The Fallout6
Feb 2, 2022
While accurately depicting the emotional struggles aspect, the protagonist Vada's resort to drugs, sex and booze to make peace with her personal sufferings seem a bit over-stretched. Writer and Director Megan Parker intends to make us feel, but hinders some narrative development that could've been more powerful if dialogue is more constructive rather than using vices as fillers.
Apr 15, 2020
Beautiful Boy6
Apr 15, 2020
While acting is genuine, narrative sequence are lackluster and uneven throughout, proving to be ill-excited but well-intentioned.
Apr 3, 2020
The Year of Spectacular Men6
Apr 3, 2020
All the male characters in the film feel underdeveloped while the sisters' experiences feel a little disjointed, giving people a complicated feeling about the whole process.
Apr 3, 2020
Seoul Searching6
Apr 3, 2020
Charming and funny, Seoul Searching would be better if it was a TV show rather than a movie so that more characters can be well-developed rather than rushed plot lines all the way through.
Mar 27, 2020
The Hunt8
Mar 27, 2020
A brilliant action piece combined with relatable commentary that mocks both liberals and conservatives alike, The Hunt proves itself to be smart, gory and thrilling all at once.
Mar 27, 2020
Ford v Ferrari8
Mar 27, 2020
A exhilrating journey through the life of competition of Ken Miles, Ford V Ferrari surely balances the drama and action with some comedic elements in between to make the film an engaging viewing experience. While biographic films might be boring at times, Mangold kept the pace well enough to let us feel the bond between Ken Miles and Carrol Shelby, whom despite obstacles mounting both from within the Ford Motors and the races itself, still manages to make the best out of the situtation to prevail against odds. Although the story is not about winning, it's about courage and committment ones needs to battle against the unknown. Some downsides would be the uneven screentime of Lee Iaccoca of John Bernthal's character and the way too conventional filming styles.

Midway5
Mar 16, 2020
Emmerich's inconsistencies surely prove himself to be Michael Bay version 1.5. The first 25 minutes of Pearl Harbour attack could be just the best part this film has to offer with well-paced action sequences and dialogue. The rest is purely bits and pieces of dramatic and repetitive battles with some subplots added into the mix to prove the heroic and unbelievable choices that Navy pilots make. The Aaron Eckhart's subplot is even more ridculous, following his journey into China then nowhere to be seen till the very end of the film. With so many lazy and fast-jumping edits, Emmerich loses traction in the later part of the film, giving the audience little to none of the anticipation that the Pearl Harbour Attack built up.
Mar 14, 2020
The Last Summer5
Mar 14, 2020
Similar to most Netflix Rom-Coms, The Last Summer does not have any substantial to offer other than the same old cheesy romance about fresh starts. The only storyline that's unrelated to the romance is the friendship between the little girl and her babysiter which seems to be out of the place when all the other stories are about finding short-term or potential long-term romantic relationships. With a little twist and turns, the film can be deemed mediocrely enjoyable but nothing exceptional.
Mar 13, 2020
Spenser Confidential5
Mar 13, 2020
With occasional fast cuts and an overall uneven tone, Spenser Confidential does not exel in neither action nor comedy. Story is straighforward enough, yet none of the characters are particularly interesting.
Mar 12, 2020
The Kill Team6
Mar 12, 2020
While packed with gritty realism, the film does not live up to any conventional standards in story development. It almost feels like the story started and ended with few substance within.
Nov 4, 2018
Mile 223
Nov 4, 2018
With little to none editing skills, this film could be the worst ever made by Berg.
Nov 4, 2018
Eighth Grade7
Nov 4, 2018
The film doesn't have a big story to tell, but internal struggles of the main character can be perceived through all the scenes.
Nov 4, 2018
22 July7
Nov 4, 2018
Although impactful at every scene, this film should be in Norwegian so that it can be more authentic.
Oct 6, 2018
Isle of Dogs9
Oct 6, 2018
Wes Anderson utilizes simple concept of love and friendship with immense matriculation in crafting a tailored sequence of events to send a simple message: Dogs and humans are friends.
Jul 1, 2018
The Disaster Artist7
Jul 1, 2018
While depictions of characters look realistic comparatively and bring occasional laughter, the film does not have much of a central message.
