Honestly, the PC port might be the best way to experience arguably 2024's best game, although I recommend using a controller instead of mouse and keyboard.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty10
Dec 6, 2024
It's honestly everything I wanted from Cyberpunk 2077; meaningful choices that matter with different outcomes, relies more on its RPG elements and gameplay mechanics, consistently fantastic quest design from beginning to end, slight horror elements even, it's an incredible expansion, I might even prefer it over the base game.
My only complaint is how the side-quests aren't as engaging as in The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine for example, they're decent, sure, just not anything special.
Like a 9.5/10 not gonna lie, could've been 9/10 but I really appreciate how it fixes some of my problems with the base game on top of being an awesome expansion anyways.

Metaphor: ReFantazio10
Nov 7, 2024
68 hours later, I'm finally done with Metaphor: ReFantazio, the new IP from Atlus and the director of Persona 3-5.
Honestly, I didn't know what to expect before getting into this game, I wasn't anticipating it at all, so everything felt like a surprise.
What felt like the biggest surprise for me, however, was the story; I'm not exaggerating when I say that Metaphor has arguably one of my favorite stories in a JRPG, ever. Seriously, it's so intriguing and well-paced, it never slows down, the themes it tackles are so powerful and impactful, I'm genuinely impressed.
The characters surprised me as well; they're all amazing, even the antagonists.
The gameplay, on the other hand, it might be identical to what Atlus has done before, but there are many minor changes to make it feel refreshing, a new build system, and the gameplay loop is quite different as well, more grinding and exploration, and less dungeon crawling.
Speaking of exploration, the game is more open than the Persona games, it has bigger areas and towns, more varied side-content and even a world map to navigate.
Visually, going from high-school fantasy to medieval fantasy feels very refreshing, the character design is probably the best I've seen in an Atlus game, and the art style and music are fantastic as well.
With all that being said though, all the main dungeons feel mostly underwhelming unfortunately, and the side-dungeons are incredibly bland and repetitive.
Also, the bosses, while intentionally challenging, felt frustrating and even unfair after a while. Pros:
+ Fascinating and powerful story
+ Engaging and lovable characters + Very fun gameplay
+ QoL improvements
+ Art style and music Cons:
- Disappointing dungeon design
- Balancing issues Final Rating: 10/10
- Masterpiece -
With Metaphor: ReFantazio, Atlus is fighting for the throne as the next king of the JRPG genre.
While I don't necessarily think Metaphor: ReFantazio is the evolution for Atlus RPGs going forward, I think it definitely stands on the same ground as the studio's best RPGs and some of the best JRPGs in general. Do I recommend it?:
Must-play for JRPG fans.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin7
Oct 10, 2024
As a massive fan of the Final Fantasy series and a big fan of FromSoftware's action RPGs, I was actually never looking forward to playing Stranger of Paradise because it seemed to be very cringe from the trailers, at least when it came to story, characters and dialogue.
After playing through the game, however, I can indeed confirm that it's true; the story is a mess for the most part and the big plot twist is purposefully very predictable, the characters are as uninteresting as possible, and the dialogue is so edgy, dumb, cringe and un-self-aware most of the time, it genuinely makes the game more fun to play through than it already is. The funny thing is that you can't even tell if it's intentional or not.
The gameplay, on the other hand, impressed me; Stranger of Paradise is unironically a very good action RPG with a deep, satisfying combat system and a fun job system.
The bosses are decent, fairly challenging and well-designed for the most part, nothing special but enjoyable nonetheless.
The level design, however, is either very bland or just tedious, and the enemy variety is kind of lacking.
The visuals are outdated, the game looks more like a PS3 era game, although the art style is cool, the environments look nice and the fan-service scattered throughout the areas of the game is very well done and it feels meaningful.
Lastly, the music is not bad at all, but it's kind of forgettable. Pros:
+ Enjoyable and satisfying gameplay
+ Job system
+ Bosses
+ Beautiful environments
+ Well executed fan-service Cons:
- Weak story and characters
- Dialogue
- Inconsistent level design
- Repetitive enemy variety Narrative: 4/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Content: 7/10
Characters: 3/10
Music: ?/10
Graphics/Audio: 6/10 Final Rating: 6.5/10
- Pretty Good -
Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is a great action RPG and even a decent Final Fantasy entry, however, it really suffers from underwhelming narrative and characters, and some minor imperfections as well. Do I recommend it?:
Only at low price, but yes, if you're looking for an enjoyable action RPG, Stranger of Paradise is a fun time.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy6
Oct 2, 2024
And finally, I'm done with the Uncharted series.
The Lost Legacy, while not exactly a mainline entry in the Uncharted series, it's still a game I was looking forward to playing someday.
Unfortunately though, because it's not another mainline Uncharted game, The Lost Legacy feels incredibly similar to the previous Uncharted; it's pretty much the same game as Uncharted 4, same - albeit enjoyable - gameplay and even same - albeit gorgeous - visuals; it genuinely felt like I was playing the same game for like, the fifth time... if we take into account all the Uncharted games before it.
As for the story and the characters, it's... serviceable; the story is kind of weak and I didn't care about the main antagonist at all, but the characters make up for it, they're decent and they serve the story quite well.
Also, the pacing is pretty good, it's a short game, so the story moves fast without necessarily feeling rushed. Pros:
+ Fun combat
+ Gorgeous visuals
+ Engaging characters
+ Well-paced story Cons:
- Lack of innovation
- Repetitive gameplay loop
- Uninteresting story Narrative: 4/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Content: 6/10
Characters: 6/10
Graphics/Audio: 10/10 Final Rating: 6/10
- Decent -
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is merely a decent stand-alone expansion for one of the best games in the entire series, it doesn't try to do anything new, it's just a little bit more of Uncharted 4, and that's all there is to it. Do I recommend it?:
Only if you're a big fan of Uncharted 4.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion7
Oct 1, 2024
Finally I got to play Crisis Core, the prequel story to Final Fantasy VII. As a massive fan of the original Final Fantasy VII and the remake compilation, I always wanted to play this game, so I'm glad it got its own remake for the modern systems.
With all that being said though, Reunion isn't exactly a full blown remake, it's more like an overglorified remaster, which isn't necessarily a bad thing because it looks much better than its original version on the PSP for the most part, however, many parts of its gameplay still feel more suitable for a portable system, like the linearity and the smaller scale of its world, or the monotonous mission design. Also, the CGI looks pretty outdated by today's standards.
The gameplay has been improved though, it actually feels more akin to the remake in that regard, but more repetitive and with less variety in every way.
As for the story and its characters, it's a bit of a mixed bag, but it's still engaging nonetheless. While I really like how it expanded on some ideas that Final Fantasy VII didn't touch on enough and made some things clearer, ultimately I don't think it's a story worth playing through if you've already played Final Fantasy VII because that game spoils Crisis Core for you anyway, and the new characters just aren't interesting either. Pros:
+ Improved visuals
+ Reworked combat system
+ Story ideas Cons:
- Linear structure
- Mission design
- Repetitive gameplay Narrative: 6/10
Gameplay: 6/10
Content: 7/10
Characters: 5/10
Music: ?/10
Graphics/Audio: 7/10 Final Rating: 6.5/10
- Pretty Good -
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is just a great remaster of a decent spin-off that serves as a nice additional Final Fantasy VII content, however, it's limited to the PSP technology in many ways and it's also... kind of unnecessary. Do I recommend it?:
Only at low price or from a deal, even if you're a Final Fantasy VII fan.

Xenoblade Chronicles 310
Aug 30, 2024
Finally, I played Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the culmination of the trilogy.
Not gonna lie, I got into this game with low expectations because I wasn't a big fan of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and fortunately, I actually came out of this one feeling impressed; in fact, it might be my favorite Xenoblade Chronicles game yet.
First of all, I'm surprised by how emotional and beautiful the story is and how interesting its themes were. It's not perfect though, the pacing is a bit slow at times, but the overall story is really good.
The characters on the other hand, are my favorite in the entire series and probably my favorite part of the game.
The gameplay is the best in the series by far, it removes all the tedious elements the previous game had, it has QoL improvements like much faster pace, 6 active party members, deeper customization, better revive and chain attack system, adds the class and the interlink systems, references both previous games in its own ways, and it even adds new minor elements as well.
The exploration and the side-content is the best in the series by far as well, better quest design, better maps and navigation system, better NPCs, it's all just better.
Also, the art style is beautiful even if the graphics quality and the performance aren't the best.
Now, even though both the music and the world setting are amazing, they're slightly less memorable than in the previous games in my opinion, but only slightly. Pros:
+ Great story
+ Lovable and engaging characters
+ Very enjoyable gameplay
+ Many noticeable improvements and tweaks
+ Gorgeous art and world + Awesome soundtrack Cons:
- Minor pacing issues Narrative: 8/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Content: 10/10
Characters: 9/10
Music: 9/10
Art Style: 8/10 Final Rating: 9.5/10
- Outstanding -
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 takes all the good parts of the previous games, improves upon them and addresses literally every flaw and gripe I had with its predecessor. It's arguably the best Xenoblade Chronicles game ever and it's definitely one of the best JRPGs in the past... 2 decades. Do I recommend it?:
Must-play for fans of the series and JRPG fans in general.

