Heartstopper: Season 28
Aug 6, 2023
A saccharine romantic triumph that not only celebrates **** love but prioritizes its joys. Aiming to show all the beauty, heartbreak and satisfaction that comes with learning to be yourself so you can love others. Loved this season.

Succession: Season 410
May 28, 2023
A phenomenal return that spares no punches. Spectacular in its precision and self awareness the show enters a historic final stretch that sees the Rys being forced to reckon with themselves. Its been such a wild ride watching the dysfunctional 1% lie, cheat ,cuss shouldn't be this entertaining but under the guide of Armstrong and Mylord is tended into an emotional epic that hinges on you caring for the worst people ever. Stacked with a myriad of definitive episodes it feels difficult to imagine how the academy would even begin to choose which to higlight for attention. Same with the now crowded "Best Actor " category that's overflowing with deserving nominees. Its always great when a show has a grasp of what it does best and what it shouldn't be. That final episode was a masterpiece! Undoubtedly the shows best season and amongst the best final seasons ever.

Barry: Season 44
May 24, 2023
A disappointing finish to what had otherwise been a great comedy drama series. Season four continues the precipitous decline of quality that was only glimpsed at on season three's somber tone. Without its balance of humor and drama it becomes self serious and stiff. The plots take half assed turns and undermine itself. The time jump was a poor choice as was NoHo Hank's rushed villain arc . The characters no longer make sense and every thing feels like a parody. Frankly I dont care about it which is unfortunate because this had the potential to be so much more

Harry & Meghan: Season 17
Dec 15, 2022
Firstly there was no chance this show would receive fair honest reviews from the public as it's topic and necessity is due to the vitriol the couple amassed so those looking for whether this is a worthwhile show should take that with a huge grain of salt. As most reviews here are informed by bias towards the institution harry and megan left and jilted royalists with a penchant for racism abd misogyny. With that said this Netflix special is a much needed excavation of the truth behind the headlines. It's an exploration of how they fell in love, the short period in which that love was still private and the reaction to it by the public. Going into depth about the dangers of the press who in the past participated in Princess Diana's death and how they had continued with the same line of harassment with them. Its still sparse in terms of naming names but frank in sharing an inside perspective on what being a British royal really means. It can be a bit bloated and meander but boasting tonnes of intimate footage of the pair, their baby and their lives makes most of the fat worthwhile. I think its a compelling necessary watch that shows when an institution built on a tradition that existed on the strength of its ability to oppress and destroy anything labeled other is confronted with issues it perpetuate but continously deny.

The White Lotus: Season 28
Dec 12, 2022
Amazing second season! I enjoyed the overall mystery but what truly made the show was the weekly conversations around our favorite characters and moments . White Lotus is a charater drama with an edge. It crackles with humor and is taught with tension. Its telling how the fan theories though askew reveal just how compelling the story is . Aubrey plaza is consistent as she compells as the sexually frustrated wife alongside mcfaye whose Daphne is a complex chill. Jennifer Coolidge steals the show as the lethaly clumsy half a billionaire, her dissolving marriage and vapid rendezvous with high end gays had me on the edge of my seat. Theo James gives his best performance ever(which doesn't say much given his abysmal discography) as the narcissistic potentially indept Cameron . This is another stunning season which surprisingly tops the intelligently funny first. Definitely one of my favorites in a year of great television.

Please Like Me: Season 28
Nov 29, 2022
Season 2 comes back stronger with none of the inconsistencies of the first but all of its best qualities. Fortunately reducing the multiple instances of racism it actually attempts to give Mae depth beyond hot tempered Vietnamese lady. Josh's mother steals the show! Her portrayal of bipolar is so affecting and real and her battle with her depression is the most realistic thats been on television in a long time

Please Like Me: Season 17
Nov 29, 2022
One of the most nuanced portrayals of a neurodivergent gay man if not the first ,on television. It's warm wit and surprising depth allow for a small cast of relative unknowns to pull you in with their fantastic performances of the human condition. It unconventional take on the romance trope allows for funnier, deeper and more satisfying paths to he taken.

