This is a really fun and polished game. The feel of combat is amazing and you will definitely feel like a space marine. My only issue is the really short but definitely quality campaign and lack of any proper solo content to do afterwards.

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail1
Jul 5, 2024
One the worst MSQ storyline written to day in FF14 with probably the worst story in the FF franchise overall. With the main selling point of FF14 being the story, failing in this regards is basically making the game a failure. The graphics update is nice buts its nor revolutionary or game changing as its more of a HD uplift with some new post processing effects than a proper rework, new dye gear system is not great as it barely ads any new customization and the class change for some of them were completely unnecessary and slowly remove any class identity completely as we are slowly moving towards single button rotation. The only saving grace of this expansion are decent dungeons/trials, the new classes which is expected any expansion anyway and the areas being significantly better than Endwalker ones which felt really empty most of the time. Edit:
Yoshi P response to how he expected mixed reviews for dawntrail shows that they are well aware of problems with the game but they are doing nothing about it and do not care if they release mediocre product to their fans, Score going down because of awful response.

I been coming in and out of this game since early access. All I can say get this on a discount for maybe 20 euro since the game can definitely provide 20-30hrs of fun, but after that it just goes down the hill. Endgame is boring, itemization is boring, community is stuck up in their ways so nothing will ever improve and devs seem to have no idea what actually made the successful arpgs successful and are happy to push out constant garbage without fixing existing system. Disappointing as the foundation is there but everything places on top of that foundation is just 0/10.

This is a GAME ! I am honestly amazed that they somehow manage to make this feel like ps3/xbox360 era game with all the bells and whistle of modern gaming. The game is linear but provides enough exploration to keep you engage. Combat is satisfying even if its simple and enemies are tough making every encounter matter. Amazing art style and memorable characters and locations with a stunning soundtrack to complement the atmosphere of the world. This game definitely deserves to be at least a contender for GOTY !

Its a free, addictive, vampire survivors clone. What else can you ask for ? Plenty of characters that feel unique to play, compare to a lot of those type of games you really do feel powerfull once you level your character and the game has its own housing system as well that you can put furniture, play minigames etc. Absolutely brilliant game and you are not losing anything by trying it except maybe your time.

This is a very interesting game being a ex gatcha with all of its p2w mechanics stripped allowing players to obtain everything by simply playing the game. Being able to obtain any items or characters really creates a outstanding game since gatcha games usually have very complex mechanics to try to make you waste money, but in this case you are free to experiment and try different items, weapons, characters etc without losing anything. There is plenty of missions with more or less all previous events being available and the full campaign. Only thing bringing the score down for me is the really bad UI and lack of proper controller support in menus forcing you to use the mouse to navigate everything, but overall the game plays fine and there is no major issues with it. If they ever update the UI and control scheme this would be a 8/10 game easily for me. Definitely a step in right direction for game preservation and hopefully many more companies will follow what Capcom did here, so I am hopping that this game will succeed.

Elden Ring6

Want to start off saying that I have 24 hrs into the game. I tried multiple times to get into it but every time I quit as I am simply lost in the game. The core of the souls game simply does not translate well into an open world game. With previous games as in all dark souls and demon soul, we were given a relatively linear experience. With a game being linear you can easily make a story that is more cryptic and you do not need to hold your players hand. Sadly from software has not changed anything in regards of their quest and story telling making me feel completely lost with no goals to try to reach. Characters telling you only parts of what you need to know works fine for a linear game, but when you have an open world and some character tells you to go north to find x thig then really that is as vague as it can get for open world. I am not asking for pointers or marker in the game but rather an option for characters to be more descriptive and precise on what they are talking about as wandering through the same areas over and over again gets boring pretty quickly when you cant figure out what to do next. The world has few unique locations, but a lot of times you will travel through empty fields, come across the same copy paste dungeon with slightly different bosses at the end and same enemy camps that will make you feel deja vu. My orientation in the game was completely broken as there has been very few landmarks through out the world to be able to navigate it properly. Overall I wish from software returned to their old game design and scrap the open world as they are definitely not able to put the souls mechanics with it.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin7

Stranger of paradise is a strange game. On one hand the game had tons of potential on the other in many ways it feels very rushed. It seems like a lot of focused went into combat rather then making a interesting story which FF franchise is know for. There is plenty of classes and combination to go with but all falls apart once you start looking into the loot system which is so over bloated its ridiculous. This game could really do with some more development time and fine tuning all systems to make more of a cohesive game. Overall I enjoyed my time with stranger of paradise but its not a game I would go back to again.

