I was a big fan of Guardians of the Galaxy. But after watching how the trilogy ended I'm no longer a fan. I went out by myself to see this and 60 min in I started regretting it. This movie was so bad it has stopped me from going to the theater by myself again.

The soundtrack choices, from *Dog Days Are Over* to the full-circle return of *Come and Get Your Love*, provide the perfect emotional closure. And that final command from Rocket to the new team? Just one word: "Speak." It was the perfect ending to a perfect trilogy.

The absolute dumbest, most ridiculous MCU betrayal in cinematic history is whatever this is. I said James Gunn was pulling out every trick in the bag - well he must have used them all up because this one had NOTHING! They really should have left well-enough alone and not tarnished the reputation that GotG had. I will be forever disappointed that this volume finally lived up to all of my eternal disappointment in James Gunn.

What a great film! Full of fun and action, all delivered through decent acting and direction. Top notch CGI. Good origin story for Rocket thrown in. I laughed out loud loads of times! I really enjoyed it and would definitely watch it again!

It's a great film. It's a good story that concludes the trilogy well. It has a great emotional aspect and, once again, a good sense of humor.

One of my favourite films ever. So funny, so heartfelt, so incredible, James Gunn really cooked with this. It was easily the best way the truly perfect Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy could end off. It's kinda crazy that this film somehow feels nostalgic to me even though it only. came out two years ago.

As some criticize the third one for many absolutely delusional reasons as they never saw a CBM before because anyone with a normal working brain knows that this is the greatest CBM in history and it is an absolute must watch. We go through the story of rocket racoon and see how painful traumatic experiments were done to him as a cute baby racoon breaks my heart melts my soul and the journey of him becoming a core member of the GOTG is truly mesmarizing and is the greatest story in CBM history. what can i say james nails every movie and story he tells!! Absolute Perfection 10/10

Without Rocket’s origin story this would be extremely shallow. His entire arc brings a sense of scope to the madness, the others (Drax) being nothing to the table

This is the worst film in the series so far. It's really annoying that Marvel mixing characters and timeline from other movies which ruins the storylines of the individual movie. When I want to watch Spider-Man, I want to see Spider-Man only, not Iron Man. Otherwise I would watch Iron Man. The same goes for Guardians of the Galaxy. It makes no sense for this film to suddenly be influenced by events from different movies. It seems like Marvel expects everyone to watch all of their films just to fully understand what's going on. Thy not simply continued the story right after the second one. Nobody would have had a problem with that. And that all, just because of the conflict between Disney and Gunn. I used to really enjoy this series, but the third part just didn't work for me. I do hope at least a new game comes out, because the last one was much better than this movie.

The third Guardians of the Galaxy movie was the lone exception to a dumpster fire Phase 5 of the MCU. I applaud James Gunn and the cast for completing an excellent trilogy with characters we have all grown to love. The High Evolutionary was a classic Marvel villain and the story was moving and fun. Congrats on the best three movie series since those of Captain America. If Kevin Feige needs a template for how to revive the MCU, he should look to this series. Stick to competent script writing based in comic book folklore and away from stupid social-political topics and girlboss nonsense. Do it the way they did it here, the right way!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was the perfect conclusion to the trilogy. One of the things I loved is that it felt like that: the conclusion to its own trilogy as opposed to another entry in a long-running story like the third Ant-Man or Captain America. This movie took everything great about the first two movies and improved on it. As the conclusion to the trilogy, the movie gave satisfying, well-earned closure to each of our main characters. Each character had their own arc in the film (a feat that can be hard to accomplish in an ensemble movie like this) that fit with what we’ve seen before, felt like a natural progression, and went to a fulfilling place. Not only that, but the arcs are intertwined in a way that doesn’t leave the movie feeling messy.Anyone who saw this movie’s trailers or poster releases could tell that Rocket was going to get a spotlight in this movie, but we couldn’t have predicted how well-earned that spotlight would be. Rocket really shines in this movie in a way that makes him feel more like the star of the show than Star-Lord (although Star-Lord gets plenty of time to shine, too). As anyone familiar with the series would expect, the soundtrack of the movie was excellent. James Gunn has a talent for choosing songs that really fit the tone of the story/scene and including them in a way that feels natural. The way he transitions songs playing in-story into the soundtrack is especially notable. The cinematography in this movie was excellent. More often than not, you only notice the cinematography if it's bad. When cinematography is good, you become immersed in the movie and tend not to notice it. However, sometimes a movie has cinematography so good that you can’t help but notice and appreciate it. That was how I felt during this movie. There were more than a few moments where I was taken aback by a particular shot. Of course, no Marvel movie would be complete without humor, but James Gunn reminds us that he was the one that really started that trend in the first Guardians. A lot of Marvel movies have a big problem with undercutting serious moments or scenes with humor, but this movie doesn’t really have that issue. The movie finds an incredible balance between humor and sincerity that allows the sincere moments to be sincere and create an opening for humor. The humor and sincerity work together rather than combatting one another. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was not just a great Marvel movie or a great sequel, but a great movie. My only complaint is that the high bar this movie sets makes some other recent Marvel movies look worse than they already did by comparison.