The White Lotus: Season 18
Nov 23, 2022
Hilarious, conscious and surprisingly dark this beautifully shot vaction drama takes a nihilistic look at caste systems asking and answering the question of can capitalist corruption be perturbed and saying no. With mentions of blm, white persecution complexes and disconnect the rich have from reality it takes intresting paths to tell deeply moving stories with their sometimes hyperbolic characters. The murder mystery did seem to be on the back burner for most of the season but fortunately thats not to it's detriment as it actually allows for the characters lives to create all the tension we need. I really enjoyed Sydney Sweeney muted manipulative "performative social justice" mean girl is a scene stealer, going from cutthroat to caring to cunning in a seconds flash. Or Murray Barlets unhinged chaotic and high strung role as the hotel manager buckling under the weight of his of both his own & his clients expectations to a tragic though unacknowledged end. This shows message is delivered wonderfully and it was enjoyable throughout.

Ted Lasso: Season 14
Nov 10, 2022
I decided to give this show a chance after it sweeped almost all categories at the Emmy's twice in a row. I thought they obviously must be because it's that good right? Wrong. Not because the show is terrible (it's not) but because it's flavorless. I mean it. It's one if the most inoffensive milk&toast series I've ever seen! Not only is it wholeheartedly on the nose but for a comedy it's deeply unfunny. You will not be laughing, you will actually be looking at other apps biding your time in-between gratuitous shirtless Brett Goldstein scenes(I literally texted my best friend each time an unnecessary shirtless scene was on.) This show is also glaringly **** does try to be interesting or have consequences for it's characters. Also the rampant stereotypes they try romanticize is troubling from the happy incompetent foreigner who despite being qualified is either a)dumbfounded by social clues b)sickeningly kind/virtuosic c)personality is their country of origin. It's actually kinda boring rather than offensive. It aims to teach that love and positivity are the key to everything. For example the title charater who's positive outlook is so suffocating his wife divorces him in the 2nd episode. Instead of that leading to an excavation of how toxic positivity can be harmful his wife is villanized as this family wrecking nag who isn't grateful for the husband she has which is frustrating. Trust the premise of this happy southerner who's just polite, unproblematic and kind gets old pretty fast. It would've been so game changing to see the reasons why Ted is how he is or a darker imperfect side: rather see someone learning to be better than a faultless Saint soccer coach. I will not be watching season 2. This was disappointing enough.

Death Note10
Oct 27, 2022
Blown away! While a bit generous with its deductions it's a stunning show, one of the best I've seen in a while. A thrilling game of cat and mouse leads this show central story of life and death. It's focused, smart and stylish. Brilliant.

Love, Victor: Season 30
Oct 14, 2022
Glad this has came to an end. My baby sister has been obsessed with this show and insists i watch it with her(the reason why I've seen each dreadful season)but with this conclusion they will be no more to be subjected to. This final season has nothing to say so it throws out it's own rulebook and forces the cast to behave in uncharacteristic ways that aren't indicative of growth. Not only that but the bloated finale revolves everything so cleanly it feels boring, they were no stakes because even as the conflicts arose you knew that they could be easily remedied.

Love, Victor: Season 20
Oct 14, 2022
Set in the aftermath of his coming out love victor struggles to take itself seriously. From his parent's predictable reaction to his relationship with Benjamin you really have nothing to care about here. Rahim was an interesting addition

Love, Victor: Season 10
Oct 14, 2022
A sanitized saccharine spinoff that plays it safe in every way possible. It's disney like sincerity and affable humor make this a disappointing addition to **** media. Michael Camino is a boring actor who brings nothing to his performance but tbh given the quality of the cast it's to no surprise.

