Resident Evil 4: VR Mode

Resident Evil 4 Remake's VR mode is an immersive thrill ride from beginning to end, and what was already one of the best games ever made has been elevated to new heights on the PS VR2. It is truly a must-play experience for anyone with a PS VR2.

Resident Evil 4 Remake might not surpass the original and its third-person roots mean that this new VR Mode still has some awkward transitions in between the action. However, by virtue of being Resident Evil 4, this is also arguably one of the best-paced action-packed campaigns available across all VR platforms. Capcom continues to build on each iteration of Resident Evil in VR, making this release confidently its best VR experience to date. This latest PSVR 2 version of a classic features smart refinements that surpass even Armature’s existing VR release of the original on Quest. Resident Evil 4 Remake’s VR Mode is simply a must for any PSVR 2 owner.

To sum it all up. As good as the flat version of the remake of Resident Evil 4 is, the VR version is the superior way to the play the game.

Resident Evil 4 was a triumph of a remake, and it somehow one upped itself with VR. The movement is perfect, the terror is real, and it’s a fantastic new way to experience one of the best ways of the year. After eighteen years, Resident Evil 4 is the gift that keeps on giving.

Resident Evil 4 Remake VR Mode is yet another great iteration of the iconic survival horror game, and definitely worth playing for anyone searching for grounds to revisit parasite-infested rural Spain. The catch is that translating a third-person shooter into a first-person VR game doesn’t always work as well as one might hope, and some of the ways you interact with the world feel half-baked by the standards set in the VR modes of Biohazard and Village. Even so, this fantastic remake is otherwise as stellar as you might expect in VR form, especially where the incredibly impressive graphics and audio design are concerned. So sure, you’ve probably already played this game before, but one more time through it honestly couldn’t hurt – Resident Evil 4 Remake VR Mode is more than enough reason.

This game is incredible and is worth the cost of the headset alone. Sony have been amazing by funding RE7, 8 and 4 in VR. Flat screen RE is now redundant, and I remember being terrified playing RE1 back in the day on PS1

The absolute best game ever made in VR. The story is one of the bestones written for a video game. Capcom made an all time classic even better. And the VR addon allows you to be Leon. And see what he sees. Every chapter is tense. Sniping is really cool in VR. Thank you Capcom for this amazing experience in VR. it will enter my memory as one of the best games I ever experienced. Please keep on making these great addons for AAA games.

The by far best way to play this game. Just as in RE Village, it's worth a second playthrough in vr.

This is nowhere near as good as the RE8 VR mode-- graphics are considerably worse, weapon handling has downgraded somehow, and you're thrown into 3rd person view every time Leon gets grappled, climbs a ladder, kicks enemies, etc. It's still fun, and this is a stupendous game, but the VR mode this time around is just far inferior to RE8's.

After the astonishing experience with RE Village in VR, I waited to play this one in VR from the start. Unluckily, it didn't worth it. I can't understand people who say this is one of the best VR experiences. It completely lacks VR mechanics. In Village, when you climbed a ladder, opened a door or took an object, you really did it in VR. You even could feel the haptics of the ladder or the object. Now, everything becomes 3rd person actions, even when you kick an enemy or get trapped by them (who, misteriously, appear out of nowhere). It takes you out of the experience. Apart from that, if this was a flat screen game, it would have a better mark, but even though, the bad dificulty progression, irregular gameplay and repetitive enemy voices (that were ok back in its time, but not 25 years later) would have stop that mark from being too good. All in all, the game has been very dissapointing for me. The good side is -now I value the VR mechanics in Village even higher.
