Political intrigue abounds as Spielberg grippingly recreates a famous real-life spy-swap case of the Cold War, with both Hanks and Rylance on top form.

Bridge Of Spies turns a secret prisoner exchange between the CIA and the KGB into a tense and often disarmingly funny cat-and-mouse game.

Everything about this film is epic. I can't recommend it enough. Tom Hanks and the rest of the cast, the screenwriting, **** perfect. The Coen brothers write movies that connect with me.

I cannot express more love for this movie anymore, this is just another genius evidence of the great Mr. Steven Spielberg, Bridge Of Spies is a top-tier Spielberg's film, i put Bridge Of Spies above Lincoln, Munich, War Of The Worlds, Minority Report, War Horse, and a few rest more, because this movie is just fascinating, it's so good, it's so great, it's a story that might seems complicated but it's actually one of the easiest story i've ever followed and i've ever invest in a movie that almost 2 in a half hours long, it's an incredible story and inspiring story that fills with incredible performances, it hit my emotional feeling at the end because how much i care and invest i am to the story, it's just a fascinating fascinating and powerful stuff that Spielberg's put in this movie, Bridge Of Spies is a Masterpiece, top 10 from Spielberg's, he just can't stop making another one of his best films again again and again even in his late career and it's rare for it to happen, Bridge Of Spies is my ****, i dig this movie to death.

Solid and uplifting, but it doesn’t extend Spielberg’s range. Perhaps one day he will make a movie about a historical character whose complexities are not quite so untainted.

Bridge of Spies is itself a form of historical whitewashing, albeit one less noxious and harmful than the customary American variety. I liked the movie a lot – it’s one of Spielberg’s most measured and most adult films in years.

With names like Spielberg, Hanks, and the Coen Brothers, it's hard not to be excited about a project like Bridge of Spies. Yet, although the workmanlike production is solidly engaging, it falls short of the loftiest expectations. It's worth seeing but not one of the best films of 2015.

While the rousing tale of espionage has plenty of appealingly old-fashioned qualities, there's no doubting Spielberg's ability to devise visually arresting moments that speak to the movie's themes far better than its story.

Bridge of Spies, with its stop-and-go momentum, is also more merely interesting than it is full-on riveting. It's still quite good stuff, but despite its impressive pedigree... it doesn't feel as if it's quite the sum of all of its parts.

Great movie overall. Intelligently capturing the thrill and uncertainty of the cold war. This film portrays the true faces of humanity so accurately, it's respectable. The Tom Hanks comedic relief helps pace the story and just helps the audience go the distance.

Bridge of Spies is a good movie, supported by strong acting from Tom Hanks and Mark Rylance. Everything holds that little bit extra weight when you realise the film is loosely based on a true story. The film is well shot - even if the lens distortion at times is off-putting - but sadly the entire film just feels...a bit uninspired. The film comes and goes, but I don't feel like a lasting impression has been left. Some action scenes feel like they're there just to say "hey, are you still watching?".

This is the kind of thing at which Spielberg excels, and the story, with its parallels and ironies intact, maybe even pumped a bit (Abel seems a more honorable man than Powers), is well told. But Spielberg seems a bit bored by his material, as if he were hankering to do something a little less Meaningful. Nonetheless, I’ve no major complaints about "Bridge," an engrossing period piece with fine acting by Hanks and his supporting cast and ghostly blue-&-white cinematography by long-time Spielberg collaborator Kaminski.

OMG, I could only make it halfway through the film before I felt myself aging. The pacing of this film is the equivalent of two Ambien. I was like "what rookie director thought pacing this like an old "Perry Mason" episode was a good idea?" And the so obvious cliché defense atty (Tom Hanks) wrapping himself in the Constitution and EVERYONE else shaming him for defending the spy. And then I find that the director is Spielberg, then it clicked why everyone has **** themselves with fawning reviews. Disgraceful. This could've been a very interesting and intriguing film but Spielberg's phoned-in directing made it the worst I've seen all year.
