Mega Man X DiVE Offline
Mega Man X DiVE Offline is an unusual game to review. I wouldn’t label it as “good,” and I wouldn’t recommend it to newcomers to the franchise. Given its nature as a collection of Mega Man characters, it’s evident that this game is designed for fans. Nevertheless, I can’t help but appreciate it on principle. For the sake of preservation and making the game accessible to those who dislike gacha experiences, Mega Man X DiVE Offline is a commendable effort, showing that all gacha titles should offer offline versions so that both contemporary and future audiences can enjoy them without the burden of excessive monetization.
It took some time for me to warm up to Mega Man X Dive Offline, but it’s reached a point where I have a hard time putting it down.

Hit detection and controls are off and clunky. Especially if you compare it to the older games, which was much smoother. The music is on point, but the graphics seem really off. How is it that older games look more aesthetically pleasing than this one? Anyways, huge kudos to devs by turning this gatcha game into a offline version. It is basically a what if gatcha fan fiction game for mega man lovers out there. I think it could have been executed better though.

TLDR: this is a good game,it's not 1 to 1 Mega Man X, there is no 8 bosses stage select, skills and sub weapons work differently and some are tied to specific characters for the porpuse of having a ton of characthers feeling unique from each other, surprisingly this is one of the strengths of the game, since on the other side of the coin this means it has EXPONENTIALLY more characters and stages than the usual Mega Man game and while it gets kind of linear, the things from MMX it gets right like the speed and weight of characters is top notch. ============================================================= More in depth: it's really hard to give this game a positive score since it's definitive prove of how a good game can get completely RUINED by the frankly cancerous Gotcha monetization model, as removing it and allowing players to unlock things naturally made the game, to the shock of no one, a lot more fun and rewarding than forcing you to log in daily to do a mission for the chance of getting something good, so as it is NOW, it's definitely a good, even great game, not only it plays good, it looks surprisingly good, not even for mobile phone standards, it just looks good (though don't expect it to look like an AAA next gen game), so having played both versions of the game, it pisses me off in hindsight how this game was defiled by micro transactions and that in turn, makes it really hard to go and applaud Capcom on this, i want to give it an even lower score based on principles only, but having spend the time i have on it, it's hard not to vouch for a good game. =========================================================== As for the problems the game has: 1) the UI is kind of bad, it's designed for phones, so even on Steam it requires you to use the mouse to move on menus even though the controller is active, i have been playing this with an 8bitdo SNES Pro 2 and so far, I've had no problems controlling x and friends, but the menus don't are cumbersome. 2) for the Overlay and Virtual Controllers, you can make them transparent or invisible, but not move them or change their size, wich is a problem since you DO want to be able to see them, as they are the only way to know if your cooldowns are ready. 3) another small neetpick is that they could have restored the Co-Op in some manner but decided against it, and finally 4) probably my biggest gripe with the game that remains from being a Gotcha style game and the one thing that they can't fix no matter what: it relies too heavily on "waifu" style characters, wich depending on who you are it might be a positive, but i don't buy Mega Man games for the naughty fan service, to me, being familiar with the source material, it's kind of distracting to see for example: Iris, a character that was introduced and killed on the same game, being displayed on a nurse outfit and get way more atention and love than for example: Mega ****, or i never thought i live to see Ferham, a "kind-of-but-not-really-canon" type of character on a BDSM bikini, there are other type of fan service characters (the cool ones) wich can get pretty exciting, llike Omega Zero, Copy X, Ultimate Armor X or Awaken Zero, so it's not a complete betrayal, but it feels like either the game didn't trust their franchise enough, as if the MMX characters weren't good enough to draw players in, or looked down at Mega Man fans as if the only way to get our atention (or the easy way to get our money) was to put a maid dress on a robot. IN SHORT, it's a good game, please do give it a chance, but get it on a sale or something just so Capcom doesn't pat themselves on the back too hard.

This is a very interesting game being a ex gatcha with all of its p2w mechanics stripped allowing players to obtain everything by simply playing the game. Being able to obtain any items or characters really creates a outstanding game since gatcha games usually have very complex mechanics to try to make you waste money, but in this case you are free to experiment and try different items, weapons, characters etc without losing anything. There is plenty of missions with more or less all previous events being available and the full campaign. Only thing bringing the score down for me is the really bad UI and lack of proper controller support in menus forcing you to use the mouse to navigate everything, but overall the game plays fine and there is no major issues with it. If they ever update the UI and control scheme this would be a 8/10 game easily for me. Definitely a step in right direction for game preservation and hopefully many more companies will follow what Capcom did here, so I am hopping that this game will succeed.

I have never played the Android version. If you think that this is a Mega Man X Remake collection, unfortunately that is not the case. Instead they are some scenario levels with a wizard who talks to the player instead of the original story. Not everything is bad, the graphic and gameplay change is good, also being able to choose characters and skins although it takes time to unlock content, it is noticeable that the game lived on microtransactions, something that should have been removed or implemented a more natural content unlock.
