Visuals - Stunning visuals you are unlikely to find anything as good looking as this on the PS4, maybe Cyberpunk will push it close but The Last Of Us Part 2 is a very pretty game. (10/10) Story - Abysmal, if you are a fan of the original and the original protagonists you will find both spat on by this sequel (3/10) Gameplay - Solid but has not really progressed since the original game released in 2013 and with the added length this become a bit repetitive (7.5/10) Longevity - The game will take between 20 and 40 hours, this is far too long as a result the game becomes a real slog to get through, unlike the original game which was a perfect length (6/10) Overall - A visually stunning game that is let down by repetitive gameplay that has not progressed far enough from the original, and a story that insults the original game and characters. (6.6/10) Score rounded to a 7/10 due to metacritic scoring system

Good character design and music but let down by everything else. combat is repetitive, clunky and at times feels broken. dialogue in the game is abysmal, stale, disjointed, confusing and with a story that makes no sense. this game having Final Fantasy VII in the title is an insult.

It has taken EA 8 years to finally make a Star Wars game worthy of the name Star Wars, while the game is not without flaws, bugs are certainly an issue, several freezes occurred during my play-through as well as some texture issues that took quit a while to finally load in. Overall however it is a solid game with an interesting story and bunch of characters, combat feels good once you have got the hang of things, overall a good start, hopefully a sequel will be able to build on what is a solid foundation.

Interesting story, great visuals and engaging combat that is slightly let down by repetitive enemy encounters towards the last third of the game.

After playing Assassin's Creed Origins i was excited for this entry in the series, Origins felt fresh with a compelling story and main character, sadly however Odyssey feels laboured and tired in addition the sheer size of the map does after a while become too much, and while Origins itself had a large map it did not feel like a chore to traverse.

Yet another poor entry into the NBA 2k series this time coming with even more predatory microtransactions, glitches and bugs that have no place being in a released game in 2020, in addition load times are painful and no real rewards or incredibly slow rewards for playing the game, all aimed at getting players to spend more and more money, the one aspect of the game that works perfectly.

This years iteration of Madden feels like yet another step back for the franchise, with Longshot failing to improve and build on last years release, gameplay wise the game feels no different, and the even more insidious microtransactions that have infested Madden make this a game that should be avoided.

For once a game developer has said they have listened to the players and they have. gone is the kinda boring Aiden Pierce and in place is a much more likeable group of Dedsec members add in a very fun to explore representation of San Francisco and a much more varied range of quests and challenges story has also greatly improved over the revenge themed original. Overall rated an 8.7 rounded up to a 9/10.

I miss the days when Final Fantasy was great don't get me wrong what Hajime Tabata and his team have accomplished here is very good especially the development hell this game was stuck in, however it feels like half the game is missing, the second half of the game feels so rushed which is a real shame because the first half i had a lot of fun with. Nice to see an open world return and a very pretty world as well that you want to explore coupled with some likeable main characters and sub characters, combat though is a bit simplistic quite often you just need to spam the O button. Driving to and from quests gets a bit tedious and fast travel was getting plenty of use after a while another annoying point is the AI controls of your party members while travelling around the world they would frequently get in your way, also had a couple of occasions during mid battle it would suddenly become impossible to hit or get hit by an enemy on one occasion this happened during a boss fight which was very annoying. Overall i give Final Fantasy XV 7.8/10 rounding up to an 8 overall it has flaws and even after 10 years it feels a little rushed but there are plenty of things to like about this game.

Great setting, characters and story however badly let down by repetitive missions and bugs, at the time of writing this i have been playing the game for around a week, in that time the game has crashed about 12 times three of those were when i was at one end of the map needing to get to the other end, half way there the game decided it was going to take a breather very frustrating. Real shame as i was really looking forward to this game sadly it's issues far outweigh the positives as a result i can only give this game a 6/10

Tomb Raider is now 20 years old, damn i feel old, age however has not slowed down Lara Croft and she returns for the sequel to 2013's reboot and i am happy to report they have managed to make another top quality Tomb Raider game building on what they did with the reboot tightening up gameplay and improving the exploration aspects of the game and the bow is still on of the best gaming bows around. also it was nice to return to Croft Manor Overall it is still behind the Uncharted series but the gap has closed significantly i am interested to see where we go next with Lara and see how her war with Trinity progresses.

After both Valkyrie Chronicles and The Banner Saga this year i was more than happy to jump into another turn based strategy game, this time the follow up to the very good XCOM Enemy Unknown/Within. As with the previous game it is a real challenge you have to think constantly, go charging in and you will get slaughtered, patience is the key and there is no better feeling than luring a group of Aliens into a well planned out trap. This brings me onto one of the only issues i have with the game time sensitive missions, countless times i have had to rush across the map to secure a piece of Intel or blow something up after which i have to watch my squad get annihilated, because in order to reach the objective in time strategy has to go out of the window. This is my only gripe in what otherwise it a top quality turn based strategy game and a great follow up to 2012's XCOM.

