Not the worst RE game, there is still 3 or 4 ahead of this one, but this game was rushed and boring as ****. Reason it's a 7 is because everything is smoother and more updated so they basically sugar coated how bad this story was and how boring nemesis boss fights were. Dude seriously, why would we want 5 **** phases over and over, that's essentially the whole story, there's barely any room between fights.
Just when I though RE couldn't get any better and more interesting, they bring back everyone and wrap it all up for basically phase 2/3 or phase 6 for nemesis and other bosses. Everything from beginning to end is memorable, which is rare in today's gaming market, haven't played a game like that in a few years. Also, if you think that Village, Biohazard, 2, or 4 is the best RE, then you would be mistaken, it's this one right here.
Top 3 best RE games, this one was just glorious. Everything was done right and they added lore to the story that didn't seem forced or rushed. The combat was so much better not only because it was modernized but because they added smoother movements for controller.
Fantastic execution. The story was better and even more smooth than the OG. The characters were more life like and exciting to see in a new light. This is by far top 4 Best RE Games.
After getting through a good chunk, the game is the primo definition of a six. Story is bland but makes sense, just doesn't have depth, the combat is super typical for a 3rd person shooter, and the game even has the typical " there doing government experiments" *insert weird name for bioweapon here* plot line. The game is fun and at the end of the day since the game doesn't excel at anything, well at least it has that going for it. Don't play this game unless you want nostalgia, a time waster, or just want to play a retro game (can't believe the PS3/360 are considered retro now, wtf).
Game's solid, gamers are still proving my theory of nothing can be good enough for them. Combat, gameplay, enemies, and story are all just awesome. The world is unique and memorable. The thing that this game takes a hit on is that it can be very buggy if you're playing the game at a faster pace every now and then. Had one or two crashes in the beginning but if you allow it to load at the checkpoints, not a big deal.
Fun, decent gunplay and mechanics, but besides the 5 minutes of lore explaining the basis of the world it gets boring after so many matches. The guns and combat are the thing that really give this game the rating, these factors carry the game.
If you want something that's the definition of a solid 7 its this game. Super action packed, corny in the right areas, but story is basic/not too deep, and is like most action based Asian movies.
Dude either I'm lucky with getting unscaved by bugs or gamers expect and demand waaayyy too much now a days. Devs and gaming companies are putting out lack luster, unfinished, unpassionate games but my god is gamer entitlement high. This game improves upon and increases the value of the series from the first game. It's fun, the humor is still there, and the story is great. Gamer's sometimes you're in the wrong.
While I havne't completed this game yet because im stuck on a part in the middle of fall chapter, this side scroller is a beautiful work of art and silent story telling.
IM SO GLAD THIS WAS ON PS+ THIS MONTH. Otherwise, I would've never even known this existed or picked it up. The game is a copy/paste Ubisoft outline through and through. The combat is slow but mimics most action/adventure medieval games and the story is dull. The characters are lifeless and not only that the characters feel like DEI forced models that the devs were held at gunpoint to make, man they funky. The things that hold this game or increase the "value" of this game is the combat and fighting can be fun, the mana or magic is a useful tool, its dull but useful, and the game just plays it safe by holding onto the outline for a Ubisoft model or style of game. Also, the game isn't open world so that's a huge plus for this style of game. Seriously **** one needed to make another medieval/action game like **** no one.
While I usually like narratives and have a soft spot for them, This one was average. Not only was it average the protagonist was extremely dull and seemed like thee dev didn't really focus on the writing that much with her. she was more of a median for the writing which is a cool idea. Overall, this game was a finished game but the depth was more focused on the environmental story telling rather than the protag, which is fine just unorthodox. While the game did have depth it basically was short lived and was mainly one area of the game. The length of the game was great, the characters, and story telling were amazing but for a narrative the lack of depth in the main character was off putting.
Not terrible but this game feels woke but isn't, yes I know miles morales is in the comics. Feels like the character is always in peters shadow and trying to impress or be him. The game is short for a spider man but that's a good thing after playing through a story that portrays itself as a cool hip inner-city/ token black kid to make it seem like he's likable. Never liked miles just seem way to unrealistically happy, and it doesn't fit every aspect of the game, gotta keep it real sometimes.
