Greedy People is consistently funny, endearingly acted, competently directed, sufficiently twisty, and more than entertaining enough to pass an afternoon when it’s too hot to go outside but too early to distract one’s self with copious amounts of football.

Greedy People is somewhat tonally amiss, but not long enough for the experience to self-destruct. It's a fine working backward whodunit from the inside out.

I really enjoyed it, actually am surprised at the ratings - I liked the story, I liked that it was not completely predictable plus I liked the storylines from multiple views. Maybe only did not like that at first it felt like more of a comedy and suddenly almost completely lost the vibe - felt too strong of a shift, but other than that I did enjoy it.

去年应该是看到这部电影了,但是不太感兴趣就没看。这准备在大陆影院上映了,就来看看。囧瑟夫近些年好像都挺佛系,没演啥好片…… 片子本身就是一般水准的黑色喜剧,没什么好说的。

What we’re left with is a movie that has good moments for all the actors, but which, through a series of tonal imprecisions, ends up seeming sour and pointless.

It also portends to be a sincere moral fable about avarice and the way it corrupts people—via the bookends of the beginning and end of the story—but it hardly convinces and leaves one a little puzzled at the jejune attempt at blurting something meaningful after 90 minutes of wacky crime tales and dishonest people.

Some good moments and a great cast, but this doesn’t come together.

Unfortunately, the proceedings become increasingly tiresome the more the characters are killed off, with the result that despite an impressive cast, the film comes to feel like a Coen brothers rip-off.

I really liked this movie. It surprised me by being much funnier and much darker than the trailer let on. Joseph Gordon-Levitt makes an intimidating bad guy, who’s also somehow childishly pitiful, and the Fargo-sequel-like storytelling aspect draws you into an intriguing story. Sure, it has its slower moments, but for the most part, it’s full of comedic intensity, twists and turns, and even a solid resolution. A memorable dark comedy worth watching.

Undeniably, we’ve got some seasoned, veteran actors here who all step up their game! Some of the comedy and punchlines were actually equally written and executed quite brilliantly. But it’s like the true potential in each and every scene was never completely unlocked, leaving a potential classic feeling a little flat. JG-L’s character got a bit exhausting and clearly there was more screen time focused on HIM - and he wasn’t even the most likeable character? I don’t think it was bad at all, the true potential just felt a bit suffocated. Know what I mean stringbean??

Wild story. Screenwriting wasn't that great. There was nothing witty. The ending was unexpected.

(Mauro Lanari) Speaking of (divine) Providence according to Cormac McCarthy's inconsolable orphans: as soon as I saw Lily James pregnant, I had a hallucination and Frances McDormand appeared to me, the 1997 Academy Award winner for Best Actress in a similar role, the only one Joel Coen's wife knows how to play from "Mississippi Burning" (Parker '88) to "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" (McDonagh 2017). Derivative classicism is Ponciroli's trademark, and, surprise, surprise, critics are beginning to pan such manneristic eternal return, a veritable "Ludovico technique" of cinematic torture, a test of endurance against boredom