Doctor Foster: A Woman Scorned: Season 18
Oct 9, 2022
This show found me on tiktok, some page that posted clips of tv shows posted one of the penultimate dinner scene. Im so glad i followed through because this show is a blast, frankly im surprised it isn't more renowned. Suranne Jones delivers a terrifying performance as the scorned genius doctor who after discovering her husband's infidelity begins to unravel. Her performance is erratic, calculated yet rash and seething. It's beautifully delivered though leaving you at the edge of your feet in fear she might explode.

The Handmaid's Tale: Season 54
Oct 9, 2022
Handmaid's Tale is a perfect example in when you get too much **** thing except this isn't a good thing. Handmaid's tale is a stark suffocating world of misery where Junes long winded shots of emotional duress or Gileads brutality is extended. It's still poetic, well written and made but it's no longer rewarding. It's hard to feel hope when these characters have been unable to change their circumstances for almost 3 seasons or attain justice for atleast 4. It's gratuitous and isolating irrespective of your investment as now a thought out and somewhat happy ending is the only thing that could remedy this brutal fatigue. Season five continues unraveling as it nears the final stretch as a cat and mouse game between Gilead and June sees each becoming more extreme in an effort to preserve.

Interview With the Vampire: Season 17
Oct 8, 2022
An indulgent retelling of a beloved novel lands with more style than quality. Seemingly dramatic and rushed this sometimes funny love story toes the line between love and subservience. And seeks to answer, what happens when a black man becomes powerful but is forced to imitate the state he'd been designated preceding this power. It's medium of an interracial homosexual relationship creates the perfect opportunity to explore what the power dynamics would entail especially in such an era. The story should shorten its pace and flesh out its relationship and then might be in line of being a fantastic debut.

Descendants0
Oct 2, 2022
What is perhaps the high school musical of this generation which is unfortunate. The low production quality is difficult to ignore or excuse. The musical numbers fall short with nothing really resonating as a staying classic. The cast is passable at best with a script as watertight as a sieve.

House of the Dragon6
Sep 29, 2022
House of dragon's could've been so much better. This first season is breathlessly racing through character development, time periods and plots. You can barely orient yourself before an unaccounted for period has passed. Gone are the days where Game of thrones would allow it's arcs to simmer & build towards great climaxes, where an introduction of a multitude of characters meant just as many arcs. This shows grave mistake is it's limited focus and confusing pace because the rest is still considerably good.

Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story8
Sep 23, 2022
An ambitious slow burn with a greater emphasis on telling the full story without romanticism. It's well made in every aspect and it really does establish it's tone very well. Evan Peter's performance is a chilling resurrection of an infamous cannibalist murderer. It's non-linear storytelling envelopes you completely as we see how the reports and victims were ignored.

Desperate Housewives: Season 17
Sep 18, 2022
Salacious, gripping and undeniably quick witted. The first season of this soap opera plays like a well planned out tragedy, unraveling slowly over the 22 episode's. It's ensemble cast is formidable with Gloria's selfish adulterer or the performance highlight of the show Marcia whose Bree is a perplexing uptight WASP with undiagnosed OCD. Nothing is ever what it seems and the secrets tend to keep them than the other way round. Some episode's do border on filller but they never end that way,a cliffhanger always sending off the episode. Truly enjoyed binging this.

Atlanta: Season 46
Sep 17, 2022
Returning without the goodwill that had reinforced the reception of the preceeding third season, Atlanta's fourth season continues to stumble. Gone is the cinematic paranoia and bizzare black existentialism . These episodes have shown a continuation of the disjointed unfocused storytelling that focuses on the message of it's stories rather than telling them well. Obviously given it's "Atlanta " the cinematography is pristine alongside the fantastic soundtrack but when none of that offers more to the story all you can really be is disappointed by a warped could have been masterpiece

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Season 14
Sep 3, 2022
What i did find exhausting woth the show is it's pace. It's a glacial slow burn that doesn't really excite during it's establishing episodes, sure it feels like the groundwork for a bigger story but given that hasn't unfolded yet i consider it a fault. It als feels lifeless, focused on the bigger things than the interpersonal which could make it so much more interesting. It should focus on scaling it's range and fleshing out it's key players.

