked this even beter,it was a pleasant surprise considering the mixed reviews.Charachters seem real and so are their reaction which is rear in films or shows nowadays and the script is good and solid with no plot holes.Hope we see part 3 in the series.

I enjoyed this one probably a bit more than the first. The acting, the score, the thrills are all amazing. The first 10 minutes are phenomenal. Can't wait for the next one.

An excellent sequel to A Quiet Place. It's hard to top what was achieved in the original movie, but this one offers an equally breathtaking experience.

Good acting and direction but the screenplay needed several more rewrites because the script is really bad.

A Quiet Place Part II. Shut up or die. John Krasinski may have taken into account all the experience of the first part and this time created a truly even more interesting and intriguing sequel. Although again the whole plot can be told in a couple of minutes, but in terms of cinema it is very skillfully stretched, which is interesting to watch every frame and really don’t want the film to end, because (small spoiler) you understand that there will be a continuation that you will have to wait again. You also worry about each character, especially after that incident at the very beginning of the first part.

I get it ppl like the actors or visuals but this movie is simply overrated. Had this movie happened or not, nothing would have changed because of the end. At times it feels like a copy of quiet place 1, the character still make incredibly dumb and unrealistic choices. Quiet place 1 was overrated but at least even given its horrible choices was likeable, quiet place 2 is just awfull. Also , i want to see humans vs aliens or zombies, i'm tired of humans vs humans, walking dead made that incredibly boring and annoying to me.

This sequel doesn't quite have the same tension and atmosphere the original had. There's more CGI and it sorts of starts and stops quite abruptly. Its watchable and the cast give decent performances, particularly the children (the deaf teenage girl I thought was particularly good) but it doesn't have the same feel and its not as good as the first film, so I wouldn't overly recommend it. Oh and it was nice seeing Cillian Murphy in a non Peaky-Blinders role.

So many flaws in this one. From the unnecessary prequel opening that lasted 10 minutes To the incredibly shallow and lifeless plot that lacked the suspense that made the first film so good. This is the definition of a cash grab sequel. It's a 90-minute barebones sequel that could have told the entire story in 30 minutes if need be.

I would like to start of by saying I haven't watched the first movie(but definitely will after watching the second one)so I can only offer my opinion in regards to this movie as a standalone film. The monster designs were actually pretty decent even if you can spot the CGI when they were shot far away and it was kinda bothersome with the background. I enjoyed the idea of being silent but there are some weird cases when something should make a noise but due to plot conveniences doesn't (Rusty doors dont make noise when opened saay whaaat?) Acting for me was pretty average and the actors didn't really shined , music was decent but by the end the plot kinda lost focus and became a bit boring(especially by the end).

La suite directe du premier film… mais sans l’effet de surprise et sans l’unité de lieu qui le caractérisait puisque cette fois-ci, nos survivants vont voir si l’herbe n’est pas plus verte ailleurs… ou du moins… moins dangereuse ! Les créatures très vindicatives sont en effet toujours en patrouille et n’aiment -toujours- pas le moindre bruit… je suis bien d’accord avec elles et c’est exactement ce qu’il nous faudrait pour claquer le beignet des jeunes cons qui font du bruit à toute heure ! Certes, c’est un peu brutal et expéditif mais que voulez-vous… En tout cas, malgré (comme dans le premier) quelques éléments de scénario qui font tiquer, le rythme est dans l’ensemble sensiblement meilleur et l’on ne s’ennuie pas un instant. La réalisation est très solide (claire et efficace) et les effets spéciaux toujours convaincants. Je regrette un peu que la -toujours- si jolie Emily n’ait pas vraiment le rôle le plus important dans cette suite, loin de là même… mais bon, on fait avec. On sent bien que c’est ce maudit polichinelle qui pose problème (cette manie qu’elles ont de se mettre à pondre, ces gonzesses, y compris en plein monde post-apocalyptique, c’est dingue…) même s’il sert évidemment de prétexte à bien des évènements… A part ça, rien de vraiment nouveau si je puis dire, notamment la conclusion très similaire au premier film… on nous ressert carrément la même chose à dire vrai ! Cela dit, ça reste tout à fait divertissant… mais il ne faudrait pas un numéro 3 parce que ça tournerait vraiment en rond, tout ce bazar !

