Boba Fett was my favorite character since I was little. I recall seeing him standing next to Darth Vader in the Empire Strikes back and thinking about how cool he was. Then I saw him in Return of the Jedi and was sad to see him die, well at least I thought he was dead. Luckily he was not, and when I saw him turn around in the Mandalorian show and I saw his face, my jaw dropped. They used him perfectly in the Mandalorian and I begged for a show and hey, they did it, but then they ruined his character by making him this nice guy. The opening of the show, masterclass, how he survived without his armor on Tatooine, worked, but after getting his armor back in basically became a super nice guy who likes to protect people instead of this ruthless bounty hunter. Boba Fett lost his throne and now the Mandalorian, Din Djarin, has his place. I also still don't know how to feel about what they did with Grogu here. Still a show you should watch for story reasons, I think this show is more of a 7/10, but I'm holding a grudge so a 6/10 it is.

The Book of Boba Fett would be fine, if it didn't ruin season 3 of The Mandalorian. On the other hand, with that it would lose its two best episodes. The dialogue writing is insultingly bad. How did Jon Favreau go from the first two Mando seasons to this? It isn't conceptually wrong like I thought the first time I saw it. The arcs are just not fleshed out enough. Like the Boba we knew wouldn't have offered the Rodian help, but after he spent 5 years with the tuskens that could be possible. That's another problem. If you don't know Star Wars well, you don't even realize it's not just a few weeks or months, but five years in the desert. The mods aren't a Star Wars design, therefore they don't work and the characters don't fit either. They're supposed to be these little gangsters, who don't have enough money for water, but they speak with a heavy British accent (which is usually spoken by people from the core worlds). The story also could've been great, but it should be smarter and more built up. Also, the non-linear storytelling doesn't work here in my opinion. The directing is mixed, with conflicting tones, weird line deliveries and out of place moments, while others work really well, especially the tusken part. The cinematography, the editing, the visual effects are around the same quality as The Mandalorian, except for the insulting speeder chase. The cast is good and the performances are mixed. I think all these actors are great, they just received weird direction at times. The Book of Boba Fett could've been so much better.

Should've stayed dead in development hell. Ignoring how BORING it manages to be, the real problem is Disney lacks the guts and priority to portray a stone-cold killer like Boba Fett as he should be. No, instead we get a doddering buffoon who eats milk toast for breakfast. Do yourself a huge favor and ditch the **** disney wars fan-fiction and go read the REAL books about Boba Fett in the actual canon. It is every bit superior over this mercifully short tv show.

The Mandalorian reintroduced Boba Fett to the SW universe, with him appearing for the first time since Return of the Jedi in 1983, where he was presumed dead. They made him out to be a stone cold killer, who now moved like John Wick in his armour. Imagine the excitement when a spin off was announced at the end of Season 2 of The Mandalorian and it was confirmed Boba was getting his own show. Then imagine the disappointment when that show turned out to be a boring heap of crap. There are two good episodes out of the 7, both feature The Mandalorian (one of them basically being a Mandalorian only episode). They some how turned the most badass bounty hunter in the galaxy into some boring town mayor who doesn't want to fight anyone, who hires punk rock kids on space vespa's (who partake in one of the worst chase scenes ever recorded, on top of doing stupid spins before shooting their weapons). Not only that, they some how managed to nerf the Rancor!

Should be called "Boba and the undoing of Mandalorian season 2" or "Boba forget he has a jetpack and trust the useless Vespa Rangers of the Rainbow"...