Mass Effect: Andromeda5
Aug 16, 2024
Despite hearing mostly mixed and even negative thoughts on this game, I tried to get into Andromeda open-minded.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is not connected to the original trilogy, so it's more of a spin-off or a new sub-series in the Mass Effect franchise. With that being said, its openness and some of its ideas make it feel quite similar to the first Mass Effect game, more so than the other games in the series.
Unfortunately thought, Mass Effect: Andromeda doesn't share the epic scale and stakes of the original trilogy, in fact, it's even less epic than the first game of the trilogy.
Another thing it doesn't share with the original trilogy is... well, a good story and engaging characters; uhmmm... yeah, it's rough, there are some cool ideas about them, I guess, but they're largely forgettable and just bland, and the pacing is slow as well.
At least the gameplay is mostly enjoyable, it feels satisfying and fluid, there's a decent depth and variety, it's just fun.
The visuals are very good too, particularly when it comes to the world design, not just the graphics.
The quest design, however, is very repetitive, especially for the first half of the game.
Also, details like the user interface is kind of a mess, the facial expressions and animations in general are awkward most of the time, and the voice acting is hit or miss as well.
The performance isn't perfect either, but the game runs well for the most part. Pros:
+ Interesting plot ideas
+ Fun gameplay
+ Great visuals Cons:
- Underwhelming story and characters
- Slow pacing
- Weak quest design
- Minor details and technical issues
- Animations Narrative: 4/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Content: 6/10
Characters: 4/10
Music: ?/10
Graphics/Audio: 8/10 Final Rating: 5/10
- Mediocre -
All in all, Mass Effect: Andromeda feels like an outdated, rushed and lazy spin-off, and an unfortunate follow-up to an absolutely legendary videogame trilogy; it's not a bad game per se, it's just a disappointingly average and heavily flawed third person shooter RPG in a series filled with amazing games. Do I recommend it?:
Only if you wanna dive deeper into the series, otherwise, not really.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception8
Aug 6, 2024
And finally, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, a controversial entry in the series, which is the reason why I got into the game with low expectations, unlike in Uncharted 2.
Despite that, however, I came out of Uncharted 3 feeling satisfied; it's a very solid game overall, it just happens to have some noticeable problems.
As always though, I'm gonna start off with the positives.
First of all, I really like some of the story ideas and themes Uncharted 3 has, it feels more personal and ambitious than the stories in the other Uncharted games, including Uncharted 4.
The characters are still good in this game, not a fan of the antagonists unfortunately but the main characters are still as good as ever.
The puzzles are more interesting than the puzzles in the first 2 games by far, some are slightly annoying but most of them are just better.
Also, the set-pieces and visuals are some of the best in the series up to that point.
With all that being said, the game is flawed, for example, the writing is a bit messy, some plot points feel unfinished and they don't make a whole lot of sense because of that.
While the gameplay is still fun for the most part, the emphasis on melee combat brings down the enjoyment at times because the melee combat is kind of tedious on its own.
Lastly, the game just feels very similar to Uncharted 2 in most ways, it doesn't really improve or expand on anything Uncharted 2 did, it's just more of the same. Pros:
+ Engaging plot
+ Likable characters
+ Beautiful set-pieces and visuals
+ Fun gameplay Cons:
- Inconsistent writing
- Repetitive gameplay loop
- Lack of innovation Narrative: 5/10
Gameplay: 6/10
Content: 8/10
Characters: 7/10
Music: ?/10
Graphics/Audio: ?/10 Final Rating: 7.5/10
- Very Good -
Unfortunately, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception feels a bit rushed; it's a great game with some obvious flaws that don't necessarily bring down the entire experience, but it's a step-back from Uncharted 2 for the most part. Do I recommend it?:
Yes, but I'd recommend playing Uncharted 2 prior to playing this one.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves9
Aug 5, 2024
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, often regarded as one of the greatest videogame sequels of all time, and rightfully so; it manages to improve upon the first game in literally every single way possible, which is impressive.
First of all, the gameplay is much better, the combat system feels more satisfying, and the platforming and the handling feel more precise. The gameplay loop still gets a bit repetitive after a while, but playing the game is fun all the way through.
The story and the characters are much better too, and the dialogue and the humor as well.
Visually, despite the outdated details, the graphics aged very well; the game looks quite gorgeous at times. Also, the set-pieces are simply amazing, they're much better than the set-pieces in the first game and arguably some of the best in the entire series.
Other major improvements over the first game are the pacing of both the gameplay and the story, the weapon variety, the unique locations, and even the puzzles.
It's just insane how much this game improves over the first game, seriously, the list goes on and on... Pros:
+ Fun gameplay
+ Interesting story
+ Great characters and nice humor
+ Awesome set-pieces
+ Improvements over the first game Cons:
- Repetitive gameplay loop Narrative: 6/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Content: 8/10
Characters: 8/10
Music: ?/10
Graphics/Audio: ?/10 Final Rating: 9/10
- Amazing -
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is a beyond perfect sequel and just a banger **** in general despite showing its age in few areas, and it's also arguably the best game in the series even to this day. Do I recommend it?:
Absolutely, you can even start with this one if you don't plan on playing the first Uncharted game.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune6
Aug 4, 2024
Yes, I'm one of those guys who started with Uncharted 4... not the smartest idea but at least I really liked that game.
I finally got around playing the first Uncharted game, usually regarded as the weakest game in the series, so I got into the game with low expectations, and... that was actually a smart idea.
Not to say Drake's Fortune is a bad game, far from it, but it's definitely weaker than a game like... well, A Thief's End, for example.
What surprised me in Drake's Fortune is the story; it's kind of generic for the most part, sure, but it has some nice plot points sprinkled through it and it keeps things intriguing from beginning to end.
The characters are fine too; the antagonists are largely forgettable unfortunately, but everyone else is likable and cool.
Also, the visuals, while obviously outdated, they don't look bad, and the set-pieces and even some animations hold up pretty well.
As for the gameplay, unfortunately, it's kind of a mixed bag; the controls and the shooting mechanics feel somewhat fine thanks to the remastered version, but the gameplay loop overall is very repetitive, the platforming, the movement and the cover system all feel floaty and clumsy, and the puzzles are just too simple and easy, they barely even feel like puzzles. Pros:
+ Interesting story
+ Likable characters
+ Good set-pieces Cons:
- Repetitive gameplay loop
- Awkward platforming and handling
- Easy puzzles Narrative: 5/10
Gameplay: 5/10
Content: 5/10
Characters: 5/10
Music: ?/10
Graphics/Audio: ?/10 Final Rating: 6/10
- Decent -
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is merely a promising beginning for the Uncharted series, nothing more and nothing less, and it's also one that leaves room for improvement in about every single way. Do I recommend it?:
Only if you're planning on getting into the series, otherwise, not really.

DOOM9
Aug 2, 2024
As someone who really enjoyed DOOM Eternal but didn't get to play the first Doom reboot before, I simply had to give this game a try someday.
DOOM, just like Eternal, is a fast-paced first-person shooter game that largely focuses on the gameplay. Unlike Eternal though, this one doesn't emphasize on resource management as much, it's more straight-forward and simple, focusing mostly on shooting. With that being said, just like Eternal, the gameplay in this game is simply incredible, it's a perfect first-person shooter in my opinion, there's nothing negative I can say about it, it plays like a dream.
As for the story, it's not interesting at all but it's also not important, DOOM doesn't really focus on the story at all, it's just kinda exists in the background to give you a reason to play through the game, nothing else.
As for the music, Doom games are known for their fantastic soundtracks, and it's true, DOOM's music is quite amazing, even better than Eternal's music I'd say.
Also, the visuals aged well, the game looks very good even to this day.
Surprisingly enough, I don't really have anything negative to say about the game; I can't think of any flaws to be honest, DOOM is like, the perfect first-person shooter game in my opinion. Pros:
+ Excellent gameplay
+ Awesome music
+ Great visuals Cons:
- None Narrative: ?/10
Gameplay: 10/10
Content: 8/10
Characters: ?/10
Music: 9/10
Graphics/Audio: 8/10 Final Rating: 9/10

Absolutely, a must-play for first-person shooter or action game fans.

Borderlands 37
Jul 26, 2024
Borderlands 3... what a game... what a great yet terrible game! I honestly don't even know how to start my review.
I genuinely hate almost everything about the game, but the gameplay, oh my god, the gameplay is just incredible, it's borderline perfect, seriously, all the weapons feel satisfying, and the weapon variety is just jaw-dropping.
Another thing I really like in this game is art style; it's gorgeous, a beautiful mix between cell shaded and slightly photorealistic at the same time.
With all that being said, I dislike everything else about the game; first and foremost, the humor and the dialogue in general... just... shockingly bad. I caught myself physically cringing and even turning down the volume multiple times with how absolutely awful it would get. It doesn't help that the characters try to make jokes constantly and they're talking all the goddamn time, but literally none of the jokes in the game land at all; the humor falls flat on its face through the entirety of the game... actually unbelievable.
As for the characters themselves, well, I hated most of them, while others were... fine, I guess.
Also, the story just ****, straight up, I don't have anything else to say about it, it's just a bad story that's centered around the most cringe and unfunny antagonists I've ever seen in any piece of media ever in my life; they're arguably the worst part of the entire game... and that's saying a lot. Pros:
+ Very enjoyable gameplay
+ Impressive weapon variety
+ Awesome art style Cons:
- Awful humor and writing
- Weak story and characters Narrative: 3/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Content: 7/10
Characters: 4/10
Music: 6/10
Art Style: 9/10 Final Rating: 6.5/10
- Pretty Good -
I have such a love-hate relationship with Borderlands 3; it's an absolutely wonderful game... when it wants to be, while on the other hand, it seems like it really wants you to hate it and make fun of it, and it tries very hard to achieve that. Fortunately though, it's not working well because I had a ton of fun playing through Borderlands 3 despite it's issues, and that's all that matters. Do I recommend it?:
Only to looter-shooter fans.