The first act was incredible, I had my heart in my throat because was so tense and brimming, but the second and third act was ok.

Not as good as the original, but I liked Part 2 so much I saw it 3 times in theaters so there's that.

Very rarely do we see movies today that are better than the trailers. Even rarer is a sequel better than the original. This movie is a huge exception. I'm a fan of Krasinski now!

Just as compelling and intense as the first, A Quiet Place Part II extends the franchise that is destined to be one of the best in the history of the horror genre.

I couldn't surpass the previous work. I think that the tension that will be killed if you do not keep quiet will be the maximum value in the previous work, but I think that the tension in the previous work will be alleviated if there are no new elements in the second work. As long as it is revealed that the weakness of the creature is howling, if there is no other factor, the prediction of the story itself will be valid, and that prediction will ease the tension.

Following a short epilogue taking us back to the origins of the alien species arrival on Earth, A Quiet Place Part II continues on directly from the original movie with the surviving members of the Abbott family having to leave the farm they’ve called home for the last year. The first movie took an intriguing premise and delivered an effective, if slightly unevenly paced horror movie. This sequel certainly ups the pace, but in the process it tries to fit a little too much into an hour and a half with many ideas being underdeveloped leading to a rather abrupt ending. Despite these issues the formula still makes for a relatively entertaining watch with a number of very effective and tense scenes, and it seems to set things up for a third movie to end the trilogy.

Una muy digna secuela, contiene más tensión que su antecesora, más sustos y más dinamismo, la carga narrativa de la historia es más llevadera al ser más convencional reduciendo el lenguaje de señas casi a cero, esto último se vió mucho en su primera parte y fue uno de los elementos más innovadores y destacados de dicha película, lo malo es que al final no hay ninguna conclusión y habrá que esperar nuevamente que sigue después.

I watch the first movie and love it and when I watch part 2 love it even **** a great story for this movie and now I hope some company makes a game from this movie.

As a huge fan of the first film, it being my number 1 film of the year it came out, naturally I was ecstatic to get the chance to finally see this in the theater. As of writing this, I have seen this film twice in the cinema. Once on a big XD screen and again on a regular sized screen. Both times I was 100% enthralled and taken into the story-telling. Prior to both viewings, i rewatched the first film and I have to say - it’s such a perfect follow up. And I even think, for me, I might even like it a little bit more. I think Part 2 does for A Quiet Place what Empire Strikes Back did for Star Wars. Sure, you need that first film. Without that, some of the emotional elements might not work as well, but this film follows through so brilliantly until it’s conclusion which leaves you hanging on hoping that there is more to come. I really hope there is a part 3 on its way. By far my favorite film of 2021 so far. I highly recommend watching it/these movies.

