It's too greedy with the story line. And the ending is a bit too open to interpretation I think. But i liked the overall vibe of the movie. And had the puzzle pieces been put together a bit clearer I would probably have loved the entire movie quite a lot more as well. Not a bad movie though. Just too much filler where it's just showing weird stuff in the rooms without progressing anything.

Silly movie title aside this is a pretty good movie. It has a few interesting plot twists and even contain some layers that you don't expect. The plot progression feels pretty linear which is a good thing. It's no spoiler that the movie has a Groundhog Day style plot. And each new loop feels significant enough that you don't get bored with ****'s also not just an action movie. It has other stuff going on as well that I won't go further into as not to spoil anything. But it has a heart. And I appreciate **** only real downside for me was that the "bad guy" character was a bit too obvious and obnoxious. And some of the "reveals" could be guessed quite a bit ahead of time.

Read the book twice. Appreciate both the book and the movie. The book does the technical stuff better. The movie does the emotional stuff better. The only thing that made me a bit annoyed with the movie is the constant slapstick acting. I don't mind that there's a lot of humor in the movie. It's basically sci-fi comedy. But when Grace starts throwing sensitive equipment over his shoulder because "it must be broken" even though it isn't I got a bit annoyed. I mean, he's on a spaceship. Pretty important mission. Sensitive equipment is scarce. And he starts just breaking things for the heck of it? Rocky is fantastic. Love the character. Very true to the book. Exactly how I envisioned him in my mind when reading it for the first time. Great movie, although a bit longish.

I like a lot of the stuff Raimi has done in the past. But this one is pretty bad. The whole intro with the overly "nerdy" main character who gets snubbed by her boss is so cringy I almost couldn't watch it. I mean, they could just have made her nerdy. That whole thing about taking a good-looking woman and then "make her ugly" by scruffing her hair and put her in clothes an old lady would wear is just so annoying to me. And her mannerisms and constant social awkwardness was waaaaay overdone. The only thing I enjoyed from that was the Office Space references.What's even worse is that after the accident she almost removes all of those purportedly awkward mannerisms. It aaalmost feels like she was only aaaacting like a "nerd" for the whole first part of the movie. Blergh... It's just dumb.I'm about one third in and I had to go write this review after the fight with the very obvious CGI piggie. It looked terrible and it was kind of the final nail in the coffin for this movie for me.

I found it to lack focus which lead me to become bored about 20 minutes in. A lot of stuff is happening, but most of it feels like you are listening to the radio while someone is constantly turning the frequency dial. You listen in on a bunch of stuff, but you never really get a feel for any bigger picture.

A premise that's since been done to perfection in No Country For Old Men, this movie is sort of lingering between good and dull. The first hour is quite interesting. The inevitable convolutions and escalations keep you interested. But then you realize the movie is only half-way and it just keeps piling stuff on top where nothing really serves to provide for interesting plot progressions. It's just more of the **** that's basically what the last hour of the movie is. Just the same kind of stuff being repeated over and over again until it ends in a bit of a whimper. Nothing **** it does have its moments and the idea of the movie is decent enough. But when you have watched No Country For Old Men this movie comes off as toothless. Now I know this one came first. So maybe if I'd seen it first I'd judge it differently. Alas, I didn't.

It's too hectic and the plot feels disjointed with too little emotional impact. The partnership between the main characters are too one-sided to the point of being annoying. I liked the first one. This one feels like a repeat but much less fun and interesting. I could only watch halfway until I gave up on it.

It's an absolutely bonkers movie. It's actually quite intriguing to watch although there's a mile-wide plot hole that you kind of have to just shrug off almost from the very beginning. But the tone and interesting plot takes a serious deep-dive towards the end. And the ending itself is just so out there that even the movie itself realizes this and basically turns it into a British comedy mixed with nods to Bad Taste and Braindead. Ultimately the movie is entertaining, although it struggles to keep a straight face at the end.

I like it. It doesn't quite hold the emotional impact of the original movie when it comes to the strong characters. No-one can ever come close to Kurtwood Smith's original slimy bad-guy Clarence ****. That "Nenenenene" (every fan knows what I mean) is just so **** in that way the movie chooses a different path. It's more about what it means to bring someone back almost entirely as a robot and how that impacts everyone around him / it. The original movie did this too, but to a much lesser extend. So that in itself makes it worth a watch.

Started out strong. The premise is interesting and the effects are disgustingly good. But at one point it reaches a crossroad and chooses the wrong path ahead. And that's where it starts to drag and basically just vanishes into obscurity with little regard to carry an interesting plot.

