great characters, great actors, amazing dialogues. funny and deeply sad at the same time.

the cast was doing a really good job. but what can great actors do if the plot is shallow, uninspired and absolutely foreseeable...

Season 1 was intriguing. From there it just gets more and more boring with each season. Only small bits of the mystery are revealed and the story gets stuck in side stories. Just learned about the "The Chris Carter Effect" which really matches "From" and probably "From" will have a brilliant end like "Lost", or even none at all. Uneducated guess: they are in a kind of hell.

Season 1 was really good. In season 2 the story is just dragging along. There are two more seasons to come and then the series will end. This gives me hope because with a foreseeable end producers and writers might put more content and plot in the remaining time without trying to stretch it out...

starts slowly, gets better but to the end they really fail bringing it all together in a clever/intriguing way - pity!

They tried being game of thrones (intrigues etc.) and fail badly. Story would have had potential (more worldbuilding, less court life). The characters are quite flat and the teenage high-schoolish drama/sex is annoying. Visuals are mostly good.

Female characters in the first episode are terribly over-makeup'ed. Facial expressions of the main character are not convincing, might be due to too much botox. Plot holes, bad dialogues, stereotypish teenager outsiders... Barely made it through the first episode

costume drama with dragons... nice setting but boring and slow plot and dialogues with no mysteries and no secrets to be revealed. huge urge to skip through many scenes of the 2nd episode

season 1 was very good, season 2 stil good. They should have stopped after that. The main point of the story was told at that point and the characters and their relation clear...could only go down the hill which it absolutely does. Stopped S4 after 2 episodes.

Scenery yay, rest nay. The whole newish star wars universe series all follow a very similar recipe. Not many surprises, no good dialogues and no courage for trying something of the completely worn out path...

Scenery superb! Dialogues and plot devastating. All in all really boring, no relevant surprises at all.

I don't play computer games so no idea about halo the game. I thought to just watch episode 1 to see the CGI but I actually really liked the series. Complex characters, character development, good dialogues, no shallow and embarrassing humor as it is common in most marvel stuff. Waiting for 2nd season.

OMG! In german there is a word called "Fremdscham" which means to feel ashamed on someone else's behalf. Being overwhelmed by this feeling I had to stop watching after 20 minutes of the first episode.

I didn't read the books, so no expectations from that side. The younger characters act like stubborn teenagers most of the time and character building is mostly based on serving clichés. The world building is a catastrophe and the **** boy...most magic used is "plot magic" and there is a lot of it.

The setting is very promising. Unfortunately the whole series gets eaten up by giant plot holes. In retrospective after having watched the whole season it makes not much sense how some of the characters acted all along.

didn't like season 1 that much, but I cancelled season 2 after one episode. The dialogues are SO bad, the music overdramatic and non subtile, the actors not really good and the characters are decals...

they should have discontinued the series after the 2nd season. s03 was already bad but s04 and s05 are horrible. in season5 all characters are just sterotypes and there is no real overarching plot, just many loosely connected plotlines...waste of time

Many of the dialogues are "explaining dialogues" which (re)explain what just or shortly before happend - not that the story is that complicated ;). The roles of the crew members are archetypes and non intruiging. I've read that the series is made by the same people as discovery, which explains a lot. SFX and scenery are superb, dialogues and characters less than mediocre. To early to tell about the plotline (episode 4 atm), let's hope the story doens't get eaten up by plot holes as discovery was.

The story is not so interesting and unfortunaltely most of the strong non-male characters are loosing momentum in this season. Room for impovement in the next season.

Season two starts a bit slow but then picks up the pace and really has brilliant episodes.

Convincing, intelligent dialogues, authentic and not over-styled characters.

Season 1 was worth watching. In season 2 the characters loose their credibility and the story just trickles away. Almost everything is over dramatic (scenery, light, music, colors) and nearly everything triggers a flashback showing family, harmony and better life. You miss nothing if you finish with the end of season 1.

there have been some really good remakes (e. g. Battlestar Galactica), this is not one of them. one point for not being racist or sexist.

I watched the "linear" version from HBPO, not the app version. Good acting, interesting ambivalent and contradicting characters and interesting not off the shelf storytelling.

In my opinion is this season the weakest of the first 4 seasons. The plots of the episodes are not very intriguing.

The pictures are nice and (not having read the book) many aspects of the story would have given great opportunity to ask interesting questions but are only touched slightly. Unfortunately the series focuses on fighting scenes, torture scenes and naked or scantily dressed women. Overall the image of women in the series is devastating. There is not really a strong female character (if then only for a short amount of time, before their strength gets negated again) but women are beeing humiliated (very often half or completely naked) seems to be a main topic of the series. So I was kinda suprised finding out that the series was not created by a male... but as jews can be antisemites, women can be sexistic and antiemancipatoric.

Humor like the one in the "American Pie" movieS - not my kind (anymore; I've to admit that in the age of 16 I found that funny). Plot not very innovative. I only watched the first two episodes.

the story aims for 14-16 years old viewers and the actors are chosen accordingly. no surprises, the story has already been told uncountable times, often better. I only viewed the first two episodes and quitted..

After 6 Episodes, I have to say, that "The Orville" is the better "Start Trek Discovery". Les plot holes, intelligent dialoges, authentic characters and better questions raised in the episodes.
