Wardrum

Critic ScoreKeenGamer

Wardrum brings the rhythm genre to strategic roguelike gameplay and it's fun to engage with. Doing your best to learn the timings and get rewarded based on your performance adds an enjoyable layer to combat. It does have its disadvantages as it can wear thin when you need predictability. If you are looking for a new spin on the roguelike genre, this is a game to check out.

Blades of Fire 2.0 is a great starting point for anyone who hasn't played the game or wants a greater challenge. Everything that made the game great is improved and it's worth taking another look for a new player. However, there's nothing new to revitalise interest in a player who didn't connect with the game.

Rainbow Legends has solid mechanics for a roguelike deckbuilder and it's fun to progress while unlocking everything. There are some rough edges that need more polishing like some untranslated areas. If you want a simple roguelike deckbuilder that involves more than just fighting, this is a decent game to look at.

Bubsy 4D

Bubsy 4D is a brilliant reboot of the much maligned moggy's game series. With imaginative level design, fluid controls, a solidly funny script, and a decent challenge, it provides a challenge for fans of the genre. However, as fluid as the controls can feel slippery at times, and there are certain gameplay elements that don't feel well integrated into the game. Regardless, this is a fantastic adventure for the feline, and I hope to see more in the future.

Papa's Mocharia Deluxe

Papa's Mocharia Deluxe is a fun and healthily-challenging game that will keep players busy for a while with everything that it has to offer, including all the jolly holidays, notable customers, and unlocking new ingredients and special orders. This game should be boringly repetitive, but the cycle of holidays and unlocks prevents this from happening, instead turning the game into an addictive experience. The optional mini-games add variety, and the customization of characters and the shop offer creativity. Papa's Mocharia Deluxe is the third game to make its way onto Steam after Pizzeria and Freezeria, and it shouldn't stop there!

Black Jacket

Black Jacket provides a fast-paced roguelike experience with an added twist to the usual blackjack formula. It takes some time to learn how your cards truly work and it can feel unfair at times. But once you start putting combinations together, the fun begins and it's hard to tear yourself away from the game.

Overall, It Reaches has some good ideas from its monster designs to its body cam POV. However, many parts of the game are unpolished and frustrating at times, so that even some genuine scares can't justify its problems.

MIO: Memories In Orbit is worth your time. Mastering the skills available will reward you in conquering enjoyable bosses and punishing environmental puzzles. The game looks and sounds amazing while the free form nature of the story may not be for everyone - but persevere and you will be rewarded.

Luna Abyss

Overall, Luna Abyss is a thrilling first-person bullet hell with excellent platforming, satisfying combat, and a tight runtime that never overstays its welcome. Disruptive loading screens and forgettable features hold it back slightly, but Luna Abyss remains a strong sci-fi shooter. I look forward to what Kwalee Labs will cook up next.

Outbound

Critic ScoreKeenGamer

Outbound is an excellent cozy adventure that turns van life into a satisfying experience of driving, gathering, crafting, upgrading, and stopping now and again to enjoy the view. Its four beautiful biomes feel distinct, the van's customization provides a personal homely touch, and the game's slow pace becomes its identity rather than a limitation. It's held back slightly by having a fixed van choice, limited character customization, and a few bugs and crashes, but these do little to spoil what is an exceptionally relaxing and memorable game.