Better than I expected. Loved the world building they did with the first part of the movie. Great acting throughout, especially from the female characters. I feared it would become too much like Alien when the inevitable horror part of the movie kicked in. But I actually found it to be just the right amount of Alien, and just the right amount of Aliens.

I kind of lost interest when I found that they kept putting the main character on a stage by himself. I found myself wondering why they didn't add a band around him from the start. The movie would have been so much better for it. While the music of The Beatles is, obviously, in a category by itself, this movie doesn't do a very good job of making those songs work on the screen. Or rather on the stage. Some of the scenes where the songs are performed for a small crowd works pretty well. But the scenes where he gets on stage are just bad. Then there's all the other stuff with him apparently being completely blind towards his "manager". It's just silly. And his family being the most disrespecful bunch. It's... Exhausting to watch.

The movie is slow but doesn't feel like it is (meaning it's not boring). The story is interesting and the interwoven timelines, although slightly confusing at times, helped to keep the story interesting. It kept you guessing at what or where the plot was at. It actually worked quite well in my **** acting is great from all involved although the characters of the city did come off as a bit one-sided. I didn't really mind though, as it helped establish the who's who early on so the plot could concentrate more on the main characters and their **** feels like a western that enjoys a certain amount of authenticity, but still manages to stay somewhat lighthearted. This made the grueling scenes stand out even more.Great movie.

The previous one was decent. This one is just one pig pile of confusing stuff happening all the time. It really shows what movies have become these days. Everyone in this movie is a ghostbuster at some point. Proton packs are being thrown around like toys and the action sequences are so exhausting I had a hard time being invested in what was going on. Dial it down please. They make the exact same mistake they did with Star Wars 1. It's as if the director was saying "Hey, why have 1 or 2 of these when we can have 100!!!". It's a trend that just won't die. It feels like this movie has hundreds of characters and neither of them add anything worth following along for. It's just dull. Bottom line: Too much of everything makes the movie confusing and uninteresting.

I wish more movies were like this. Just good-natured fun where you can tell the actors are actually enjoying themselves. It's bonkers! It's silly! And it's a lot of fun to watch. So many fantastic characters. So much satire. I love it!

Starts out strong but then turns into a slog. Stuff happens but nothing really happens. It's just repeating misery, hunger, ravines and failed attempts to "get somewhere". And it's just hard to believe the hunger and misery when the actors appear healthy and warm most of the time. They might act cold and hungry, but they don't look it. Now, I don't expect actors to all go full Christian Bale and loose 20 kilos so I guess it's just how it had to be. Ultimately the movie is just very boring.

With Nolan's usual Nolanisms this movie does a near-perfect job at portraying the narrative surrounding Oppenheimer throughout his career. And his inner workings as well. We get an eerily grim look at what it means to be The Father of the Atom Bomb. When it comes to the character of Oppenheimer nothing escapes this movie. Everything from the moral complexities to the politics is investigated to the last detail. Which is also the slight problem this movie has. There is a lot of "time travel" in this movie. And oftentimes scenes are cut in a way that makes it feel like the characters are having conversations with each other through the fabric of time. It speaks well into the idea of quantum mechanics. So in that respect it's spot-on for the theme of the movie. But it is also slightly confusing to follow along with it. And ultimately that leaves about 1 third of the movie in a bit of a weird half-confusing / dull limbo. At least to me. I'd have liked it to focus more on the mechanics of developing the bomb itself. It didn't exactly glance over it as much as it neglected to focus on it. The parts are there but it rarely goes beyond merely mentioning their breakthroughs in conversation until we get to the initial big boom. And that's probably a fault of my own expecting these things to be elaborated upon. The movie is called Oppenheimer and not The Manhattan Project after all. So a heads up if you, like me, expect it to focus on The Manhattan Project. It does, but it's only a relatively short part of the movie and it is deliberately focused on Oppenheimer's character more so than the bomb itself during these parts.

Overstays its welcome quite a bit. It dissolves into the usual cgi-heavy, weightless action nonsense that so many movies tend to do these days. The first hour is pretty good and actually has some decent and emotional impact. After that it was an action yawn-fest.

Kind of slow, spiritual and very symbolic in nature. I guess that's to be expected when you look at Eggers' previous movies. But it was too slow and too boring for my taste.