Jul 1, 2018
Incredibles 27
Jul 1, 2018
A nice reminisce of an all-time classic animated film about superheroes, Incredibles 2 does not surpass its predecessor in any ways but still manages to be likable among all.
Jul 1, 2018
The Room1
Jul 1, 2018
Just gonna quote from a random character from The Wire: "The world shines **** and calls it gold."
Jul 1, 2018
Blade Runner 20498
Jul 1, 2018
Much like it's predecessor but better, Villeneuve's take on Blade Runner recreates the original atmosphere, but also implements surprising twists and turns that do not bore the audience through the whole course of extensive run time.
Jun 17, 2018
Submergence3
Jun 17, 2018
Badly acted and directed piece that basically says nothing about everything.
Jun 17, 2018
Love, Simon7
Jun 17, 2018
A solid piece of high school drama that entices young audiences into the world of inclusiveness.
Jun 17, 2018
Game Night8
Jun 17, 2018
Twisty and hilarious, Game Night is simply a delight to watch for those seeking a combination of thrill and comedy.
Jun 14, 2018
Red Sparrow3
Jun 14, 2018
An artistically boring storyline accompanied with cliche character narratives, Red Sparrow is simply awful in its direction, making the film one of the most atrocious representation of espionage.
Jun 4, 2018
The 15:17 to Paris3
Jun 4, 2018
With the insane amount of unnecessary backstories, Eastwood misses the mark in promoting a proper propaganda.
May 20, 2018
Den of Thieves4
May 20, 2018
A boring tale of heist that doesn't even come close to being an adequate action piece with bland dialogue and dull acting.
May 15, 2018
Call Me by Your Name7
May 15, 2018
A grotesque romance that will obviously gross out some straight males, Call Me By Your Name certainly does achieve the effect of love and affection with two top-notch acting professionals(Timothee and Armie).
May 15, 2018
12 Strong5
May 15, 2018
Not too bad an action piece for a first time feature film director, 12 Strong largely portrays historical events in a dramatic and unrealistic fashion with boring dialogue and adequate action scenes.
Apr 23, 2018
Wonderstruck6
Apr 23, 2018
While visually compelling and emotionally driven at times, Wonderstruck fails to send a clear central message that the transformation of deaf culture is important to the American society. The "wonder" in the title also does not seem to live up to its ultimate ending, offering viewers rather mixed and confused feelings.

All the Money in the World5
Apr 19, 2018
[SPOILER ALERT: This review contains spoilers.]
Apr 15, 2018
Novitiate8
Apr 15, 2018
Certainly one of the most interesting approaches to tackle the subject of Christianity, Novitiate does not seek to give out answers or judge religion as a whole, but presents the power struggle and human emotions that mirror the contemporary world. While cast performance is astounding in every way, Morgan Saylor(Homeland) particularly stands out among all.
Apr 9, 2018
The Commuter6
Apr 9, 2018
A cliche story with solid action and pacing. It's probably good to see Liam Neeson does what he does best in action movies, but that's pretty much it.
Apr 8, 2018
It6
Apr 8, 2018
Spooky and Freaky, It features swearing kids, dirty environments and ugly monsters that successfully scare the audience, but nothing else in terms of the story.
Apr 8, 2018
The Post8
Apr 8, 2018
With another impressive performance by several Oscar winning and nominated actors and actresses, The Post certainly serves its purpose being politically important during the current climate, but other than that it's just another usual fashioned Spielberg film with no surprising elements.
Mar 28, 2018
I, Tonya7
Mar 28, 2018
A well-executed biopic on events that have controversial facts and figures with some comic elements to entertain the audience and amazing performance by Allison Janney, I, Tonya is certainly not ground-breaking in any way though, considering the certain biases in favor of Tonya Harding to invoke empathy and sympathy.
Mar 26, 2018
Everything, Everything4
Mar 26, 2018
Cute but melodramatic throughout most of the run time, the film feels too cheesy and unbelievable with slight momentum to keep some audiences engaged until realizing a rather foolish ending.
Mar 26, 2018
Small Town Crime7
Mar 26, 2018
A solid performance and story with average cinematography and direction, but kept the audience intrigued throughout the whole course.