A Quiet Place was the most surprising hit in 2018. It gave us something refreshingly new in the horror franchise and it was best of all, a great movie. When a sequel was announced, I wasn't remotely surprised and was also thrilled about it. The premise is "Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path". So does the sequel live up to the first movie? Firstly, the returning actors Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe are still great in their roles as the Abbott family. Special praise to Noah as there is a scene where he gets hurt and his acting made it seem like he was in actual pain. Their characters also have great character evolution from the first movie. Evelyn Abbott (Emily Blunt) goes from the mother in distress to being the one who has to lead their family. Regan Abbott (Millicent Simmond) now embodies the heroism that her father had and is more forward to helping others. Marcus Abbott (Noah Jupe) is an interesting one as he was always a more frightened character in the first movie and part 2 seems to become more fearful due to the loss of his father. He does have an arc in this movie and it is very satisfying to watch him transform. Cillian Murphy is the newest addition and he is great. He is the opposite of Lee Abbott (John Krasinski) as he plays someone who is a hardened survivor who has little hope, but not zero, for the world. Cillian conveys this pained character perfectly and is a great new protagonist for the sequel. Additionally, everything else I loved from the first movie is also here. The tension in each set piece is here, the great sound design is here, the effective use of the music score is here, the use of visual storytelling is here, the emphasis on characters and some great monster action is also here. A Quiet Place Part 2 also has an amazing introduction scene that might be one of the best starts to a movie I've seen in a long time. What this sequel does new is that it starts expanding more of the world-building as we see more of the outside world. I like that we get scenes showing day 1 of when the monsters came and I also like that we get to see more different survivors in this new world. If I do have to force myself for some flaws then one would be that it feels a lot less scary than the first movie. While a lot of the monster action in the first movie was in closed and claustrophobic areas, here it is in more open areas which reduces a lot of the scare. There is also something that happens midway which results in two different storylines and perspectives. One perspective is more story focused and the more interesting one while the other is just there to give the other characters a monster set piece. It results in less plot cohesion compared to the first movie. There is also a problem from the first movie that is still here which is some characters still do dumb things. It's not a typical horror movie dumb decision but it can annoy you a bit. There are also some silly things in the plot if you think about it too hard so you got to suspend your belief a little to enjoy the movie. Another small problem I have is the VERY ABRUPT ending. It felt like there should have been at least 5 more minutes of scenes after to give a more satisfying ending. The first movie had an ending that left it open for a potential sequel but was a complete and satisfying ending that didn't need a sequel. Here the ending is a very blatant sequel hook that 100% warrants a sequel as that was not complete at all. Overall, if you love the first movie then you are definitely going to like part II. Everything that I loved in the first movie is here. While it doesn't do a lot new or better than the 1st, it does the things that made it great in the first place and does it well. While it isn't as great as the first movie, none of the flaws stated take away from the experience. I thoroughly enjoyed A Quiet Place Part II and cannot wait for part 3 or any spinoffs being planned.

Watched both movies today, both very solid. It's amazing what you can do with so little dialog. A ton of solid acting and action. There were some scenes in this one where you knew things were going to happen because the characters did something so stupid you knew it was going to get them in trouble.

Though not as good as its predecessor (in my opinion due to the higher budget) it is overall a tense rollercoaster that will have audiences at the edge of their seat.

Así a bote pronto, pese a no ser un gran consumidor del género, es de las mejores películas de terror que he visto, puede entrar fácilmente en mi top 5. Distancia bastante de la primera parte, aunque mantiene su esencia, pero prima mucho más el diálogo, según yo. Las actuaciones son bastante buenas, un gran salto de calidad con Cillian Murphy. Y en cuanto a la trama, está bastante guay, quizás un poco forzada, más de cara al final, pero me gusta en todas sus partes, siendo eso, la conclusión, digamos, algo abrupta. Cosas positivas: La tensión y cómo la miden, va muy al grano y no se va por los laureles, muy buen lenguaje cinematográfico y el reparto. Cosas malas: Quizás hay alguna incoherencia en el guion, y el final es algo disparatado para lo que es el resto de la película. Conclusión: Lo dicho, tendría que comprobarlo, pero quizás entre en mi top de terror, y para mí, ha superado a la primera, mucho más concisa, te cuenta lo que te tiene que contar, y ya. Recomendadísima.

the ending is terrible, the story is a mixture of a origins story on how the creatures invaded i felt the they kids was the most annoying parts of the movie just inviting trouble in there safe place and wandering off just dumb stuff it really took me out of the movie compared to the first movie.