I liked this game more than the second because it stuck to peter parker. If I wanted to play morales ill play spider man miles morales. Otherwise it sticks to its guns; story, gameplay, and being able to chill out and swing.
A welcome improvement over little nightmare 3. The devs lost the plot by playing it safe with that game but reanimal is what should've been that game. The atmosphere is back, the gameplay, and most importantly the environmental story is back to what made those games great. The focus on coop is a nice touch to a game that has always used two protagonists. Would've rated this a 9 but since the dev team regrouped and redeemed the feel of their games ill give it a 10, its hard to come back from that sometimes.
Wow never seen the critics and players be so agreeable on ratings. This game is fun, original, has depth, and has the passion that I love in games. One of the few games I would say do not need to be critiqued at all.
This game was not only ahead of its time but during these days (yeah...) this type of plot and space colonialism in games was new. This game brought a feeling of comradery most games did not have until Destiny and Gears of War. The gameplay was fun as hell, the story was basic but original, and the characters not only cared about what they were doing but they had that PS3/ 360 days passion devs put on them.
Pretty good, not as good as the other two lost planets but that seems to be the theme during this era of games. The first two are amazing/flawless and the 3rd one switches dev teams or loses focus a bit.
For a low rated game, it really has not only aged well, but players still consider this specific lost planet as the best and one of the most innovative games of the very early PS3 days. This game was the blueprint for gears, helldivers, and any space "racism" format. If I could rate this game a 30/10 I would, timeless classic.
not gonna lie, I wanna rate this game lower and review bomb it but I'm gonna be fair this time. Marvel games are so boring, but they can be fun outside of the story and in some of the side quests. The MJ missions are just unnecessary, and the game just feels par for the course in a super basic way but again give credit where its due. I feel like these games get must plays because some CEO got **** by a member of the dev team.
This one gets a 10 compared to all the released Broken lore's. Purely because the character has to overcome agoraphobia and the dev portrays the success of that well. The game is pricey for the run time but again THE RUN TIME IS SO SHORT ITS **** AWESOME. Really helps with my backlog. This one also does the environmental story telling aspect justice compared to his other two games that are released right now.
Great writing and tie into Japanese lore. Also, I AM LOVING HOW SHORT THESE GAMES ARE. Quick in and out, gets to the point and doesn't let the playtime fester like a lot of games. 10 bucks is a steep price for a short game; I would've made it like 5 to 7 bucks max but it's still worth it.
First and one of the only MSG's i've played, never got into these games, most of these games are slow burns and its 30 hours of it. This one was just brilliant, the heavy weight of a espionage veteran slowly dying, the weapon customization, the endings of several bosses, and the combat settings are fun as hell.
Glorious game. The redemption and how the character prospers through her own adversity is a great take on mental health. I came into this game not knowing the full story on what the devs were aiming for. The social media thing was cringey, but all social media is to some point. The way the character and the metaphors for her health and what's causing it is original. It's all in her and head she realizes that. Would rate it a 10 but some graphical parts and voice acting came off just slightly stunted.
Decent game so far, the graphics are the only thing I'm dinging it for not because the graphics have to be spectacular but because they used unreal engine 4 with ray tracing so if you're not use to gaming or movement in games it will feel weird, I didn't have that issue but it's a thing with ray tracing. The story is better than broken porcelain by a good amount, it actually makes sense at the beginning of the game rather than have to learn about the whole story at the last 45 minutes.
Remembered this game off the top of my head at work. Why I do so many reviews, passes the time. This game is a classic, and the GOG was right to put it into the system. Everything in this game was original and shaped the espionage gaming genre to its will. Play it, the graphics are outdated but its not as bad as you might think.
Solid 10. The concept was original even for Splinter cell. The ability to even feel like a true hardened double agent and choose which agency you work for even while working under you father agency of the NSA. The game was challenging in all aspects, the missions were unique and the decisions were 100000% yours and your own morality. The combat was classic, same with the stealth. One of my top 10 most immersive games of all time. Just brilliant!