Seen this movie twice now. And it is one of the best "realistic" sci-fi films I've ever seen. The acting is good and believable. And the way the movie is put together keeps you on your toes throughout the entire movie. It's never dull. It's never uninteresting. It's constantly surprising and ultimately leaves you wondering: What secrets could Europa actually hold. Fantastic movie for a any space nerd.

When it comes to creature features I don't think it can get any better than Tremors. The practical effects are clever to the point where it's hard not to believe this type of creature is an actual living thing. It's only the occasional physics-rejecting effect that makes it seem a bit off. But even those scenes bring so much to the movie that you can easily ignore it and just go with it. If there ever was a perfectly cast movie, this has to be it. The cast is relatively small which makes it even more important for each character to work to their fullest potential. And each and every one of them do. Bacon undoubtedly brings a lot to the table, but I don't feel like the later movies would have lived up to the first even with Bacon in them. Tremors has a perfect script and perfect pacing. The later movies do not. Not hating on the later movies, as they do have some odd charm to them. But where Tremors is an almost perfect movie, the later movies are more like typical straight-to-VHS movies. They can entertain you, and that's it. It's only this movie from the series I've re-watched countless times. I've seen the later ones, and did somewhat enjoy them. But they are nowhere near this one. This one is... Yes, Perfection. I've watched this movie so many times I've lost count. Watching it while writing this review actually.

The first one was better. This one is entertaining but a bit too confusing. But I still enjoyed watching it! It's not bad, it's just not very good or clever either. It's mostly about a lot of slapstick humor between the characters. And that's why it's entertaining. The plot itself is hard to follow.

As with many horror movies of this style it tends to stumble towards the end when it gets to the last chase scenes. It overstays its welcome. And the final scenes and thereby the last 10 minutes are just unnecessary. The premise, at least on paper, is interesting and has potential for some backwards who-is-who chase scenes. It tries to work some of that in with mixed results. Overall it was entertaining.

This movie took me completely by surprise. I've watched the earlier Puss in Boots movie and frankly found it to be quite dull. But this one is another matter! It's zany, witty, action-packed, sweet and a glory to behold! Sometimes swerving into old-school animation-style scenes during the action where it sort of mimics the style of "Into the Spiderverse" where it runs at about 15 frames per second making it look sort of like stop-motion. It's odd since they use this effect only in fast-paced action sequences and mix it with some almost 2D-centric effects. It works well, but it does take a bit getting used to. But I think I like it! The movie itself starts out a bit slow in the first 10 minutes where we sort of get the usual run-of-the-mill musical scene that always bore me to death. But I now realize that THAT scene was actually quite important for the overall plot of the movie. And the style of it as well. So now I kind of appreciate it being there. But it did make me want to turn the movie off, so I'm glad I stuck with it. I'd heard good things about it, so that made me stay. And I'm glad I did. There's some really fun and lovable characters in this one. And throughout the movie you'll realize that almost the entire movie itself becomes a character transforming and molding itself as the story unfolds. Hard to explain, just watch it! You won't regret it.

I'll give it a 4 for the animation and aesthetics. It is Pixar after all. But the movie itself is not for the majority of the broad Pixar audience. That is to say, this movie is only potentially interesting for girls aged 10-14 who thinks going to a concert with 4 tween-boy idols are "Going to make us women"... It is so cringy. Soooo, soooo cringy. The characters are so flat that I had zero interest in any of them. They seem to try to incorporate some of the emotion characters from Inside - but as actual humans. Doesn't work well. One character being "the angry one" and another character being "the stoic one" and so on. Many reviewers here talk about disliking it for being woke. I couldn't care less. I don't dislike the movie for that as it's not something I tend to even notice. The movie is bad in itself.

The movie is quite interesting all up to the point where they enter the tiny world (about 30 minutes in). Then it becomes a boring drama. I'd expected it to be a bit like "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids", but it is not - not even by a long shot. You don't even know they are in a tiny world during most of the movie. They have everything from TV's to coffee machines and busses. And basically NONE of it looks "small". It's just an ordinary coffee machine and an ordinary TV. I was interested in the tiny concept of the movie. But when that was removed, there was nothing left but a sluggish, sleep-inducing drama.

I have always loved Beavis and Butt-Head. There's something about their complete lack of situational awareness that just brings out the funniest happenings in the situations they end up taking part in. And of course, as always, the main quest is to "do it". The sexual innuendo is so mindbogglingly funny! It's so well done it even somehow plays a part in the plot this time around. Not just for B&B, but also for the surrounding characters who are oblivious to what is going on. It's almost as if two stories are being told at the same time. I love it! I also feel like B&B, despite their simple minds, have always been deeper characters than one might think. I really care for them. This movie is awesome!

