Sonic CD8
Sep 21, 2014
Sonic CD is Sonic's third game, and it was released in 1993. And it is a game that is very divided in the fanbase, some people love it and believe it's the best game in the series, while others believe that it's a badly made mess. I am personally in the middle, I got enjoyment out of the original version of Sonic CD, despite the bad collision detection and choppy special stages, but this remake however is much better than the original. The gameplay differs slightly from traditional Sonic titles, while Sonic himself has not seen any major changes, he controls the same as Sonic 2 with the two exceptions, first being the super peel-out, which is basically the spin-dash, which he also has, but is butchered compared to Sonic 2. The level design however, compared to most titles are very large vertically. And you are encouraged to search for the robot generators. To find them you have to make use of the games time traveling feature, by running through sign posts and gaining enough speed, you can travel between the past, present and future, the only time period you should go to is the past, that is, if you are going for the robot generators in every level. If you're not interested in that you can also go after the time stones, by collecting 50 rings and getting to the end of the level, you can get a time stone. If you get them all, you automaticly get a good future. Now to talk about what this remake fixes, first of the game runs on a new engine, which runs the game at 60 fps at all times, and fixes many of the technical issues that the original game had. Graphically this game is much more appealing to the eye than the first two game, thanks to the sega CD's more powerful hardware. We are also given two animated cutscenes, animated by Toei Animation, which are very nicely animated. The Japanese soundtrack is fantastic, it's catchy, and and incredibly memorable. It is in my opinion, the highly superior soundtrack, as I never really had an attachment to the American soundtrack in all honesty. Not to say that they're are not good tracks in it, There is just not many that stand out to me. Overall, I find that this remake has made me like Sonic CD alot more than I did before, thanks to the better engine. The game also on top of that is still keeps everything that was good about the original and more. The graphics still look as great as they did before, but include settings to make things smoother, the remake also includes the Japanese soundtrack, but it also includes the American soundtrack for those who like it more, It also includes a setting to change the spindash from the original Sonic CD one and the one from Sonic 2. Which I like. I highly recommend this remake. Overall - 8/10

Professor Layton and the Curious Village4
Aug 15, 2014
I really don't understand the love that this game gets whatsoever. The story is not interesting in the slightest. Which is one of the most important parts about the game. First off, it takes forever to start the quest that the main characters came to the village for. As the game drags it out with things such as finding cats. It's bothersome. I don't find the characters in the village memorable in the slightest, I find them very boring. To be honest the only reason I sat through was becuase I enjoyed the Phoenix Wright Vs. Layton game that released earlier this year. I enjoyed the puzzles in that game. But in this game I cannot stand the puzzles. Some of them are really tedious and bothersome. Graphicly the game is alright. The characters are decently animated and drawn and the backgrounds look nice. The animated cutscenes by japanese animation studio P.A Works, look decent enough. Though they have some very obvious and distracting looking 3D CGI in them. The games soundtrack is for the most part, in my opinion. Quite forgetable. With the only track I personally liked being the games main theme. The voice acting, on the other hand is pretty well done. Though I will say I can't stand Luke's actress in the american release of the game. Thankfully, I have the british release. in which Luke has pretty well done voice work. Overall, I don't understand how people like this game. With a uninteresting story with forgetable characters, some very tedious puzzles and for the most part a forgetable sountrack. I did not enjoy this game. OVERALL - 4/10

Paper Mario: Sticker Star2
Feb 4, 2014
This is one of the most boring, uninteresting, and disappointing "video game" I have ever played in my life. The games first downfall is it's story and writing. it's the typical Mario story. "Bowser is evil, go stop him". No other Paper Mario before has such a lazy story. And the writing is not even funny. Unlike the previous games. The graphics are the only good part about this game. the paper world looks fantastic and the 3D effect does a great job of making the world pop out. The game-play is boring and has zero strategy. there is no point in fighting enemy's as you cannot level up. All the bosses can be defeated in one hit with the right stickers. And the game is overall just a chore to play. OVERALL- 2/10