Control6
Jul 23, 2024
I had an urge to play something unique recently, so I decided to play through Control.
Not gonna lie, Control got me hooked very fast; its story and world grabbed my attention right from the get-go. While most of the game's story is a cryptic and subtle, it's also very damn engaging and intriguing. Unfortunately, its pacing is slow, particularly in the middle of the game, but it always gets you wondering and being curious about what's gonna happen next. Overall, it's a pretty decent story that I enjoyed experiencing... up until the ending; I'm not exaggerating when I say this, but Control has one of the worst endings I've seen in a videogame, ever; it's genuinely insulting, it throws literally everything out of the window and it makes the entire experience absolutely meaningless. On top of that, it ends VERY abruptly, like, it barely even feels like an ending... it's just... shockingly bad.
At least the gameplay is good; it's fun, it's not necessarily deep but it feels great and all the mechanics are really cool. With that being said, I don't like the healing system much, the mission design is quite repetitive, and the map is just a mess, it makes navigation frustrating at times.
The visuals, audio, world design, aesthetic and setting are all beautiful, arguably the best parts of the game in my opinion.
Also, I appreciated the light horror elements in this game, and I appreciated even more the mix of horror and comedy at times, charming stuff. Pros:
+ Interesting plot ideas
+ Fun gameplay
+ Fascinating world design and art direction
+ Gorgeous visuals Cons:
- Slow pacing
- Awful ending
- Minor gameplay elements
- Navigation system Narrative: 4/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Content: 7/10
Characters: 5/10
Music: ?/10
Graphics/Audio: 9/10 Final Rating: 6.5/10
- Pretty Good -
Control is better than the sum of its parts, it's a very charming and mostly enjoyable game... with some noticeable annoyances unfortunately, but still, it's a good experience nonetheless... well, outside of that awful ending that completely brings down the entire experience. Do I recommend it?:
I'd say yes, but only if you're actually interested in playing it.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider7
Jul 21, 2024
Last but not least, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the conclusion to the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy.
I'm gonna be honest with you, I went into this game with low expectations because I heard from many people who played the game saying that it's "more of the same", but I came out quite... impressed; to a large degree, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is indeed "more of the same" unfortunately, just like its predecessor, however, the game manages to stand out from the previous games this time in its own ways; the vast majority of the game barely even has any action for example, there's a ton of emphasis on exploration, platforming, puzzles, mechanics, stealth and visuals, and they're all executed very well for the most part.
Also, the Mayan setting is easily my favorite setting in the entire trilogy, for sure.
As for the combat system itself, it's almost the exact same as in the previous games, unfortunately, and I wish there was more innovation to it.
The story and the characters are mostly uninteresting once again, but at least they're not filled with coincidences like in the previous games of the trilogy, and the personal themes add to them.
Just like its predecessor, by the way, I'm not entirely sure if it's the PC port's fault again, but the game's performance isn't the best; there are some frame drops at times, nothing game-breaking of course, but definitely noticeable. Pros:
+ Emphasis on exploration
+ Great puzzles
+ Interesting mechanics
+ Gorgeous visuals and setting
+ Fun gameplay Cons:
- Lack of innovation
- Underwhelming story
- Frame drops Narrative: 4/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Content: ?/10
Characters: 4/10
Graphics/Audio: 9/10 Final Rating: 7/10
- Good -
Shadow of the Tomb Raider might be yet another safe installment in the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy, however, it also feels quite different in its own way, making it the most unique experience of the trilogy... and my personal favorite one. Do I recommend it?:
Yes but only if you've already played the previous games.

Rise of the Tomb Raider5
Jul 19, 2024
Moving on to Rise of the Tomb Raider, the direct sequel to the Tomb Raider reboot.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is a direct sequel through and through; everything feels familiar, from story structure to gameplay, mechanics, characters e.t.c.
With that being said though, Rise of the Tomb Raider feels a bit too familiar; minor gameplay additions aside, it almost feels like the exact same game as the first game, unfortunately. There are more stealth mechanics, more emphasis on exploration, less QTEs and lower encounter rate, which is all good, but the gameplay overall still feels the exact same as in the first game because all the gameplay changes are either very minor or meaningless, for example, the stealth improvements don't really matter because the A.I. is terrible, and the emphasis on exploration is gone during the second half of the game.
As for the story... it's quite bad, worse than I expected. The story isn't just generic like in the first game, but it's also filled with conveniences and nonsensical plot points, and the antagonists are lame as well.
The characters, however, while still not necessarily good, are somewhat more likable than in the first game.
Another improvement in this game is the visuals; they are much better than in the first game, the game actually looks beautiful even to this day, unlike its predecessor.
The set-pieces look impressive for the most part too, even though they get a bit repetitive after a while, not gonna lie.
Last but not least, I'm not sure if that's the PC port's fault, but the game's performance is not very good; there are noticeable frame drops constantly. Pros:
+ Enjoyable gameplay
+ Beautiful visuals
+ Great set-pieces Cons:
- Lack of innovation
- Very bad A.I.
- Underwhelming story and characters
- Frame drops Narrative: 3/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Content: ?/10
Characters: 4/10
Graphics/Audio: 8/10 Final Rating: 5/10

Rise of the Tomb Raider is a very safe sequel; it's almost the exact same game as the first game but with a worse story and barely any noticeable gameplay improvements. Do I recommend it?:

Tomb Raider6
Jul 17, 2024
Finally got around to playing the modern Tomb Raider trilogy, starting off with the 2013 reboot.
To be honest, I didn't have high expectations before getting into this game, I expected it to be just a decent action game with cool set-pieces, and that's what it ended up being; it's okay, it has a surprisingly enjoyable combat system outside of the QTEs, amazing set-pieces, the tombs and their puzzles are quite fun, and even the visuals aged well.
I also really like the setting and some plot ideas sprinkled through the story, and that's about it.
Unfortunately, the story is underwhelming, it's very generic, it's filled with coincidences, and most of the characters are very forgettable, bland and underdeveloped. It doesn't help that the mission design is pretty monotonous for the most part, having you constantly going from one shoot-out to the next, to rescue uninteresting side-characters.
With that being said, it's a fun game to play, and it even has some light horror elements at times that I really appreciated because they fit with the setting of the game and the protagonist's development. Pros:
+ Enjoyable gameplay
+ Fantastic set-pieces
+ Interesting setting Cons:
- QTEs
- Writing and characters

Tomb Raider is a generic action third person shooter game for the most part, but it's an enjoyable experience nonetheless, and it even leaves room for improvement. Do I recommend it?:
I recommend it only if you're planning on going through the entire trilogy, otherwise... probably not.

Mass Effect8
Jul 11, 2024
Last but not least for me, the first Mass Effect.
The reason why I didn't play this game before playing Mass Effect 2 and 3 is because I already got spoiled on it, but since I played and loved Mass Effect 2 and 3, I just had to play the first Mass Effect as well.
Unfortunately, Mass Effect didn't age very well compared to its sequels, most gameplay elements feel either bland or tedious, from the shooting mechanics, to the driving system and useless sprinting, it's all kind of weak.
However, Mass Effect excels in other areas, such as the story, characters, world building, set-pieces and sound.
Mass Effect's story is great, it's probably the best in the series even if it's not a high bar in my opinion, and it has a decent pacing on top of that.
The characters are good too, they're not developed yet because they're in the beginning of their story in this game, but they're likable nonetheless and they all play crucial roles.
One of the best parts of the game for me, is the world building and the universe in general, it's just fantastic, very detailed and interesting.
Also, while the graphics look a bit outdated, the presentation and the music is still immersive even to this day.
Something interesting I noticed in the game, by the way, is the minor technical issues I had, particularly with the sound of the game. Not a big deal of course, but it's worth mentioning. Pros:
+ Very good story
+ Engaging characters
+ Awesome world building
+ Beautiful presentation Cons:
- Awkward gameplay elements
- Minor technical issues Narrative: 8/10
Gameplay: 5/10
Content: 7/10
Characters: 7/10
Music: 6/10
Graphics/Audio: ?/10 Final Rating: 8/10
- Great -
Mass Effect might show its age in some areas, but it's still a great introduction to the legendary Mass Effect trilogy. Do I recommend it?:
Yes, definitely, mostly because of its superior sequels though.

Baldur's Gate 310
May 15, 2024
I've never played Dungeons & Dragons, Baldur's Gate or any CRPG ever in my life, but I'm just gonna say it straight away; this game is **** nuts! From the nearly endless amount of gameplay options, to the absolute freedom of choice, constant decisions that matter and different outcomes, unparalleled depth, variety and content, Baldur's Gate 3 is without a doubt, the ultimate RPG of all time, hands down.
The story of the game, however, is divided into 3 Acts.
Act 1 is probably the best and most well-designed videogame experience I've ever had, 40 hours worth of content.
Act 2 is half the lenght of the other 2 acts and more linear, but it's a refreshing change of pace and a great continuation of the first act.
Act 3 is the culmination of the entire story and it's very similar to the first act, albeit slightly less polished, but it's incredible nonetheless.
Overall, the story is very interesting and well-written, although it relies heavily on side-stories like many other RPGs.
The characters are some of the best I've seen in an RPG, period.
The visuals and the music are amazing as well, even though the visuals didn't particularly impress me.
Unfortunately, the game suffers from some minor technical issues at times, like pop-ins and input lag, but it's not a big deal at all. Pros:
+ Excellent gameplay
+ RPG elements and depth
+ Variety and content
+ Intriguing story
+ Wonderful characters
+ Beautiful music and visuals Cons:
- Minor technical issues Narrative: 9/10
Gameplay: 10/10
Content: 10/10
Characters: 10/10
Music: 9/10
Graphics/Audio: 9/10 Final Rating: 10/10
- Masterpiece -
At the end of the day, I'm thankful at Larian Studios for dedicating mind and soul to create such a passionately crafted work of art in every single way. The developers really cared about this game and it shows; Baldur's Gate 3 is the kind of videogame other studios should strive to make, and it also manage to do the impossible; I can't even believe that I'm saying this but it might even be my new favorite videogame of all time at this point. Do I recommend it?:
Must-play for RPG fans and highly recommended for everyone else too.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth10
Mar 1, 2024
Final Fantasy VII is my favorite Final Fantasy game and the Remake was amazing, however, it was merely a prologue of a bigger narrative that took place in a linear world, and it couldn't show its true potential yet. With Final Fantasy VII Rebirth though, it finally did; featuring the middle act of Final Fantasy VII's story and an open world filled with content, this game is everything Final Fantasy VII fans dreamed ****, the story and the characters remain very faithful to the original game for the most part, however, Rebirth expanded on them in every way possible, and they absolutely nailed them. Unfortunately, I don't really like some of the new story additions to be honest, but at least they don't get in the way of the main story; in fact, the main story is even better than in the original game so **** for the open world, it has repetitive structure for sure, however, it's filled with surprises, rewards and content, and the towns are the most detailed I've ever seen in a **** gameplay has been improved upon in every way, from aerial combat to exploration, reworked movesets, mini-games, synergy skills, new limit breaks, better quest design, and more. Also, the visuals are gorgeous despite some blurry textures, and the music is just unbelievable; every single corner of the game has a banger in it, and the rearranged tracks are absolutely wonderful.Pros:+ Expanded story and characters+ Open world filled with content+ Excellent gameplay+ Breathtaking graphics+ Incredible musicCons:- Inconsistent writingNarrative: 8/10Gameplay: 10/10Content: 10/10Characters: 10/10Music: 10/10Graphics/Audio: 9/10Final Rating: 10/10- Masterpiece -Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a JRPG masterpiece that honors Final Fantasy VII's legacy to the fullest and marks the new "Golden Age" for the Final Fantasy series, 20 years later. With Rebirth, the Remake compilation is shaping up to be my new favorite installment in my favorite videogame series of all **** I recommend it?:Must-play for Final Fantasy VII fans.Newcomers should at least play the Remake prior to playing Rebirth.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut7
Sep 3, 2023
Well, I finally played Death Stranding, and oh boy... I have a lot to say about this ****, many of people have accused the game for being a "walking simulator", and I understand why, but is it truly a walking simulator? Μy answer is a resounding... no, Death Stranding is not a walking simulator. First of all, the game has combat system, driving and boss fights, although all of them are astonishingly bad, and also, it has many different mechanics to help you traverse though the map or engage with enemies. So no, it's not a walking simulator, however... the gameplay loop is tedious for sure; most of the orders in the game are fetch quests, there's constant micromanagement through bloated UI, there are many unnecessary cutscenes that interrupt the gameplay... but I enjoyed it... a lot? Like, it all sounds horrible, sure, however, it's oddly enjoyable, and it's absolutely fascinating. Also, it's even quite... emotional, because of 3 things; the plot, the multiplayer and the wonderful **** also helps that the graphics and the environments are **** for the story... I really liked it overall, it's very good, however, I think it has some issues as well; it feels a bit nonsensical because the delivery is mostly convoluted, and the pacing is quite slow in the first half.Pros:+ Varied mechanics+ Unique gameplay+ Multiplayer utility+ Incredible music+ Fantastic visuals+ Intriguing narrativeCons:- Very bad combat system and driving- Awful bosses fights- Fetch quests- Tiring cutscenes- Convoluted storytelling- Slow first halfNarrative: 8/10Gameplay: ?/10Characters: 6/10Music: 10/10Graphics/Audio: 10/10Final Rating: 7.5/10- Very Good -Death Stranding was made by people who fully respect the medium and see it as nothing short of a form of art; the game oozes with love and passion for art itself, either by having a powerful vision or rewarding the player with music tracks from various artists for their accomplishments, and I'll always respect it for that, even if it is an impressively flawed **** I recommend it?:Maybe? At low price, just to try it out.