This amazing family film can be watched with friends and family alike. This movie can lead to men, women, and children in tears alike. Solving a major mystery for one of the guardians of the galaxies backstories this movie is a tearjerker yet a good feel movie that will make you feel happy for having watched the movie.

A film with a pleasant and different plot compared to the previous chapters, although it does not have great highlights and seems like any episode dedicated to the Guardians of the Galaxy saga. However, it offers some appreciable innovations and fits well into the main Marvel genre.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is unexpectedly heart-breaking. The story feels fresh and the cinematography is great. The character development is incredible. I love that we got to see Rocket's origin story and it is gut-wrenching. This was the most depressing MCU movie since Avengers: Endgame or Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Peter-Gamora relationship is interesting. The themes of family, facing your fears are great. The dialogues are outstanding in Marvel standards, Drax and Matnis' interactions are priceless. Even Kraglin had an arc in the movie, which was predictable, but enjoyable to watch. The story is intriguing, very character driven, which is rare in the MCU. The villain has his reasons, but I think they're weak. Not the best in the franchise, but definitely not the worst. The cinematography is especially great with a lot of long or spinning shots, I loved it. Although I think the movie could've been a little shorter. The visual effects are amazing, with wonderful production design. The casting is great, even though I think a bigger name for the villain would've helped the movie more. The acting performances are spectacular, especially Bradley Cooper and Sean Gunn as Rocket. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 could be the best MCU movie if it had a better villain and a little shorter runtime.

En route to the screen, this concluding chapter of the GotG trilogy experienced a few bumps in the road, both onstage and behind the scenes. When writer/director James Gunn was ousted, then eventually reinstated following threats of a cast mutiny, the film suffered a long delay and the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe carried on without it. While the crew appeared briefly in Thor: Blood and Thunder, having adopted the Asgardian at the end of Avengers: Endgame, their alliance was brief and inconsequential; a pointless excursion that left a lot on the table. Gunn claims none of his drafts featured Thor to begin with, but it does feel like something’s missing here and I wonder if he might be telling white lies to toe the company line. The star of Volume 3 is Rocket, whose tragic back story is pieced together via flashbacks while he lay dying and the other Guardians race to find a cure. Leaving the team’s vocal cynic silent for most of the film hurts their rapport, and that’s not the only new variable at play. In the years since the team's plucky second adventure, Star Lord and Gamora have also undergone dramatic personality changes, further altering the group’s chemistry. Drax, Mantis and Groot are still familiar, as is Nebula, but their expanded roles aren’t enough to compensate for the sudden vacuum at the top, nor to negate so many reheated story beats from the second film. Rocket’s origin can be potent, but it's easily boiled down to a familiar message: friends are the family you choose for yourself. That’s a good note, a powerful point, but one Gunn & Co. already made, with a more satisfying resolution, in Volume 2 six years prior. Still, I’m happy to spend a little more time with this dysfunctional space crew, to bound around the colorful cosmos and probe the recesses of its author’s twisted imagination. There’s a good bit of that in Vol. 3, particularly when the gang bumps into Nathan Fillion aboard a grotesque ringed space station made of flash, hair and yellow pus. This franchise is at its best when it leans into the weird stuff, and I’ll take every bit I can get. The High Evolutionary, this month’s villainous flavor, is cut from the same cloth as Thanos - misguided but well-meaning - and his status as the eccentric maniac who’s left to his own devices by a universe that would much rather look the other way... well, that’s a unique metaphor, and one I’d have liked to see investigated with more vigor. Instead, he's quickly demoted into a sideshow and, as his power set falls several steps below the galactic level, he’s no match for the titular team when it comes time for a showdown. The musical cuts are excellent, as always, but less relevant to what we’re watching. This is more of a traditional soundtrack, one that's built to fit a cool cinematic composition rather than a rich emotional connection, and that’s a letdown in comparison to previous chapters. In fact, that comment applies across the board. I enjoyed pretty much everything, but not nearly as much as I did the first two times around the block.