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney9
Jan 30, 2014
The original Phoenix Wright trilogy is amazing. And the original is the second best out of the trilogy. It's better that Phoenix Wright : Ace Attorney justice for all, but is not as good as Phoenix Wright : Ace Attorney Trials and tribulations. The story is the the most important part of any Ace Attorney title, and the story in this game is fantastic. All the main characters are interesting. Especially Miles Edgeworth. All the witnesses are fun and quirky in there own unique ways. And the names for the characters are are really amusing, some examples being "Frank Sahwit" the witness in case one. and "Winston Payne" the prosecutor in case one. The graphics are nothing technically impressive, most likely due to the fact this game is a port of a Japanese GBA title called "Gyakuten Saiban". But the sprites and actions for some of the witnesses are quirky and amusing. The soundtrack is fantastic. Almost every track in this game is memorable and really nice to listen to. The sound effect consist of beeps for the most part and are nothing noteworthy. And the voice clips for the defense and prosecution do there jobs well enough. Overall it is a fantastic game. And considering the original trilogy is on most platforms nowadays, (DS, Wii-ware, IOS, and soon coming to the 3DS) there is not much of a reason to pass the games up. As it has amazing writing and characters, and amazing music. OVERALL - 9/10

Sonic the Hedgehog0
Jan 19, 2014
A god awful and down right offensive port **** game. It's glitchy, laggy, It sounds and sounds horrible. The story is exactly the same as sonic 1, so I do not have any problems here. The gameplay is awful, when you start up the game you have two options, Original and Anniversary, the only difference between the two is that in anniversary mode you have a spin dash. Which works I guess. But the levels in Sonic 1 were not design with the spin dash in mind, so I find it to be a pointless addition. The game itself is too zoomed in, the screen focuses to much on sonic. The game also lags like crazy. even when nothing is happening on screen, it will just slow down. The game is also glitchy, you die from standing on platforms occasionally. And the collision detection is wonky as all hell. and that is only a small portion of the glitches you will run into. The graphics, if you are looking at a still frame. Look fine, but as soon as you see it moving it really unpleasant, due to the slowdown. The music is horrid, and it is not the GBA's fault, Sonic Advance showed us that the GBA could have good remixes of Sonic 1 tracks. So what the hell happened here? Overall this is the worst version of sonic 1 you could possibly play, if you want sonic 1 with the spindash go get a rom hack off of sonic retro. or if you want to be official, buy the Sonic Jam compilation on the Sega Saturn. Don't play this version. OVERALL- 0/10

Sonic Rush8
Jan 19, 2014
Sonic Rush is a great Sonic title by Dimps, It's great fun to go blasting though the levels while boosting, and it is a fun challenge to see how far you can go without running out of boost energy. The only problem I have with the gameplay is how Sonic and Blaze's play exactly the same and how their zones are exactly the same just in a different order. The story is basically the typical Sonic story. Dr. Eggman is evil. Go stop him. Nothing really worth talking about. Graphically the game is great. With the very nice looking 2D backgrounds and stages. Sonic and Blaze's 3D models are decent as well. The bosses, which are also 3D models, are also passable. The soundtrack is phenomenal. Done by Hideki Naganuma, famous for his work on Jet Set Radio. He brings a soundtrack that is very different from any other soundtrack in the series. Which no game in the series has been able to replicate. The soundtrack is made up of most made up of techno and it sounds amazing. It's very up-beat and catchy. Sound Effects are nothing special. And the voice clips work well enough. Overall a great entry into the Sonic franchise, with it's fun gameplay, great graphics, and phenomenal soundtrack. I recommend it to anyone. OVERALL- 8/10

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies9
Jan 18, 2014
Ace Attorney Dual Destinies is the 5th game in the main Ace Attorney series. And the sequel to Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice. But this game blows Apollo Justice out of the water. It has a fantastic story with brilliant writing, and a fantastic cast of characters. And this title is just as funny as any other game in the series, with it's pop culture references and references to other games in the series. The graphics are some other the best on the 3DS, The original 2D sprites look great with the 3D overhaul and I honestly believe it looks better that the sprites. The characters have just as much charm as the characters in the original trilogy on DS. And the anime cutscenes by BONES, are really well animated and look really nice. The orchestrated soundtrack is just as good as the other games in the series, it's catchy, memorable, and incredibly epic. And even though it is not my favorite soundtrack in the series, that would be Ace Attorney Investigations 2's, it still worthy of being an Ace Attorney soundtrack. The voice acting is typical CAPCOM voice acting, by that I mean it is hilariously cheesy. And it can occasionally be on par with Mega man X4 in terms of cheesiness. Overall, a fantastic game, and even though series creator Shu Takumi didn't work on this installment in the series. It still manages to capture the same charm that the original trilogy had. The only problem the game really has is it's many, many spelling errors, but it is not something that ruins the game. The game is worth it's £19.99 price tag on the 3DS Eshop. OVERALL - 9/10

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II2
Dec 16, 2013
I really, really despise this game. It takes Sonic 4 episode 1, a okay game, and completely ruins it. Most levels are completely automated with boost pads and springs, the music is god awful, and the overall level design just ****. Apart from Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic and the Secret Rings, this is the only Sonic title I have never went out of my way to complete. Episode 1 is 100x better than this game.