If you want the definition of average in any sense of entertainment not even gaming this, is it. All games with Matt in it are average in the most baseline definition of the word. From mechanics/combat to the terrible bugs and cheesy lines that tries to be a wanna be Duke Nukem. Play this game if you want nostalgia don't play it otherwise.
The best average game I've played. Super ambitious but it's during the golden age of gaming so it pulled its ambition off like the rest did during this period. The topographical dynamic combat system is just raw intelligence by the dev team. The story is average action/adventure shooter storyline. The game would be an 9 or 10 if the story wasn't average and had more passion out into it. Otherwise, every other factor from mechanics to physics to combat is phenomenal.
The best one in the whole series, the addition of a ton more tech and the same combat system just compliment each other well. The story is great, the fact that the joker is actually dead and the devs didn't revive him means this game gets a 10. So many movies where the joker doesn't die or somehow comes back is irritating.
Gotta be harsh on this one, this game pushes the woke alphabet soup people agenda. The story is cool and interesting but its like i'm on a liberal arts college campus (which you are) and they want you to bend over and take the woke ****. The main reason I rated it so high is because while its a liberal piece of **** game the devs somehow.....somehow pulled off an intersting story and gameplay in the whole debacle.
This one was way slower and more boring, IDK why they took the game in this direction where it's just a random person with powers, like it makes sense but it's just weird how it had to be a random girl and characters. Great writing, story, and gameplay like usual. I do like how its in my old stomping grounds of CO. Loved growing up here and will be back out west.
I liked this one, it took more of a boring turn which is why i put this game at a nine. But none the less the devs still put the passion and great story writing into this game.
Not a lot of people liked this one, but I honestly think the story and emotional aspects of this game are better than the first, sure Max isn't in this one, but this one strives in all its aspects. If you get the good ending, then the game gets better.
Brilliant story, it really portrays the grey areas of life and the consequences of it all. The characters are awesome; the gameplay is interesting and the whole setting in the PNW really gives the game the darker edge its portraying.
First Remothered I played. The puzzles are logical and witty. The story is good but not as interesting as the first, mainly because the antagonist carries the threat portion of the game besides the crazy secretary. Thje first had two equally crazy antagonists and one "dead" grandmother that was dope. This one is mainly a slasher. The gameplay is slower for a survival horror (that's saying a lot). Still a good story-based narrative but the gameplay is slow, easy to understand but slow and can be clunky at times. The ray tracing and graphics went up in this game vs tormented fathers. The
Holy ****, I've never played a game that is set up like this. A loved one dies now go and kill 16 ginormous beings to redeem and keep your legacy. I love that the game gets straight to the point with the added bonuses of not having to upgrade your gear and not having extra enemies, just pure unadulterated focus on the task at hand. I wish more games would do this, hell.... they should make a genre similar to this where it's just one focus, no extra enemies for play time's sake, just the goal and that's it. Gaming was just better pre-2018. The originality in the PS2 days was another monster.
It was a bold and interesting take to add alot more focus on the tools and mechanics this game offered and yet again the dev team pulled this one off. To go back to the days where dev teams took bold moves and kept originality alive in gaming.
Brings back memories. Had at least 100 hours in this game, would constantly replay it. The galactic battle storyline was fun and entertaining. The weapons and armors were cool as hell and the voice acting was legendary in this.
Never really played a bad ratchet and Clank. This one was definitely different, and it did the added difference well. The thing that made this game different is the rift dimensions, while this isn't entirely new in this series, it does the new parallel character well. The mechanics, tools, and gameplay are fun and challenging to some degree as usual and the antagonists are just funny and awesome like the older games. Good way to potentially end the series.