Lost: Season 16
Sep 2, 2022
The pilot is remarkable, it leaves you intrigued and amazed but the episodes soon after sink beneath it's own mystery bloated by too many episodes. It's glacial pace focuses more on miniature character moments than events, which can be great television but only when well acted, which isn't the case here

P-Valley: Season 18
Aug 23, 2022
The show is rich with complicated characters, hilarious at times and dramatically powerful at others, and you can almost taste the chicken wings as the flavorful atmosphere is equal parts gritty and glitter. The Pynk is one club you won't want to leave. Kudos to Katori Hall for her well-researched writing. She knows these people, and she loves them, too.

I May Destroy You: Season 18
Aug 23, 2022
Micheala Coel's astoundingly semi-autobiographical tale of experiencing, enduring and accepting a sexual assault is unnerving with its sharpness. It thrives in the mundane and has a real understanding of how trauma actually feels . The performances are really good and the script very concise. I think everyone should see this .

When They See Us: Season 17
Aug 23, 2022
Heartbreakingly true story of the inhumanity the American justice system is capable of. When five innocent young black kids are scapegoated for a crime they lives are irrevocably detroyed. This miniseries follows the journey of those people and proves that sometimes surviving is enough.

The Night Of: Season 18
Aug 23, 2022
A highlight in the mini-series genre. The pilot is phenomenal and the story is cautionary. Its a kystery that doesn't try to be solve only exonerate. A slow burn that slowly unwinds to it climatic finish. Riz Ahmed doe eyed naivete is well performed alongside Turturro sleazy lawyer. An excellent thriller.

Atlanta: Season 37
Aug 23, 2022
[Original review:03/26/22] [original score:10 ] Gone long enough to convince people it might just be over ATLANTA returns as if ut never left. It's masterful tone intact perfecting it's balance of tension, horror, surrealism and social commentary. Debut with two long awaited episodes that quite any doubts about stagnation but instead challenge yet again what the bar is. It's still pushing forward capturing hard to discern moments of confusion, fear and anxieties. Despite usually being reluctant to score shows so early in a season Atlanta speaks for itself. [Update] This season hit the ground running with a balance of horror, humour and drama that we've come to love from Atlanta but this season played out like a time to a flower in a vase: begins as beautiful as when you picked it only to decay. Thats what season 3 has done,it feels off brand. It meanders and feels so out of touch like the inclusion of Liam Nielson who actively expressed violent racist sentiments or the infamous appropriator Chet Hanks who besides his privileged appropriation of Jamaican culture is documented being violent to black women, irrespective of intention these choices felt provocative for the sake of being so . As well as the lack of character development whatsoever, Vanessa is varely present, the European tour is insignificant. The way it confronts topics such as white guilt or black pain isn't revelatory or remotely interesting. This whole season felt forgettable and unnecessary .

House of the Dragon: Season 16
Aug 21, 2022
Honestly there's nothing too bad about this just an uneven start but it's a welcomed revival of the intrigue the earlier seasons carried. It feels like something potentially good and far removed from the quality decline apparent in the Game of thrones later years. Excited to see where this goes.

Harley Quinn: Season 34
Aug 20, 2022
Back just as funny as before this show has adapted a captivating irreverent formula that whilst still providing satisfying comic book thrills succeeds it with a contagious comedic spirit.

Hacks: Season 27
Aug 20, 2022
Much welcomed improvement that thrives in opening the complexities of female relationships. Exploring family, failure and growth Deborah and Ava are a pleasure to watch as each exploit becomes more chaotic. Putting them on the road was a wise decision that not only expands the setting but allows for more chaos to ensue. Jean Smart is brilliant and her co star hopds her own pretty well.