BioShock 2 Remastered6
Jan 26, 2024
BioShock 2 is often considered to be the "black sheep" of the BioShock series, and after playing through the game myself... I can see why. That's not to say BioShock 2 is a bad game though, far from it, however, it's definitely the worst game in the series in my opinion.
While the story has some great ideas, the lack of interesting plot, weak antagonist and absence of plot twists ultimately make the fetch quests meaningless.
The gameplay, however, is still enjoyable, and the new weapons, tools, dual wielding and enemy types are all great. Unfortunately, it feels way too similar to the first game, almost as if the game is supposed to be a standalone expansion to the first game.
Also, Rapture doesn't have the same impact as in the first game, but at least it maintains the intriguing atmosphere and history behind it. Pros:
+ Good story ideas
+ Fun gameplay
+ Nice gameplay additions Cons:
- Underwhelming plot
- Fetch quests
- Clunky handling Narrative: 4/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Content: ?/10
Characters: 5/10
Music: ?/10
Graphics/Audio: ?/10 Final Rating: 6.5/10
- Pretty Good -
BioShock 2 is so much of a faithful and direct sequel to the first game in every single way, to the point where it doesn't actually feel like a proper sequel; instead, it feels like a standalone expansion with the lenght of the first game. Do I recommend it?: Not really, unless you want to get deeper into the BioShock series.

BioShock Remastered9
Jan 25, 2024
As someone who played BioShock Infinite few years ago and fell in love with its world and concept, I was very interested to get into the game that started it all and delve into Rapture.
After finishing my playthrough of BioShock though, what do I think of Rapture; it's honestly one of my favorite places in videogame, ever, and it has some of the best world building, atmosphere and history I've ever seen. It's undoubtedly the highlight of the game alongside the story; it's absolutely incredible, and all its philosophical and profound elements are done masterfully. BioShock is honestly one of the most profound videogames I've ever played, hands down, and it doesn't even have an inch of pretentiousness, at all.
The characters are good too, especially the primary antagonist of the game, but they mostly exist to serve the story and its philosophical themes.
Same goes for the gameplay; it's enjoyable enough to serve the story for at least 1 playthrough.
Unfortunately though, it feels a bit clunky and dated, but adjusting the sensitivity almost entirely fixes that issue.
Also, interestingly enough, BioShock actually managed to sour my taste of BioShock Infinite a little bit, and that's because of several reasons, like the 2 weapon limit, the linear level design, the unnecessarily complicated story, the streamlined gameplay elements and the lack of proper saving system. BioShock Infinite is still a great game though, it just feels like an overglorified spin-off instead of a mainline installment, and not masterfully executed like the first BioShock. Pros:
+ Outstanding world building and design
+ Excellent story
+ Nice characters
+ Fun gameplay Cons:
- Clunky handling Narrative: 10/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Content: ?/10
Characters: 7/10
Music: 9/10
Graphics/Audio: ?/10 Final Rating: 9/10
- Amazing -
BioShock is one of the most profound videogames of the past 3 generations, a work of art in every sense of the phrase and a narrative masterpiece for the videogame medium. Do I recommend it?:
Yes, absolutely. The gameplay can feel slightly outdated, sure, but adjusting the sensitivity can make it enjoyable.

Final Fantasy XIII4
Jan 1, 2024
Final Fantasy XIII is often cited as one of the most controversial games in the entire series.
As someone who got into the series only few years ago, I didn't have any expectations before playing Final Fantasy XIII and I tried to get into the game open-minded.
Now, a common complaint I heard from people before playing the game is that its level design is very linear. After playing through the game though, I can indeed confirm that the game is so goddamn linear, most of the game has you walking through narrow hallways and it almost feels like an interactive movie at times.
As for the story, there's a lack of proper introduction and explanation of important terms and plot points until halfway through, but it's too late at that point, and the second half suffers from absolutely terrible writing that doesn't make sense. Because of that, the story falls flat on its face and its characters aren't good enough to save it.
The gameplay though, is complicated; the first few hours were genuinely the most repetitive and mindless sections I've ever played through in a videogame, maybe ever. However, after the introduction of the paradigm shift, the gameplay got much better. With that being said though, the gameplay is not very good for the most part, not because it doesn't work well, but because it gets tedious outside of the boss fights, and the lenght of some chapters doesn't help.
Despite all of these flaws though, I got to say, Final Fantasy XIII is a great looking game even to this day, and its music is good too. Pros:
+ Serviceable cast
+ Interesting gameplay ideas
+ Beautiful visuals
+ Nice music Cons:
- Awfully linear structure
- Convoluted narrative
- Very bad story
- Slow pacing Narrative: 2/10
Gameplay: 6/10
Content: 6/10
Characters: 5/10
Music: 7/10
Graphics/Audio: ?/10 Final Rating: 4/10
- Weak -
Final Fantasy XIII is blinded by its obsession to deliver a more cinematic experience than its predecessors while simultaneously utterly failing to deliver an engaging and well-written story.
Just... why? Do I recommend it?:
Probably only to those who want to get deeper into the series... at low price.

Code Vein7
Oct 27, 2023
I had an urge to play a Souls game as well recently, so I decided to give Code Vein a try.
Code Vein is basically "Anime Dark Souls", but not from the same developer team; it's just heavily inspired by Dark Souls.
Its story, however, is not delivered via environmental storytelling like in the Dark Souls games, but proper cutscenes and dialogue. It's an interesting decision but many frequent cutscenes in games like these get annoying after a bit because they bring the gameplay to a halt.
As for the gameplay though, it's actually fun; typical awkward Souls camera aside, the combat system feels fluid, the build variety is good and some unique mechanics are cool. Also, the companion system is a great addition in my opinion.
The extraordinary fashion and visuals in Code Vein remind me much more of Bloodborne than Dark Souls, but paired with an "Anime" aesthetic.
Also, the story, the world design and many of its ideas lean closer to Bloodborne as well, and that's a wonderful thing.
The biggest highlight of the game for me, however, is the character creation and customization; it's honestly fantastic, better than in any Souls game I've played so far, including FromSoftware's Souls games.
With that being said though, the level design is hit or miss; the shortcuts and the interconnected levels are done well, but the environments are usually bland and repetitive, and the layouts are confusing most of the time.
Also, the bosses are mostly underwhelming and weak. Pros:
+ Enjoyable gameplay
+ Build diversity
+ Awesome fashion
+ Nice visuals
+ Amazing character customization Cons:
- Cutscenes
- Clunky camera
- Inconsistent level design
- Disappointing bosses Narrative: ?/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Content: 7/10
Characters: ?/10
Music: 6/10
Art Style: 7/10 Final Rating: 7/10

Code Vein is indeed "Anime Dark Souls" and a surprisingly good "Soulslike" game, but it's still a much inferior game to FromSoftware's legendary progenitor series. Do I recommend it?:
If you are a fan of FromSoftware's Souls games, I'd highly recommend it but at low price.
Otherwise, just play any of FromSoftware's recent Souls games first.

