The show is not perfect (Basso and Buchanan still lack chemistry in a way that sometimes makes them feel more like siblings than lovers), but it’s consistently entertaining for 10 hours, rarely succumbing to the Netflix sag that often sinks shows this long. It’s an easy, thrilling, one-weekend watch.

While the new series of The Night Agent doesn’t reinvent the wheel, with its slick visuals, fast pacing and heart-stopping shootouts, it really doesn’t have to.

I enjoyed it and ended up binge watching it. All kinds of angles get added to the storyline so you think "what the hell is going on???" and then you watch more and "ah hah!!!" so that's what it was. The only thing I didn't like was more of the good guys get killed than the bad.

There is a lot of charisma between Peter and Rose, replaced by Isabel in season 3. It’s not as slick or uber violent as most detective series and maybe that’s why I like it. Ultimately there is a dark government conspiracy involved with enough realism to keep us watching.

Gabriel Basso’s action thriller isn’t a hit by accident. And in Season 3, it’s firing on all cylinders. There’s a star right there.

Despite some story presentation issues, The Night Agent season 2 is still a serviceable follow-up to season 1. Peter and Rose continue to be a perfect pairing, while new characters compliment their mission in both helpful and adversarial roles.

It concretely lays a foundation for more. The Night Agent may not be consistently gripping, nor is it the stuff of fine literature, but it’s serviceable, pulpy entertainment.

“The Night Agent” is no worse than workmanlike but, also, workmanlike. It’s nothing special, nothing awful and exactly what many want from television.

Though, despite being occasionally absorbing, the series can’t quite achieve the balance between thriller and drama needed to strike a steady tone. No doubt this could easily be cleaned up and trimmed into a two-and-a-half-hour movie in the right hands. But in Netflix’s boundless arena, The Night Agent is a slog slowly into the dark of the evening, never quite living up to its title’s gloriously silly potential.

It's great for what it is -- action with a bit of espionage, requiring suspense of critical thinking every once in a while. Don't think too hard and enjoy it!

This wasn't bad, unlike most of the new TV shows. Interesting story line. Reasonable acting. Story moved along well with some good twists and turns. Our view is: "go ahead and watch, if you like this kind of show."

The first season started with a refreshing spin on a spy-thriller type series. Rose’s character arc was jarring and not cohesive. Peter gradually gained confidence throughout, but seemed to exceed his knowledge and skill level. Diane was simply not believable as a character. Basso does show some charisma, but he’s the only one who does. The pacing was solid in season one. Season two is a mess. The pacing is broken and it has a negative effect on the story that isn’t at all interesting. Basso does have on screen presence but he’s feels more like a growing puppy with oversized feet, and is clumsy. None of the other cast shows any charisma. The Peter/Rose romance is just laughable at times, they often like a couple first-graders. There simply isn’t any emotion attached to the words. The script has no idea what to do with the love stuff.

Midway through eisode 1, it seems like we’re watching a rough draft of the script. They employ almost every “action movie staple” and cram them all into first episode. Because it’s SO exciting, it becomes not exciting at all. Over the top. Too much. And Chau (Chief of Staff) is a highly respected, fantastic actor, but she has so little to work with here, her performance comes off as brutally uninspired.

I liked season 1 much more than season 2. The plot was big, but the character developement of the 'bad guys' involved in the main plot was very shallow - didn't buy into it. In fact, character development of all the main characters in season 2 was very shallow. Nothing even close to a Mission Impossible, or James Bond, or Jason Bourne movies as examples of great character delelopment. And it you're not buying into the characters in a movie/series, you're less likely to enjoy the movie/series. i'm not going to hold my breath for a 3rd season.
