For anyone who still holds fond memories of the early days of 3D platformers this is an almost essential purchase.

Whilst the N64-era aesthetic will appeal to some, Macbat 64 just isn’t worth your time. Diploducus Games seem to be relying on little more than nostalgia as it’s selling point, but when it utterly fails to deliver on gameplay, we can’t recommend this to even the most die-hard platforming fans.

If you have an hour or two to spare, Macbat 64: Journey of a Nice Chap is pretty good for the inexpensive price. The blurry visuals and the subpar camera are part of the nostalgic charm. The fun characters and level designs have me hoping for a more substantial sequel. So, pick this one up to help make it happen.

Short and sweet. I see myself replaying this from time to time, adding to it's (short) longevity. It does a perfect job at recreating the N64 aesthetic, resolution and interlaced image aside. It has a lot of references to late 90s games and movies that made me smile. Almost every level in the game represents a different N64 game, from the obvious Super Mario 64, to DK64, Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart, Kirby, etc. The music is also pretty good. Also, when you beat the game, you unlock Siactro's previous game, Kiwi 64. Honestly, MacBat 64 is pretty good for what it is, and it being short can be a positive if you have less time to play or like to replay games. The best title from Siactro and maybe, their only title worth glancing at though, honestly.

It's sad to say that Macbat 64 felt like it was trying to be more like a checklist than a game to me. The game simply isn't fun at all, and only feels the need to do things because N64 games did those things too. If anything, it feels like my nostalgia was targeted rather than appealed to. I simply did not enjoy my time with this game.

Its a very short game but a very charming and fun one. It has so many references and callbacks to the 64 era of gaming. Worth the price and has a lot of replayability, would recommend.

An enjoyable time but it's wayyyy tooo short. There are game demos that are longer than this. Fun, short, nostalgic

It's fine for two dollars but its not really that fun. It feals more like a fetch quest sim rather than a game, and some of the models look down right hideous.

The game definitely has some charm, but in the end this isn't something that should be sold on a store, its more of a first attempt at making a whole game.