Good middle of the road game. I do not like roguelikes generally because of how they work, you lose all your stuff or start over after every death. Just not a fun or forgiving way to play even in the slightest. This games story was interesting enough that it made it somewhat worth it to keep playing. The speed and pace of the game are what's keeping this game afloat. I loved the fact you can easily reenter the "void" or world within like seconds after death, so your pacing wasn't destroyed. The bosses were cool but extremely cheap, like almost like dark souls' games cheap with their hitboxes on the character. Decent game if you're on PlayStation, I would never buy the game even for a discount but its free on PSN so why not.
Probably my favorite and the best RE game in the whole series. This game is intense, unnerving, and the combat is some of the most fun I've had in any RE game. The side characters and the three bosses are all original and unique. Same with the immersion in this game, it's super fresh in a world of games that copy each other in the survival horror genre.
Really should've been just a larger DLC on top of the Snow runner game. Basically, you had to start completely over with the same exact vehicles from the base Snow runner scout to midrange truck classes (plus like 10 new trucks). I really really tried to play more than two hours but after going through it my first though was "why am I replaying Snow runner but with scouts. After my initial two-hour session, I gave up and moved onto my next game. The reason I'm rating it low is because not only does this classify as a DLC, but it really is also just the base definition of corporatism. The devs usually knock their physics simulators out of the park but this one is classic, "just buy our new game even though we could've kept your progress in the previous game". Don't play this game unless its free, don't feed the machine on this one.
Great game all around, the added feature of three characters is a interesting take and it pays out well. The story is really cool and has some cool toys to play with along the adventure. The things I am taking off for is the fact the devs focused way too much on the online feature and the microtransactional features in this game. The corporatism was almost borderline about to kill this game, but it remained intact for some reason. (the online was so repetitive that I was about to just go back to my job after I got off. Seemed more interesting).
The only GTA where its a 10/10. Niko absolutely carries this game and the noiristic feel is such a great touch to a game that usually doesn't take itself seriously. The story, combat, and immersion factors in this game are master class for the open world genre. This game needs to be what the devs strive for.
Played this game for the first time ever on PS4, even though me and my buddies grew up with it but never completed it until within the last two years. The game is awesome. I'm not really one for stupid/pointless gang violence since I've lived in Houston for the last two years. Just doesn't appeal if you live in a big city. But getting off topic, this game is legendary. The story turns into a mob boss type of deal and there are tons of quirkie characters towards the end of the game. Mainly dinging this game for the excess amounts of quests that don't really need to be used in the mainline story. There is so many quests towards the end some of the game gets lost in it, but none the less doesn't take away too much from the story or momentum of the game.
Dropped this game down to a seven after reaching the part where you have to buy all assets and businesses. Why would you ever add this in a game, it hinders your progress and forces you to do quests that could easily be end game, Why Rockstar isn't in my top 10 developers, every game they do something that stops progress and wastes time. Being complete honest, game is good, but it seems to follow the safe route like most GTA games except GTA 4. Vice city is very fun but it follows the three-phase plan Rockstar can't get away from in regard to GTA's. Phase 1: get familiar with mission givers, Phase 2: throw a bunch of quests and mission givers towards the player character until they get caught up. Phase 3: kill the main antagonist or go on a extravagant heist to end the game. Otherwise, The combat is fun, story is classic, and the movement is refined in this edition. Only reason I can't rate any or most GTA above an 8 is because, while Rockstar is great with stories they can't not play it safe with their story phasing. Vice city falls into this "status qou" scenario.
Good story; it was the normal post 2020 marvel cheesy and heartfelt. Combat was ok, it wasn't clunky but there was definitely some stuff that the enemies did that you couldn't counter immediately that made it kind of cheap. The characters were cool as the movies with a bit more depth. Overall, good game wasn't great, not every game has to be. The main reason I rated it the way I did was because its a marvel game, its copy/paste story with copy/paste combat nothing new and different and nothing super interesting.
Another great addition to the series. Interesting on adding the protagonist as the main character. Also even more interesting is the protag is not even the good guy he's just a better moral character in a **** environment. again takes the first one and runs with the great story and gameplay.
Absolute flawless cinema. Every single thing about this game with a huge emphasis on the story and twists are just wonderful. The lore is smooth and intellectual, and the gameplay is the most fun I've ever had in gaming.
