Game of Thrones revels in the source material, wraps its narrative around it, and plays along with the vast universe that George Martin has crafted. It's too bad, and deeply disappointing, that the game celebrates little else.

Even if you're a fan of the TV series, the dullness just isn't worth it. [Issue#87, p.86]
Ultimately, Cyanide seems to have released a poor excuse for a TV show to Videogame port with Game of Thrones. It's aimed at fans of the show, and you'll soon realise that Cyanide have used little imagination when creating this title, no doubt knowing that fans will lap this tripe up simply for having the title 'Game of Thrones' on the front cover.

*** To idiots rating TELLTALE Game of Thrones - THIS IS NOT THE SAME GAME!! :D *** This game has one of the best story to tell in all video game industry. That being said, core mechanics do **** a bit but heck, The Last of Us was praised for its story which is well nothing special and the mechanics aren't that good to, but this is not stopping anyone from giving it 10 out of 10.

This game is painfully bad on just about every level. The story line stinks. Your choices don't seem to matter much. No matter what you choose it seems like you always lose. And it runs unacceptably slow on the xbox 360. I thought that by the final chapter you'd have a chance to come out ahead somehow. But nope, the final chapter is just a set up for the sequel. There is no closure of a single thread of the story line. I think one reviewer really nailed it when he said: "don't play this game unless you like getting punched in the face repeatedly." BTW, make sure you check the dates on all the reviews. Almost all of the positive reviews were submitted long before the final chapter was released. Those reviewers had no idea how bad the final chapter would be!

Game Of Thrones is a terrible RPG, trying to sell itself off a a game that is at Witcher 3 GOTY heights, but its really not. The combat is stiff and boring, the dialog is as interesting as a wall(with no multiple dialog options, by the way). And the story is the exact same as in the TV show, except a thousand times worse. The only reason that this game escapes from getting a 0 is that the graphics are decent.

I would love to say that Game of Thrones is a great introduction to George R. R. Martin's world, but that simply isn't the truth. There are quite a few references to A Song of Ice and Fire and only those who are already fans of the series will get a significant amount of joy out of this title. Solid combat and interesting gameplay systems prevent it from being a licensed throwaway, but don't expect a gaming masterpiece if you're not already rooting for one of the lords of the Seven Kingdoms.

Game of Thrones is definitely worth a look if you have the patience to make it past the dull opening hours. If you're a fan of the books or the show, you'll enjoy the references to the wider lore, but you might enjoy the stilted combat, poor visuals and abhorrent voice acting a lot less. Hardened Game of Thrones fans need only apply.

I myself am a true fan of the Game of Thrones series. I have been a hardcore gamer for going on 20 years. I have learned in the past that it's not always about the gameplay or graphics. I always look at a game for the story it has to offer. If you are a true fan of the series, and can get past some bugs and whatnot, its a very good game for your collection. I bought it just for the storyline, and that's all it was intended for in my opinion. I dont suggest buying it, but at least a rent.

For those wanting to explore the wilds of Westeros, climb to the top of The Wall or engage in a thrilling battle with a direwolf, this Game of Thrones falls completely flat. However, if you don't mind suffering through the combat, the visuals, and the lackluster environments, there's actually a decent interactive story to experience. Of course, that's a very big "if."

In the end I think fans will find enough to love, but those looking for a solid RPG experience will come away sorely disappointed.

It's far from the top of its class, and it has a lot of rough edges, but Game of Thrones is perfectly competent in most of what it sets out to do. It tells a good story that's worth experiencing, but if you don't care about the series or care more about the gameplay wrapper around a plot, there are a few better choices out there.

By journey's end, it's only a passing interest in the increasingly intriguing story that holds attention. Indeed, this is a deeply flawed and overly ambitious attempt for a developer unable to grasp the genre basics. Its only real triumph is that it doesn't completely tarnish the licence's sterling reputation.

This game really got a bad rap. I would not have bought it had I seen the review scores for **** I had pre-ordered it a long time ago from Amazon and it just showed up. Frankly, after playing the game twice with both characters (A Night's Watchman and a Red Priest, how can you beat that? Both just excellent, Mors edging the other dude out for me though) through to the end, I am shocked the average score is 5ish. If you like CRPGs and you like either the books or the HBO show, you will enjoy this game. The story is excellent. The game's combat is a little dated, it most resembles the system KOTOR used. The graphics are not cutting edge for last gen but they are not bad to the point where they detract from the experience.

If this game had as much value as the show it would be awesome! ...Unfortunately that is not the case. The overall game-play is what killed it for me. I've been playing games since the 90's so i can deal with mediocre graphics, and i've played Skyrim and Fallout so i can also deal with long loading times. But i absolutely HATE turned based games with a dying passion!! So you pick moves from a selection wheel for your character to do (like 5 max at a time) and then you wait for your guy to go, then the enemy, then your guy and so **** i mention in SLOW MOTION?! Jesus, it takes forever.