TV series enjoyable even if the plot is rather flat from beginning to end. Boba Fett's character could have had a better development and not the classic character converted to the "good side", but it remains an enjoyable TV series

Boba Fett is one of the most fascinating and even important characters in the Star Wars saga. He has incredible potential in storytelling. Unfortunately, Disney fell flat in this opportunity to explore more of the Galaxy through the eyes of Boba Fett. They did however fill in the gaps of his past, which was something we definitely wanted to see. Developing the Tuskan Raiders as a people showed creativity and risk from the showrunners. Boba Fett's character stays consistent with what we know of him from the Star Wars films. Temuera Morrison continues to portray this with ease. Regardless of poor storytelling, we are still committed to this character. Halfway through, the series falls flat, with a pending climax that the creators knew would not fill up the rest of the series. Thankfully, the Mandalorian saves the day. Two episodes are spent on Din Djarin and Grogu, without even a mention of Boba Fett. This makes The Book of Boba Fett essentially ‘The Mandalorian Season 2.5’. The series is 7 episodes long, different from the standard 8-episode length The Mandalorian S1 and S2 followed - another indicator that the writers did not have a strong enough plot to continue the story for that long. The rainbow biker gang Boba Fett enlists in his rebellion against the Pike Syndicate is a joke. A jarring inconsistency with the rest of Tatooine, and even Star Wars as a whole. They look like they don't belong and are useless to the plot. The character design of Cad Bane is impeccable. This is where the creators succeeded. Identical to his animated counterpart from The Clone Wars, he is a villain to fear. Unfortunately, he didn't get the involvement, development, and screen time his character deserved. So much missed potential here. This is the first time we see the Dark Saber since the end of the Mandalorian S2, and E7 is almost entirely dedicated to developing the power and lore of the Dark Saber. If you're not going to give us the Boba Fett we want, then give us more of this. The climax and final battle of the show seem silly and unbelievable. The ‘rainbow biker gang’ doesn’t help with this perception. With all the build-up surrounding the Pike Syndicate, they don’t put up a very good fight - and then a pair of massive battle droids that were way too out of place show up out of nowhere. Overall, the show’s purpose was to reintroduce us to a classic character, to let us know he's still alive and active in the galaxy (or just on Tatooine?), to carry the storyline of the Mandalorian forward, and to connect the two main characters. Din Djarin and Grogu are reunited, and ready for their new adventure in The Mandalorian S3.

What the heck is this supposed to be in the first place? I will admit it's slightly interesting to a degree but it's kind of a scattershot. The story starts interesting but then it keeps doing flashbacks or side stories. Like entire episodes are dedicated to a flashback. Boba Fett basically is a promotional video for other Star Wars episodes on Disney +. I will admit I am still watching it, always hoping it will get better in the final episodes, but unlikely. Unless you're a massive Star Wars fan who wants to watch everything, skip it, your not missing anything.

Good for seeing old familiar faces but besides that, nothing but another filler series made by Disney

I actually quite liked it unlike most of the other people, dunno why but I thought it was decent and had some nice action in it too.

While I enjoyed some parts of The Book of Boba Fett many gave me literally pure disgust. I can't believe it's possible to make such abhorrant mistakes unintentionally like in Ep. 3: -Rancor dialogue is utterly oversensitive, it's even painful to watch and insulting, the viewer is made a fool of -Rainbow colored bikes from cyborgs are absolutely ridiculous, it makes no sense for the world and culture -Boba seems like an spineless and inexperienced idiot compared to Fennec Shand in many dialogues/decisions, he's the leader, which means he should also be more intelligent and competent. -Bikercyborg gang doesn't seem like competent trained fighters but crappy teenage hippies or drug addicts, if they are criminal or threaten officials, they should just go to prison or be killed on the spot. -Race diversity on Tatooine is way too balanced compared to Phantom Menace, I'm not racist but I think you should stick to the source material to be historically accurate Comparable sw ratings: The Mandalorian 5/10, original trilogy 10/10, prequel trilogy 10/10, swtcw 10/10, Rogue One 7/10

I'm wracking my brain trying to remember the good parts of this show, but the random Mandalorian episode was one of the only interesting bits. Ironic, since "Mando" was sort of originally a cheap copy of Boba, and is now the more beloved character. How did they ruin Cad Bane? :( Also, the Vespa chase was so ridiculous. :(

I can’t believe we finally get a show about Boba Fett.. and it’s this. This was almost as disappointing as the Obi-Wan show, the only reason it wasn’t is because Boba Fett wasn’t the most well known character (in terms of personality) anyways. Regardless, Boba Fett is barely boba Fett,action is lackluster, writing is disappointing, and there are more moments I recall being absolutely ridiculous than anything good.