It's dark. Very dark. But also touching. And it tears at your seams, wanting you to decide whether to root for one over the other, when there simply is no good answer. A couple of scenes are overacted a bit. Mostly due to the dialog / script. Other than that, it all works pretty well.

It's a little all over the place, both literally and figuratively. It's good silly fun, that's what it is. It has some plot-line issues which will probably make you scratch your head a bit. It's also a little awkward in places. They don't completely master the same style of comedy they do in the original. It's a fine balance and some scenes lack the necessary suspension of disbelief that is required by the actors to fully embrace whatever it is they are acting towards or against. It's not terrible by any means, but you can kind of tell that they don't quite know how to act it out. Some of the action sequences, as it is with modern films, goes completely overboard which always annoys the heck out of me. Less is more movie-industry! Stop it! But despite that, there's a sweet, decently funny and quite interesting story unfolding in the movie. Apart from a couple places where it does seem to loose itself in itself a bit, I was kept entertained. I wouldn't say it's a worthy successor to the original two movies. For that it is simply too much of the same, just in a desert environment. It is, however, a pretty decent tribute, which will make you want to re-watch the original masterpieces. Yes, both of them. I never understood why GB2 is said to be inferior. I love both of them, always have.

An enjoyable ride from start to finish, quite literally. Apart from a few cheesy scenes this is a well-acted, amazingly choreographed and thrilling movie. It does take a few liberties with the story, but it is a movie, so I would expect no less. The overall narrative is that of the real events that occurred, and most of the characters are real people who existed in or around the events. But the really impressive feat of the movie is the racing itself. No matter if you enjoy racing or not, you will be on the edge of your seat biting your fingernails. You really want these guys to succeed. And you might think that's a given. It is not. If you don't know the story of Ken Miles and the 1966 Le Mans, I would highly recommend going in completely blind. Read up on it afterwards if you want. You'll realize that, aside for the over-dramatization of certain events, this movie is pretty accurate in its portrayal of the event and what led up to it.

Definitely better than 1984 Dune - but still pretty bland overall. It feels too pretentious to me. There's unfortunately also a lack of character development. They rush through most of them, which makes them feel robotic, motionless. I did like the scenes with Paul and his mom though. That worked well. Apart from that, I was quite bored throughout most of the movie. But yeah, what bothered me most, was how so many characters got introduced, and if someone decided to turn on their houses in a scene, I just shrugged, because I had no connection with them. I didn't care. A lot of them felt like nothing but plot-carriers.

A fun time, although a bit cringy. It almost seems like a parody of itself. And it does go a bit too overboard here and there with the "trying to explain how this works" dialog. I guess they really wanted to make sure the non-gamers in the audience didn't get lost in all of the concepts at display. And hoo-boy, is there a lot going on. But it kinda works anyway. I mean, it's a computer game. The physical disconnect between the game and the real-world servers it supposedly runs on is quite palpable throughout if you know even a little bit about how those things work. But I can look past it and just go with the flow on this one. It was entertaining enough that I kind of just went "Meh, I guess I'll just roll with it".

This movie might show Harrelson in all of the promos. But know that he is basically in the movie for 10 minutes tops. The lead does a great job, no doubt about that. But I love Harrelson, and was quite disappointed that he is basically only on there to attract attention to the movie. Now, about the movie itself. It's not bad, but it is quite boring. Halfway through I was looking at the time, and realized how much was left. That's when my mind started drifting. The movie simply couldn't keep my interest. There are some pretty well-choreographed fighting scenes in there. But the plot is a run-of-the-mill revenge story. And since non-stop action isn't all that interesting in itself, it has to rely on the between-fights interactions. And that's where it starts falling flat about halfway through. And it never seems to be able to pick itself back up.

I re-watched this today (Well part of it, anyway (Well, actually just the first 15 minutes and the ending)). Been years since I last saw it. I recalled it as being a pretty funny / good movie. But after a little while, after I had yawned so many times I lost count, it dawned on me: Bruce Almighty was "the good" movie I thought this was. I had them mixed up in my head, since Steve is also in Bruce. Bottom line, this movie is an absolute bore. And not only that, the plot is so self-centered that it makes me cringe. The worst part is how Evan collects all of these animals on his ark, for no reason at all! In other words: All of these animals traveled from faraway lands, only to get shoved on a boat made by a workaholic politician, who then abandons them to find their own way home when his egotistic bible-journey is over. Good job! Don't watch this movie.

