Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is a fantastic experience...while it lasts. Sadly, as with other impressive titles such as Nintendo's own Pilotwings Resort and Steel Diver, Capcom has delivered a high quality product with plenty of thrills and spills, but lacking in the vital longevity stakes for anyone other than die-hard score chasers.

A boring minigame stretched to full lenght boots. The idea should have been scrapped at the development table. [Sept 2011]

A disappointment. The game seems like a test project on the 3DS for Capcom with the end goal of checking how the engine works on the 3DS hardware.

For a 3DS launch title/early 3DS title, The Mercenaries 3D does a good job of bringing Resident Evil to handheld systems. It has a fair amount of content, playable characters, and brings familiar arenas for fans of RE4 and RE5. It is very repetitive with missions, but a solid experience nonetheless. However, Revelations would raise the handheld bar that Mercenaries 3D would set. A decent game if you can find it on sale.

I really like playing mercenaries mode in resident evil 5, this game is perfect for me, but unfortunately it's only released in 3ds, btw good gameplay, good characters, lots of features like being able to change weapon packages, additional skills, superfun!!

If you liked Resident Evil 5 Mercenaries mode you'll definitely like this one! The controls are good and the graphics too considering this is the 3DS. The matchmaking works perfectly to this day. YES, the game is from 2011 and you still get matches in the coop mode in 2020! CAPCOM did a fantastic job with the matchmaking, if TriForce had matchmaking like this it wouldn't be a dead game and the cartriged would actually be an usefull piece of plastic. I had a lot of fun with that, but sadly you can't add the people you play with so bid them farewell as soon as the mission is done. The only thing that makes this not be as good as it should have been is the short play time finished it in 5h or so, even with the waiting for matchmaking between missions. They could've put more effort in this game and the result would've been perfect.

If you're looking for a portable-optimized intense high-score game centered around killing zombie-like enemies, this fits the bill. The Mercenaries 3D is worthy of a full retail release, and hopefully we'll see more like it in the future.

It's fun, challenging and has a high replay value, and also has very good graphics. But at the same time is limited, short and somewhat repetitive.

Severely underrated game. I don't know what is wrong with the "professional" critics. Crapcom produces and publishes a metric ton of **** for more than a decade, but this is a little gem, a very good action game with very nice graphics. And the price is a steal. If you don't own it, go out and buy it, NAO.

I also am giving this game a 10 to offset the idiots that gave the game a zero without even playing. In my opinion this would be an 8 or a 9. This is a great game and worthy of a 3DS sale. There is plenty of content, despite what many have said. 30 standard missions, EX missions, unlockable skills and costumes and characters. This is a score chasers game, so if you go into it knowing what to expect you will be happy with the game. It is a lot of fun, and the controls suit the 3DS well. You change weapon with the touch screen. This is another must buy for the 3DS.

The Mercenaries 3D is nothing more than a portable version of a collateral game mode. How can it be fun for more than a few hours?

Despite its considerable flaws, at its core, Mercenaries is a ton of fun. From the moment I started playing it I couldn't put it down.

Mercenaries 3D feels more like an oversized tech demo rather than a full game. Capcom has made serious efforts to deliver something decent, but it is obvious that a mode packed as an extra in Resident Evil 5, cannot justify its full price tag.

It's difficult to look at this game as a recommendable product. It can be completed within two hours and has low repeat values.

It's hard to shake the feeling that Mercenaries 3D is the slimy result of a Capcom executive meeting titled "What can we get away with this time?"

it's really addictive, but i'm just thinking i should be playing resi 4 in 3d with this on the side! kinda hurt by it cause i hate saying bad things about resi, plus what is it with the frame rate, it's a joke when that bat boss is about lol

Really fun game. Sometimes I felt like I was the only one on the internet who likes this game. But the voices though are HORRIBLE. I don't why people hate this game. Score: 3/5.

OMFG This game is TERRIBLE! WHO are these people rating it so HIGH? And you read their reviews and they are rating it without mentioning multiplayer! You seriously think the solo game is THAT good? I can understand if you are a res evil fan and just wanted some MORE of that old fashioned mercenaries mode. But the tutorial lasts forever, (OMG move the text out of THE WAY, Stop TALKing.) the gameplay is repetitive by choice.. which would be great if it emulated the ganados, B.O.W.'s and such exactly like the actual versions did. But the AI is wonky and they basically jump over a fence, stare at you for 5 seconds, then follow a path to you. Not a direct line, but you can see exactly where the devs plotted the paths. No deviation until theyre right next to you, then they do a 5 second stare, wind up slowly, and whap you. Which is fine if you like bad AI. But this is star wars battlefront 2 levels of grinding. Seriously, I can sweep a stage and pour on some decent combos, set up some barrel multikills and youre just getting chump change towards your perks. Progression is.. lacklustre. The game is fine for what it is, a reasonably detailed repeater game that shines in multiplayer. But be reasonable ~ if you want to play resident evil with a friend, you WONT be doing the game or your friends justice by playing it on this handheld version. Go home and play the real version. The 3d is nice but it isnt worth the price of admission.

They is a lot of hate to capcom because as you can see they only are milking re games now and they not fun just stuidp. Same as 360 I mean wow so what? who cares? simple its the same game xD For people giveing this game a score of 10 for no reason at all makes you a **** xD Ok so we already got this game on 360 of re5 and 4 so why did they make another on 3ds? Maybe they broke on cash and need to spam same games on consoles. The game has many levels but all on all you can't make your own levels thats a pity or have brand new ones but Capcom wanted to spam the same crap levels on this game it disspoints me. And annoying lag here is when you make a game the game sometimes dies saying your connection is lost then you start over again meaning you lost your points that I find annoying when time is about 10 seconds left and boom connection goes. Well for me this game is just another wasted lifetime if you get it as they is only 1 save file too damn you Capcom for doing this, I want to have slots to save on or something but only 1 slot is not good enough. Capcom learn your lesson please as the fans hate this game, the weapon loadout is pointless if only you can edit your OWN weapon loadout too so you can pick what you have instead picking the already made up list. Oh well you will like this game or not for me I think it's more bride with Capcom fans to loose money out just a copy guys lets leave it as that.
