A bold and stylish western from Quentin Tarantino that delivers exactly what you expect: sharp dialogue, memorable characters, and explosive set pieces. The film feels crafted for the big screen, with cinematic visuals, sweeping landscapes, and intense moments that hit harder in a theater environment. While not his strongest story, the atmosphere, performances, and signature direction make it an entertaining watch. You enjoyed it, and a 7/10 fits well for a solid but not top-tier Tarantino experience.

This is a Quentin Tarantino movie if I've ever seen one. Not his best work, but not his worst either, like most Tarantino movies, it's a solid 7/10.

Django Unchained là phim cao bồi miền Tây vừa giải trí bằng hành động và hài hước, vừa mạnh mẽ trong việc phê phán chế độ nô lệ.

Quentin Tarantino doesn't shy away from the horrors of slavery in Django Unchained even as he delivers a weird, wild, and bloody violent crowd-pleaser in this raucous salute to the spaghetti western.

Even if you don't like Westerns, and even if you don't like every Tarantino film, Django Unchained is an excellent film with outstanding actors. Tarantino knows how to reflect on various genres (Spanish Westerns, slave dramas) and, on top of that, creates a good mix of bloody violent scenes and situational comedy (e.g., the horsemen with their homemade masks). It's well worth seeing (and I'd happily watch it again).

Filme quase perfeito.

Django Unchained has some hilarious moments in it. I especially enjoyed the KKK idots bickering about their masks. It's also got some cool fight scenes. But, it does feel heavy-handed (similar to Inglorious Basterds): the bad guys are over-the-top evil and the good guys get to smite everyone.

To the surprise of no one, Django Unchained is an essentially Tarantino love letter to a genre that's been sadly overlooked in recent decades. It's every bit a straightforward action / revenge picture, with debts owed to the dozens of Leone & company spaghetti westerns that populated theaters in the sixties and seventies. The plot is threadbare - several of Pulp Fiction’s competing storylines have quite a bit more depth - but surprisingly never really feels like it lingers or oversteps its bounds, even as its running time approaches three hours. Eyes-forward escapism is the message of the day, and Django scratches that itch with vigor. It's a tale that, despite an egregious body count and a comical amount of visceral debauchery, doesn't take itself too seriously and is inexplicably able to draw hearty laughs from moments that would have been downright chilling in the hands of another director. The key players are unanimously entertaining; DiCaprio as the smarmy, loathsome plantation owner, Jackson as his savvy right-hand man, Foxx as the blunt instrument of justice... they all play one note, but it's flawlessly tuned. The real show-stealer, once again, is Christoph Waltz, whose grinning, man-of-the-world bounty hunter fuels the majority of the fire. Although his role is a polar opposite to the slimy **** turncoat he portrayed in Inglourious Basterds, it's no less memorable and the picture sags noticeably whenever he's off-screen. Tarantino has turned in smarter efforts, carved deeper characters and written sharper dialogue, but he's rarely been this indulgently entertaining. I loved the experience, especially in a theater full of similarly-humored moviegoers, and can't wait to ingest the subtleties on my own at home.

Spetacular, fun and quite unnerving. Tarantino movies are special in this very particular way, there's something different about them, there is an essence, a feeling that is passed to the spectator that no other director can reproduce. I found this same pleasure watching: Kill Bill. And i can easily say that this is some of his best work. Simply splendid

Django Unchained is my third Tarantino movie and I'm just starting to get used to the fact that he sometimes takes a very serious topic and creates a funny movie around it. It's still weird that a movie centered around the topics of slavery, fascism can be funny, but I'm starting to like it. The story is great, characters are awesome. My favourite characters were Schulzt and Stephen. Schulzt was relatable because of his views, but sometimes he was a ****. Stephen was the funniest character, while I actually don't understand how he could betray his race and serve The Candice family. The cinematography was beautiful, wide shots looked amazing. Color grading was sometimes weird, but in a good way. The acting was top tier. Christoph Waltz was the best and even though I didn't like his performance as much as the one he gave in Inglorious ****, the Oscar is still deserved. Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson were absolutely amazing too. Django Unchained is a perfect film.

Tarantino is spectacular. The action and story of this film are wonderful, and what can we say about the performance of Leonardo Dicaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Foxx and Christoph Waltz? This film has a very strong cast, and everyone performed with excellence!

Wasn't necessarily fresh or entertaining; the plot was simplistic and a bit boring. They recycled themes and characters from Inglorious Basterds and made it seem like all white people were evil. A bit simplistic if you think about it.

Totally Woke but in a Quentin Tarantino rewriting history kind of way. Jamie Foxx's best role imho while Leonardo DiCaprio, and Christoph Waltz shine. Hollywoke needs to pay attention. An idyllic representation of how reparations should've gone down after the 13th amendment.

One of the best, if not the best, modern westerns. It's over-the-top, incredibly bloody, gorgeous, tense, thrilling, and well casted. A pure joy to watch this, because it becomes better with each time you watch it.