Like Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim i waited for the game of the year edition before jumping in and i am glad i did the Game of the Year edition comes with i think 16 sets of DLC plus the two expansions Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine the latter is a game in its self, the sheer amount of content i think i will still be playing this well into next year, with a combination of fascinating characters and stories to a stunningly brutal and beautiful game world this is one of the best games of this generation. A couple of minor issues though occasional frame rate issues when battling a large number of enemies these have been rare though and couple of crashes thankfully not during a quest also the occasional tree protruding though a house wall other than that it has been great.

As a rule i never but games like Fifa every year the last edition that i bought was Fifa14 the latest edition is Solid enough game with all the licenses plenty of game modes and the journey does add something extra to Fifa and is not that bad really then again anything that is not directed by Spike Lee is on to a winner. Gameplay though still needs plenty of work players sadly do not feel that different from each other weather you are Messi, Ronaldo, Kroos or Pogba. also quick pacey players who can leave a lot of defenders for dead feel a little slow they have however improved the tackling mechanic you can no longer just mash the O button and steal the ball easy you do have to work hard and time your tackles every time which is a big improvement. Graphically it looks good wear on the pitch is a nice touch the new frostbite engine certainly does make this look like the beautiful game except during substitutions players look a little deformed when walking as well as a few animation issues. Overall i would give this game a 7.8/10 so rounded up to an 8/10 not a pretty good football game but in need of a overhaul i fear the slump Fifa suffered in the early 2000's may rear its ugly head again.

Follow up and continuation of the story from the first Banner Saga more of the same with a little more polish to the gameplay and graphics story remains compelling and interesting and certainly has me looking forward to the 3rd entry in the trilogy

Likeable characters and a great Nordic themed story and world and add in some very fine turn based combat that is challenging but not to the point were it becomes frustrating, you feel like you have accomplished something during combat, also add to the management of supplies and upgrading your key party members and you have a very good game.

6/10 is the highest i can give this game at the moment fans of this genre of game will have a lot of fun however those that were expecting a game changer will be disappointed a huge amount of grinding is needed to progress in this game which will put off many, however there is a great deal of potential here. By the sounds of things Hello Games are going to be constantly updating this game adding new features which i am hopeful will alleviate some of the grind. Now for one of the even bigger gripes the price here in the UK i picked this game up for £46 in comparison the most recent Uncharted game cost me only £42, out of all my PS4 game purchases this so far is the worst value for money i honestly can't see myself still playing No Man's Sky in a couple of weeks let alone months. Update (30/08/2016) Still rated a 6/10 for me but it is pushing up towards a 7/10 i have found the key to enjoying No Man's Sky more is to play in small chunks an hour here and there between other games reduces the frustration that develops after long periods of play which i was finding. Hello Games have also been improving the game we are currently up to patch 1.07 hopefully more features will be upcoming in the near future updates.

Very pretty game that controls really well quite easy to master but not so easy that it becomes boring, platforming can be a little on the bland side on occasions but the narrative and movement of player controlled character more than make up for it and at £15.99 here in the uk is pretty good value for money, and additionally I had more fun with this game and played it for longer than i did with No Man's Sky which is twice the price overall this is a 8.7 out of 10 for me rounded up to a 9/10 the platforming just letting it down.

Very pretty world and a relaxing change to the usual fast paced games wont be for everyone but if you are looking to wind down after a tough day this could be for you.

Picked up from the PS Plus store on special offer and i am glad i did Great characters and story only let down by the odd bug the same that were annoying in the walking dead overall though another good quality game from Telltale Games and if you have not added this to your game collection yet i highly recommend you pick it up.

I remember being tempted by this game back when it was originally released back in 2008 but opted against it for some reason but it caught my eye again in the ps store and it though what the heck lets give it a try. And i am very glad that i did as it is top quality story based strategy game, likeable characters and the HD remake looks stunning.

I enjoyed the original Homefront even if it was on the short side there was definitely potential for the series and there is plenty of potential in this game, but in the games current condition there are simply too many bugs and frame rate issues to give the game a higher rating than 5/10, once the developers patch these issues which will hopefully be soon it will be a more realistic 7 to 8 out of ten.

Killzone Shadow Fall like the previous two Killzone's is good but just lacks that extra spark to make it great, however it has been the most fun i have had in a Killzone game since the very first game it looks fantastic and is well worth a play. Multiplayer was all right but did not make me want to keep playing sadly.

Limited number of events, which also have a limited number of computer opponents in Olympic mode you only have 3 rivals which is beyond a joke, controls are fiddly and some of the animation are poor the speed skating looks like some kind of mutant. A real lack of effort seems to have been put into this game

A couple of good fun events are mixed in with far too easy or far too frustrating events, even on hard difficulty it is not overly challenging, repetitive commentary begins to grate after a while and in the track events some very suspect AI.