Scarlet Nexus4
Oct 24, 2023
I had an urge to play another Action JRPG recently, so I decided to give Scarlet Nexus a try.
Despite hearing mostly decent things about the game, I didn't have high expectations for it, and after playing through the it, I'm glad I did, for several reasons.
First of all, I'm gonna get 2 things out of the way; the gameplay is very good, it's not perfect, but it's deep enough to keep the player entertained for at least 1 playthrough.
Also, the art style is good as well.
With that being said, however, the most interesting thing about Scarlet Nexus is that everything else in this game just... kinda ****.
The worst offender in my opinion is the whole "PowerPoint presentation/Manga panel" looking cutscenes; oh my god, they're SO goddamn boring! And if that wasn't enough, the story, the writing and the characters are just terrible; they're filled with every generic trope imaginable, and so many things don't even make sense. It's like the game doesn't even try to be interesting or unpredictable in the slightest.
It doesn't help that the game is very linear, so you go from "PowerPoint presentation/Manga panel" looking cutscene to cutscene every few minutes, listening to the characters all the time.
Also, while the game's world has interesting concept and ideas, the level design is very bad most of the time, the environments look repetitive, and many areas are revisited multiple times through the story.
Lastly, the enemy and boss variety is just awful, straight up. Pros:
+ Enjoyable gameplay
+ Nice visuals
+ Intriguing concept Cons:
- Very boring cutscene format
- Badly written & completely generic story and characters
- Extremely linear structure and level design
- Backtracking
- Repetitive level and enemy variety
- Pacing Narrative: 2/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Content: 6/10
Characters: 2/10
Music: ?/10
Art Style: 7/10 Final Rating: 4/10
- Weak -
Scarlet Nexus is the kind of game where you have to "turn off your brain" and enjoy the gameplay without paying attention to anything else around it... because everything else in this game ****. Do I recommend it?:

Cyberpunk 20779
Sep 23, 2023
This is a review for the 2.1 version of the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 was arguably one of the most anticipated games of all time, and unfortunately, it launched in an unfinished state, making it a very disappointing release for many people.
Personally, I liked the game since launch, however, I always acknowledged its flaws.
One thing most people agreed on even when the game initially came out, is that its story is great, and that's true. Unfortunately, it's also pretty short in my opinion, but it's very intriguing nonetheless.
The characters are great too; Johnny in particular actually impressed me, and the side-characters are amazing as well.
The gameplay is a bit basic but very enjoyable nonetheless and it has adequate amount of depth, even if the A.I. can be dumb at times.
The world is fantastic; Night City is one of my favorites places in a videogame, period, and most of the side-quests are awesome, just like in The Witcher.
Also, the visuals are gorgeous and the music is incredible.
Unfortunately for the game though, even after the improvements of the 2.1 update, Cyberpunk 2077 is still not the game that was promised to be; it lacks meaningful dialogue options and side-activities, and the life-paths are still irrelevant. Pros:
+ Compelling story
+ Lovable and engaging characters
+ Fun and varied gameplay
+ Night City is absolutely spectacular
+ Wonderful quest design Cons:
- Short storyline
- Meaningful dialogue options
- Lack of side-activities Narrative: 8/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Content: 9/10
Characters: 9/10
Music: 10/10
Graphics/Audio: 9/10 Final Rating: 9/10
- Amazing -
I can safely say that Cyberpunk 2077 finally feels finished; it plays like a proper modern Open World RPG with very interesting narrative and characters, highly enjoyable gameplay and an amazing world filled with meaningful content, however, it's still not the "next generation RPG" game that was promised to be. Do I recommend it?:
Highly recommended for people who own PC/PS5/Xbox Series X/S.
At low price for PS4 and Xbox One owners.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales7
Aug 28, 2023
It always seemed disappointing to me how Miles Morales isn't supposed to be a proper sequel to the first game, but a stand-alone expansion kind of thing. What's even more disappointing, however, is the initial price of the game; $70/€80 for a 6 hours long game, it genuinely feels like a scam, especially for a PS5 launch title, yet it doesn't even use haptic feedback technology at all.
It all sounds horrible unfortunately, but aside from these things, at least the game is actually fun and high quality; it's enjoyable, it has a passable story that focuses on not-so interesting characters, but the character development is good enough and Miles is a decent protagonist with a lot of potential.
The story is also very short though, clocking at around 6 hours, maybe slightly more for some people, but it's still short... and unacceptable for a full priced game.
The gameplay, however, is very good! It's similar to the gameplay of the first game but with some cool tweaks and additions, and the boss fights are much better this time.
Also, the visuals are gorgeous and surprisingly, the music is very fitting and distinct.
The mission design and the puzzles get repetitive after a while though.
Lastly, similarly to the first game, the open world is mostly empty and it has barely any meaningful content, although it's even worse in this one because the game is much shorter and has even less side-content. Pros:
+ Serviceable narrative
+ Nice set-up for the actual sequel
+ Great gameplay
+ Very beautiful graphics
+ Good music Cons:
- Very short story
- Monotonous mission design
- Repetitive puzzles
- Empty and boring open world Narrative: 5/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Content: 3/10
Characters: 4/10
Music: 7/10
Graphics/Audio: 10/10 Final Rating: 7/10

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a fun experience and a very good stand-alone expansion to the first game, but unfortunately, it's not being treated as a stand-alone expansion by its publisher. Do I recommend it?:

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart8
Aug 27, 2023
Not gonna lie, after playing the 2016 reboot of the series, I was a bit unsure if I wanted to play Rift Apart because I didn't enjoy playing that game at all.
To my surprise, however, I can safely say Rift Apart is genuinely a fun game to play; in fact, I had a blast, like, I enjoyed it much more than I expected.
The gameplay has a lot of similarities to the older games and it can feel somewhat mindless when you're facing a wave of trash mobs, but it's not only refined in every single way possible; the haptic feedback made everything so much better, making the game all the more enjoyable to play.
The weapon variety is impressive once again, not surprising.
The story, while not exactly good or anything like that, is still enjoyable to play through, and the characters are pretty good.
The best part of the game though, is without a single doubt in my mind, the visuals; they're just incredible! The game truly looks and feels exactly how a next-generation game should, running at stable 60 FPS, no loading times, no technical issues, ray tracing and haptic feedback technology, gorgeous graphics... you just can't ask for more.
Also, most of the set-pieces are fantastic as well.
The game is definitely not perfect though, for example, the enemy and boss variety is seriously lacking, unfortunately.
The puzzles are all repetitive and they slow down the pacing most of the time.
Lastly, not exactly a serious flaw, more of a personal gripe, but I thought the humor felt a bit... immature and childlike for the most part; it was hit or miss. Pros:
+ Very fun gameplay
+ Haptic feedback
+ Amazing weapon variety
+ Breathtaking visuals
+ Awesome set-pieces Cons:
- Poor enemy and boss variety
- Tedious puzzles
- Inconsistent humor Narrative: ?/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Content: 5/10
Characters: 7/10
Music: ?/10
Graphics/Audio: 10/10 Final Rating: 8.5/10
- Really Great -
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart feels like a proper next-generation, PS5 exclusive through and through, and it's an absolute blast to play. Do I recommend it?:
Highly recommended for PS5 owners, as it showcases the technology of the PS5 perfectly well.

Hogwarts Legacy4
Aug 21, 2023
Before sharing my thoughts on Hogwarts Legacy, I want to make clear that I'm not a Harry Potter fan or anything like that, I only played the game because it looked very intriguing and I wanted to give it a try.
I got to say though, after finishing my playthrough of Hogwarts Legacy, the game was not what I expected at all.
While the story's premise sounds decent on paper, the execution is... really bad; the vast majority of the main quests are either fetch quests and filler, making the pacing pretty much non-existent, and the story itself is filled with laughable amount of conveniences. Also, having to level up by doing chores in order to unlock main missions is tedious.
Same goes for the characters; they're just very bland for the most part, and unfortunately, same goes for the gameplay as well; it's just not fun, the combat is very easy and completely mindless, the RPG elements are very shallow, and it doesn't help that the enemy and dungeon variety is lacking. At least some spells are kind of unique and useful in different ways.
However, the visuals are amazing for sure and the presentation is very good too! There are some technical issues at times, but the game looks beautiful nonetheless.
As for the side-content, Hogwarts Castle is definitely the highlight of the game despite feeling a bit repetitive; it looks impressive and it has many collectibles and puzzles to find, while the rest of the world feels empty and boring. Pros:
+ Cool premise
+ Interesting spells
+ Gorgeous visuals
+ Great presentation
+ Hogwarts Castle Cons:
- Horrible story and uninteresting characters
- Awful pacing
- Dull combat system and RPG elements
- Poor variety
- Technical issues
- Repetitive side-content Narrative: 2/10
Gameplay: 4/10
Content: 5/10
Characters: 3/10
Music: ?/10
Graphics/Audio: 9/10 Final Rating: 4/10
- Weak -
For Harry Potter fans, Hogwarts Legacy is probably a good game made from fairly passionate developers, however, for everyone else, Hogwarts Legacy is a painfully uninspiring Open World RPG that does the bare-minimum. Do I recommend it?:
I would recommend it only to Harry Potter fans or casual gamers.

Bloodborne: Complete Edition10
Aug 3, 2023
I got to say, as someone who didn't play any Souls games properly before, I was excited to play Bloodborne.
Just like in the Dark Souls games, Bloodborne's lore is told via environmental storytelling. Environmental storytelling might not be as engaging as linear storytelling but it enriches the game's world significantly. Thankfully enough, Bloodborne's lore is compelling even if it's ambiguous for the most part.
The gameplay surprised me a lot; it's faster than I expected, it feels very satisfying, the mechanics are wonderful, there's a nice amount of unique items and the trick weapons are so goddamn badass, they're one of the coolest things in the entire game for me.
My favorite part of the game isn't the gameplay though, it's the haunting and frightening setting; Bloodborne's world is probably the best world I've seen in a videogame. It starts out as a gothic horror and it slowly transcends into a nightmarish cosmic horror that is able to find beauty in the dark. On top of that, the level design and the music are just perfect.
The graphics are not necessarily impressive but they're really good nonetheless.
Also, the bosses are intimidating, challenging and rewarding.
However, many of the bosses in the main game are somewhat easy and underwhelming in my opinion, but fortunately, the DLC makes up for it; The Old Hunters is essential to own if you enjoy playing Bloodborne because it features the best bosses in the entire game.
Now, while the gameplay is very enjoyable, the camera and the lock-on system are awkward at times, and farming for Blood Vials can be tedious at times. Pros:
+ Intriguing lore
+ Aggressive & diverse gameplay
+ Superb setting
+ Threatening & challenging bosses
+ Incredible level design and music
+ Amazing DLC Cons:
- Flawed camera and lock-on system
- Blood Vial system Gameplay: 9/10
Content: 9/10
Music: 10/10
Graphics/Audio: 8/10 Final Rating: 9.5/10
- Outstanding -
Bloodborne is a fascinating videogame experience in almost every way, and I wish could play it for even longer. Do I recommend it?:
Definitely! It's worth playing this game just for the setting alone.