This show has a LOT of interesting plotlines, and it never once lost my interest, and it was thrilling to most everyone I know.

Season 1 Review:The first 2 thirds of this first season of "Book of Boba Fett" should not exist. I would love to see the continuing adventures of Boba Fett, I just don't want it to be this adventure. He basically becomes the mayor of a town, which is the complete opposite of what he should be doing, which is jet setting around, being the raddest bounty hunter in the **** first 2 thirds of the season are unwatchably boring. To make matters worse, they take this character who has been a highly regarded man of mystery for the past 40 years, and they turn him into someone so dull that I do not want to see any more of him or his escapades. But then, for the last third of the season, the entire show changes into something completely different, and it makes this show worthwhile. Personally, I suggest skipping to episode 5 and forgetting the beginning of the series.

Truly, monumentally terrible. It's very cool that they got the original actor for Boba himself, and the "origin story" as it were involving the Sand People is excellent. Virtually everything else about this show is utterly awful. The new side characters are not even remotely interesting. The real low point is the color-coordinated teenaged cyborg Vespa gang. Good God what were they thinking? The action scenes are hard to watch. Again, I genuinely and truly think it's wonderful that they got the original Boba Fett back on the screen, but they forgot that he's old and a little out of shape. As a result, his action scenes are heavily CG, and the live-action stuff is slow and stiff. But this begs the question: why is the baddest bounty hunter in the galaxy throwing hands? Why is he trying to be the good guy? The plot is utter nonsense. As above, none of these events should have one of the most feared men in the franchise in them. Instead of being a gravel-voiced villain, or even a Punisher-style antihero, the writers have tried to make Boba F'ing Fett a hero. Out is the shoot-first-ask-questions-never scary guy with the cool helmet, in is a smiling, un-helmeted grandpa who is literally running for mayor so he can get drugs and crime off his streets. You wouldn't watch a movie called RoboCop where it was two hours of RoboCop doing accounting work, and you shouldn't watch this either. The only episodes worth sitting through are the ones that are just episodes of The Mandalorian. Jesus, what a mess.

In the beginning I really enjoyed the show, but I guess Disney just ran out of ideas. and they spent the rest of the episodes focused on the Mandalorian so they could set up season 3 so that was disappointing.

The main story is interesting but what hell happened in the last 3 episodes... Did someone get bored and decide to just add anything Star Wars with a dartboard. It screws up the main story line shortens the time building character and confuses the hell out of people that haven't seen the Mandalorian...

Boba Fett made you question in the first episode, but it proved to be an excellent series with the next episodes. Boba Fett and Mandalorian are delightful works for me; who doesn't like the universe excessively? It's worth watching with its action, editing, and nostalgia.

Mediocre acting, hollow story, inconsistent CGI with poor editing and cutting of sequences together. The story just jumps around with no real core. There are some decent action scenes and seeing Mando is cool and all, but can't save the show from just being flat-out boring. The best episodes being the ones without Boba himself says alot about the show.

