A relatively breezy and slick slice of entertainment, with a fast-pace style befitting the material and expertly calibrated performances from the ensemble cast.

Still, Silk Road remains watchable because both Robinson and Clarke are interesting screen presences. And there’s some humor, which consistently lands better than the thrills.

Well done, was drawn in by the characters and felt the execution was satisfying. Loved that we weren't railed into feeling that one side was right or wrong, allows us to make our own decisions

Silk Road has the makings of a gripping thriller, but it surprisingly lacks the tension required for it to work.

Writer/director Tiller Russell doesn't directly ask us to take a side in Silk Road, a dramatization of the creation and downfall of the eponymous darknet website. But the implications of which side the filmmaker wants us to lean toward are strong—and feel a bit disingenuous.

A fervently topical, at times intriguing, but ultimately rather sketchy drama about the online black market.

In many respects, Silk Road is an excellent examination of why you should probably never date, or maybe even socialize with, a libertarian. It comes up short in almost every other way, though.

The actual story of the Silk Road is amazing and fantastical
This film is an extremely poor execution. Really disappointing as there was so much content they could have worked with. Sadly the product is a poorly acted, poorly directed, rather boring movie.

The Silk Road (film) fails to present the incredibly gripping story of the actual silk road to the audience. The makers of the film took innumerable wrong decisions and the result is a story that moves too fast to show the magnitude of the events they attempt to portray on screen. It comes off as arrogant and amateurish to modify the facts of the story for no real value to the movie plot. I recommend you skip the movie altogether and either read about the actual Silk Road or wait for a decent adaptation in the future.

This movie is missing damn near all of the things that made this story so compelling, taking the path of least resistance while leaving out some of the most influential people involved. Variety Jones is MIA…who highly influenced everything from the hit on Green to the expansion of the site. Ross’s travels to lay low are gone, even how he started everything from a dingy rented room growing mushrooms to get a small start on the drug inventory. Go read American Kingpin, and if reading is not your thing wait for something better to come out. People eat true crime up now days so you know it’s coming.
