Wizard with a Gun creates an effective mix of action combat, building, resource management, and rogue elements. The narrative has just enough mystery and quirks to keep players engaged but the focus is squarely on exploration and combat, which involve a lot of repetition but remain engaging. I love how player choices feed into the fights and I appreciate the tension introduced by the Chaos timer. The game’s art style enhances its mechanics and makes the world a pleasure to spend time in. Wizard with a Gun is fun both in single-player and when played cooperatively and gives fans of the genre a chance to find a unique playstyle.

Wizard with a Gun is colorful roguelite that mixes in an interesting way different gameplay styles. The result is satisfying, but not as much as it could have been, because the loop feels like it already shown what it had to give way too early.

For a game that seems to have a lot of different wreapontypes and ammunition it is increadibly bland. There are 0 spickes in ideas or highlights. It starts as it ends. Boring.

There's something with the core idea here. The pure act of shooting things with different spell combinations and collecting loot to improve your spells is fun. Combining effects to get the required materials (burning trees to get charcoal, destroying iron with electricity to get charged bars) is also a great idea that should be featured more often. Unfortunately, it gets bogged down by repetition, mostly down to the vast amounts of different items you need to upgrade your spells in combination with limited inventory space.
I just want to upgrade my spells to tackle harder content, but I need to go on 5 different scavenging expeditions to gather everything I need - each time having to revisit the starter areas in order to collect enough time to actually find everything I need. This game feels like a good basis to build on, if only there were some more adventurous spell combinations (especially on the defensive side) and upgrades to push the spellslinging idea further ...
Maybe that's something that can be achieved with later updates and content patches (or a full-blown DLC). As it stands now, all we have is a fun concept and design bogged down by repetetiveness and lackluster gameplay variety.

Me ha durado poco menos de una hora, justo el momento de entrar por la 2º puerta y recibir el "destrozamundos", segundos despues no he podido utilizarlo para destruir objetos ya que se quedaba nseleccionado elementos para construir. Nada, a la basura y rembolso.

Wizard With a Gun is a strong start for Galvanic Games, and the effort that has gone into the crafting system and elemental mechanics is well-appreciated. You can lose a lot of hours simply shaping ammo and gathering resources. However, the controls are loose, the lore could be better integrated, and the endgame is bare. Despite these issues, though, Wizard With a Gun is a competent shooter that has a lot of potential and is well worth watching as it develops over time.

Unimpressive build variety, strange and tedious resource collecting, and the lack of meaningful and fun progression make Wizard with a Gun a disappointment. Ultimately, Wizard with a Gun has a really great concept and some great ideas, but it fumbles the execution.

As of this review I have beaten the game and completed all major objectives. The game is charming and fun in pockets. A bit on the easy and short side, and gameplay gets slightly repetitive. Builds are a bit fun when the game allows it, certain combos are supported and many others are unsupported with passives and thus just a gimmick.
