A decent enough follow up the first film, although not as accomplished. The acting and direction are ok, as is the CGI, although it felt like it had moved into 'the walking dead' territory. I liked it and would watch it again!

The plot becomes more complicated than the previous chapter. It does not present any particular sharp points but it is presented as a transition film between the first and the final chapter. Perhaps the first part is slightly hasty where the reasons that lead to the rebellion of the protagonists could have been better expressed

I was really surprised at the quality in "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials". I fully expected it to just exude cheap, but the effects and action sequences were fun, with the exception of some lame CG creatures in one scene. I'm not entirely sold on the young actors, but the more established ones were great.

This can be watched as fast paced action sci-fi movie, but it also does have some layers & deeper meaning. The questions it puts foward are not new ones, but still important ones'. Individual freedom vs the needs of the collective? How far should humanity go to survive? Even if at the cost of it's humanity? I did enjoy this straight forward morality tale for sure with all the cool visuals & tense action scenes.

"The Maze Scorch Trials" is a captivating film that successfully combines suspense and action. The well-developed characters, coupled with the unpredictable plot twists, keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The seamless integration of special effects adds an extra layer of excitement to the gripping narrative. Overall, it's a thrilling cinematic experience that leaves a lasting impression.

Taki trochę Mad Max wymieszany z formułą biegania przed siebie cały czas. Trochę głupich wątków, fajne postapo, brak wielu motywacji i ogólnie średnie wykonanie

They ditched everything the first movie had going for a generic zombie movie? I know it happens in the books but this is just lame.

I enjoyed the first part and was excited for the sequel. Now, I haven't read the books but I was expecting new maze games in sequel not some escape adventure type story. It still was entertaining but not fun to watch like the first part. The direction, story and acting was not that strong but I think it's okay for these type of movies to be like this. Overall, you can give it a try.

After the success of the first film, the sequel was expected. And I was pleased to see it, as the first film leaves everything open and raises our curiosity for what comes next. In this film, Thomas, Teresa and the boys from the labyrinth goes to a place where there are other young people, from other labyrinths that apparently existed elsewhere. However, it is evident right from the start that the place belongs to the terrible medical organization that had kept them trapped in the maze. After they manage to escape, they discover themselves in a ruined, arid and devastated world, where the only human beings who are there are sick and maddened zombie creatures. The film is a good sequel and rises to the level of the previous film. The only thing that disappointed me was really seeing that the sick humans were similar to the living dead of a thousand and one films and series like "Walking Dead", for example. I expected something different. In any case, it was not unpleasant and allows for good action scenes and runs amid the ruins. The plot twist near the end is intense, unexpected and in fact allows for a very well done finish. The pace of the film is pleasant too. The film has a very good cast, and maintains the hard core of the previous film, as it had to be. Dylan O’Brian remains a good protagonist and does a very safe job. Scodelario received better material and her character was much more developed in this film, which allowed the actress to do a more interesting job. The love interest of O’Brian and Scodelario’s characters is developed and credible. Ki Hong Lee and Thomas Brodie-Sangster also do a very good job on this film. Giancarlo Esposito is a welcome addition. Rosa Salazar is more effective as an action figure than in the inglorious task of making a love triangle with Scodelario and O'Brian, where she fails miserably. Patricia Clarkson is a weak and uninteresting villain, although she tries to look bad. Aidan Gillen was more effective in this task. The film has excellent production values and there is a lot of money tied up in high quality CGI that makes the whole world look like a deserted, inhospitable, poisoned and ruined place. Infected human creatures, as I said, are the least positive thing in the film, as we have seen better zombies in other films, where it is clear and assumed to be zombies. The film has excellent cinematography, is visually magnificent and makes the most of light and colors. However, it is darker than the first film. The soundtrack also deserves mention. Composed by John Paesano, whom I did not know, it is an intense soundtrack, with an epic and deep sense.

Wow what was i aMAZEd when i saw part 1! How intriguing the Maze. But all that vanished when i saw the first 20 minutes of part 2. The flic is not bad. Very good actors, but the plot became SO so so - bland. The magic of part 1 totally gone.

Not a bad movie but nothing especially creative or exciting going on. I haven’t read these novels but I would hope the story is more thought out and interesting than this. Some of the performances are good but it’s really inconsistent.