Very good movie, it's been a long time I watched volume 2 and I had a lot of fun. The soundtrack is still insane!

We need to talk about Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, an extremely necessary film, one of the few good films of the post-Avengers: Endgame generation. First of all, I must immensely praise the work of director James Gunn and the actors, the film is very elaborate and has performances that make the audience move. Speaking of emotion, this was one of the films in which I was most moved, if I'm more specific in film categories, this was the most emotional superhero film I've ever watched. The story is magnificent, and as always in the films in this trilogy, the acting along with the script bring memorable scenes, both comical and serious. The ending of this film is very special... For me, one of the best superhero films, and what's more, the Guardians of the Galaxy film trilogy can be considered one of the best, if not the best superhero film trilogy . Congratulations to everyone involved, this film is a work of art in every aspect, design, sound effects, visual effects, characters, everything! Simply: Absolute Cinema!

The 3rd installment and final chapter of the James Gunn trilogy. GOTG was never a group that I cared about in the comics but Gunn has made me a fan of this group of dumb idiots. This movie isn't perfect, has a lot of questionable moments but as popcorn entertainment it was great. It had a bit of everything from comedy, action, emotional moments, friendships and good visuals. The performances and chemistry between each core Guardian was great and they do enough to make you care about each one of them. The VFX was great especially since 70% of the movie features alien/animal creatures. The villain was good (better than most MCU villains especially the recent Kang) but in typical Disney fashion his "evil" nature was nerfed a bit. He just came across as a crazy dude who yelled a lot. The music selection was good, not the best tracks but it works for this movie and does not annoy you . It matches the change of tones and emotion perfectly Adam Warlock: SUPER nerfed in this movie. Almost feels like they just added him so that the dude can finally get paid . He should have arrived much much earlier in the MCU timeline as he could have been erased from this movie and nobody would miss him. The constant back and forth between Rocket's backstory and current events was not bad but just keeps changing the tone of the movie. People online refer to it as giving you "whiplash" and I kind off agree. Would have loved a Disney+ mini series focusing on Rocket's backstory so we could have trimmed this movie down to about 2 hours and it would have still been really good. Overall it was a solid movie with a bit of everything. Marvel and comic fans should be happy , general audience should be entertained. It was long but I was never bored. Can you take your kids? If they are over 10 then yeah Do I need to watch the Christmas Special? Not necessary but it's really short so rather watch it as it builds on some relationships/friendships. Is there post credits: Yes 2 but if you really need to use the little boys and girls room it's okay to miss it. Is the MCU back? I don't know, this movie stood on it's own so we could be back to mediocre when the next movie arrives.

MEH, too much comedy. Really didn't think i was watching a superhero movie as compared to just a bunch of slapstick comedy.

It is a good movie, but there are some elements of violence and animal cruelty in it, which is disturbing.

It's definitely a good movie that tells a lot of stories, but it's possible that I saw the first two parts a long time ago, and I liked the third part the least. If you want to watch a movie for the evening and get a lot of pleasant emotions, you can watch one hundred percent

Taking in to consideration the previous films, this is a complete mess. The lack of continuity, this film is a mess. All i could think of as I watched was wtf is going on here. Straight up, this is **** on the previous films. It really is basically watch for the sake of watching. this is a joke on the original film.

MCU’s movies post-Endgame have been…Rough. And I doubt I’m the first person you’re hearing that from. While their output of products have gone up, I feel the quality assurance has kinda gone down- they’re just a lot more…Dull. And forgettable. Cookie cutter even. But in spite of that, I held out hope for Guardians, because I trusted James Gunn to bring it home. And damn did he. In my eyes, legitimately- Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is the best movie of the entire franchise, hands down. And that comes down to one thing- intention. At every moment, Gunn’s voice comes out clearly in the finished product- every shot, every joke, every set, it all feels intentional. Calculated. Important. There’s never any point when I watched this where I felt like he phoned it in- nothing here was forced. And the characters, GOD, the characters- the Guardians became fan favorites because of these movies and man…This felt like such a powerful, cathartic way to end their stories. THEY MADE ME CRY ABOUT THE CGI RACCOON, GUYS! Just, beyond a shadow of the doubt, Guardians 3 was great. It was everything I wanted with a final outing for these characters.

I thought it was generally good. I watched this movie a long time ago so I don't know what else to write. I wrote all of the above because I had to.

