Better than average screenwriting aside from the excess pejoratives. It would be a lot better if there were less GTA-like unbelievable scenes and less cussing. Unfortunately my interest waned after about the 2/3rds mark when the action sequences went off the rail into absurdity.

The Rip0
Jan 19, 2026
**** number of times the screenwriters typed the f word. The Rip is yet another completely forgettable movie from Netflix. And they wasted "$100M" on its production. You hear that? That's the sound of your monthly subscription being flushed on amateur scripts written by community college dropouts. Apparently Netflix doesn't budget for good writers. And Netflix pushed to production because Netflix doesn't care about quality.

Boring screenwriting and storytelling. The sets are delicious but they just don't coalesce around a script that will keep the audience entertained.

10/10 acting, casting, screenwriting, pace. Now I can't tell y'all if all this procedure is fact or fiction. But it was food for thought.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning3
Oct 20, 2025
Hannah Waddingham talking in an American accent is distracting. Her mouth isn't moving naturally. It's too long. The story too unbelievable. That scene where Ethan is just breathing heavy for 20 minutes...boring. Movies shouldn't be much more than 1.5 hours long. Seeing how this was the "last" MI movie I gave it a go. Ended up bored and falling asleep. The disconnect from reality really tanks the movie. The complete lack of any witty dialog makes this script flushable.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps3
Sep 25, 2025
The movie opens with a woman taking a leak. Really? Whose adolescent mind thought that up? Fast forward seven minutes in and the student yawns ....reflecting what the audience has watched so far. The director wants us to sit through the rest when the first 7 minutes is a creative masterpiece of boneheaded boredom? Where's the wit? ..The creativity? So, again, we have another superhero movie barely breaking even on the production and marketing costs because they hire blithering idits to write and direct. "Genius".

Abandoned at 0:48. I'm unwilling to sit another 1.5 hour in a poorly paced movie that has zero wit or character endearing. The screenwriting ****.

It's too long. I'm into this an 1:20 and I still have 50 minutes left? I'm done. It's not good enough to keep watching. It's soulless, witless, and mostly poorly written action flick. Maybe hire people that can act next time? Why is every DC movie a massive flop? Who has oversight of these movies? Because they **** at their job.

The Accountant 21
Aug 25, 2025
Bad screenwriting. Not sure Bill Dubuque set out to ruin the "franchise" he created, but he did. Solid 'C' effort writing. Bernthal is a terrible actor for this part and literally tanked the movie all by himself. Afflecks character even got annoying towards the end. Abandoned it at about 1:30 mark at which point the story was so unfollowable and dumb, I abandoned it all-together. It was way too long. The editor should have removed dozens of unnecessary parts to keep the flow interesting.

How to Train Your Dragon8
Aug 12, 2025
By the end of 2025, it will be considered one of the best shows of 2025. Gerard Butler carries but the ensemble cast and sidekicks are great. It's well written though mildly forced at times. The score is 10/10.

There's no original story. It's just one cliché after another. The acting is terrible. Ana de Armas is not an action actor. Every movement from her is forced and exaggerated and fraudulent. Which begs the question, why was she cast? After more than an hour of this I was done.

Who's the target audience? This show doesn't know. The audience has no idea either. The pacing is way ****'s too slow. There's zero **** screenwriting is deceased as is my interest in finishing the show. The main character hasn't said anything to endear me to him. He's nap-inducing to watch. He says and does high functioning autism things. If you're gonna write a show, make it fast. Make it fun or don't make it at all. Certainly don't take DULL writing to production.

I can't believe they Momoa was given $11M dollars to deliver one of the most "meh" overpaid performances of all time. The story is just not that interesting. The Dungeons and Dragons Honor among thieves movie from a couple years back, in this similar genre, is a 100 times better than this movie.

Incredibly mid screenwriting. Acting was good. Casting was good. But no one cared a wit about the brother. He was just there to annoy the audience. And that stunt at the end in lobby? I mean come **** least make the show believable. We can tell the director knew it was going to be a train wreck so they put zero effort into the ending or editing. They'd probably run out of money at that point.