Fairly Underwhelming Though it certainly has it's pros that while slightly outweigh the negative, Scortch Trials is only okay sadly and could’ve and should’ve been better.

The plot of this movie was such an incoherent mess. For a 2 hour film, There were a lot of annoying cuts that seemed to skip sections of the plot at a time. For instance, There was a part where they're about to get stuck in a storm and are seeking shelter, It then immediately cuts to the following day with the group just chilling on the ground. Another example is he gets drunk, has flashbacks in a club and wakes up to the club empty, reunited with his friends and seeing the host of the club getting beaten. Those examples show to me that the writer obviously had no clue what the heck he was doing when adapting this book and it shows. His poor writing really helped ruin this movie.

It's an action-packed sequel that does provide some thrills. Unfortunately, it doesn't top its predecessor, which offered more mystery, emotion and excitement.

"Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" was a decent movie, although the characters were developing well, the story was medium, even though the stage is good, the introduction of zombies in the film is somewhat misplaced, and the end was disappointing, but it does not affect anything in the story.

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is a good continuation on the first movie. It is a lot different than the first; exploring new locations, plot lines, and characters. It is predictable at times, but has great action and performances that keep the movie entertaining throughout.

Wes Ball's Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is a very exciting second installment in this trilogy. Newt, Minho, and Thomas were once again my favorite characters and the action sequences were once again gritty, awesome, and very exciting. This film also has some really good cinematography and visual effects. My only complaint is really the same complaint that I had with the last film; lack of character development and some hard to overlook cliches. In the end, I found this movie to be just as good as the first film and maybe a bit better in some places.

I liked the first movie but this one was really boring. I forced myself to watch it till the end. The major problem for me was the lack of character and history development. This movie is just filled with action and there is no depth at all.

The Scorch Trials is a fun and very entertaining movie that, if is not overanalyzed, is amply entertaining, it is true that it has some bumps and mistakes, but its rhythm is agile and commendable if you ignore the little that explains its plot.

I enjoyed second movie much more than the first one. It had more action, different settings, much more dynamic to it, while the first one wasn't that interesting for most part as it just involved a maze and they tried to avoid the traps in it and then a group escaped - the ending was interesting in first one, but that's about it. Here I enjoyed it a bit more, even though not sure why they called the whole franchise Maze Runner. Anyway, decent movie, nothing unbelievably spectacular, but I did enjoy it.

The Maze Runner trilogy was one of the best book series I've read since the Hunger Games, but unlike the Hunger games, the transition to the big screen has not been an easy one. The first film in the series, was nothing like the book, as it completely failed to demonstrate the comradery among the boys, as well as eliminating key elements from the story. Apparently, I wasn't the only one who noticed this, as The Scorch Trials made sure the same mistakes didn't happen twice. Of course the same elements that were ignored in the first film had to still be excluded for the sake of continuity, but the rest of the film was dead on. In the second film, the boys learn that their rescue was only short lived, as they are still under the control of Wicked, and are about to face their second test. The group is to be dropped into the most unforgiving part of the earth, a place where the disease runs rampant, and cranks are everywhere, the Scorch. If they can survive the Scorch, the boys will have a better idea of what they are up against, and Wicked may just be able to get what they need from them to finally find a cure, that is if they make it to the end. Unlike the first film, Dylan O'Brian finally embraces the leadership role that Thomas is supposed to play in the series, and gives the film the hero to root for that it was sorely lacking. The additions of Jacob Lofland and Rosa Salazar further move the story along, as the film starts to pursue the side angles much in a way the novels did, something the first film also ignored. The narrow focus of the first film, combined with it's rushed nature, and missing elements, made it seem like a cliff notes version of otherwise terrific novel. The sequel however takes the time to properly tell the story, explore the angles, and was much closer to the original story. If you're not a reader and you were turned off by the first film, I don't blame you, but give the sequel a chance, it's a much more accurate depiction of the story.

A combination of unconvincing acting and some pitifully simple and unimaginative script writing **** the life out the potentially great scenes in this movie. Its a shame because a lot of the cinematography was engaging. It all amounted to be a spectacular cheesefest.

