The environments are amazing, when on the deck of the tank the rain effects are extremely lifelike, along with rain drops hitting the ship and characters.

As stunning and enjoyable as ever. You may feel foolish gripping the controller throughout a 40-minute cut scene, but MGS2 is something which must be experienced.

MGS2 suffers in its story. I can't spoil it for you, but I can at least warn you to be prepared for a plot that frequently reaches levels of sheer absurdity.

just like most games of the saga, the Story is complex and with Lots of Dialogue, has well written characters, it didn't Bother me that you mostly play as Raiden and on japanese has a more Mature voice, about the Gameplay and mechanics, now you can Hang which reduce the necesity to memorise enemy paths in some parts, now you can roll if you press X while moving, you can use every weapon while you're crouched or while looking, you can move while using weapons if you press l1 but on Story mode it never tells you, you can now hold out enemies, now there's more non lethal weapons that just Stun Grenades, you can Skip all codec conversation at once. the Bad: enemies are invincible when they get up, that QTE where Solidus chokes you for second time and have to press ∆ very quickly and you get more breath if you look at Snake, if you Don't have a controller with pressure sensitive buttons you're forced to unnequip some weapons if you Don't want to Shoot, it's annoying when you're looking and that's not how Gun Triggers work, the most OBSOLETE thing is not being able to go back to the main menu, forcing you to restart the console if you want to go to the Options. i've expected to dislike the game too much mostly for the controls. overall it's a good Sequel

A must-own, state-of-the-art tactical espionage stealth-a-thon. [Jan 2007, p.106]

From the attention to detail that went into the graphics to the sophistication of gameplay, Hideo Kojima and his team set out to create the perfect game, and the result is nothing short of this. [Dec 2001, p.84]

I believe that the most impressive thing about that this game is that it could be released yesterday and the message would still be relevant. Crazy good game overall and def a must-play.

The best part of the whole thing is, you become so comfortable with the controls that the movements feel like a natural extension of your body. You’ll find your self ducking your head every time a bullet whizzes by you during a gunfight.

One of the most interesting aspects of MGS2's gameplay, though, is the emphasis on nonviolence. For a game with such a huge arsenal of destructive implements, and such a horribly rich killing experience for the twisted among us, it honestly provides considerable opportunity and incentive to be a benevolent commando.

Enjoyable, captivating, and thrilling.

Truly astounding. Not tarnished at all by all the hype, and truly worth the wait.

SOL's storyline (and this is being generous) is woefully inept, consisting of such high-calibre nonsense that there's absolutely no point following it.

Plot, characters, gameplay, visuals, music, everything is flawless. This is of the few examples of a perfect game.

Pleno, no.

Usually enjoyable when you adapt the controls with good story but way too many glitches with weird gameplay mechanics.
Some of the bosses are extremely stretched out and have some undodgeable attacks as well

This game was never good. This game still isn't good. The camera is your worst enemy. Guards constantly spot you when you can't even see them and this get's worse once you need to turn on your radar in the rest of the rooms in the game. The Story is just plain un-interesting. Hideo Kojima may be a master writer of stories, but this one doesn't deliver until the last hour or so of game play and cut scenes, and even at that point I find myself not caring about some of the things, while the parts while interesting feel more like they belong in a film or some documentary. This is not a good game and it's a boring movie.
