MIO: Memories in Orbit6

Ultra-frustrating platforming ruins what could be a special Metroidvania. About a third through the game the platforming gets insanely frustrating. You need to hit everything while jumping with very limited "energy", and it has to be the most unintuitive platforming I've ever played in a Metroidvania. 100 percented Silksong but controls and smoothness in that are a completely different level. The level design and art design are great but the gameplay is just too frustrating to continue, even with the ground healing assist.

Playing on the Ps5 Pro, and just cant recommend this on console. They patched it CAPPED at 1080p on the PRO, and the game constantly stutters with AWFUL screen tearing. I get this is a small developer, but **** is not ready for consoles, dont release it. The game itself is incredible sadly, but its just not ready. Why release a patch CAPPING it at 1080p with WORSE performance on the PRO? before it ran fine at 4k/30 FPS, barring the crashing. Game is complete mess on Consoles, clearly the dev team doesnt care about the console market.

Way too many mini-games tied to so many quests. I dont mind minigames when they're isolated from sidequests or mainquests- something you know you're going to do before you do it, but this game literally has over half of all sidequests, often with story elements and good gear, tied to some annoying, frustrating mini game. Why not do it like the Yakuza games where you KNOW when you're doing a mini game or not? Most of the combat revolves around fighting in the open world, few side quests, and main quests, and over half are some nonsense gimmicky mini game. Other than that the combat itself is better, the bond quests are great (save the forced mini games), and the story is pretty good. Performance mode needs to be cleaned up as well. Overall a bit disappointing.

Really fantastic JRPG. I've played Berseria and Symphonia before and enjoyed those games, but not enough to finish them because the combat never really clicked. This game however the combat is addicting and so fluid. I was a bit skeptical because the demo just throws too much at you but the regular game introduces the mechanics slowly and it helps to get well acclimated. Story starts out pretty cliche (hero with no memory, etc..) but is well paced and once you acquire more characters and explore the different realms, it gets very interesting, its awesome to see what comes next. Overall easily the best JRPG I've played since FF7 remake.

Decent at times, overrated, and frustrating combat. The game can be a lot of fun, picking up things telepathically and dodging in mid air can feel great. The story is mysterious, albeit nonsensical (thats the point though), and does push you forward well. The biggest pro and con for this game is the combat though. It can feel incredibly well done sometimes, but it can get extremely annoying. Healing is a pain, because you have to run around like a headless chicken while rockets are coming from EVERYWHERE- and them BAM, you're dead. You get sent all the way back to the checkpoint and it gets very tedious. Honestly the game is too challenging for this type of genre and I had a harder time with it then Dark Souls. Very annoying not knowing where multiple rockets are constantly bombarding you from. And while the effects, lighting and art are excellent, especially the physics, the game picture wise looks like poop on a Pro on a 4K tv. You can really tell the developer only put time into the PC version and neglected the consoles. Frame rate stays consistent for the most part, but 1080p/30 is unacceptable for a "premium" console. Badly optimized. Obviously this is all subjective, but I would wait until its around $20, maybe get it now if you have a beast PC if its like $40 on PC.