Final Fantasy XVI10
Jul 28, 2023
After getting into the series with Final Fantasy VII Remake and working my way through some of the older games afterwards, the Final Fantasy series quickly became one of my favorite videogame series of all time.
I had very high expectations for Final Fantasy XVI, not only because I'm a big fan of the series, but also because it looked absolutely breathtaking from the trailers.
Having finally played the game, however, I can safely say that Final Fantasy XVI lived up to my expectations for the most part, and it even exceeded them in some areas; the story, for example, while not perfect, is arguably my favorite in the entire series, and the characters are fantastic too.
The gameplay is basically Devil May Cry 5 but less complex... but I love it nonetheless. The RPG elements are toned down for sure, but the action combat system and abilities are very enjoyable.
Also, the visuals are gorgeous, the music is epic as hell, and the boss fights... OH. MY. GOD! The Eikon bosses and the final boss in particular are probably the most spectacular bosses I've ever seen in a videogame.
Unfortunately, however, Final Fantasy XVI has some noticeable flaws as well; first of all, the game runs at below 60 FPS, which is borderline unacceptable in my opinion.
The mandatory fetch quests are my biggest problem with the game because they slow down the story at times.
Lastly, the world is kinda empty; it needs minigames and more content, but that's not a big deal for me personally. Pros:
+ Compelling story
+ Likable and engaging characters
+ Amazing gameplay
+ Breathtaking visuals and music
+ Jaw-dropping boss fights Cons:
- Performance issues
- Inconsistent pacing

By trying to diverge from the main series in many areas, Final Fantasy XVI is a divisive Final Fantasy game, however, it's not only the best mainline Final Fantasy game since XII, but it's also my personal favorite mainline game in the entire series alongside IX. Do I recommend it?:
Yes, to both fans and newcomers.

Horizon Forbidden West6
Jun 22, 2023
Horizon Zero Dawn was a very solid new beginning for a new series in my opinion and I was very excited for a possible sequel. The sequel, however, is slightly more complicated.
First of all, the story is really... disappointing; the writing is inconsistent, the plot lacks development, the antagonistic group barely appears in the game and their motivations make no sense at all. It does expand on the lore of the first game at least, but it relies on the first game's story way too much without going further, and even the last mission is very underwhelming.
Same goes for the characters; they're already quite disappointing in the first game, and they didn't get better in this game. The villains are comically evil, the supporting cast isn't engaging at all and even Aloy is uninteresting because all her development happened in the first game.
The gameplay, however, is really... good; it's similar to Zero Dawn's gameplay, but it has many QoL improvements and some cool new ideas, and more content than the first game overall.
Unfortunately though, some mechanics and minor details feel clunky, and the puzzles are pretty boring.
Last but not least, the visuals are some of the best I've seen in an Open World game, despite the surprising amount of pop-ins. Pros:
+ Fascinating lore
+ Great gameplay
+ QoL improvements
+ Nice amount of content
+ Breathtaking graphics Cons:
- Very weak narrative
- Slow pacing
- Uninteresting characters
- Awkward mechanics and tedious puzzles
- Technical and visual issues Narrative: 3/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Content: 7/10
Characters: 4/10
Music: ?/10
Graphics/Audio: 10/10 Final Rating: 6/10
- Decent -
In the end, Horizon Forbidden West feels unnecessary; it's more of a very slow build-up for a new story instead of the middle act of a trilogy, and its world lacks the mystery of the first game.
With that being said, however, it's still a decent experience overall, but not nearly as good as I hoped it would be. Do I recommend it?:
If you're a fan of the first game... yes, it's more of the same but bigger, although I wouldn't say it's better; I vastly prefer the first game personally.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom10
May 13, 2023
255 hours later, I finally saw the credits roll in this game and I still can't believe it's actually over; it felt like an experience of a lifetime.
As someone who loved Breath of the Wild and had sky-high (pun intended) expectations for Tears of the Kingdoms, I got to say... the game surpassed my expectations.
Now, while the combat system and the visuals remain largely the same as in Breath of the Wild, everything else has been improved; the story is more engaging, the puzzles are more creative, there's more enemy variety, the map has been changed in many areas and there's much more content overall.
However, being able to explore islands in the goddamn sky and the gloomy depths, paired up with Breath of the Wild's unmatched sense of exploration and even more player freedom, a huge world filled with so much content, 100 hours of playtime feels like barely scratching the surface, is an unbelievable achievement that I didn't think was possible for videogames.
And I thought Breath of the Wild had mind-blowing abilities and mechanics but Tears of the Kingdom puts it to shame with its new set of abilities and tweaks; they're simply game-changing.
With that being said though, I wish the sky islands were slightly more dense and the frame rate was more consistent. Pros:
+ Addictive gameplay
+ Groundbreaking new ideas
+ Massive world filled with nearly endless amount of content
+ Genius mechanics
+ Gorgeous visuals & audio Cons:
- Frame drops at times Narrative: 5/10
Gameplay: 10/10
Content: 10/10
Characters: 6/10
Music: 9/10
Art Style: 10/10 Final Rating: 10/10
- Masterpiece -
While Breath of the Wild was a breath of fresh air for the Open World genre, Tears of the Kingdom raises the bar for the Open World genre up to the skies both figuratively and literally, and it goes even further by redefining the limits of videogames in general.
This is a "once-in-a-decade" kind of game, an achievement in the videogame industry and a very strong contender for being the best videogame experience I've ever had. Do I recommend it?:
It makes Breath of the Wild obsolete, so it's a must-play.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim9
Apr 28, 2023
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim isn't a game that caught my attention, until a friend recommended me to give it a try mainly because of one thing; the story.
To be honest, I got into the game with high expectations for the story because I kept hearing how good it is, and after completing the game 100%, I got to say, I'm utterly blown away by how impressive 13 Sentinels's narrative is, not only because the story is incredible by itself, but also because of its unbelievably ambitious premise; 13 different protagonists, 5 different time periods, a concept that's bound to fail but somehow ended up being so well executed, it's mind-blowing.
What's even more mind-blowing, is how well-paced the story is, despite the 40 hours long run-time; it's consistently captivating from the beginning till the end.
With that being said, I don't think the story is completely perfect; it uses many Sci-Fi tropes at times, but the narrative as a whole is outstanding nonetheless, one of the best I've seen in a while and it definitely lived up to my expectations.
Thankfully, the characters are very engaging, likable and impactful, and even the characters I didn't like at first got much better in the process.
Also, the art style looks wonderful and the music is decent too.
The weakest part of the game, however, is anything gameplay related, particularly the Destruction mode, the Real-Time Strategy part of the game; it's kinda... meh, not necessarily boring but not exciting either. Pros:
+ Genius story-telling
+ Absolutely fantastic story
+ Compelling characters
+ Gorgeous visuals Cons:
- Unremarkable gameplay Narrative: 10/10
Gameplay: 5/10
Characters: 9/10
Music: 6/10
Art Style: 9/10 Final Rating: 9/10
- Amazing -
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is an extraordinary narrative-focused videogame with some fascinating ideas that I haven't seen in a videogame before, executed miraculously well.
The Real-Time Strategy gameplay might be somewhat lacking, but thankfully it's a very minor part of the game. Do I recommend it?:
Must-play if you're looking for engaging story and characters.
Avoid if you're looking for fun gameplay.

Resident Evil 7: biohazard8
Apr 13, 2023
Resident Evil 7, arguably the scariest modern Resident Evil and probably the least enjoyable one... but not in a bad way.
Once again in a Resident Evil game, the story is not good but it's not an important part of the game either, no need to analyze it.
Same goes for the characters, although the Baker family are very creepy and interesting antagonists, particularly Jack Baker, one of the most threatening yet fun antagonists in the entire series with some of the best moments in the game.
The gameplay is okay; everything works well, the shooting mechanics are satisfying and the survival horror elements are there, however, the movement is very slow and it gets annoying when facing the Molded; the main enemy type of the game and the only enemy type of the game, unfortunately.
The atmosphere and the setting though, are probably my favorite parts of the game; they're haunting, terrifying and disgusting, which are backed up by very good graphics and audio design.
As for the pacing, it's mostly consistent up until the last third of the game, where it feels dragged out, but the final boss is kinda cool. Pros:
+ Memorable antagonists
+ Decent gameplay
+ Compelling atmosphere + Wonderful setting
+ Beautiful visuals Cons:
- Poor enemy variety
- Boring enemy types
- Bloated last third Narrative: ?/10
Gameplay: 6/10
Content: ?/10

Yes but only if you enjoy playing horror games.

Resident Evil 410
Mar 31, 2023
As someone who didn't play the original Resident Evil 4 when it came out, I was still very excited to play the remake because I've been a big fan of Capcom's Resident Evil remakes so far and I had high expectations for it, and hoo boy...
Just like in every other Resident Evil game I've played, the story is not good at all. However, I'm impressed by how perfectly well-paced the plot and the gameplay is in this game; it's constantly exciting and enjoyable from the beginning till the end.
Talking about the gameplay, it's absolutely excellent! The shooting, the survival horror elements, the action and set-pieces, the mechanics, the weapon and item variety, the quality of life improvements over the previous Resident Evil games; everything is wonderful! Even the puzzles are very decent.
Although, I got to say, I found the game to be unexpectedly difficult at times, but it's not a big deal because the game is so enjoyable to play, it's honestly hard to put the controller down.
And even though the story is not good, the characters are surprisingly likable and interesting.
Also, unlike in the other Resident Evil games I've played, the bosses in Resident Evil 4 are really fun and cool for the most part, especially towards the end.
Last but not least, the audio and the graphics are breathtaking! Unfortunately the PS4 version of the game has few texture issues here and there, but the game looks awesome overall. Pros:
+ Perfect pacing
+ Addictive gameplay
+ Great QoL improvements
+ Good characters
+ Very cool bosses
+ Gorgeous visuals Cons:
- None Narrative: ?/10

Resident Evil 4 is an incredible videogame and an even more incredible Remake; it's Action-Survival Horror perfection and my favorite game in the Resident Evil series so far.