Waaaay overused "sprout" nickname, silly overused kiss on the fingers and stretch out hand gesture. Annoying fight scenes where Lara kicks less ass than her opponents even though she is trained in martial arts and they are not. She always gets beaten down again and again, and only when the fight has gone on for a while does she start to overtake even a little bit. Why can't she just be bad-ass!? It's infuriating to watch the bad guys get so much head-room. I get that this is sort of an origin story for Lara Croft, so she can't be superb at everything she does. But it just doesn't work well in this case. The overall plot is ok but it's bogged down by clichés. It always does what you guess it will do - quite predictable in a bad way. It also tries to be witty here and there, but it doesn't really work. It's more like dad-joke witty (which can be fun in other contexts mind you) than clever witty. Alicia did a good job as Lara and I'd say she's the only reason to watch the movie. Her performance at least raises the movie to a level where it's watchable. Without her it would be a slog-fest. Yes, it manages to be quite boring too. And the predictability is to blame much of the time. Example: Lara arrives at a port to search for a ship. She carries her bag over one shoulder very loosely. I instantly thought "She gon' get roooobb'd". 10 seconds later 3 lads show up, clearly up to no good. They ask her "Whatcha' doin' in our neighborhood? . . . Do you need help?". What does Lara do? She says "Yeah, actually I do, I need to find this boat" and moves up to them, bag swinging right up under their noses. And yes, they of course grab it and start running off. Cue long boring chase scene... Some scenes also seems to have been added to make it look like the newer video games. I'd rather just play the game, thank you very much. They don't add anything either, other than being a "Wow, that's just like in the video game!". So I guess it's what they call fan service. I didn't care for it, even though I did like the games. So, what's good about it? Let me think... I liked the first 20 minutes or so. I think it portrayed a rootless Lara pretty well. I also liked the Lu Ren character, but he's unfortunately only used in a few scenes. They should have spend more time on that. They acted well together and gave the movie some much-needed character substance. The antagonists are mostly just the boring brute type. No identity other than loving to shoot their guns in the air whenever they are happy about something.

Hugely entertaining and also kind of sweet. The zombie killing is kick ass, and it continues the trend of the first movie with the oddly compatible characters who have become somewhat of a family. A family of misfits to be sure, which is why they each start straggling due to doubts about what and how they want to continue their lives in Zombieland. So that's the plot; trying to keep the family together. And I love that it isn't focused on just one of the characters wanting to go. They basically all do! So they have to go on a journey to rediscover the glue that keeps them together. And that's one helluwa ride to be part of! I don't think there's anything about this movie I didn't like. Maybe a few scenes here and there seemed a tiny bit off. But overall, it was just a great zombie flick with some hillarious situations and a plot that kept me interested. It's not the deepest plot mind you, but why does it have to be? It works!

To me this is by far the most interesting of the 3 movies. I was quite bored watching the first two, as the narrative in those was spread way too thin over the running time of the movies. They were more about running away from things than they were about explaining the story. But this one makes up for that. 1666 has a quite interesting narrative almost throughout. And on top of that it is also pretty well-made and acted. I have no idea if they nail the accents as I am not a native speaker, but it sounded right to me except for a few scenes where they seemed to almost forget them. But overall the acting is pretty good. In certain scenes even excellent. Without spoiling anything I will say that it is a fitting and interesting ending to the trilogy.

Excruciatingly slowmoving. It feels like the movements of everything is in slow motion. Character movements, camera movements, the music. Everything. They could easily have cut off 30 minutes of running time - that would have made it better. Not that the slow pace is the only problem with the movie though. It is also increasingly confusing as it crawls through the plot. Not until the very end does it start letting go of its secrets. And to be honest they are not that interesting. It felt like a waste of time when it ended.

Not that great, not bad either. It's not really a horror movie. And the ghost parts are too subtle to be scary or interesting. So, the movie isn't about that. It's about the story. Which is fine, if it was an interesting one. There are certain parts that made me pay attention a bit more than other parts. But ultimately I felt bored 75% of the time. It's one of those movies that explains the plot points along the way. So until you get to those "Aha!" moments, you don't really know what's going on. And that made the movie come off as confusing for at least the first half of it. But at the same time, when something is revealed, it was also interesting enough that I paid attention. I just wish it didn't drag along so slowly to get to those parts.

