Welcome to ParadiZe

ParadiZe doesn't take itself too seriously and takes the zombie theme lightly. It's one of those games that offers a mix of genres and if you don't accept them as a whole, you simply won't fully appreciate the game. Either take it all together and have fun, or leave it alone.

I haven't had this much fun in a co-op game since It Takes Two.

Not bad, not great: Welcome to ParadiZe is a fun pastime that made me want to play more Diablo IV.

Welcome to ParadiZe has a great core concept that is just shy of fully capitalizing on. I think it could have been a serious winner if the game had leaned more heavily into its base-building and crafting identity. As it stands, it is more of an okay ARPG title that, while definitely full of some interesting mechanics, isn’t the most exciting one on the market.

Welcome to ParadiZe is an ok game if you can deal with the repetitive combat. You’re basically just R1’ing through zombie waves much of the game.

Everything in Welcome to ParadiZe works mechanically and the Zombot is an interesting idea. However, it is let down by a boring gameplay loop.

There is a lot to like here but the game does not feel smooth to play. You will often encounter tedium when it comes to just traversing and interacting with objects, let alone quests. Things feel half baked but the world and design are genuinely cool. tldr is 'Great ideas. Bad execution' I hope the devs get some more funding and polish it up. It has big Dead Rising energy and I miss those games.

Le principe est un peu débilos mais bon, pourquoi pas après tout... on peut contrôler ou plutôt enrôler des zombis : ils vous suivent partout, ramassent des merdes, se battent avec les autres zombis comme un compagnon lambda en somme. Il finissent par crever éventuellement, alors il faut coller un nouveau casque sur n'importe quel zombi mort et ça repart. Sauf qu'il faut pas mal de ressources pour fabriquer à chaque fois un casque, ce qui signifie ramasser encore des merdes et se coltiner tout un tas de zombis, car bien entendu, c'est un collectathon sur les zombis morts pour fabriquer le moindre truc. Et ça vaut évidemment pour les bandages (pour se soigner), les munitions etc, etc... On passe donc sa vie à buter des morts vivants et ça n'arrête pas, on peut pas faire un pas sans que ça tourne au carnage... pour eux certes mais aussi pour notre personnage qui n'est pas invincible, loin de là. A cet égard, le combat est comme une sorte de hack and slash (hah kel tash en français ou bien l'autre traduction également acceptée hakell shiass). C'est pas génial mais ça fait le boulot. Le problème, c'est la répétition du merdier qui s'installe un peu trop rapidement : on meurt, on revient et sur le chemin, on se retape une mégachiée de zombis et bien sûr, si le voyage rapide existe théoriquement, en pratique, ce n'est pas le cas. Dans le processus de répétition bien répétitif, il faut inclure comme mentionné plus avant, toutes les merdes qu'il faut fabriquer et refabriquer à n'en plus finir. Par ailleurs, l'humour est présent mais tout à fait stupide, pour ne pas dire carrément golio sur les bords... et aussi au milieu. Enfin, on ne peut pas tourner la caméra, ni zoomer et la performance du jeu sur pc est particulièrement lamentable : j'ai dû tout mettre au minimum sur mon mini-mini-pc (pourtant moderne), juste pour tenir à peu près 30 im/s. Vu la tronche du jeu (tout juste correcte et encore), c'est programmé avec le cul. D'ailleurs, pour changer des détails importants comme le fsr et tutti quanti, il faut... rédémarrer le jeu à chaque fois ! cela confirme que ce jeu a été vraiment boulotté avec le fion. Au final, ce jeu décidément déplaisant s'avère donc surtout et avant tout une daube infernale !
