This anthology series serves as a terrific showcase for today's masters of anime, brought together to tell disparate tales within the Star Wars universe. Some are pinnacles of the art form, others are merely entertaining, and a few are downright bizarre. Watching the series is like attending an animation festival in that you never know what you're going to experience next.

Star Wars: Visions is a pretty good anthology series with uneven, but mostly good quality. The first volume has my favourite episodes, but it also has my leadt favourite Star Wars stories as well. Volume two is something I liked more, because it had no episodes I hated, but had one outstanding one. Volume 3 didn't have any of those. If the show returns for a 4th season, I hope it's going to be the quality of the first two both in terms of story and animation.

The best thing about Star Wars: Visions is how boldly it steps away from the usual formula. Instead of retracing familiar paths, it dives headfirst into telling stories from new angles, with complete creative freedom. Each episode is a small animated capsule filled with personality, style, and risk. Watching how different studios interpret the Force, the Sith, or the Jedi—each from their own cultural background—is not only refreshing, it feels essential to keeping the franchise alive. The animation is stunning throughout: from clean, elegant lines to the wildest designs, everything stands **** every chapter lands equally well, but even the weakest ones include strong moments and striking visuals. As a whole, this is an anthology that celebrates creative freedom and love for a galaxy that still has so much more to offer beyond canon. Visions is not just a breath of fresh air; it’s a love letter to the saga, told from corners of the world that rarely get a voice in productions of this scale.

Great short stories, interesting animation motifs. It would be more interesting if all the characters had an expanded storyline :D

What a brave but innovative move from Disney. The potential of the star wars universe is so big. This project underlines it. There are some awesome and some weaker episodes, but I really liled it overall.

It is very hard for me to assign a single score to the entire "Star Wars: Visions" series, because I absolutely hated 90% of it. But that 10% that I liked was amazing. So, my note on "Star Wars: Visions" is that the first episode is an absolute must watch for any non-kid Star Wars fan, since it does have some pretty graphic violence. I loved how it tried to broaden what Star Wars can look like, visually. It wasn't just more desert or sand planets. The second episode was fun enough that you could give it a try, but whatever you do, stop there. Every other episode in this series is a total dud. They are not even worth the 10 minute run time to check out. I give it an A, make a point to see the first episode, but stop there.

Unfortunately, the large majority of the episode are flat-out boring and unenjoyable. A handful of them 'save' the series though. I've watched the first 6 episodes and can only highly recommend the 3rd. 1, 2, and 5 are passable, but nothing I think I'd ever watch more than once.

Star Wars: Visions is Amazing!!! Each chapter is terrific and also explores things that the canon timeline didn't.

Very disappointing. It feels like the studios were given the go-ahead to use certain elements that are present in SW, such as lightsabers, sfx, and catch-phrases, but they were prevented from using any content which could be in any way construed as canon. As a result, these tales feel extremely distanced from anything that "feels" like Star Wars. There is no SW music present, and very few characters or alien species that we know. Instead we get super stylized astroboy style droids and jedis that do too much talking or are fighting in outer space??? The last chapter felt a bit like "Tales of the Jedi" comics from the 90s and was my fav of the bunch, but most of the others really fell flat. Both "Star Wars Tales" and "From a Certain Point of View" were far better stort story anthologies, most likely because they had far more oversight given to them. Some of the animation on display is quite good, but the stories and characters were uninspiring for me at least.

Absolutely amazing. Some episodes are definitely better than others, but the best ones are incredible, some even worth a full series.

Some of these people giving 10/10s are straight up lying. andrxwlee writes "Every episode is incredibly interesting and explores otherwise never seen Star Wars stories." One of the episodes is a 13 minute rip-off of Anakin's turn to the darkside. First episode is good, the rest range anywhere from average to really, really bad. People get murdered by multiple lightsabers just to be like "na I'm good" moments later, like seriously WTF?? This happens more than once!

This is the best Star Wars content since The Clone Wars and while there are many anime tropes and a few of the shorts don't quite work, the vast majority breathe new life into Star Wars with a unique style.

It is an amazing idea to let Japanese animation studios produce their own Star Wars stories and it works well. They got me with the first episode and they put heart and soul into everything. I watched the season in one sitting and say the force is strong here. It is as expected a mixture of Japanese culture aka anime, Samurai movies, style, tropes and ideas included into Star Wars. There is already an overlap as Samurai and Jedi are similar (Codex, lifelong training, great warriors, can fall to the dark side etc.) Before anyone mentions it: I know that most Jedi are not fighters but those are rarely shown in the movies, series and books (If you don't believe me just look up the agricultural corps, medical corps and diplomatic corps of the Jedi Order). Just as remark for the Show: The episodes are out of continuity or at least hard to pinpoint and hardcore fans should find some errors but this was never the point. It is about telling compelling stories, use ideas and connect this with the studios. I think I give an overview about the episodes: “The Duel” is inspired by “The seven Samurai” and an amazing start. Well paced, amazing style and impressive characters. Highlight of the show and worth continuing. “Tatooine Rhapsody” is unlike everything I expected and works quite well. I wont spoil anything and just say the episode rocks ;-). “The Twins” has great action, interesting ideas and 2 likable characters with the twins. Also good philosophical dilemma. “The ninth Jedi” has a great story, great characters, surprises and I hope they continue the story as I see great potential here. Easily another highlight. “T0-B1” This is charming and warms your heart. I was reminded of Astro Boy and Pinocchio. Good idea, main character and optimistic outlook. “The Elder” shows an adventure that has a meaningful lesson. Be it for a Jedi, Padawan or the viewer. “Lop and Ocho” is again something I want to see more of. Great lovable, characters, moral dilemma and emotions. Another highlight. “Akakiri” is like a Samurai drama and I am amazed that they pulled this of. This was awesome ride and I was deeply impressed. Many of these episodes are so good that I want to see more of the characters and how their stories progress. Even the episodes that are not my favorites have hearth and soul put into. Visually the style is excellent and truly a strength. Overall I give a 10/10 and say it was refreshing and amazing. We need more like this and I recommend it for fans of Star Wars, Japanese movies / culture and maybe even non fans.

For something that I've often heard marketed as "the Animatrix of Star Wars", it has none of the unique and compelling qualities that other animated shorts are able to put forward. In fact, considering the safe and by-the-book nature of these anime (which are visually quite boring for the most part), a lot of fan-made material out there actually showcases way more originality than what this series presents. Not insultingly bad; just all and all very average once we're past the first episode. Disney's Lucasfilm is simply continuing its trend of producing uninspired content despite having virtually unlimited budget and creative power. Move along, move along.

Very hit and miss, with no care to keep the anthology series coherent in any way other than it is loosely based off of Star Wars. The stories, characters, target age, and art styles are all over the place. Many 'episodes' are kid-centric, while a few like the first are more adult, not sure of whom they are targeting and not capable of pleasing both at the same time. With most of the nine 'episodes' being very short, this smacks of just wanting anything to fill in the missing blanks of not having enough new content (aka the Netflix effect).