Grim dawn is truly a fantastic arpg with a dev team that pays attention to their fans. Customization and story are great and there is plenty of loot to keep you busy. My main issue with the game which is why the score is lower then what is should be is the combat feels to clunky and slow for me. I do not feel any impact when attacking or using my skills and there are some pointless difficulty spikes through campaign that occasionally would make me stop playing for a while. Definitely recommend if you do not mind a slower arpg experience.

I was really hyped for this game. After spending many hours playing BG1, BG2, NN1 and NN2 my excitement for BG3 was unreal and sadly I was disappointment. Do not take me wrong the game in itself is great and the systems are really well done, but this game is missing this tiny little spark that was present in other big D&D/Forgotten realms games. I was wondering for a long time why I can not stick with this game and I tried to love it really hard. I then realized that even though there is so much to do in the game your choices are awfully streamlined and don't seem to have major impact. No matter what you do the game leads you to victory. Mess up your build no worries reset away destroying any RP element there is. Characters creation? Pick whatever race you want there is no disadvantages just extra perk to complement whatever you are trying to build. Same for your background story its just a pure stat boost you are not sacrificing anything to gain advantage in something else. Your character is build to be perfect and sure you can still mess things up but really its far from punishing. Combat ? Sure the foundation is decent but sadly its not for me. I do not like how the game focuses so much on environmental damage. Place bunch of explosive barrels around your enemies and blow them up. Yeah sounds cool at first until you realize your stats, equipment and skill play little part in combat once you figure this out. All previous BG and NN games are all about picking the right setup, finding the right gear and adjusting your characters to handle any combat situation. Sadly BG3 is so badly balanced in that regards that if you do not use those environmental advantages you will struggle and I honestly dont find the aspect of this game fun. Overall its a great game but not a great BG game in my opinion. It really is missing out on a lot of aspects that made the original games great and I believe its significantly over hyped for what it is and should have been just called Divinity Original Sin 3.

P5R is absolute gem ****. Fantastic story, great graphics, unique and memorably characters. Game play is really solid and for a turn based jrpg feels really satisfying which is hard to achieve. This is one of those games that will be remembered in years to come and its unique art style will make it easily re playable in the future. The only downside from making this a 10/10 game is that after spending 100hrs in the game the combat can become bit repetitive once you figure out how to handle specific enemies and fusion system is hard to keep track of and would really need some QoL features in future installments of this series.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon9

Honestly this is the most fun I had with video games in a long time. What from software achieved here is really refreshing and in my opinion is what most video games should strife for of this type. Fact action combat that keeps you on your toes as you maneuver through bullet hell. Customization is fun and enjoyable and grinding for currency is also really fun since while you are doing it you can go for try to achieve S rank in missions and try find hidden mini bosses in them. Graphics are good, but nothing outstanding. Some people say the graphics are bad or on the level of ps2 which is not true, but from software definitely did not push graphical fidelity to high in AC 6 to allow most PCs reach higher frame rates which is needed for this type of game plus when you are moving and flying around you wont have time to pay attention to small details anyway. Its a really refreshing game after every other company is spitting out the same thing over and over again so this is definitely worth picking up.

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker7
Jul 23, 2023
This reviews is not of endwalker itself but rather the current state of the game during endwalker expansion. I have spent roughly 2000 hrs in the game. I engaged in PVP, PVE, crafting and gathering. Even though I spent so much time in the game its hard for me to recommend this game to anyone right now. The story overall is fantastic one of the better ones told in video games, but everything else just falls flat. The development team is so afraid to try new things that every patch is the same thing over and over again. They are against using third party tools but provide no alternative solutions. Raiding is a joke as you cant use third party tools, but devs wont provide you anyway to learn the fight and expect you to waste time of seven other people to do so. They are talking about being inclusive for others and ban bad behavior, yet they create toxic environment through all the extreme, savage and ultimate raids that even though are amazing are literaly everything that devs are trying to prevent. I stopped playing at patch 6.4 as the content just became so staled that I just could not get myself to play. The story stopped becoming interesting to me and everything became awfully predictable. Same copy pasted dungeons with different themes on them (pull mobs, pull mobs, fight boss and repeat two more times), followed by a trial that you only do once and that is it. Most classes feel the same, if you learned how to play one tank you know them all, same for healer with only DPS having some variety which is why its the most popular class type to play. Currently I do not see anything changing in that regards as developers either streamline system that do not need it without improving other aspects of the game to be more inclusive for players that want to play fair without help of plugins. Pointless weekly limits, if you miss to play one week or dont have time to grind your weekly tomestones (Resources) you miss out on new equipment. No idea who this benefits as gear in PVP does not matter and even then the gear improvements are usually minimal. This is not very casual friendly and its pointless annoyance for hardcore players to deal with. There is more things I could go over but this review is getting long enough Overall the game in my opinion is missing proper direction. Devs are trying to keep everyone happy but that is simply not possible and as far as I can see they are pushing both the hardcore and casual crowd away. The story at the moment is not giving me any hopes for anything exciting to happen anytime soon and doing the same things over and over again is just getting stale.

