This movie is seriously funny, surprisingly funny, not funny in a way that you ever decide to laugh, but funny like you couldn’t keep quiet even if you wanted to. The laughs, as they say, keep coming.

As a director, Franco succeeds beautifully at bringing coherence to chaos, a word that accurately describes the making of this modern midnight-movie phenomenon. Do you need to see "The Room" to appreciate The Disaster Artist? Not really.

The Disaster Artist is far from being a disaster... and far from being as bad as The Room. Its based on the crazy true story of how Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero made the greatest worst movie ever made. James Franco directs this movie and acts as Tommy Wiseau perfectly, which is the highlight of the entire movie. His performance and many memorable quotes make this movie one of the funniest and most entertaining movies I've ever seen. The rest of the performances from the other actors are great as well and only compliment James' performance even more. Being an aspiring filmmaker myself, this movie is really inspirational as it tells such a great and heartfelt story about following your dreams and never giving up. This movie is a must see for everyone interested in the film industry, and even anyone who has a different passion or dream they want to pursue.

Best Movie About The Worst Movie
The Disaster Artist is a hilarious look at how the infamous “The Room” was made.

From laugh to laugh — and there are many — you might question the target of the jokes, but that’s often because The Disaster Artist rarely works on one level: There’s meta humor, self-referential gags, and human reverence paid to the earnest pursuit of a Hollywood dream. Such are the layered joys of this exuberant — if surprisingly conventional — buddy comedy about the making of the worst movie of all time.

The dazzle of the cast and the targeted in-jokes never take away from the film’s core messaging about the importance of believing in one’s own ability as an artist.

Funny — sometimes brutally — and surprisingly touching, it works whether you’ve seen the source material or not, though there are plentiful shout-outs to die-hard fans.

The Disaster Artist is primarily a pedestal for the ultimate James Franco performance — it’s his "Lincoln." Whatever my queasiness about laughing at a head case, I couldn’t help myself from thrilling to Franco’s timing, his relish, his swan dive into an egotism that has no bottom.

Franco has a fan’s affection for Wiseau’s mannerisms, but if his objective was to lionize him as an outsider auteur à la Ed Wood, then he’s failed. The idea that The Room’s strange and bitter qualities are very personal and rooted in some deep pain is obvious to anyone who’s seen the film—except, it seems, to the star and director of this movie.

The Disaster Artist is one of the most memorable comedies in years. Fans and those familiar with the room will find an enjoyable and rather informing tale of ultimate failure. Best of all, the disaster artist has lines that are arguably just as memeable as the original film.

A respectable attempt by James Franco, who's portrayal of Tommy Wiseau is the most interesting thing about this biopic. Unfortunately, there isn't much more to learn here about Wiseau as a person, or even The Room in general, that you wouldn't get by just watching The Room.

After “God’s Own Country”, “Wonder” and “Coco” I thought I was on a roll but then I was hit smack in the face with the awful “Just Getting Started” and now “The Disaster Artist”! I really don’t know how I feel about James Franco as an actor as he can be excellent as he is in the double role in the HBO series “The Duece” but unforgettable in most movies he makes. In “The Disaster Artist” he plays a weird and basically dislikable human being who, supposedly, made the worst movie ever made though I have heard that about other directors and their movies—Ed Woods, anybody? This may be the worst film made about a person who wrote, starred in, produced and directed a movie, in other words, Tommy Wiseau. Dave Franco, yes James’ brother, plays Greg Sestero who becomes lifelong friends with Wiseau without any real reason given in the film except, maybe, to hang onto the wealthy Wiseau’s for his money. I was going to say fame but before this film I never heard of the man, well either, or the movie he made “The Room” or the book this film is based on written by Sestero. The only ‘interesting’ thing about this movie is the end—no, not a pun—where they show the actors in this film alongside the original actors in “The Room”. Please don't even accidentally confuse “The Room” with last year’s excellent “Room” and don’t waste your time seeing “The Disaster Artist”. You would be better off seeing the film about James Dean, who is referenced in this film, which made James Franco a star.

this is the most cringy thing I have ever watched, bull***t based on a true horse***t, this is wasting 2 hours of your life
the first movie was a disaster itself I can't understand why and how the idea of making a movie based on that come to their mind
damn, It was awkward and painful to watch I'm sickened with this!