While the first half of the film was an absolute slog, the second half of the film almost redeems it. Rocket's flashbacks are the cream of the crop here. They are well done and emotionally gripping. However, this does little to detract from all the flaws of this film. It is far too long, and that may be what hurts it the most. The action sequences were fun and generic for this franchise, with some new twists. But the jokes fell flat. Instead of quirky humor and banter, it's replaced with drawn out annoying bickering. Had I not been watching with others I would have turned it off at the 30 minute mark and never finished it. Many of the characters are lifeless and empty shells that look like characters we knew and loved. Star Lord, who takes the back seat in this one, is knocked down about ten pegs in the intelligence department and made a mockery of. Gamors is an ****. Groot is uninteresting. The rest of the cast is forgettable. The villain starts off with some sinister vibes, appears dangerous, and is killed all to quickly to make him a real threat. He is just as whiny as the heroes are. The only heroes here were the audience who daring sat through this **** for 2+ hours. I do not recommend unless you want something on in the background that looks cool, but nobody really looks at.

This was an intense ride. There are some dumb Marvel schlock moments, but the Rocket arc is so, so good. Good use of Radiohead.

If you liked the first two parts, you will also like this part. It is the conclusion of a trilogy. The story is good, there are funny and exciting moments, and the protagonists from the old two parts are all there. Particularly worth mentioning are the IMAX sequences, which are really impressive. The CGI's are in the upper range, they really made an effort here. I actually think it's better than the second part. For some viewers it is too dark, but that is the charm of the film, it is not a clumsy sequel but tells a different story. Really well done, awesome!

I was really surprised at how good it was, with the way Disney and Marvel are right now, I was afraid of how it would turn out because the Guardians are some of my Marvel heros. I thought it was a good send off for everyone, I was exited to go see this, and I was happy to see it wasn't bad. I'm glad this was James Gun's last movie with them, because he got out at a pretty good time.

Great sci-fi with a story that has high stakes for the characters that not have had their story told yet. Great villain that never flinch, and the design for much of the world/enviorments are just awesome.

All the Guardians Of The Galaxy Movies are really good, and it’s really hard to pick which should be my number 1, this is really a good Movie, give it a watch for sure

IN A NUTSHELL: I’m a HUGE fan of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, so I’ve been looking forward to this grand finale. It pains me to even acknowledge that this is the last film in this series. Say it isn’t so, James Gunn! He wrote and directed the film. At the beginning of the film, we see the lights turn off in Quill’s bedroom, illustrating that James Gunn is putting this trilogy to bed. But surely, Marvel won’t really retire this hugely successful part of the MCU, right??? Here’s how the studio describes this final installment: In Marvel Studios “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them. THINGS I LIKED: The fantastic cast includes our fan favorites: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Kementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, Sylvester Stallone, Elizabeth Debicki, and more! The beginning of the movie starts on a sad, serious note, something I wasn’t expecting. Lots of creative set pieces. Gunn does a great job blending tense action scenes with humor and heart. We get to find out Rocket Raccoon’s origin story. Awwww… It is said that many of the songs in the film are diegetic, which means the characters can hear the music. The song that opens and closes the trilogy is “Come and Get Your Love” by Redbone. Sweet. Keep watching during the rolling credits at the end of the movie for another cute scene that references Kevin Bacon. As always, the soundtrack is terrific. The rest of the music by John Murphy was excellent. The story is extremely emotional. You WILL cry. We get a few short cameo performances from a few past characters. Yay! No spoilers! I always love the slow-motion action sequences. So entertaining. THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE: The movie definitely assumes that you already know and love the characters, and understand how the Guardians’ universe works. If you haven’t seen any of the Guardians movies, you should absolutely not start with this one. Start from the beginning. Too many of the costumes and sets look like costumes and sets: more design than magic. In fact, this movie sets a new record for the most prosthetics (23,000) used on over 1000 actors. I wish the voice of Cosmo, the Spacedog, were different. It sounds too much like Mantis’ character. The female voice by Maria Bakalova was used to pay tribute to Laika, the Russian dog who was one of the first animals in space. There are way too many characters to keep track of in this final installment. So much yelling. The movie is messy with tonal changes. There are a lot of flashbacks that might confuse the timeline for some viewers. Ultimately, I wanted more. Because I’m such a fan of the franchise, I really wanted to be blown away but wasn’t. Volume 3 is the best in the franchise, and not just that, I can easily put the movie in the top 5 in Marvel Universe. Not only action scenes are perfect, but the movie's dramatic part is well-written. Really a good movie.