Absolute classic, the game aged like good wine and its still amazing to play today. Play it solo, local play or if you know how to setup your networking over internet. The depth of the game with all the available races and map builder that is very intuitive to use that you can give to a 6 year old and they will be able to use it is simply fantastic. Definitely recommend since its a game that I keep coming back for the past 20 years now.

I am writing this review after finishing the campaign after 31 hrs and reaching lv 72. The game is honestly amazing especially considering its age, the variety of skills and passive tree allow for so much customization and choice that it is simply unreal. I be honest I did not pay attention to the story as I play arpg for leveling and loot so cant speak for that part, though I am planning to make a new character just to take my time for the campaign story itself. My main issue with the game is that even though you are only just going through the campaign which is consider by most as a tutorial the game constantly throws new systems at you from previous leagues. I found this to be a bit of distraction while trying to focus on finishing the base game first though its not a big inconvenience since you can just move and ignore them. Main issue with that is if you are new player you are already overwhelmed by all base mechanics and throwing mechanics and content from past few years at you while you are still learning is not the best first player experience. Overall I enjoyed my time with POE and will come back for more.

Diablo IV2
Jul 18, 2023
To start off I played as sorcerer to lv 67 and druid to lv 43 and neither one of those gave me any fun. The game is shallow as hell, there is very little in variety in gear, skill tree and paragon board give you fake illusion of choice in most cases and punishes you for messing up your build or trying to experiment by forcing you to grind for gold with possibly broken character. Level scaling removes any power gains that you might get. if you do not get decent gear for your level and invest in right skill you will just get weaker and weaker with each level ! I simply do not see how this game can be consider a upgrade from D3 or even D2. All the things people complained about in D3 are still there they are just more hidden this time and nothing good from D3 has carried over. Open world is empty and you will feel like every location is the same. The only good things are the campaign and graphics which are upgrade compare to previous games, but other then that you are paying 70 $ to play a worse game. Either play D3 or D2 or even POE as all of them are cheaper and offer greater arpg experience. At the moment I am treating this game as early access and hope they can fix it soon. Edit: Patch 1.1 is out and the game is not improving but just getting worse. Dropping score from 4 to 2 as the overall experience is even worse and Blizzard is making only fun parts of the game (Helltides) not fun anymore.

Truly a amazing port to a switch. Even though the game is heavily criticized on other platforms it really feels like it was made for switch. Considering that you can run end game rifts usually in few minutes makes it perfect for short session during work and the loop is satisfying as ever. Only issue is there so much you can do in the game before it gets boring and the necro class was definitely not made for this hardware as it will make the switch sweat when playing it.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom7
Jul 17, 2023
Tears of the kingdom just like breath of the wild captivated me for 20-30 hrs, but soon after I started getting the same burn out as i did with BOTW. There is tons of new things to make the game feel fresh but the underlying systems and gameplay are the same. Go kill 4 bosses, do bunch of shrines, explore similar world as in BOTW but with few changes and once again collect something like 1000 korok seeds without ability to track them without using a third party app . The underground level is an copy pasted wasteland that is just annoying to explorer and there is so few sky islands that I do not get how they even made that a selling point. You will hear people saying the game is 2 or 3 times bigger then BOTW but in reality its maybe like 1.2 - 1.5 times bigger. If it was not for the whole construction mechanics this game would not be even consider to be innovative in any way. Its a shame that the same devs that have shaken up the gaming market with BOTW decided to go the same route as the rest (UBISOFT 2.0) and just create another copy pasted game.
