The reality is that Samurai Warriors 4 is nothing short of brilliant, and a huge leap forward into the new generation of game design by Koei. It's cinematic, its beautiful, it's fast and entertaining, and if you allow it to be, it's even a little educational. And that makes it inspiring.

Samurai Warriors 4 suffers from the same pratfalls as the rest of the Warriors series on occasion, but the strong offering of content and robust Chronicle mode will keep you interested for quite a while.

Musou fans have a great choice here, since it offers a dynamic game with a deep gameplay. Those who might not even know what a 'musou' is have also an accessible game we're sure they are going to have fun with.

Samurai Warriors 4 is a typical musou game, with tons of enemies and crazy on screen action. Both Tecmo Koei and Omega Force have done a good job with the game graphics, but a couple of strange game design details could be hard to understand for the musou hardcore fans.

Samurai Warriors 4 is a faster, greatly expanded addition to the series. Each character feels fresher, and there's a ton of stuff to do. I just wish the online play would actually be something acceptable for the modern day.

Though it still carries the same old Musou blueprint, and so there’s little to draw in those who dislike its particular brand of hack n’ slash action, there are enough changes to attract any self-respecting fan of the series.
