Drawn to Life
Drawn to Life is a must-have for every DS owner's library. [Oct 2007, p.87]

It's really a blend of unique and unconventional aspects that either will or won’t appeal to a given audience.

It's a great game for a younger DS audience who will be thrilled simply by seeing their creations run around the screen and get wrapped up in the narrative (and maybe even trade creations with their friends), but older gamers will find disappointment around every turn in the creative freedom that it hints at but never truly delivers on.

Drawn to Life is a game with a premise that definitely leaves an impression. Its main appeal is letting you be an active part in creating the world, which directly involves you in the game's development. Not everything in the game is perfectly polished, and some aspects like interaction or length could have been explored more deeply. However, what it does well, it does brilliantly: it allows you to shape the game environment, which isn't something you see every day. Despite its limitations, this creative approach makes it a fun and refreshing experience. It's not a title that will become an instant classic, but it's undoubtedly a game that those who appreciate creativity in video games will value.

Game is very unique and fun to play. Might try the Switch version and hope that they keep making new games in the series. Hopefully 505 can dk just as good as THQ did. My fav feature is probably that you Draw your own character

The ways in which Drawn to Life breaks the fourth wall make the experience sweet and endearing, and its unique presentation delights with soothing tunes and exquisitely animated pixel art. However, the story is too bland to leave an impact, and gameplay is even more vapid: with extremely basic and mostly dull stages, platforming rarely gets interesting in challenge or structure, and while the drawing mechanic offers a charming degree of customization, it's nothing but a superficial facet.

Drawn to Life has a color and personality far beyond the majority of platformers, and is a perfect fit for the DS functionality to boot, already giving it a good headstart on its competitors quality.

I played it when I was child and this was my favorite DS game, although the final is dark I remember it like a really good game.

Drawn to Life makes excellent use of the DS touch pad by allowing you to easily design your own characters, weapons, and various transports. Unfortunately, the rest of the game can become quite a chore and often becomes redundant.

GameZone
This game has a very solid presentation and is absolutely perfect for younger gamers seeking an animated coloring book; however, I think older gamers will be somewhat disappointed.

Game Informer
However, your illustrative prowess doesn't affect gameplay, so in the end you're a little more than a window dresser for what is otherwise a familiar retread. [Oct 2007, p.127]

Cutesy game based on a fun and original idea of drawing your own world. But, despite lots of innovation, the underlying game is unlikely to captivate older players.

The story and setting are cute and fun and the drawing aspect is nicely integrated into the whole package, but this is supposed to be a game, not an interactive story and art experience.

The best game of my childhood.I bought my nintendo ds lite because of this game. It's an incredible adventure with a type of story mode difficul(or impossible) to find in any other DS game. The ending is great and the sequel was astonishing. I was waiting for a third episode but I know that it isn't going to happen. I'm still listening to its soundtrack...

Nice game. I filled it with porn. :D I think this is one of those games that has no idea what its target audience is. All the marketing makes it look like a game for the youngest DS players but it's way too difficult for them. And it's not even the kind of difficulty that more skilled players enjoy overcoming. It's the annoying kind.

Might as well play a good platformer or actually build your own game, would get way more satisfaction. It was a unique idea, but once you get to play it. You then realize it is just below average, and you could be have fun doing something else. Also lacks a lot of quality of life features. Such as just skipping scenes and dialogues.