I was in awe of this movie and couldn't believe how good it was. Once again, Tarantino has hit the mark. Di Caprio hasn't made a bad movie in my opinion, a wonderful western deserving of being a classic! The story is amazing and the emphasis on specific concerns we formerly faced is incredible!

Quentin Tarantino's modern magnum opus, one of the new millennium's best films, Django Unchained has the director's most common motifs: long, fast-paced and witty dialogues, brilliantly written characters & story, specifically in this masterpiece of a film, the neo-western elements with a superb performance from Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio, and an inimitable bloody Tarantino-style. MAGNIFIQUE! 9/10 !!!

Tarantino is the kind of director who can take on any genre in the world and make an award winning film out of it. Though a western film, Django isn't a cowboy hero, rather a free slave anti-hero. He's neither good nor bad, but is a steadfast individual who ends up learning a whole lot from the German bounty hunter who freed him. The only thing he wants back is his beloved wife, but ends up facing brutal violence, harsh negotiating, and formidable plantation owners. The fiery revenge in Django's attitude throughout the film gives the feeling that he might explode at any given second, yet he somehow fastens it to a leash. He is an attentive, patient, yet zealous man slowly making his way from the bottom to the top. The use of wide angle filming in this movie captures every bit of vivid landscape imaginable in 19th century Texas, giving the viewers a deeper appreciation for Tarantino's masterful filming in which he habitually displays. Really can't say much more than this. Just watch it now.

Terrific movie. The few flaws are that Quentin didn't use more of his representative narrative in this film, and the film itself is still about pure entertaining the director and audience. But these disadvantages pale in comparison to the advantages.

A wild-bloody, live action cartoon with a homicidal vengeance, a reversal of roles, much like "Inglorious Basterds"; rewriting history if you will, they way Quinten Tarantino sees it, and the way we enjoy it. Quinten takes his blood-spattered historical tent show on the road, putting down stakes in Antebellum Dixieland. Not technically a "Basterds" prequel, "Django" stems from a similar impulse, to reframe and rewrite American history in boldly absurd strokes. "Inglorious Basterds" is an exceptional film, but "Django Unchained" surpasses its predecessor, and then some. The movie opens in 1858 Texas with the unorthodox purchase of a slave, Django (Jamie Foxx), by a dentist-turned-bounty hunter, Dr. King Schultz (Christopher Waltz). Since Schultz doesn't believe in slavery, he soon frees Django and the two become partners in Schultz's business. After a profitable winter, they head to Mississippi where their goal is to locate Django's wife, Broomhilda (Kerry Washington). When they succeed, they find an excuse to be invited to the plantation where she is being held. There, they are guests of the mansion's master, Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), where their act bamboozles everyone except Candie's personal slave, Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson), who smells a rat the moment he sets eyes on Django. When Tarantino first introduces audiences to the two characters we'll come to embrace and respect, it's while Django (Foxx) is chained up to other slaves as they march slowly in the dark in the middle of nowhere. Dr. Schultz arrives playing the role of a dentist in a scene that's close to being as perfectly written and delivered as Waltz' farmhouse scene from “Basterds,” freeing Django and thus begins a reluctant partnership. What starts as an uneasy alliance in which one side holds all the power, transforms over the course of the movie into one in which the unlikely pair become partners and friends. Delivering this transformation along with character development, Tarantino is at his screenwriting best. There is not a single misstep by any of the “Unchained” cast. Led by Foxx as a slave-turned-bounty-hunter, and Waltz as a man with more layers than initially revealed, this ensemble is a perfectly cast with everyone at the top of their games. “Django” is an absolute must-see for Tarantino fans, but it's not necessary to be into either Tarantino or just Westerns to be fully entertained. There are many notable cameos: Don Johnson (small part), Jonah Hill, Amber Tamblyn, Bruce Dern, Tom Savini, Robert Carradine, and Franco Nero (who played the lead character in the unrelated 1966 film, Django). Tarantino is one of the few filmmakers that seamlessly and successfully merges style with substance. He is a creature of cinema, unashamedly standing on the shoulders of greats, forging new meaning out of the universal cultural experiences. That is why as far as I'm concerned “Django Unchained” is one of the best of 2012

Django Unchained is a Western masterpiece that doesn't have a dull moment. The acting is great, and although long, no moment of the movie disappoints. I'm not a HUGE Tarantino fan, but he really outdid himself on this one.

This is one of the worst Tarantino's movies. It starts well but the second half turns out to be quite bad and I really didn't like the ending with a soundtrack that really seems to be out of place.

This is a FANTASTIC movie, the soundtrack is amazing, and the story is easy to understand with a very good progression until the end, i think Tarantino put all of his old West Love to make the film.

This is a very serious film by our favorite director, however, this work has a lot of problems associated with an overabundance of unconditional blood on the screen, the stupidest clichés, like how people fly almost into space from a shotgun shot, and, of course, exposing characters that are bad from the point of view of their actions as heroes-liberators.

Not Tarantino's best work but still excellent. The story is a cruical part of American History and Jamie Fox plays the lead so beautifully. Furthermore, Samuel L. Jackson is at his best when he is a Villain IMO.