Sonic Advance8
Dec 15, 2013
I find it weird how DIMPS could pull of classic Sonic style physics on the GBA with the Sonic Advance trilogy and on the Neo Geo Pocket Colour with Sonic Pocket Adventure, but can't get it right with Sonic 4, anyway. Sonic Advance is a fantastic game, and in my opinion, the real Sonic 4, it has classic Sonic style physics, multiple characters that play similarly with their own unique abilities, a fantastic soundtrack, great graphics, and overall fun gameplay, all of which, for the most part, Sonic 4 lacks. I recommend both Sonic Advance and Sonic Pocket Adventure if you have both a GBA and a Neo Geo Pocket Colour.

Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness2
Dec 6, 2013
this game not counting Tomb Raider 2013 was Lara's most ambitious game ever. but just like Sonic the hedgehogs first leap onto the next generation of consoles (Sonic 06), it did not pay of as it almost killed the franchise. The story is not as amazing as other people make it out to be. Lara is nasty to everyone she talks to, even when they are trying to help her. The story is **** plot of the game involves Lara needing to find out if she killed her mentor or not. Well of course she didn't. It is very predictable from the very beginning. The game looks great for an early PS2 title though, and it even puts more detail into character animations and environments than games later in the series. and the soundtrack is absolutely incredible. one of my favorite video game soundtracks of all time. The gameplay though is absolutely horrendous. Lara's control is really awkward and horrid. The game is littered with bugs and the stealth mechanic, while it works surprisingly, is absolutely useless due to the games hilariously bad enemy AI, some examples of how stupid they are include, running into walls, running in the opposite direction of Lara, and not doing anything even when Lara is standing right in front of them. And I will also add that there is only one tomb in the entire game, yeah, only one tomb, the rest of the game takes place in Paris. Overall a horrible game that almost killed the series. Thankfully Crystal Dynamics took over as they have created in my opinion the three best games in the franchise, Tomb raider Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld. You Should not waste your time with this disaster. Play the other games in the series, they are all better video games. (Well....... except Tomb Raider III)

Sonic Adventure 26
Nov 3, 2013
This game is the most OVERRATED Sonic title ever, this is considered as the not only the best 3D sonic title, but the best game in the franchise by most fans, but I... Just don't get it, The level design is really cheap, the story ****, and the treasure hunting and shooting stages from SA1 have been seriously butchered, the shooting stages control is bloody horrendous, and the treasure hunting stages are way, WAY, to big. The only things worth playing in this game is the Sonic and Shadow stages, Which were great for the most part due to the great control and level design, but they were done better in SA1, overall it's still a decent game, but SA1 is much better.

The best out of the Sonic Rush styled handheld Sonic titles, Better than rush, and 10 times better than both Rush Adventure and Generations 3DS, the sonic colors soundtrack was remixed in this version for some reason, but it's enjoyable, and most importantly, the game is a blast to play, no stupid gimmicks like in Rush Adventure. The wisps in this version play like there console counterparts, with the exception with two wisps that are exclusive to this version Overall this is fantastic, I recommend it.

Sep 21, 2013
This game is... okay. It has it's strong points such as it's gorgeous visuals (and it's still the best looking DBZ game ever released to me!) and great soundtrack, but to me, the gameplay feels much more slow and clunky compared to Dimps last DBZ game Budokai 3. And this game does not have aas much to offer, for example, Budokai 3 went through every DBZ saga and also covered a bit of DBGT (Which to me is not a good thing!) and had a pretty big character roster. This game only goes up to the end of the Cell saga and has a much smaller character roster. Overall it's okay, it can be fun at times but it does not compare to Budokai 3.

Tomb Raider5
Sep 15, 2013
BLEH. This game is nothing but a Uncharted clone, all you do throughout the game is shoot people, yo know, that thing TOMB RAIDER HAS NEVER BEEN ABOUT. Every Tomb Raider game before this one was all about the platforming challenges. Sure some games had more more combat than others, but in every other Tomb Raider game the platforming is the most important aspect. There is little to no platforming in this game. Whenever there is it is incredibly bland and uninteresting. Also this game is filled to the brim with scripted events.Which may look cool the first time you play the game, but if you play through the game multiple times they get very annoying. Graphically it looks pretty, But the character models to look rather jaggy and look like there was not as much effort put into them as the environments. Which look great. The soundtrack is nothing memorable. unlike previous titles which often had awesome soundtracks. The story is okay, but none of the characters, excluding Lara, have any character development and are really uninteresting. This games biggest problem is it's length and difficulty, this game is pathetically short and pathetically easy, It took me a day to finish this game the first time I played it. Overall this game is... Decent, nothing special. Recommend it to fans of Uncharted,Tomb Raider fans, and casual gamers.

