Capcom has invested much on the multiplayer content, but unfortunately the game fails to deliver. The campaign is much less nerve wrecking with human aid, but the biggest issue concerning other multiplayer modes is the lack of players. [June 2010]

Everything's improved except the controls. [May 2010, p.87]

If you can weather the campaign's slow start and the game's wildly overwrought menu system, you'll find more than enough incredible content here to satisfy your Akrid-killing, giant robot-piloting fix. [June 2010, p.74]

Playing this game both Singleplayer and Multiplayer is kind of a drag and gets very boring very quickly me and my brother played co-op on it for maybe 15 min before we were both like "This is boring lets play something else." Not to mention the fact that they don't really explain some things in the game like the drops when you kill an enemy like what do those do?

Now then what on earth has happened here....from the snow capped landscapes we enter a sun-kissed tropical oasis of sorts! A nod to our own real life scenario of global-warming perhaps? Anyway, its a change of scenery, storyline and enemies as we embark on a more team-based adventure as snow **** you are not in the thick of it alone this time. The storyline is more action packed and far more engaging that the first game; the action in some of the cutscenes really draws you into the story. There is a boss fight above a running train, with a snake-like lizard that blasts out of the sand beneath you, as well as a battle with two massive dragon-like bosses that scream shock waves at you! This time the enemies come at you more ferociously, the environments (although no longer snowy) really make you want to explore and hunt down enemies, and again the music can range from serene to dramatic depending on the situation. The presentation and menus look more refined this time round, with more options to change how your character looks, as well as other multiplayer options. And, although small, there is the STRIKE A POSE option!!!! Now why didnt anyone think of that before eh??? The only small issue with this game is the slowdown in frame rate when a few boss fights get hectic, but its only in a few parts of the game. This is an under rated gem, and the reason why it fell from grace was that most people wanted that snow filled dreamscape from the first game, yet did not appreciate the transformation in the sequel.

Coming off the back of the first game, I remember this sequel much more fondly. It did a lot to expand the world of the first game, and I remember being incredibly impressed with the variety of creature designs. While the story still remains difficult to follow, its action set-pieces certainly became more elaborate. There are very few other games I can say I fought up the length of a railway gun to commandeer it, only to then have to kill a dune-tier sandworm with that same gun in the next mission. This game trades most of the snow and sleet of the original for vibrant branching narratives with various groups, all of which converge into a climactic battle. Still very much a style-over-substance title, but with this game at least I'm fully aware that this was by design, and I'm all for it!

Lost Planet 2 is a splendid action game. The charm of new locations, the cooperative aspect greatly stressed, and the exalting look of MT Framework 2.0 are the main elements of a cool gaming experience.

Due to some very drastic design choices, Lost Planet 2 is a very peculiar game: Capcom sacrificed a strong story and main character in favour of a more co-op oriented gameplay. If you're the kind of gamer who loved Left 4 Dead, you'll probably love this too: otherwise, if you're looking for a more story-focused action game it'll be a bit of a letdown.

Graphics: 10 (for its time). Gameplay was frustrating but after a few patches it was good. Grapple hook; big guns; awesome artwork and awesome environments and boss battles. This game is the stuff of dreams. I have not played LP1 or LP3. Jut part 2 on a Xbox 360. If I could choose ANY game remake for my Ps4 Pro in 2017; it would easily be this game. Extremely underrated! Oh and its 2 player offline local co op. 2017's Monster Hunter is basically the new version but a different game entirely aswel.

Capcom has made a strong bet for multiplayer in Lost Planet, and it has achieved it. But has not paid enough attention to the single player.

Lost Planet 2 is both infuriating and exhilarating in mostly equal measures. It has a long list of annoying issues, but when push comes to shove, playing online with a trio of friends is some of the best fun to be had.
64
Ultimately though, Lost Planet 2 leaves a sour taste in the mouth as an immense disappointment, because it really should have been one of the year's biggest blockbuster action titles, yet it sadly falls some way short.

Capcom’s defrosted sequel offers some satisfactory multiplayer and co-op play, but fails completely as a solo experience. Lost Planet 2 may look and sound astonishing, but it is ultimately undermined by poor design and frustrating gameplay.

It’s just another deposit of digital cholesterol on a constricting artery that’s one cheeseburger away from being clogged forever by uninspired third-person shooters.

Decent game but personally, I did not find it as good as the first one. If it's super cheap then give it a whirl.

This was a good game with an interesting story envolving the Akrids, monster races that are ridiculously big. Entertaining game that you will enjoy for sure if you like science fiction games.

Lost Planet 2 is a pretty mediocre third-person shooter The game looks nice and has solid gunplay. Also has 2 player local co-op,which is always nice. However, the game has some of the cheapest AI I have ever seen, and if you fail a mission, you will be sent back MULTIPLE LEVELS.These two flaws led to a lot of frustration, significantly lessening my enjoyment of the game. Lost Planet 2 is a game people who love backtracking [all 4 of them] will **** the rest of us steer clear unless you want a lot of frustration.

I rarely trade a game back in before I'm done with it, especially when I have friends who are playing it. But that's how frustratingly bad Lost Planet 2 is. Just like the first, it's repetitive and full of flawed gameplay and controls. The graphics and huge monsters seem fun at first, but the more you play, the more you see how it's completely boring yet frustrating. I'm not a fan of Capcom and this game is an example why.
SummaryLost Planet 2 picks up 10 years since the events of the original adventure and the landscape has evolved dramatically. With the success of terraforming activities, the planet's ice has begun to melt, giving way to lush tropical jungles and other new environments. The story has advanced beyond Wayne Holden as players now follow the exploi... Read More
