BrokenLore: LOW is an unnerving short form horror game, with disturbing monsters, an eerie atmosphere and the potential to scare the pants off you.

LOW has enough surprising moments and weighty themes to warrant experiencing this BrokenLore debut, but an array of minor irritants leave plenty of room for improvement in what will hopefully become a more regularly rewarding franchise.

This game was able to give me back those sensations that I hadn't felt since PT, I say it's the progenitor of this genre of first-person horror game, I recommend it for two very important reasons: the plot, being the first glue game in a series of titles, it lays the foundations for a narrative plot that promises sparks, the second is all about the sound design, my dears, play it with headphones and you'll understand what I'm referring to. The design choice of using low poly graphics in a certain moment of the game is very valuable, as was already clear from the trailer, compliments to Serafini production!

BrokenLore: Low is a prelude that goes out of its way to undermine any possible curiosity towards the following chapters. The story, or perhaps it would be better to say the idea of a story that they wanted to tell, is absolutely mismanaged in terms of pacing, quality, and characters; it goes from an excessive overexposure of the few elements that make it up to an absolute crypticness that would like to convey mystery but, at most, only passes confusion. The gameplay comes out just as badly broken, as it is characterized by a constant running in circles and by a setting that would like to be disorienting but completely fails, resulting in monotonous and repetitive due to its circular structure. The low-poly section is not clear why it was inserted, although it has at least the merit of tearing us away from the constant spinning around mentioned above. Even from an aesthetic point of view, nothing of the game is saved, both for the scarcity of models and for the quality of the same when human characters come on the scene.

Few horror games dare to explore the depths of the human psyche as unflinchingly as BrokenLore: LOW. In a genre often saturated with predictable jump scares and recycled mechanics, LOW delivers an experience that is not only terrifying but profoundly unsettling, leaving a lingering impact long after the credits roll.

**BrokenLore Low** is an extremely basic and shallow game that doesn’t deliver a compelling story and doesn’t know how to properly tell its narrative. On top of the poor storytelling, the gameplay offers nothing—it’s mostly just a walking simulator with some scares that don’t even effectively create tension. The game is really bad, doesn’t even measure up to other indie games at its level, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Fair warning to anyone who wants to play this game, The steam page only warns for "adult content" and they hold back the trigger warning for sexual assault until the game's title page after you've paid for the game already. This game has a non-graphic but first-person experience of what is essentially date ****. They must have decided getting money was more important than warning people who will be triggered by this.