Looks fantastic environments as you would expect from naughty dog are some of the best if not the best on Playstation some truly amazing attention to detail. plays really well gun controls are responsive without being over responsive. Traversing the environments is a great deal of fun and i have been side tracked on a fair few occasions just looking around the various places you visit in the game, the story is just as interesting as the previous three Uncharted games. Overall this is a masterpiece the only down side it that it ended Side note to anyone who has not played Uncharted before and is interested in playing it i recommend getting the uncharted collection first while the story is not linked Uncharted 4 does mention things that have happened in previous games plus it was fun getting to know the characters over the cause of the three previous games.

Great fun and a very nice addition to console gaming, I player one of the earlier Trackmania games on PC and have a great time with that good to see that the Trackmania series has not lost any of its charm. The trackbuilder has taken up many hours of my time in my quest to build and even better and more challenging track and the multiplayer is good competitive fun, can't beat nicking a few extra tenths off of your lap time to get into the top 10

Looks good and the cars handle pretty well once you get use to them, single player was solid however i was let down by the multiplayer either getting a network error or being kicked from the game after a few seconds.

Bethesda have improved on what they accomplished with Fallout 3 and the addition of the settlement builder and finally a use for all of those countless items you pick up for no reason are two great additions to Fallout. the former does however still need a bit of work can be a bit awkward at times and as usual there are some bugs it is a Bethesda game after all bug wise though not as bad as Fallout 3.

It is a Mad Max game finally took them long enough and they have not disappointed the car combat is solid the world and environment are perfect for the game only sight disappointment is the non car combat which does get quite repetitive Graphics: 9/10 a desert wasteland has never looked so appealing. Gameplay: 7/10 Car combat is perfect with some nice take down of enemies out of the car Max is a bit clumsy and the hand to hand combat does get a bit repetitive, plenty to do in the world though which does alleviate some of the repetitiveness. Story: 7/10 not really why you are playing a Mad Max game not bad but not the best however there are far worse stories out there. Overall 8/10 a good solid game and about time a Max Max game was made.

Initially game this game a 10/10 however after playing the game for several days i have decided to downgrade my score to a 8/10. The game looks fantastic its depiction of New York i think is the best i have ever seen in a video game and it does have me eagerly searching for the next best bit of loot and has been making me come back to the game again and again which is always good. Now onto a slightly less good bit the bullet sponges for enemy's is quite frustrating especially when you come up against enemies wearing armor and even worse when you come up against a pair of armored enemies. think i used around 1000 rounds to take down just one. One bit of advise for tougher enemies make them fight on your terms keep movement levels high and drag the enemies all over the local area set traps for them with turrets and grenades and eventually you will wear down their armor and be able to take them down.

First episode was a little slow but the game really picked up as the episodes progressed very likeable characters and some excellent voice acting from the whole cast while some may find the ending a disappointment I found it summed up life perfectly Graphics: 9/10 Arcadia Bay, Blackwell Academy and the surrounding areas look amazing character design is also top notch as well Gameplay: 9/10 Story:10/10 Great story that gets you hooked and eager to start the next chapter so much so I ended playing through all five episodes in the same day.

I loved Xcom Enemy Unknown so jumped at the chance to get back into the series while this is unlikely to interest many of the more strategy gaming fans from the original games it is a solid enough 3rd person shooter and hell it is more Xcom which if fine by me Graphics 8/10 Gameplay 7/10 Story 7/10 Overall 7/10

Graphics: The game really does look amazing the combination of Victorian London mixed with more futuristic technology really do have a unique feel, some excellent character design as well not to mention some of the best looking moustaches in gaming history. 10/10 Gameplay: Nice selection of guns that have a distinctive feel to them overall a solid if uneventful cover based shooter 7/10 Story: werewolves for a change story if fairly interesting a new take on the knights of the round table is refreshing, however it is very short i finished it in five to six hours and that is with being sidetracked by the london scenery on a few occasions. 4/10 Overall 7/10 could have been something very special for the PS4 but could only manage just about average hopefully a sequel will be made to continue the story and hopefully the will add a bit more substance next time rather than making it look pretty.

At first it was quite a struggle to get use to the handling of the tanks i lost count of how many times the body and turret were facing opposite directions however it is well worth perceiving as there is a very competitive multilayer game here, while frustrating at times Snipers as in any game they are annoying as hell but there is nothing more satisfying then sneaking up behind one and exacting an explosive revenge.

Far Cry 3 was the first Far Cry I played and i really enjoyed that game so i was hopeful of more of the same only with Mammoths and spears instead of tanks and assault rifles. I was not disappointed either it plays really well and looks fantastic while the story is a bit meh not the major selling point of Far Cry anyway the rest of the game is solid and credit to Ubisoft for taking the chance on something a bit different.
