Captain Soda is a fun, lighthearted shoot-'em-up that harkens back to a simpler era of internet gaming, yet remains challenging. Few games nail twin-stick controls quite like this one. It’s great for spending an afternoon playing just to beat the game, but offers even more if you’re truly aiming to master the high scores.

Dead by Daylight: The Life Road

Dead by Daylight: The Life Road brings the game's first indigenous Survivor to the Fog. Shane Wiigwaas is a respectful inclusion, albeit imperfect, but it proves that where there's a will, there's a way to honor a character's origins in gaming. Despite the 10th Anniversary event being a bit of a letdown, this is another successful chapter that keeps the good streak going this year.

Dark Scrolls

Critic ScoreUniverso Nintendo

Dark Scrolls is a clear homage to arcade side-scrollers, featuring a simple, straightforward concept. It is somewhat addictive, yet it lacks a bit of personality and charm. The references to games and movie characters are great, but if nothing is said, nothing is told and nothing is remembered.

Console Archives - T.R.A.G.: Tactical Rescue Assault Group - Mission of Mercy

Critic ScoreUniverso Nintendo

Even though it lacks much needed quality-of-life improvements and new bonus features, T.R.A.G.: Mission of Mercy (known as Hard Edge in Japan and pal regions) is a great survival horror game with beat 'em up elements, packed with in-game unlockables and story variations depending on the character you choose. It's highly recommended for fans of old fixed-camera horror games and anyone looking to preserve this classic in their modern console library.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok

Critic ScoreUniverso Nintendo
Jul 17, 2026
This is, without a shadow of a doubt, about one of the most well-optimized action RPGs of the year for the Nintendo Switch 2. Beautiful, with varied and fun mechanics, in addition to a diverse cast of characters, even with simple battle balancing and a story dependent on the mobile game, Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok manages to be an excellent title with an extremely vibrant and atmospheric world.

Scholar Adventure: Mystery of Silence
60
Critic ScoreUniverso Nintendo
Jul 11, 2026
Scholar Adventure: Mystery of Silence is a game with limited resources, a lot of atmosphere, and an original narrative, but with rudimentary controls and art. A good game for those looking for a quick mystery in the classic point-and-click style.

Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition

Critic ScoreUniverso Nintendo
Jul 9, 2026
Devil May Cry 5 is an incredible game in its own right. Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition is an essential port for the Nintendo Switch 2—further proof that Capcom knows how to work efficiently with the console and can deliver a high-quality native experience, whether on TV or in handheld mode, even if it took a while and skipped a game.

LumenTale: Memories of Trey

Critic ScoreUniverso Nintendo
Jul 6, 2026
LumenTale: Memories of Trey offers a fresh twist on the monster-catching and battling formula. Despite a somewhat shallow story, the characters, branching paths, unique battle style, and creative Animon designs make this a worthwhile experience.

Dead by Daylight: Jason

Critic ScoreUniverso Nintendo
Jul 2, 2026
Dead by Daylight: Jason brings the last great slasher from classic horror movies into the game. Despite not being the definitive Jason Voorhees, and arriving without a Crystal Lake map or a Survivor from the franchise, it still respects the legacy of Friday the 13th, even as an alternative version.

Psyvariar 3 - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
80
Critic ScoreUniverso Nintendo

Psyvariar 3 is a great shmup for newcomers, with mechanics that increase the difficulty in a smarter way and will appeal to veterans too. The Buzz system needs refinement, but nothing that ruins the great experience the game provides. It also has so many extra modes that the replay value is worthwhile.
