My experience with the demo go back to high school. I played it a lot, but I never bought the game. Replaying it years later, I understand why. The shooting mechanics are mediocre. But it's the hand to hand combat which is abysmal. it will often take several seconds to register your input, require you to drop your guard in order to attack, no indicators that opponents will begin attacking, sometimes it won't register inputs at all. It's sad because this feels it should have beat em up systems, but they are not well play tested. Especially considering it came out after many solid beat em ups, fighters and hack-n-slash games. If you can get past the jank, you may have a good time.

Still one of my all time favorite games. Got a 360 shortly before the game launched so I could play it. If you grew up in post COD World, this game may feel dated and slow. Give it a chance. There is a lot to love about Halo 3: Campaign couch co-op, four player split screen multiplayer (this extends to online as well), quality single player campaign, customizable settings for multiplayer, secrets, etc. The story is definitely a bit campy and a relic of it's time. But that isn't a negative in my mind. I enjoy the game for what it is and will always come back for more.

First off, this should be Good of War (2018), not God of War. That out of the way, this is one of the most boring experiences in modern gaming I've come across. After pouring hours in, there was nothing there to hook me. The combat system is mediocre at best, and is the core of the franchise. Maybe the story picks up, but I have no interest is putting any more time into a game that leaves me feeling uninterested and bored to death. It feels like Santa Monica was pressured into creating an open world experience, because "everyone else is doing it." The RPG systems are unnecessarily complicated (it was a hack n' slash game series; give us a couple sick weapons and turn us loose), and convoluted. And, you can't jump...seriously, platforming and puzzle solving aren't a thing in this game.