Tales of Arise4
Jan 7, 2023
I'm gonna be honest, I got my hands on this game last year, I played the first few hours and then I dropped it. I wanted to like the game but I couldn't get into it, so I decided to drop it.
However, I pushed through the game recently, and well...
The story follows a premise of taking down 5 Lords and it tackles interesting themes, but unfortunately, it feels consistently monotonous and underwhelming. Once you take down the 5 Lords though, it all goes downhill from there; it becomes a jumbled mess of nonsensical, ridiculous plot points, exposition dumps, plot holes and a rushed ending. It gets quite bad!
The characters aren't as bad as the story, but some of them are annoying and they make questionable decisions at times for no reason.
The combat system is good at least, it's not deep enough but it's fun and it looks cool.
Also, the art style is very good and the music is serviceable.
With that being said, while the gameplay is fun, the experience is brought down by uninspired level design, poor enemy variety, damage spongey bosses that make the game hard to play through and absolutely terrible pacing; oh my god, the pacing in this game is painful at times! It's genuinely some of the worst pacing I've experienced in any videogame, ever. It always makes things more complicated and tedious than they should be, and it tries to extend the length of the game by throwing damage spongey enemies everywhere, unnecessary cutscenes with repeated dialogue every few minutes, and even entire filler dungeons!
After the first 10 hours of the game, I was already feeling exhausted, seriously. Pros:
+ Enjoyable combat system
+ Great visuals
+ Decent music Cons:
- Bad story
- Dull level design
- Enemy variety
- Damage sponges
- Awful pacing Narrative: 3/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Content: ?/10
Characters: 4/10
Music: 6/10
Art Style: 8/10 Final Rating: 4/10

I'm disappointed in Tales of Arise... I really am.
I got into the game expecting it to be an exciting, intense Action JRPG, and I got a generic, boring and forgettable JRPG that I was longing for it to end. Do I recommend it?:
No, there are much better RPGs out there.

Super Mario Odyssey8
Nov 6, 2022
It's been very long since I played a Super Mario game before, so playing Super Mario Odyssey felt quite refreshing.
However, Super Mario Odyssey pays homage mainly to the older sandbox Mario games, which I haven't played before, and that made my experience with Odyssey interesting but also slighty... complicated.
Now, the story, just like in every other Super Mario game, is not important.
What's important in a Super Mario game, is the gameplay, and the gameplay in Super Mario Odyssey is the best in any Mario game I've played, and also arguably in any platformer game I've ever played; it's quite crazy, thanks to the excessive amount of different mechanics that sync in well with each other and Mario's moveset.
Visually, it's one of the better looking platformer games I've seen in the past few years, and the music is surprisingly good as well.
Additionally, the level design is detailed and creative, and the areas are fun to explore, albeit smaller than I expected.
Unfortunately though, the story is pretty short and the post-game content is very underwhelming and lackluster.
Also, the bosses are way too easy and repetitive.
My biggest gripe with the game, however, is an unpopular opinion. I know a lot of people won't agree with me on that, and that's fine but... I really don't like the progression system in this game; collecting Power Moons to progress through the story is tedious and it brought down the entire experience at times.
I can somewhat understand why most people like that though. Pros:
+ Exciting gameplay
+ Amazing mechanics
+ Beautiful visuals
+ Great level design Cons:
- Short playtime
- Boring post-game content
- Bad boss fights
- Progression system Gameplay: 9/10
Content: ?/10
Music: 7/10
Art Style: 9/10 Final Rating: 8/10
- Great -
Super Mario Odyssey is a very well-crafted game and it's arguably one of the better platformer games I've played in a while, but it has some serious annoyances as well.
All in all, it's a very good game but it's also surprisingly unremarkable and a little bit... disappointing. Do I recommend it?:
It's pretty fun to play for the most part, so yes.

Disco Elysium: The Final Cut9
Sep 23, 2022
Despite being a text-based RPG, Disco Elysium caught my attention thanks to its reception from critics and fans alike.
Now, even though Disco Elysium's gameplay loop consists mainly of dialogue, it's actually quite... addictive? Like, it's genuinely an extremely fun game to play because the dialogue is so incredibly engaging, well written and it utilizes some absolutely fantastic ideas that I've never seen before in a videogame. Besides, the gameplay doesn't consist solely of dialogue; the excessive amount of options that affect the story, the characters and even the gameplay, and the impressive skill system heavily enhance the overall experience.
However, the gameplay loop in Disco Elysium is not very important anyway because the game emphasises heavily on its narrative, characters and world building.
As for the narrative... it's one of the best written games I've ever played. The plot is quite simple, sure, but the writing is so goddamn compelling, it pulls you into Disco Elysium's wonderful world and it makes you forget about reality for few hours.
Additionally, the characters are engaging and well written as well, and the visuals and the music are good too.
Unfortunately for a game like Disco Elysium though, a text-based isometric RPG that mainly focuses on the dialogue, there is some fluff here and there.
Also, the handling and movement of the character feel a bit awkward most of the time, but it's not a big deal. Pros:
+ Fun text-based gameplay loop
+ Deep RPG elements and progression systems
+ Great story
+ Unparalleled writing
+ Very good characters Cons:
- Unnecessary dialogue in some instances
- Clunky handling Narrative: 9/10
Gameplay: ?/10
Content: 9/10
Characters: 8/10
Music: 7/10
Art Style: 7/10 Final Rating: 9/10
- Amazing -
Disco Elysium is without a doubt, one of the most well written and engaging videogames I've ever played. Do I recommend it?:
Yes but it's not for everyone.
If you don't enjoy playing story-driven videogames with a lot of dialogue and RPG elements, don't bother.
Otherwise, give Disco Elysium a try.

Shadow of the Colossus7
May 1, 2022
Shadow of the Colossus was a fascinating experience for me because I didn't play the original version on the PS2 back then, however, it was more complicated than I expected.
After hearing how unique and special this game is for years now, I finally decided to play it.
The story in Shadow of the Colossus is slightly ambiguous, but the vast, empty environments and the melancholic atmosphere make up for the story's ambiguity. Overall, it's a surprisingly decent story even if it's absent for the most part.
Unlike the story though, the gameplay is very basic, even though it's oddly enjoyable and satisfying.
The Colossi are absolutely spectacular; they're undoubtedly the highlight of the game, alongside the immense scale of the game and its gorgeous environments.
Also, the music is really good and the audio design is fantastic.
However, even though the gameplay is interesting, the repetitious nature of the gameplay loop gets slightly boring after a while, and the controls, camera and handling are so clumsy and bad in some instances, they make the game almost unplayable at times, ruining the entire experience, and that's very unfortunate. Pros:
+ Serviceable narrative
+ Exciting albeit basic gameplay
+ Immense scale
+ Stunning visuals
+ Great music Cons:
- Tiring gameplay loop
- Very awkward controls, camera & handling Narrative: 6/10
Gameplay: 4/10
Music: 8/10
Graphics/Audio: 9/10 Final Rating: 6.5/10
- Pretty Good -
Shadow of the Colossus looks like a PS4 game, however, it still plays like a PS2 game, unfortunately.
Regardless, it's a very unique and special experience even to this day... I just expected something more from a high quality modern Remake. Do I recommend it?:
If you're looking for a fun videogame experience, I probably wouldn't recommend it, but if you're looking for a unique videogame experience, I'd say yes.

Resident Evil 37
Apr 25, 2022
I was never interested in playing Resident Evil 3, but after playing Resident Evil 2, I wanted to play even more Resident Evil games.
I could've played Resident Evil 7: biohazard, however, I'm not a big fan of horror games, so I decided to play Resident Evil 3 because it doesn't emphasize on horror as much as Resident Evil 7 does.
Just like in every other Resident Evil game I've played, the story in Resident Evil 3 isn't good but it's not an important part of these games anyway.
The characters though, they're... alright, I guess? The side-characters are completely irrelevant but the main characters are actually pretty likable.
The gameplay is very similar to Resident Evil 2's gameplay but faster and more smooth, it's extremely fun once again, however, the headshots don't feel as satisfying for some reason, and the puzzles have been toned down so much, they're almost absent.
Also, the atmosphere is really good for the most part and it's not surprising that the graphics are incredible, and the audio design is amazing too.
Now, I haven't played the original game before, so I don't mind the cut content, however, I suppose because of that, the game is very short; it only took me 4 to 5 hours to finish my playthrough, and that's a bit underwhelming.
Last but not least, Nemesis, a tyrant who is supposed to be a major threat in the game, is not utilized well; he only appears in linear scripted events or boss fights, which are disappointing. Pros:
+ Addictive gameplay
+ Serviceable characters
+ Great atmosphere
+ Fantastic visuals & audio Cons:
- Puzzles are lacking
- Short run-time
- Nemesis & boss fights Narrative: ?/10
Gameplay: 9/10

Resident Evil 3 might be a weak Remake but it's actually a good game on it's own, despite mostly feeling like it's an overglorified DLC for Resident Evil 2. Do I recommend it?:
To be honest, I'd recommend playing Resident Evil 2 instead, but if you already played Resident Evil 2 before, I'd recommend Resident Evil 3 at low price.
Resident Evil 2 does everything Resident Evil 3 does, but better.

