Tiny Flock is a wonderful game, a fun and funny game full of perfectly balanced puzzles that make you want to keep playing just one more stage until you've finished the whole lot. Once that's done, you'll want to run through your favorites again and again. It's an easy game to recommend to households with more than one generation of game enjoyers, too. And I challenge anyone not to fall in love with these cute, little sheep. Tiny Flock, we love ewe.

Overall, Bomb the Hill is a fun experience that captures the speed of racing down the highway in virtual reality, and its story paints a surprisingly touching picture of nostalgia, community, and the ups and downs of an ever-changing world. Skateboarding fans will definitely want to check it out, and it might make for a fun workout if you wish to play it standing up. Just be careful not to wipe out for real.

I Am Your Beast VR is gleefully entertaining with a specific action thriller vibe that everything in terms of visuals, music, level design and interactions plays into. That said, it feels more like a very strong VR mod than a native VR game and its general lack of some VR-specific mechanics will likely turn some players away. I will apply a final score when I complete the game, but from where I am now, I would happily recommend it to action junkie VR gamers, particularly those who enjoy a short-form, roguelike-style gameplay loop.

In the future, I suspect none of these gripes will stand. I’m sure new contracts will be added, weapons will be balanced, and bugs and jank will be fixed. But even if they’re not, the version of Gunman Contracts: Stand Alone that you’ll play today feels substantial enough to stand on its own, because the foundational act of picking up a gun and shooting an irredeemably scummy dude is, in this particular video game, extremely satisfying.

Knights of Fiona feels like it wants to serve two masters: the free-to-play crowd and those seeking a layered fantasy campaign. These two play tug-of-war, resulting in a final product that is constantly at odds with itself and thus not truly great for either group. Ultimately, it lands right in the middle, with some satisfactory elements offset by bland combat on the battlefield. Since it is free-to-start, I recommend at least giving Knights of Fiona a try if you are into fantasy action games to see if there is enough there to keep you interested.

Amelia's Escape offers a satisfying bit of puzzle gameplay, but it is let down by an abrupt ending and a story that left me unfulfilled. Puzzle game lovers will get something out of this, but even then the short length makes it hard to justify its current $14.99 price tag. There are other similar games in the same price range with more to offer. Hardcore puzzle gamers only.

Puzzles of the World is a charming, relaxed time in VR. Its art direction, sound design, and varied locations all combine to make one of the better cozy puzzle experiences in VR. However, it desperately needs more content to turn first-time players into returning players, specifically more actual puzzles than locations. There is nothing inherently bad about it and overall it is quite enjoyable, but limited in scope.

While G-Rebels may have stuttered out of the gate with a rocky VR launch, the developers are responding quickly and addressing the key VR specific issues that are holding the game back. Outside of that, the flight model is genuinely outstanding, the campaign provides an engaging framework for a wide variety of activities and there's already enough content to lose yourself for hours before considering what's still to come during Early Access.

Innerspace's flair for eccentric, surreal gameplay continues with Spymaster. It's a fun romp of an espionage adventure that is not like anything I've played in VR. The formula also lends itself to expansions with new, more intricate mechanics and different spies. It lives and dies on the mission gameplay, which thankfully is executed very well.

I found myself consistently charmed by Compass. So many modern games are afraid of empty space. They're built with fear that players will become bored if every moment isn't packed with stuff; mechanics, voice acting, waypoint markers, yellow paint, the dopamine flood of endless rewards. Compass takes the opposite approach. It trusts that mystery and atmosphere will carry the player through. Like an old motorcycle, Compass is simple and beautiful. It gives you a cockpit, an open sky, and somewhere cool to fly. For me, that's more than enough.