This is a well made movie that's well above most YA films, and it starts out extremely well, but at a certain point a decent amount of time in, the story begins to grow tedious. The action scenes are very exciting, and the young actors, especially the lead, give very good performances, but the plot turns generic and loses its sense of mystery. The first movie also deflated in this way but not until the very end. It kept its sense of originality most of the way through. So what we're left with is a passable movie that's not as good as its predecessor. Worth seeing at least once, but hopefully the next one will be better.

Brutally boring. Genuinely uninteresting. Cardboard cutouts as "actors." Uninspired, generic post-apocalyptic costume design. And a plot so abysmally convoluted, it makes the Phantom Menace look like a masterpiece. A painful experience all around. How this got green lit is a marvel.

Not only is it a shocking (and welcome) change of pace from the first movie, but it's also a nice deviation from the typical YA-book-turned-movie scenario. The expected themes are in play, but "The Scorch Trials" does enough unique to make it stand out from the ever growing pack of these kind of movies. For all intents and purposes it's a post-apocalyptic zombie movie. Surprising, considering the first fit into the standard sci-fi mold similar to Hunger Games, Divergent, and The Giver. The only thing it really had going in it's favor was a darker overall tone. Here though it defies expectations. It's got thrilling action and the characters have been much improved. For starters our lead Dylan O'Brien is much more likable this time around. The supporting cast is just as charming as ever, with the standout once again being Ki Hong Lee as Minho. Plenty of twists and new character developments take place, with more of the mystery of the overall plot being revealed along the way. The new characters fit right in. So perhaps the whole zombie apocalypse thing isn't exactly a new idea, but it's a nice enough change of pace to allow this Maze Runner sequel to break away from the standard YA novel movie mold. It's a heck of a lot of fun, a huge improvement over it's predecessor, and has left me impatiently waiting for the next one. As a result, my total score for the movie is a near-perfect score of 9.9/10. An excellent movie all around. One that's worth watching even this genre is beginning to grate on your nerves at this point. Just keep in mind the first is basically required to understand what's going on here.

The Maze Runner is a film that was filled with action, adventure, and friendship. It shows the true meaning of a friend. With the Scorched Trials being the middle movie of a trilogy it does leave us with many questions that we can only hope will be answered in the final movie.

I'm one of the biggest fans of the books and I was so excited to see the movies because I'm an even bigger movie fan. The first movie was very disappointing,, but the second movie is awesome, it's far from the book again, but this time it's good. The characters are awesome yet again and the story is good again. A lot of people don't like this movie and I don't understand why because it is action packed and it's so awesome. I can't wait to see The Death Cure and hopefully The Kill Order.

The Maze Runner was decent despite it being rather incoherent. This movie is just plain boring and generic. The characters are completely forgettable. The movie had its lively moments, but as a series this is a major step down.

The adventure expands outside the maze to seek the answers. Another teen movie in the mid series on the line of 'Divergent' and 'Hunger Games'. As an adult, I don't know what to expect from it, but entertainment was the priority. The first film was just an introduction that happened in a small and a single location like the film 'Cube'. Now it has outspread in a large extent with more new characters and takes a wider adventure in the wastelands. Many doubts from the previous film were cleared, yet a few need to be clarified and hoping for the next one to do that job. But anyway the suspense was this franchise's specialty, that simply reminds us the TV series 'Lost'. This second part can be compared with plenty of other post apocalyptic films, but still I liked it better than the first. The best thing was they retained the same director and he's going to be here for the next film as well. But I'm more interested in the prequel, I mean the fourth film than the third which brings an end to the story moving forward. Because the maze holds the key for many unresolved issues. So I'm anticipating the prequel trilogy than the current one to learn how it all began. Surprisingly, many new additions like zombies, bounty hunters in the mainstream boosted the film with its variety. Gives us a creepy atmosphere, along thrilling running and chasing. The twist was not that great, but kind of unpredictable, and again due to the mysteries surrounding it, it created more curious about what might happen next. 6½/10

Im surprised that people are only focusing on the zombies part when there's more to the story. The movie tugs at your heart. It involves you into the story making one feel what the characters feel. The struggle they go through just to survive, the feeling of always running, in a way is relatable. Also the "zombies" implemented are not like the stereotypical kind you find in your generic horror movie. They are depicted in a different but unique way.