Movie cycle: - Smoking weed - **** or sex joke - "O.M.G! Weed is so good!!!" - Ted acting like a total twerp - Something endearing and kind of interesting - Lame unfunny music montage that you can skip over, just like you do on Family Guy - Smoking more weed - Talking about how great weed is And that just repeats over and over until the movie ends. Not without a few laughs here and there. But Teds personality made me almost root against him for most of the movie.

The movie takes the buddy relationship a bit too far into smoking weed territory for my taste. It makes Ted come off as an arrogant a-hole, completely incapable of looking past his own obscure cravings resulting in some class-A bad behavior which makes him, quite frankly, a terrible friend. Not that John is a saint, but Ted is a next-level **** and it made me dislike him a lot for most of the movie. The result is a bunch of half-funny sketch-like "Woooow, duuuuude!" scenes which lays the foundation of most of the first half of the movie. It seems like filler and it's pretty cringy at times. Some might appreciate it - I didn't. But then it stumbles into the last half. And that's where it starts to make sense. It slowly moves into a more sombre and well-written narrative. And it kind of starts to shine because of it. What I like about the movie in general though, is that it isn't black and white. There's no character in the movie who is "always right" or "always wrong". And one character might make you dislike them one scene, but then the next scene you go "Yeah ok, I guess he / she is right after all". I like that about it. If they had just dialed back the Ted **** a bit, I would have liked it a lot more I think.

This is a weird movie. It's well-made, but drawn out. It has some interesting ideas, but it starts scurrying around too much and ends up being quite dull because of it. And the characters I didn't care about seemed to do a lot better than the ones I did care for. So it felt like they had it all backwards when writing the script. I don't usually mind high stakes movies that dares to take chances on the main characters. But this felt forced. It has a scene later on in the movie, with a twist (literally), that ruined the rest of the movie for me. I lost all interest after that scene and only barely made it through to the end having moved the Netflix browser window to my secondary monitor. Only occasionally glanced at it to see what was going on. Put into two words, to me, the movie felt "dull" and "exasperating". That's not usually how I feel about zombie movies. I usually love them. Not this one.

It seemed like they did all of the takes of the actors without zombies, and then did all of the takes of the zombies without the actors and then cut it all together to a somewhat coherent movie. The result is a somewhat funny, but quite boring zombie comedy. It has it's moments, but ultimately it falls flat compared to its counterparts.

An overall very nice monster adventure movie. Except for a few missteps along the way, it's an enjoyable watch. The effects are good and the acting is up there too. I'm not gonna spoil anything, but I'd say that the movie looses a bit of momentum towards the last parts. But it's ok, it's not like it's wrapped up in a stupid way. It just sort of ventures into some hard to believe scenarios that kind of messes with the almost perfect pacing of the first 2 thirds of the movie. But, I still enjoyed watching it. And everything does come together in a nice way, however clumsily it got there.

I love this movie to bits. It has a great message, amazing characters and it's filled with laugh out loud moments. It's just the perfect feel-good movie. Nothing can top this. Ever.

A solid post-alien invasion movie. A beautiful movie. Not much dialogue and therefore not much in the way of acting (but what is there is good), but the story is interesting enough in itself that it kept me interested throughout. Wrote a bunch of stuff about the story but deleted it. Even though it didn't spoil directly, it still hinted at things so... No story comments other than I found it interesting, although a bit cliché. But there's nothing wrong with that, as long as it's well done. And it is.

Had this movie done more to explain what was going on behind the scenes I would have given it an 8. But I was entertained throughout, so I did enjoy watching it. I just generally don't like movies that end by having asked more questions that it answered. This movie answers a few questions, but asks hundreds. With that said, I can appreciate how it sort of puts "human everyday life" down to a very simple recipe. In doing so, it underlines how important the tiny differences in our day-to-day life is - they make life interesting. To be content means enjoying those differences. Too little is not enough, as clearly portrayed in this movie. So I guess it underlines the need to hit that balance between too little and too much. 2020 was too much.

A chilling (quite literally), dramatic and also sweet movie about Jan Baalsrud and the patriots who helped him survive his trip across the Sweden border during WW2. You really root for this guy through all of his / their ordeals. It actually has some comedic moments as well, which helps to break up the misery throughout. There is not one boring minute in this film. It is extremely well done too. The acting is top-notch from everyone. The set pieces are, naturally, stunning! The northern Norway with the icy hills and mountains are a thing of legends. And this movie uses those backdrops in the best possible ways. There really isn't a single thing in this movie I didn't like. Maybe except for the very last part of the movie. It does go a tiny bit overboard at the very end with the fantastical dramatization. But nothing that made me appreciate the movie and the story any less.
