Eternights deserves some credit as it brings a lot of ideas to the table – perhaps too many. Players are tasked to manage party members, social relationships, a calendar, dungeon crawling, and more during the game’s short run time of less than a dozen hours. There’s a lot going on, most of it competently designed, but lacking that touch of finesse or technical flourish that oozes from the few series that serve as inspiration. The game wants to be a hot date, with some beautifully designed characters who are full of personality. Unfortunately, like those characters stuck on a train during the end of the world, Eternights is all dressed up with nowhere to go.

The first work of a small independent studio, Eternights is exactly what we expected: a title that is anything but ambitious and limited in more or less every aspect, which overall is still entertaining, witty and intriguing. A product whose value is, in short, greater than the simple sum of its parts. Bearing in mind that the entrance ticket (equal to €30) is more than affordable, we recommend it to RPG lovers and especially to connoisseurs of the waifu factor.

I went into this game completely blind not knowing what to expect. My expectations were low but somehow this game couldn't even beat them. I have played 4 hours and for all 4 hours you do the same thing. Gameplay feels like some bum vomited at your dinner table. Fights are boring and repetative.
Plot wise this game is even worse. We are playing as some pervert whom have never talked to a woman before. We have a best friend since school Chani whose even worse than the MC.
Overall the game is bad but it has some potential. Concept of the plot seems interesting. But the whole game needs massive update if there is going to be second part.

Nice, sweet, shorter (in a good way) game with elements of hanging out. Surprisingly slick but also a bit more difficult combat focused on precise deflects and dodges. - but it is rewarding. I was honestly glad that I have some experience with souls-like titles because other wise I don ´t think I would be willing to learning these mechanics. I go in Eternights for a chill-like teenange title. It is more than that.

It’s amazing to see such a passionate debut title from Studio Sai. Eternights elegantly blends in addicting and engaging action combat with dating mechanics while providing beautiful visuals and excellent voice acting. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this small team of developers.

Mixing Persona with real-time combat, Eternights delivers a robust package with charming characters, intimate romance, quirky writing, vibrant visuals, and an engaging gameplay loop. Despite it's flaws, Eternights makes a valiant effort in being one of the many games you will enjoy this year, and is a must play for RPG fans.

Eternights may not be a game-changer for the genre, but it still offers a solid experience, thanks to a strong cast of characters and an engaging gameplay, especially in its dating sim aspect. It caters to a very specific audience and will likely thrive within its niche; however, if you have even a remote interest in this genre, we recommend giving it a chance: you won't regret it.

Eternights is a true labor of love from a small team of developers that set out to create something for themselves. It just so happens that it’s also one of my favorite games of 2023. If you can look past the juvenile character moments and flimsy early plot devices, you’re in for an awesome experience that delivers quality action combat, hilarious character skits, and a very strong final Act. It’s an experience I won’t soon forget and one that doesn’t demand too much from players to play till the credits. The wait for this release was genuinely worth it, and I’m happy to see this ambitious project come together so brilliantly.

Eternights' great success is that it manages to be more than the sum of its parts. The witty writing papers over the shakier aspects of the storytelling, the slight combat is used sparingly enough that its flaws rarely frustrate, and above all, it's got an undeniable charm despite its rough edges. We're swiping right on this one.

Part of my interest in independent titles involves viewing the art form without the overwhelming gloss. Eternights has that gloss, which is an accomplishment in its own right, but when you peel that away, you just find something that seems a bit bland and lifeless. Certainly, not a night you’ll remember. You’d probably be better off just keeping your hand.

Been looking for a game like this for years. One of the funniest games I’ve played as well as great gameplay. Can not wait for the sequel. 10/10.

Garip bir jrpg deneyimiydi. Oyun bir persona çakması, romance sistemi daha iyi olabilirdi, combatı bir tık zayıf, ortalama üstü bir oyun.

Eternights is the first video game from the South Korean indie studio “Studio Sai” and for a first game you have to say that it is a strong product. It features strong action gameplay with an intriguing and sometimes funny plot, as well as good art direction and animation. The game lacks a certain polish in the game design and feels stretched and unnecessarily long at times. If someone is a huge Persona fan the game will like a rough gem.

Me he reído mucho.

The game has a lot of the core features down solid. The story itself is both interesting enough and the characters are enjoyable enough to want to complete. That being said, I could not. It is interesting that even all this time after the original digital release they couldn't fix the game enough. I might have been able to smash my head against the problem long enough to get through it, but then the rest is just so underwhelming. The fight portion of the game is easily the worse part of the game. There's a lot of fun RPG elements held back by some of the worst visuals in any game released in a long time, and just the usual pushing the same buttons you get with action RPGs. The game is also incomprehensibly dark. Perhaps this is to hide the poorly designed 3D models in game, but it hinders the game as a whole when you can't see anything happening.
I can see this is an indie developer which is honestly the real reason I rated a game I wont even complete higher than a 1. Looking forward to seeing more from the developer though, and despite my issues with the game I look forward to seeing what the developer can do in the future and hoping they mad enough to improve on those core principals.
