Space Cadet is incredibly funny, but it’s also about someone pursuing a life she thought she’d missed out on, and finding her own strengths when she feels like she can’t measure up.

Within the framework of grueling training exercises that never seem quite as difficult as the movie tries to make them sound, Space Cadet has some dumb fun. It pushes its luck big time when it moves into a hasty Armageddon knockoff that this movie has neither the budget nor the gravity to pull off.

IN A NUTSHELL:
The goofy story is about Rex, a Florida party girl, who turns out to be the only hope for the NASA space program after a fluke puts her in training with other candidates who may have better resumes, but don’t have her smarts, heart, or moxie.
The film was directed and written by Liz W. Garcia. THINGS I LIKED:
I really liked Emma Roberts in this. It was a great role for her.
The rest of the cast includes a lot of women who are supposed to be better than the men in the film. So, what else is new? That describes just about every movie nowadays. The list includes Poppy Liu, Gabrielle Union, Kuhoo Verma, Desi Lydic, Dave Foley, the handsome Tom Hopper, and many more.
The movie features a high school reunion. Have you been to one? They can be really fun and inspiring or else make you feel like you haven’t done anything with your life.
Fun fact: The dormitory is the Ryan Stone Dormitory. Ryan Stone was the name of Sandra Bullock’s character in the movie Gravity. Did you see that movie? I got dizzy watching it but I loved the ending.
The soundtrack is a lot of fun.I love slow-motion astronaut walking sequences.
The title is perfect with double meaning.
The ideal target audience for this movie is 9 – 13-year-old girls. THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE:
Rex seemed normal at the beginning of the movie and then suddenly turned into a crazy, wild girl once she got to NASA.
The film has an error in it when they refer to meteors as meteorites.
As if NASA wouldn’t have thoroughly researched all of the astronaut candidates.
All of the characters are super over-the-top.
So, is the lesson to lie your way to your dream?
There’s a terrible musical number when the leading actors sing karaoke together.
There is a green screen moment that is pretty obvious.
Super predictable.
If you’re looking for something realistic, keep looking. TIPS FOR PARENTS:
We see women wearing skimpy clothes

Profanity, including an F-bomb

Thought it wasn't too bad, it's overly silly and the modern shine doesn't really fit the setting. But the performance and comedy is consistent for the universe they built.

Space Cadet wraps itself in the trappings of a female empowerment story, but it actually celebrates using deception and taking shortcuts. Rex Simpson is no Elle Woods, and this story is more “Illegal, Need Bond” than “Legally Blonde.”

I would be lower but am passing it as a fun cute but extremely cheesy flick to pass the time. I mean, is not the best but at least the movie passes as a jab and entertains the idea of imitating the movie Legally Blonde but someone that wants to be an Astronut instead of a lawyer but legally blonde is a way better movie. Both girls are different, want to get in to a place where there will be friction, in this movie she lies compared to the other one and sets everything in a bad formula... either way, both tried to work hard to get where they want to be. Also both are smart in their own way but at least Legally Blonde have a better flow on how the main protagonist reaches to the end, here is portrayed in a cheesy way but also quicker way and a weird flow for the character growth even so the movie in Space Cadet the main character do have a strong base on who she is and that she is handy with stuff and have a set of skills even she is a goof but it sets her apart and is intelligent but in her own way and how she learns still doesn't give much strong base for the character. Also the movie in general is somewhat shallow and looks like it was rushed. In which it could easily be way below average 3 out of 10 due to many lack of attention to details in the movie.

Só pelo carisma da protagonista mesmo, e por ter alguma pincelada sobre a necessidade de diversidade do trabalho em equipe, mas todo o resto é grosseiro, ingênuo, infantil, tolo. E pra piorar, não funciona como comédia, com algumas falas que tornam mulheres e negros um pé no saco ao inserir o discurso político de forma nada natural. Filmes como Apollo 11 1/2 conseguem trabalhar a temática do espaço de forma juvenil e sem tratar os espectadores como idiotas.

Watching Space Cadet made me "cringe" during every second of this film. I would rather do anything, instead of watching this joke of a movie.