This was not a great movie. It was entertaining enough, but it was way too close to the first one in pacing and doesn’t have the courage to bring any real closure to the story. You know, just incase it’s also a surprise hit. I can’t wait for part III, “A Quiet Place In Space Where It Doesn’t Matter If You Scream Because, Well No One Can Hear You…” There were some interesting parts to the story, but I could see plot turns coming. Everything was telegraphed this time. The worst part for me was the opening sequence. I just didn’t care what was happening “then” after having already watched the first movie. It’s mostly only there to setup an introduction to a new character and the more I thought about it the less I cared for the extra back story. It’s not as interesting as what’s happening “now.” That opening is also Shyamalan-esque in it’s film making ****, i.e the way it’s shot to draw out the mundane so that we can remember what our actual moment to moment lives are like…while watching it represented on film. If you saw the first one and wouldn’t mind a little more of the same then you might enjoy this. I didn’t think that there was enough to get out of it personally so I can’t recommend it otherwise.

“Run!” ‘A Quiet Place: Part II’ is a solid follow up to the first movie, which is no easy task to do. Even though I did feel it was the exact same film as Part I, but this time with some new characters added to the cast. Although, in terms of character development, much stronger and expands on certain elements from the first movie. But still, despite being called ‘A Quiet Place’ it wasn’t quite...well, quiet. John Krasinski has shown great promise as a director from the first movie and with the sequel it goes to show it wasn’t a fluke. Krasinski has the craftsmanship of building tension with the payoff being incredibly satisfying. He also knows how to work with actors effectively and get the best performances out of everyone. The amazing Emily Blunt is once again amazing. The two child stars Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe are both excellent with strong careers ahead of them. The new addition to the cast is Cillian Murphy, who is terrific as the deeply troubled old friend of Lee (Lee being John Krasinski’s character, just in case you didn’t know). The sound work, like the first, is fantastic and heightens the little details. While the first movie focused more on silentness with the sound of a pin drop being the loudest thing ever in this “new world”. But this time the movie plays more into sound and the environment being noisier, hence where the sound work is front and centre. The cinematography looked beautiful and striking once again. So basically, everything on a technical level is superb. However, I have my issues with the movie. The movie can be predictable at times, in terms of how certain scenes will play out and how things will be solved. With the genre being horror, it can be very annoying when the movie falls into old tropes. Such as characters making stupid or questionable decisions that narrative wise makes no sense, other than push the plot forward. That’s horror for you. Also, a thing to note here, since the daughter is deaf, how does she know how much noise she is making? Like, if her footsteps are making noise or the doors or window, she pushes open. What if a door makes a creaking or squeaking sound? My bedroom door literally creeks and squeaks whenever I open or close the door, and the entire household can hear it, so imagine what that means for the “sound killing monsters” that’s around. So really, she’s at risk and shouldn’t be going out on her own. Other than that, putting aside my issues, I still think this is a solid sequel that’s worth checking out. If you like the first one, then you’re going to like this one. If not, then I don’t know what to say to you. It’s up to you, I guess. Overall rating: LOUD NOISES!

A Quiet Place Part II is a sequel that deserves the title ''A respectable sequel'' because it doesn't need to exaggerate anything that was introduced: monsters, survival and the curiosity of how people would deal with a quiet world. It enlarges its universe in a subtle and bold way, presenting the big reason why the film decided to choose that specific surviving family from the first film. The acting is something impressionable, with the deserved talent of how its actors manage to express such true reactions to the dangers presented. The monster look continues with the same detail as the first film, but with several other camera games and more scene choreography before using CGI. The soundtrack is neither intrusive nor tedious, it manages to provoke the tension that is mandatory in the film, and it helps to enhance various scenes. The only drawback for me is the use of too many scenes where the person is saved at the last minute. I understand it's to make the scene more tense and give us goosebumps, but when you use it several times, you can already know that those characters are going to be saved, even if they're just a second away from being killed. That said, A Quiet Place Part II is a highly acclaimed sequel that is really worth having to wait until the third part of this trilogy.

I dont understand how is this 7/10 movie according to most people and critics here. I am just confused. Maybe I need to see the first one but really as a standalone movie this is going nowhere.