Captain America: Brave New World1
Feb 18, 2025
Don't waste your money or time. It's poor screenwriting and story-telling. Anthony Mackie isn't an A-list actor that can carry scenes. He's a solid sidekick, like ScarJo's black widow. That's it. The MCU CA franchise is DOA if they don't make serious changes. Hiring nobody's to write the script was the first problem. Bringing Mackie in to take over for Chris Evans is the second.

The screenwriting is atrocious. Why bring a first draft to production and expect the movie to do well. There's zero wit or humor. Topher Grace was poorly cast. I don't have any idea why Gibson would agree to direct this. I have no idea why Whalberg agreed to the part. They must have been bored. I have no idea why it was even released in it's final form.

The DEI is so obvious it's distracting...something I'm willing to overlook if the actors are cast well. Bateman and Egerton carry the movie well. They're incredible actors. Unfortunately the screenwriters got incredibly lazy in the last half of the movie. The whole thing comes undone with the ridiculously unbelievable scenes.

Chief of Station3

We all want this movie to be good. But it has serious pacing issues. Aaron Eckhart is a solid B actor. Barely able to hold a scene. Unconvincing in most of the scenes he's in. And there are SO many scenes he's in that require serious dramatic acting skills he just doesn't have. He lacks the **** seriousness to pull off a believable performance. Also the screenwriting is just bad. Characters should be likable. We should want to know why Farrah died as much as her husband. But we really don't care because the lead actor can't act and the screenwriting ****.

Jun 15, 2024
This was an excellent show until it descended into excruciating levels of absurd 2/3rds of the way through. There are a lot of fantastic unexpected twists and turns which keeps the story going. Unfortunately I couldn't finish it due to the absure "rainbow fight scene." Also BDH was absolutely the wrong actress for the part. She is a mediocre actress at best and she desperately struggled to carry scenes. Sam Rockwell must have a sore back carrying the entire movie. BDH's physical appearance really doesn't compliment her lack of acting chops. And if the story hadn't lost its way, I wouldn't have such a negative opinion.

I know everyone likes this movie but daaaaaayum. This takes villain origin story to a whole new level of evil. It's dark. Moody. Absense of ANY happiness. Pretty sure that's what the writers wanted. Mission accomplished. It's slow. Incredibly tediously slow. I found myself fast forwarding through many parts just to move the story along.

Jason Bourne6
Jun 8, 2024
A solid movie. But there are so many unrealistic parts, that it detracts from the movie's overall entertainment value. Solid screenwriting. Solid acting. Solid casting choices except Riz Ahmed. And sadly, it's partially filmed in Vegas, the trashiest place on earth. An overused cliche set for wanting to look cool. A place more fake than the concrete forms the Venetian used to build every part of their facade. Directors and screenwriters need to avoid this place at all costs.

Pacific Rim: Uprising1
Jun 8, 2024
First draft screenwriting that makes me wonder who made the decision to push it to production. Then there's a cast. John Boyega can't act. He was horrible in the star wars movies. You'd think by his inability to carry a scene, he would never be cast as a lead ever again. Everything about this movie screams fully-invested DEI casting director. It was doomed before it ever made it to production. And the only reason it made money is because the first was good.

10/10 stars for the visuals. Absolutely amazing. But they are the only thing going for this movie. It falls apart ¼ of the way in. There are so many scenes that simply don't move the plot along or get tediously annoying. Time after time the pause button is hit so we can visit a tangent here or a tangent their. There's just no continuity. I don't know why this movie was made or why Marvel didn't force the director to re-edit the entire thing into a cohesive witty enjoyable movie.

Abandoned mid movie. Too dark. Too moody. There is some good acting but there's a complete absence of happiness. We're meant to enjoy the movie right? There's no wit or humor. No snappy dialog. And some of the action/fighting sequences are laughably bad.

The screenwriting was laughably bad. The plot was weak. The acting bad, ...becuase the screenwriting was bad. There's no story and there was zero scene continuity. One thing led to another like a robot. How the producers got 3 or so good actors to agree to be in a production this weak, is beyond me. Proof if you throw enough money at a project, you can get anyone involved. Proof that nearly ANY studio is so starved for content, they'll greenlight any script put in front of them. They have too much money.

Some of the worst first-draft screenwriting I've ever watched. Abandoned about 20 minutes in. I cannot believe Netflix went to production with a this script, written by someone who can't write and clearly doesn't know the genre he's even writing for. Dan Mazeau is an absolute garbage screenwriter.
