I never falls too far from chaotic fun. [Issue#155, p.122]
Samurai Warriors 4 continues Omega Force's long streak of high-quality Warriors titles. It isn't as exceptionally good as Hyrule Warriors and veers a bit too heavily into button-mashing for its own good, but it remains a fun game to play.

Arguably the best finger-abuser money can buy. An essential purchase for musou fans. [Christmas 2014, p72]

I hadn't played Samurai Warriors since its first entry, but have played some of the more recent Dynasty titles. This was a pretty big improvement of what I remember of the game. The genre is getting REALLY old, but for some reason these games are a guilty pleasure that just keep expanding and improving. I don't get tired of them, because I don't buy or play the extra titles and wait until a expanded version released. LOTS OF CHARACTERS, COOL COMBOS and a buffet of hack n' slash, with all of the cool ninjas, sorcerers and samurais you can handle.

The reality is that Samurai Warriors 4 is nothing short of brilliant, and a huge leap forward into the new generation of game design by Koei. It's cinematic, its beautiful, it's fast and entertaining, and if you allow it to be, it's even a little educational. And that makes it inspiring.

I have enjoyed every Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors that has come out and this is now exception Tecmo Koei know what there fans want and like and they make sure we get it, Every game has the Story and Free mode and then there is another mode which is different in every version of the game. Samurai Warriors 4 has Chronicle mode where you create your own Samurai and travel Japan fighting in battles and meeting all the famous officers that are in the game to try and bond with them. Specking of characters to play this has the biggest roster to date in any of there games I think with 55 to pick from and 12 of them playable for the first time. Story mode has gone the way of Dynasty Warriors meaning there are 10 different stories for 10 different clans of the warring states, Takeda and Shimazu to name 2. anybody who enjoy the other Samurai Warriors game will love this and those that have not should give it a try, it might just surprise you

It's about time! Finally after years of waiting the at last released an eu/usa version. I loved the samurai series as well the dynasty ones. Better storyline, impressive musicgameplay. I just love it.

There’s a decent serving of 55 characters. The action has been sped up considerably with the new Hyper moves.

Samurai Warriors 4 suffers from the same pratfalls as the rest of the Warriors series on occasion, but the strong offering of content and robust Chronicle mode will keep you interested for quite a while.

With Samurai Warriors 4, Omega Force's other established Musou series finally steps out of the shadow cast by their more revered Dynasty Warriors catalogue.

Samurai Warriors 4 becomes the best title in the franchise thanks to its playable news. The PS4 version eliminates popping, while the Vita version is well balanced.

This is an amazing addition to the Warriors franchise. While it may not have the roster nor depth that Warriors Orochi 3 had, the combat and feel of the game is vastly improved. If there's one warriors game to get, this would be my recommendation unless you're really into the Chinese lore instead.

Played quite a bit last night and had a blast. This is my first Samurai Warriors game but I have played a lot of the Dynasty games. The game looks good on the PS4, the pop in is much less than it used to be. Don't read the negative reviews that say this is a button mashing game. It is what all the warriors games are, but with more depth. By now, if you like warriors games you will love this one, if you don't like them then you will likely not enjoy this one.

If there was any Warriors game to get into, it is this. It runs very smoothly, looks great for a Musou game, and it's just as fun. The only caveat is that there are no English voices, only Japanese, but I can guarantee you that the story is fairly easy to follow.

I love this game! The combat and gameplay is much more fluid when I compare it to Warriors Orochi. love this Japanese art style too! there are flaws, like close up the trees and water are a bit blurry, the characters hair never moves (they really must have strong hair gel!) but it doesn't take anything away from the slash fest. if you like Japanese games, or beat em ups, this will be like hardcore pornography for you!

Series can change. And that was real great changes. 50 characters, fast pased combat and tons of fun, make this game REALLY good. If you like Warriors series, especially Samurai Warriors, I strongly recommend to get this game immediately. Or you just risked to make fall more boring :)

SummaryThe game's primary mode, Story Mode, is separated into 2 parts, regional stories, which tell the tales of the officers of various regions around the land such as Kyūshū and Shikoku, and the story of unification, which details events up to the end of the Warring States era. By way of contrast to previous games in the SW series, the battle... Read More
