Gearbox has a problem: the fantastic Borderlands 2 is too good to be beaten. But in the case of Borderlands 3, it is still more than a worthy successor. The filmmakers brought many pop-cultural references, maybe pushing too hard on how they want to be “modern”, but otherwise it's a great game again. [Issue#298]

Borderlands 3 offers a generous experience, with colourful characters, neat gameplay and a charming universe. Its formula, very close to that of the previous episodes does not revolutionize the show but its small new features bring a little freshness and the scenario makes us want to go to the end of the adventure. Its dynamism and nervousness make it a choice piece for adrenaline-ready FPS lovers and license fans.

The fun, humorous storyline, some great dialogue and theatrical accents of the diverse characters, beautifully varied locations and the same great gunplay that Borderlands is renowned for, means that Borderlands 3 becomes another must have title in the series.

The third entry into the mainline borderlands series offers its flashiest and smoothest gunplay yet with a variety of fun builds and abilities that still feel fun to use throughout the game's runtime. I played this game in a group of three and while we did find the game ludicrously easy, it was still funny to run around cracking jokes and making each other laugh while easily mowing through hoards of enemies at a brisk pace. Many people will harshly criticize the plot and writing of this game as being cringey and boring. While the plot is certainly sub-par and not really engaging, the writing has ALWAYS been cringey since Borderlands 2! This is my "I feel like I'm taking crazy pills" moment. Are we really going to pretend that the dialogue offered by Handsome Jack, Ellie, and Claptrap wasn't extremely cringey? Like when Handsome Jack says something to the effect of "I bought a diamond covered horse and I'm going to name him Butt Stallion XD" LOLOL that's so funny. As far as the villains go, I agree with most criticisms there. The thing about livestreamers is that they're hated because they are annoying. Not because they are evil or immoral (generally). So when you make your main villains a pair of livestreamers they come across as... annoying. Not compelling. It seems that Borderlands 1 will be forever my favorite in the series as the popularity of Borderlands 2 made that style of writing propogate throughout the series as a main component. One can hardly blame Borderlands 3 for carrying the torch that Borderlands 2 left it.

Borderlands 3 has surpassed the bar that its predecessor had set. The story is grand in scale, the humor is on-point and updated to 2019, weapons are diverse and the new Vault Hunters are unique in every way. Every BL-fan must pick this game up.

Game is the most fun polished gameplay experience in the entire series. ignore all of the BL2 elitists who can't get over the fact that the games are different. Yes the writing is not great but who plays BL for the writing/stories? These are not the games to play for storytelling

Secondo me è un ottimo gioco ed è molto valorizzato grazie a questa grafica che lo rende spettacolare

It didn't need to reinvent the wheel either; as Gearbox pretty much had the formula figured out the second time around.

Borderlands 3 isn’t a franchise altering game, but it does manage to combine great gunplay, an expansive world, and stellar co-op into a great overall package.

Its main villain duo can't hold a candle to the greatness that was Handsome Jack, its humour is rather lacking compared to the series' previous instalments, and it is not without its technical issues at launch. Gameplay-wise, however, Borderlands 3 is definitely the best we've seen from the series until now.

A solid FPS with hack-and-slash mechanics that are just as strong, Borderlands 3 is a devilishly effective game, one ideally enjoyed with friends. Its four distinct character classes and consistent content are both arguments for this third canonical episode being a highly recommendable title. However, the experience is ruined by the many bugs, glitches and other wild issues that currently plague the game, although an inevitable first patch should ease all that. Finally, the overabundance of 'fart jokes' makes the game's endless conversations even more painful, even if a few quest threads make up for it.

Gearbox is at their best when they’re engineering the act of shooting something. If their game would just shut up and let the gleeful gunplay speak for itself, Borderlands would go a lot further. Instead, the gunplay is clogged up with meaningless loot, smugly unfunny jokes, and lots of using the same ol’ gun while waiting for the parsimonious skill point drip to finally drop. Where’s the glee in all that?

Polecam

I really like this game. I get **** in to the Borderlands world. Even the side missions are mostly good. I would gladly give this game a rating of 9. If it wasn't for that I can't save when I want to.

The game is boring as hell, they messed up with the comic like cartoony art-style of the game that the former one's had, the story is bland as hell and at times kinda dumb, hella weapons but only like 3 are useful during the game, dialogue is stupid and not funny at all (they were trying wayyyy to hard here).
Love the Borderlands 1 and 2 but this one is ass.

I'm a true borderlands fan. Ever since I saw the beta footage of bl1 I knew I was interested. Borderlands 1/2 is amazing. One having some of the best weapons, ie tourge x4 anarchy smgs, s&s munitions shotguns, x8 eridian weapons. 2 in best terms of story and gameplay. Then 3 came along and its like they forget what made bl1/2 great and just added things that weren't necessary ie sliding. A story that just seems to drag on with over the top antagonists. Vault hunters that seem bland with a 4th skill tree though the 4th skill tree wasn't needed. Weapons that felt lacking in personality compared to bl1/2 weapons. Somehow the graphics seemed worse. The fact they changed the term loot midgets to tinks, says alot about woke culture. I can assure you no one found the term loot midget offensive.
Bl3 was way to easy aswell. With the removal of ultimate vault hunter mode with no op levels. When borderlands 2 had that in it gave the game a new layer of a challenge and increased gameplay.
If bl4 is anything remotely like bl3 then gearbox havegot no one to blame but themselves. I'm just hoping that gearbox have learned their lesson and that bl4 is more like bl1/2