As much as I really don't want to recommend this show to anybody, the fact that you have to watch this show after The Mandalorian Season 2 proves that Disney probably knew that this show was bad and made it mandatory to watch it to get caught up in the series in order to make back their money on the series. Since I'm not exactly going to be pulling any punches on the negatives, the few positives I have for this show primarily revolve around great action sequences, great performances all across the board, and an overall decent enough soundtrack. The first thing I can easily say about why I didn't enjoy this show despite the fact it's about Boba Fett, it doesn't focus NEARLY enough on him to actually be about him and even when he is in action, he feels so nurtured and stripped of what he was like in the OG trilogy and there's no way he changed from a relentless bounty hunter just looking for money to a soft war leader who wants to protect a town he managed to claim ownership from Jabba the Hut since the show never explored this change of his. To be clear, Din from The Mandalorian was the same, but the reason that worked was because he managed to find someone to care about and love thanks to Grogu reminding him of his past self hence we were we there with him up unto the end and it felt so satisfying to see it happen. Speaking of Din and Grogu, one of the episodes was dedicated entirely to him getting Grogu back and people say this was when the show was finally picking up steam and I'm more inclined to disagree since that means we get even less time with Boba and when he got Grogu back, it didn't even feel exciting since it basically made the ending of Season 2 meaningless so no, Din and Grogu coming back in this show didn't make it better but in fact made it so much WORSE considering it meant sacrificing time focusing on Boba even if both characters were excellent here. The rest of the side characters were downright FORGETTABLE with no redeeming qualities to them and just when it looked like they were going to stand out, their time in the spotlight gets stolen at the last minute preventing me from cheering them on and hoping they would win. The main villains aren't even very good either since they aren't nearly present enough in the first 4 episodes to set up tension and create any sort of fear for me to take them seriously and when they do show up to actually create unspeakable horrors, it's already too late since I lost all of my investment in the show a long time ago. So overall, this TV show fails as both a follow-up to The Mandalorian and as a spin-off for Boba Fett and if it wasn't for the fact that you needed to watch it before watching Season 3 of The Mandalorian, I would've easily recommended you stay away from this show no matter what. In the end though, I think you're better off just watching a YouTube video explaining the story of the series because I absolutely cannot recommend The Book of Boba Fett.

Started watching the show with a bit of skepticism considering the amount of bad reviews. It ended up being quite a surprise, and an enjoyable experience. Nuance is added to Boba's character, and also there's character development. The Mando arches, even though they're quite lengthy make sense for the broader picture.

Whatever this is, this is not Boba Fett. This is an old senile grandpa who used to be a veteran but gets cu()ked by all strong female characters around him. Which is sad, because this startet out good and promising but Fell flat to the floor. 2/10 for the first two episodes, what follows after is just garbage.

The sad truth is: the best episode of the show was the one where Boba doesn’t make any appearances. The storytelling is extremely slow, in the first couple of episodes not very much is happening. Instead of giving the character of Boba Fett a show in its own right, the show mostly serves to set up the third season of The Mandalorian. I like Mando a lot, but his story should be told in his own show. I guess, Boba Fett was mainly produced to provide content for Disney+ and to take the links between the Star Wars shows to the extreme - but that strategy will probably come to an end anyway. To sum up: Giving Boba a real show with a real story could have been interesting, but using him just as a stirrup keeper seems kind of wasted.

It's not worthy of being a part of the Star Wars franchise. The quality of costumes- and CGI we experiance from George Lucas and J.J Abrams is completely missing. Even though it does reintroduce Boba Fett quite fine, the new side characters just throws the series completely off course.

Same as everyone else is saying. They have taken one of the most memorable characters and placed him in a world of children with learning difficulties. Disney, please cut out the kiddy jokes, the stupid little hovercraft bikes with the gang of tweener morons, and grow the world in the same vein as Andor.

This was trash except when it was The Mandalorian all of a sudden. Annoying that this is mandatory viewing.

This felt rushed and shallow to me. The Book of Boba Fett is a story that simply wasn't worth telling. It was a very thin plot stretched out over far too many episodes before devolving into Mandalorian season 2.5. It was truly needless and did nothing to further the character in any way.

The Star Wars Legends’ Jaster Mereel is the real Boba Fett. This show further convinces me of that fact.

The whole series is very boring minus one of the Mandalorian episodes. The cameo filled messes are becoming too much.

Scenery yay, rest nay. The whole newish star wars universe series all follow a very similar recipe. Not many surprises, no good dialogues and no courage for trying something of the completely worn out path...

every minute of this series is golden. i love that. every minute of this series is golden. i love that.

It seems that the writers did not really knew what to do with Boba Fett and it showed too often. The action scenes, while perfectly serviceable, were comparatively average. Boba Fett, Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen deserved better than this ultimately middling effort. Was it something entertaining and fun to watch once a week for 35-50 minutes though? Yes, for sure. But sadly nothing more.