Mar 26, 2018
Mean Girls7
Mar 26, 2018
While certain scenes and parts of story are occasionally relatable, the film feels more like a collection of hilarious memes rather than having a central message.
Mar 20, 2018
Downsizing5
Mar 20, 2018
What could've been an astounding social commentary piece ends up to be a multi-faceted disjointed disaster piece. Downsizing focuses on the good Samaritan character Paul Safranek as he ventures the downsized world with some realizations and disappointments without delving into any of the important societal issues, but simply stating them and moving into cliche stories of characters. Payne misses the mark with the great cast and occasional humor, ultimately dooming Downsizing the chance to become politically important.
Mar 18, 2018
Only the Brave8
Mar 18, 2018
An emotionally driven biographical drama that focuses on both personal and professional lives of the firefighters involved. Kosinski balances the elements of drama and actions in a well-paced sequence, leaving the audience feel the compelling heroism.
Mar 15, 2018
Brad's Status9
Mar 15, 2018
A story about a person's internal struggle with the reality and perceptions, White examines the thoughtful and doubtful mind of Mid-age Brad who questions his career choices and idealistic goals. The well-developed characters and father-son relationship truly underscore the importance of family and the insignificance of competitions, suggesting one should always cherish what he or she has rather than regret what's been lost.
Mar 13, 2018
The Death of Stalin7
Mar 13, 2018
A comical look at parts of the history with occasional laughter and unbelievable darkness.
Mar 11, 2018
Lady Bird6
Mar 11, 2018
A coming of age story that looks awfully like a Noah Baumbach film, Lady Bird is actually directed by Greta Gerwig, making it looks like a replica of Baumbach's style from story lines to directions. Although the film has some realistic dialogues and excellent performance, it fails to live up as an original.
Mar 11, 2018
Get Out6
Mar 11, 2018
A grotesquely bizarre film that explores race and gender issues with twists that are simply considered uncomfortable to watch for some audiences.
Mar 11, 2018
Roman J. Israel, Esq.7
Mar 11, 2018
Solid performance by Denzel Washington in a close-look character study film that examines a lawyer's troubling personal state and professional career played out in a relatively safe film-making fashion.
Feb 24, 2018
Beginners9
Feb 24, 2018
The film explores the dynamics of emotions by intersecting stories of characters from their past and present with the combination of images and historical references to accentuate the transformation of society and the reality of painful loss through time. Mills' well-developed characters and the casts' amazing performance do much more than make us see, but also make us feel in a way that both sympathize for the characters and reflect on ourselves.
Feb 23, 2018
Darkest Hour9
Feb 23, 2018
With Gary Oldman's never-seen-before stellar performance, Darkest Hour certainly reminded us how politicians during wartime used to be honorable and righteous. The power of language throughout the film is a dominant driven force to underscore the imminent danger that faces one nation and to boost morale in the people during extreme circumstances.

Every Day5
Feb 23, 2018
[SPOILER ALERT: This review contains spoilers.]
Feb 22, 2018
Disconnect9
Feb 22, 2018
The film explores acts of exploitation in the technology based modern world, portraying disconnected characters in several different yet interlocking narratives. It is a rare occasion when characters in the film often seems grey rather than pure black and white, which authentically resembles the real world.
Feb 22, 2018
Short Term 129
Feb 22, 2018
An untouched subject that generally overlooked by mainstream filmmakers featuring social workers and troubled teenagers explore personal losses and surroundings. With Larson's terrific performance and Cretton's compelling narrative, the film stands out as a unique gem in indie film making that underscores human connections and societal brutality.
Feb 22, 2018
The Killing of a Sacred Deer8
Feb 22, 2018
A freakishly creepy film explores the art of expressionless acting that somehow brings the horror genre to a different level. Audience experiences might be polarized because of its particularly grotesque overall tone.
Feb 22, 2018
Youth8
Feb 22, 2018
A surprisingly original story about the talented Chinese young soldiers of Arts department during the 70s and 80s. While depiction of communist propaganda seems at large because it's still a Chinese film, the main story is about those people who are shaped by their surroundings and environments. Rarely does a Chinese film do such an astounding job at character development.