Dead to Me: Season 24

Dead to Me: Season 15
Aug 19, 2022
Applegate and Cardellini are never really bad in anything, and they’re terrific here on their own. But when they’re together, when they provide the messy, funny, undeniably warm rapport that defines this unusual friendship, “Dead to Me” (please forgive the phrase) comes to life. It makes the show’s occasional missteps—a twist too many, the odd joke too knowing, and a finale that feels like it belongs to a different series, to name a few—well worth enduring.
Aug 19, 2022
Dead to Me5
Aug 19, 2022
This show is very confusing to me,not in content but how it makes me feel. It feels as if it should be better than it actually was. Focusing on the strength of female friendship it explores the ramifications of a hit and run on two women at the opposite side of the incident. It rlfeels like a romantic comedy thriller that never seems to deliver the payoffs it teases:things feel a little to easy especially when they aren't stretching belief.

Hacks: Season 17
Aug 19, 2022
Magic in a bottle! This show takes a while to make it's claim but once you pass the 2nd episode there's no denying the sheer brilliance potentially present. It's funny ,intimate and dark. It moves without wasting time and effectively creates strong complex relationships between people hurt by love in differing ways. It's an unexpected gem, definitely a must watch.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law: Season 16
Aug 18, 2022
A low stakes light hearted courtroom drama that despite it's effort still feels beholden to the waning Marvel comedic formula and it's recent decline in VFX quality. Tatiana is unsuprisingly stunning in the lead role despite how distracting the cgi can be . I really like the tone of this series and how small the world feels in comparison to the rushed high stakes in previous Marvel Disney + series (eg. Loki,ms.marvel ,wandavision or moon knight).

Broadchurch: Season 25
Aug 17, 2022
The season no one needed came off not as bad as i thought it would. Focusing on the previous seasons case alongside the Sandbrook murders was an error. The sanbrook killings arc was more of an annoyance than anything that wuld keep me at the edte of my seat,i didn't care about anyone involved or the eventual resolution. Performance wose this season was on par with the first with Olivia Coleman grief-stricken performance a hundred times better! The courtroom scenes serve as vehicles to pick apart perceived plot holes from the first season. The writing was weak, nothing epse really

Broadchurch: Season 17
Aug 16, 2022
An almjst brilliant drana that begins stronger than it ends. The journey to uncover the killer behind the odd death of an 11 year old boy is a tumultuous destructive wave the beachside community of Broadchurch could not withstand. Anchored by two magnificent BAFTA nominated performances by David Tenant and Olivia Coleman this detective drama first season is one that manages to bring something fresh to the often predictable clichés of mystery dramas

Never Have I Ever: Season 35
Aug 13, 2022
The shows weaknesses and strength had been more of the same the past twp seasons but on the third one instead of it beginning funnier than it winds out being it tries to remain consistent. It attempts to round off it's characters.
Aug 10, 2022
Harley Quinn: Season 26
Aug 10, 2022
A big improvement on the often impetuous irreverent arcs in the first season. Harley is given more space to develop as a character as well as her dynamic with her gang feeling more natural . The unexpected live triangle between poison ivy ,Harley Quinn and Kite man is not as exciting as it could've been and the animation style hasn't justified how plain it feels.
Aug 10, 2022
Harley Quinn: Season 16
Aug 10, 2022
Funny whimsical take on Harley Quinn and the extended DC universe. It's really funny at times but falters when it tries to be emotional. It's very relevant with a referential humor that's quick on it's toes.

The Big Bang Theory: Season 36
Aug 8, 2022
The cast remains the driving force, as the whole writing becomes cheesier and somewhat thin. I can still watch it and laugh though. It's a great comedy, but it's themes aren't that original

The Big Bang Theory: Season 27
Aug 8, 2022
Perfect chemistry between the main characters, with Sheldon's quirkiness, Leonard's urge for love, Howard's flirtatiousness, Raj's awkwardness, and Penny's extroversion. Perfect for all audiences, this show will undoubtedly break you into fits of laughter
Aug 8, 2022
The Big Bang Theory: Season 14
Aug 8, 2022
Off beat nerd comedy that provided a spotlight on an often ridiculed and ignored sub culture. Sheldon is endearing (to a limit) whilst Penny is an object for them to practice their misogynistic thoughts.