After 80+ hours, I finally get to talk about Elden Ring, FromSoftware's first Open World game.Unexpectedly enough, despite being FromSoftware's first Open World game, the open world in Elden Ring is quite possibly the best open world I've seen in a videogame... and that's mind-blowing. Seriously though, Elden Ring's open world proves how talented the developers at FromSoftware are; it has an overwhelming amount of optional content and surprises, the map size is absolutely massive, the world design is fascinating and the sense of freedom & exploration is simply unmatched, however, it's not necessarily perfect; the catacombs are repetitive and some bosses are re-used multiple **** top of the open world though, Elden Ring features the Legacy Dungeons; big areas that follow the traditional, complex level design of Dark **** gameplay in Elden Ring is Dark Souls III's gameplay but much better in literally every way + some additional mechanics to make things more accessible, even though the camera is still awkward at **** visuals are beautiful, the environments are breathtaking and the music is incredible. Also, there's an endless amount of different weapons, armor sets, spells and items for unique builds.Lastly, the bosses - particularly the Demigods - are some of the most spectacular and challenging bosses I've ever seen in a videogame.Pros:+ Huge map filled with content+ Engaging & rewarding exploration+ Wonderful level design+ Fun & diverse gameplay with accessible mechanics+ Amazing visuals and music+ Impressive bossesCons:- Re-used content in some instances- Flawed cameraGameplay: 9/10Content: 10/10Music: 10/10Graphics/Audio: 9/10Final Rating: 10/10- Masterpiece -Elden Ring is the culmination and evolution of everything FromSoftware has done in the past 13 years, making it the ultimate Souls game yet. With Elden Ring, the developers at FromSoftware have outdone themselves and managed to deliver their best work to date... and one of the best videogames I've ever **** I recommend it?:Elden Ring is a must-play, especially if you're a fan of Open World games.

DOOM Eternal8
Mar 5, 2022
It's been a while since I played an Action FPS game before, so playing DOOM Eternal felt refreshing.
Being my first DOOM game, DOOM Eternal was a complicated but interesting experience.
While the story is trying to take itself seriously and it really doesn't work, it's not an important part of the game anyway.
The gameplay is where DOOM Eternal truly shines; it's extremely smooth, running at 60 fps even on consoles, it's fast-paced and very diverse, from the wide variety of weapons to the resource management. It gets a bit frustrating at times but once you understand how everything works, it plays like a dream and it's undoubtedly one of the highlights of the game.
Another highlight of the game is the music; it feels like it's part of the gameplay, and it's awesome!
Also, the graphics and the audio design are amazing too.
Despite being a solid FPS game though, DOOM Eternal features platforming elements, however, they're not executed well; there's too much unnecessary platforming. Pros:
+ Exciting, fluid & challenging gameplay
+ Fantastic music
+ Beautiful visuals Cons:
- Very weak narrative
- Excessive amount of platforming Narrative: 1/10
Gameplay: 10/10
Content: ?/10
Music: 9/10

I remember playing Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance when I was younger but I wasn't good at it and I couldn't play it properly.
Few years later, after hearing about all the ridiculous memes on the internet, I was interested in giving it another try, however, I felt like the game lived off from its memes and not because it's actually a good game.
After playing it though, I can definitely say that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a really enjoyable Hack 'n' Slash game! The camera is awkward at times but the combat system is very fun and it has some cool mechanics.
The highlight of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance isn't the gameplay though, it's the bosses; they're just epic!
Also, the music is awesome and the visuals hold up well, even though the environments look uninteresting for the most part.
Unfortunately, the narrative is not on par with the rest of the game in my opinion. Thankfully, the characters are likable and the dialogue is funny at times, but the story is quite bad overall and very short; it could've been longer. Pros:
+ Great gameplay
+ Interesting mechanics
+ Amazing bosses
+ Fantastic music
+ Charming characters Cons:
- Camera issues
- Bland environments
- Weak & short story Narrative: 3/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Characters: 6/10
Music: 9/10
Graphics/Audio: 6/10 Final Rating: 8/10

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a very enjoyable Hack 'n' Slash game that aged well. Do I recommend it?:

Resident Evil 29
Feb 3, 2022
Even though I found Resident Evil Village to be a heavily flawed game, I was actually quite interested in playing more Resident Evil games. Unfortunately, Resident Evil 7: biohazard's strong emphasis on horror didn't interest me at all, so I decided to play Resident Evil 2.
Anyway, so, I wasn't expecting a good story from Resident Evil 2 and I didn't really get a good story; it's not bad, in fact, it managed to surprise me at times but it's just not necessarily good either. It's definitely not an important part of the game though, so it didn't affect my thoughts on the game overall.
The characters are decent; Claire is great, Leon is cool, Ada is fine and the side-characters are okay, even if most of them are not memorable.
The gameplay is amazing though! There's a wide variety of weapons & items, the shooting mechanics feel extremely satisfying and the survival horror elements are wonderful.
The atmosphere and the representation are perfect, and they're accompanied by breathtaking graphics, outstanding audio and absolutely incredible level design. These are some of the most important parts in a survival horror game for me and Resident Evil 2 excels in every single one of them.
Also, the boss fights are surprisingly exciting and interesting, albeit not very well designed for the most part.
I feel like the only serious complaint I have about the game is how the second run feels very similar to the first run and its implementation messes up the story and the backtracking in some instances, unfortunately. Pros:
+ Addictive gameplay
+ Superb atmosphere & audio
+ Gorgeous visuals
+ Awesome level design Cons:
- The addition of the second run isn't executed very well Narrative: 4/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Content: ?/10

Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition9
Jan 10, 2022
Some years ago, I rented Dark Souls III and I played it for few hours but I wasn't good at it and I never got into the series.
After playing Bloodborne, I decided to play Dark Souls III again... but I played it properly this time.
As a Souls game, Dark Souls III tells its interesting story and lore via environmental storytelling, which is a fascinating way to tell a story.
The gameplay is slower than in Bloodborne and it feels a bit stiff but it's varied and enjoyable nonetheless.
The bosses in the first half of the game are kinda lacking but the bosses in the second half of the game really make up for it.
Also, the music is wonderful and the graphics are nice.
As for the DLCs, Ashes of Ariandel is extremely short but the mandatory boss is fantastic.
The Ringed City lasts longer, it has few more bosses and an epic conclusion.
Overall, the DLCs are actually very good!
Unfortunately, just like in Bloodborne, the camera is awkward at times.
However, unlike in Bloodborne, the level design is very linear in Dark Souls III and there is a surprising amount of irritating areas.
Aside from the flawed camera, the linear level design and the bothersome areas, another thing that I didn't like is the kick mechanic; it's completely unnecessary and easy to perform by accident. Pros:
+ Rich lore
+ Fun & diverse gameplay
+ Challenging & epic bosses
+ Incredible music
+ Great DLCs Cons:
- Awkward camera in some instances
- Linear level design and many annoying areas
- Kick mechanic Gameplay: 7/10
Content: 9/10
Music: 10/10
Graphics/Audio: 8/10 Final Rating: 9/10
- Amazing -
Dark Souls III is a very exhilarating, challenging and rewarding experience, and a fitting conclusion to the Age of Fire.
The only Souls games I've played so far are Dark Souls III and Bloodborne, and I gotta say, Dark Souls III is significantly more difficult than Bloodborne for me, especially with its DLCs. Do I recommend it?:
I'd highly recommend it to the fans of the series/genre.
It's also a great game for newcomers, even if it's difficult.

Definitely, but keep in mind, the DLC is must-own in my opinion.

Apex Legends8

I've never been fan of this genre; I've only played Fortnite for half an hour and I got bored. I've heard very positive things about Apex Legends though and I decided to give it a try.
In my opinion, Apex Legends isn't just a significantly better game than Fortnite, but it's genuinely a really good game overall. I am quite decent at this game and it is a lot of fun!
The gameplay is amazing despite not being anything special, and it feels very smooth.
The characters are different from each other, some characters can act as support and tank while others are offensive.
The graphics are good and the audio is great.
Also, game focuses a lot on teamplay with some unique mechanics and items for communication; you can even revive your teammates when they die. Teamplay can get a bit frustrating at times, but it's fantastic when it works.
What about the flaws? Well, first of all, there isn't enough content, and secondly, the monetization is a little bit messed up; there are few microtransactions but quite too expensive. Pros:
+ Fun and smooth gameplay
+ Diverse characters
+ Focuses a lot on teamplay
+ Nice visuals Cons:
- Not enough content
- Monetization Gameplay: 9/10
Content: ?/10
Graphics/Audio: 8/10 Final Rating: 8/10
- Great -
Apex Legends is a great game, even though it's lacking content. Do I recommend it?:
Yes, it's worth a try and it's for free.

Kingdom Hearts III8

Before diving to the heart (pun intended) of my review, I think it's worth mentioning that Kingdom Hearts III is not a sequel to Kingdom Hearts II, but it's the conclusion of the entire series, including the spin-offs.
Fortunately for newcomers like me, Kingdom Hearts III does re-cap parts of the story from the previous Kingdom Hearts games in different ways, making Kingdom Hearts III's story easier to follow. However, just like in the previous Kingdom Hearts games, Kingdom Hearts III's story is convoluted and the writing is weak for the most part... but I didn't hate it, even though some cutscenes are overly long and the pacing has issues.
The gameplay is great though despite being very easy, and it's extremely diverse; there are so many different things to do, it's actually impressive.
The characters - including the Disney characters - are pretty good too.
The visuals are stunning and the music is really good.
Also, the Disney worlds represented in Kingdom Hearts III are the highlight of the game by far; they're absolutely wonderful!
The new outfits, Keyblades and U.I. changes are cool as well.
Now, I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion, but honestly, I don't like how some Disney characters are major party members in this game because it ruins the immersion for me; I'd prefer if all of the Disney characters in this game were side-characters in different Disney worlds, but it's not a big deal at all. Pros:
+ Intriguing premise
+ Charming characters
+ Exciting gameplay
+ Impressive Disney worlds
+ Gorgeous visuals and music Cons:
- Poor writing
- Long cutscenes & pacing issues
- Too easy Narrative: 4/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Content: 7/10
Characters: 7/10
Music: 8/10
Art Style: 10/10 Final Rating: 8/10
- Great -
Despite its fair amount of flaws, Kingdom Hearts III made me feel like a kid again at times and that's one of the sweetest compliments I can give to a videogame. Do I recommend it?:
For newcomers, I'd recommend reading a summary of the stories in the previous Kingdom Hearts games or play Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far before playing Kingdom Hearts III.
Fans of the series must play this game.
