It's still sad that Psygnosis/Studio Liverpool is no more, but if Omega Collection proves a test-run for the new developers to handle a brand new, original WipEout, then the franchise looks to be in good hands.

Some dated ideas are masked by the visual makeover, but WipEout still plays and looks like nothing else. If you have the patience, The Omega Collection will reel you back in. [Aug 2017, p.91]

WipEout Omega Collection is a fantastic update that runs as smooth as a supersonic hovercraft.

Out of this world graphics for a must have in my collection! I have loved the Wipeout series since it first launched and this title remains as true to the original as almost every other chapter! Nothing bad to say here! Bravo!

A lot of fun but a TOTAL sensory overload. Some events are incredibly challenging due to sheer speed but if you like these sci-fi arcade racing games, you cannot go wrong with this.

This collection of updated WipEout games is really proof of how these great games have withstood the test of time. Packed with content and with superb technology to back it up, Omega Collection is a must-have for fans of Sony’s futuristic racing franchise.

While each of the three games exude style and stimulation in their own distinct ways, they collectively showcase the best elements of franchise's engrossing racing and silky smooth visuals. And even though it doesn't completely scratch the itch that only a completely new PS4 sequel can offer, this collection is easily the next best thing.

a very remarkable remaster of two of Studio Liverpool's last and perhaps best games.
graphics and sound design have been totally overhauled for PS4 and PS5
however the AI have been dumbed down for the HD Fury remaster

With breakneck racing thrills and impeccable presentation, this ranks up there with The Last Of Us Remastered as the best redux on PS4.

WipEout Omega Collection won’t hold your hand; if you’re not at the peak of perfection, you’ll find yourself trailing behind the pack. It’s as much a celebration of old-school difficulty as it is WipEout itself. Full of crisp, vibrant and detailed tracks, ridiculous speeds and an overall feeling of bad-assery, it’s hard to go wrong with the bundle.

Wipeout is back with all its extreme speed and catchy electronic tunes. The Omega Collection is a great reminder of what makes this franchise so good... But also leaves us desperately wanting a proper new game.

WipEout Omega Collection is an impressive remaster that shines at high speeds, though elements of this compilation are starting to show their age. Despite being boosted all the way up to 4K on the PS4 Pro, some of the tracks are returning for the fourth time, and while WipEout 2048’s contemporary layouts look luxurious on the big screen, it can be hard to shake the feeling of familiarity on occasion. That said, if anti-grav is your bag, then there’s nothing quite like the original – even with the number of inferior pretenders on the racing scene these days.

Delightfully entertaining racing game with a unique concept, offering hours of high-speed, futuristic fun. While it stands out with its sleek design and adrenaline-pumping gameplay, it lands solidly as a memorable experience worth returning to.

not bad **** good graphics and fun tracks with obstacles. controlees are a bit weird should have used same drive mechanics as games like trackmania turbo as the brake should have been one button for easier drifting. also you shouldn't have to press a button to pick up a boost in my mind it should be automatically but still no bad **** for 2017 works great with my ps4 pro :)

Yeah, no. I was a huge fan of Wipeout HD back on the PS3 because it could do really cool things with the CUSTOM music playlists I built and that game supported stereoscopic 3D right off the jump, those features are not available anymore. The biggest complaint I have is that the music from my PS4 Media server doesn't get the same effects as the music in game. That the developers didn't try to have the game actually read from the server like they did have it do back on the PS3. Stereoscopic 3D has been removed, I was able to restore it with the features of my 4K 3D TV. However, not everyone here can afford a $3,000+ TV. What the developers did is... they basically took a handful of features out of the game, features that were available back on the PS3 version... to pave the way for 4K. That's NOT ok, and you guys deserve this review. Media Server flaws aside, The sound/music doesn't reverberate even using the default music playlists they've given us and the whole experience feels much flatter because of it. I've messed around with the music/sound settings switching between tv, night mode, and surround sound and it changes absolutely nothing. The controls feel better on the PS4 controller. The gameplay is solid, and if your TV has the ability to *force* stereoscopic-- then the game is also 3D. The graphics are better too. The sound design absolutely kills the feel of the game though and I don't see myself playing this much when I still have the PS3 version. The short of this review is: If you have the PS3 version and you're an audiophile that doesn't really care for better graphics, then stick with the PS3 version. If you're a graphics first kind of guy that also doesn't care about 3D support, or having custom playlists that interact with the game then this is a great buy for you and you shouldn't listen to this review. (You can use Spotify or the built in media server, but it won't interact with the game like it would back on the PS3) I'm really hoping that the developers see this review, that they patch in some kind of fix that allows the game to read from the media server or Spotify, and then i'll update my review to a 8/10. I don't like being stuck with the developer's choice for game soundtrack when it wasn't how things were eight years ago. I personally don't care how many thumbs down this review gets. This is my honest review, as I just bought a game that doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the September 2008 release did. I mean, GJ on you guys for implementing 4K, that's going to net you all your positive reviews as PS4 Pro users scramble to find 4K content on their newest console investment. Make it worth their time and money, right? But for those of us who simply don't care, and have been using 4K since 2007... we probably want the same bells and whistles. One could say that this is more a slam against Sony's abandonment of internal media server support in favor of forcing us all to use their cloud media streaming services... but if that's true, then SIE would have made the game compatible with Spotify or the media server in the first place. Instead, it's on the game developers for not developing support for the media server.