What a disappointment, while the HD version looked like it had tons of effort put into it, this is just completely lazy. Level designs that often consist you running in a straight line, unimpressive visuals, and really uninteresting gameplay, You have modern sonic and classic sonic, but the problem is there both 2D, so there basically the same except one has the boost and the other has a spin dash, don't waste your money on this version, buy the PC/360/PS3 version

Even though I prefer Sonic Colors, I can't deny this game is incredible, the gameplay is as great as sonic colors, though noticeably glitchier, not to the level of Sonic 06, but it's still noticeable. Though the story and writing is really, REALLY, weak compared to Sonic Colors, and the soundtrack, while it's still great. Does not even COMPARE to the masterpiece of a soundtrack sonic colors had. Otherwise it's a great experience, Fun gameplay, great graphics, and music.

While this game is a MASSIVE improvement over it's predecessor, there is really no reason to play this game since we have its sequel, Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3, Which is overall a much better game. there is no reason to come back to this game. At least the original had a story mode that is worth playing through. This game really has nothing special to offer. And that was most likely why it was not in the Budokai HD Collection. Absolute waste of money. It's a SNES game on the Wii. Why would I pay £30 on a game that I could get for £5, they don't include anything new in the game, hell, they don't even give you Super Mario All Stars Mario World, it's just the original version of Super Mario All Stars. Don't recommend it at all. You could buy a Super Nintendo and Mario All Stars cheaper than this terrible Wii port.

NiGHTS into Dreams... (2012)9
Jul 23, 2013
The XBOX Live port of NiGHTS into Dreams is actually a port of the remake for PS2 that was only released in japan... for some reason. But now that they finally ported the game to Xbox Live I have been able to play the game for the first time, and it is fantastic, the updated graphics from the PS2 remake already looked amazing but now look even better in HD. The original Saturn version included in the game still looks surprisingly nice considering it came out in 1996. The soundtrack is incredible, the control is tight and responsive, and the game is just such a blast to play. I recommend it to everyone.

Don't play this game. Not even if you are a sonic fan. The story is stupid, The graphics and sound are terrible the good, neutral, and evil pathways are filled with plotholes and contradictions. Sonic 06 is better than this. And that's sad.

Sonic Heroes8

Sonic's first original game not on a SEGA console. And it was a great start. The story is no where near as complex as in Sonic Adventure 1 or Sonic Adventure 2. But to me that is the way it should be. Sonic games don't need big plots. The gameplay is similar to SA1&2 but with a new team gimmick. And it works well. The control though is noticeably worse than SA1&2 it's really slippery. But the level design is really good in alot of places like grand metropolis. Sonic Heroes is a gorgeous looking GameCube game. It's really looks like a 2D sonic game brought into the 3D world. For example the checkerboard walls in Seaside hill. The soundtracks is great. Sonic Heroes in my opinion is better than SA1. And much better than SA2. I recommend it to anyone who likes platformers

Defiantly the worst out of the sonic riders games by a mile. The game is completely broken. You basically can not control your character. Though the thing people complain about the most, The menus. Are the only thing i can get to work. Odd. The graphics and sound are nothing special. If you are going to play a sonic riders game play zero gravity. Avoid this game like it's the plaque. Unlike games like Big Rigs which are so bad they are fun. Playing this game is torture

Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity8

A far better game than the original. The Wii controls don't take that long to get used to. I actually have fun using the Wii remote to play the game. Its very surprising. The graphics are good. But defiantly no where near as good as games like sonic colours and super mario galaxy. The music is good. Nothing special though. If people would give this game a chance they could find it fun. Same with the original. Just don't go anywhere near sonic free riders and you will be safe

New Super Mario Bros. 23

All Mario/Luigi games on the 3DS have ranged from average to just bad. This game is in the bad section. The new Mario games are turning into COD. a new game coming out every year. In fact, It is even worse at this point. New Mario 2 and New Mario u came out the exact same year. Anyway. The game is bad. Its ugly, the level design is pathetic. The music is rehashed with even more wahs and bahs. Level designs are cliche. Don't play this game. Don't give Nintendo your money
